Chapter 192 Fu-chan
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”So, I’ve been tasked with taking in that crazed mage and arranging a meeting with the sis-con, but…”
”Don’t you think both are fine?” Lily said.
The policy for our shop was settled in an instant by the casual, breezy remark of my beloved experimental slave, Lily¹. Taken aback by how flippantly she took it, I hurriedly pressed the point.
”No, but look, you’re in your last month! Full term! We don’t even know when you might go into labor…”
”That’s exactly why. Since we don’t know, let’s just get it over with quickly. Once the baby is born, things will only get busier,” Lily replied.
She spoke with the nonchalance of someone deciding to pop out for evening groceries. I knew this experimental slave had nerves of steel, but I genuinely wondered if it was okay. My anxiety must have been written all over my face, because she gave me a look that said, ‘Oh, you hopeless man,’ and continued.
”It’s alright. My belly is heavy, sure, but I feel great. Besides, I’d like to finally sever those lingering ties with my adoptive family. I’m sorry to cause you such trouble, Master…”
”Don’t say such foolish things. It’s no trouble at all. Even if it were, you’re allowed to lean on me as much as you like,” I said.
”Master… ♡”
I couldn’t let her feel like a nuisance. As I tried to strike a cool pose, Lily hugged me tightly. The baby in her womb gave a rhythmic thump-thump against my own stomach. Ah, the head is properly down. Good child. Our kid might just be a genius.
”Um… I’m glad you two are so intimate, but have we reached a conclusion…?”
”Oh, you were there, Fu-chan?” I asked.
”I’ve been here the whole time…” Flearis replied.
The one who spoke up apologetically was Lily’s younger adoptive sister, a warrior of the Pink Clan², Flearis—better known as ‘Fu-chan.’ It was a rather silly nickname, but I suppose for sisters, even adoptive ones, it’s not that unusual.
Going by the details, it was a nickname Lily had coined back when she was first brought from their ‘Home’ and told to ‘get along.’ For the record, the sis-con younger brother, Martin, was apparently dubbed ‘Ma-kun.’
Yeah… well, it’s not weird, right? It’s not weird, but despite the cutesy names, Flearis and Lily still use formal speech with each other. Lily must have really had a rough time of it…
”For now, we’ve agreed to at least meet them, correct? Master,” Lily asked.
”Ah, yeah. If Lily says it’s okay, then fine… However, Flearis, you’re going to help pin that guy down if he starts a rampage, and I want the rest of the shop staff to be present too,” I said.
”Of course. You may take whatever precautions you see fit. I also have no desire to place any burden on Lily-nee-sama…” Flearis replied.
As Flearis spoke, her eyes softened unexpectedly as she looked at Lily’s belly. It was the gaze of someone looking at a real sister’s child. Despite the harsh circumstances of the Pink Clan, it seemed a genuine sisterly bond had managed to take root.
”You’re surprisingly concerned about Lily, aren’t you, Flearis?” I asked.
”That is… of course. Ane-sama… Ane-sama was the idol of our generation…” Flearis replied.
”Heh, I’m a bit curious to hear what Lily was like back in the day,” I said.
”Ugh… W-well, can’t we just let it be? It’s just an old story…” Lily muttered.
”Now, now, don’t be like that,” I said.
Human nature dictates that you only want to know more when someone tries to hide it, so I prodded Flearis with a look. Lily looked quite bashful, and Flearis glanced between us, looking troubled, but eventually, she began to speak slowly.
”As I mentioned, Ane-sama was the one we all looked up to. She was a pure member of the ‘Tribe’ who came from ‘Home,’ and the fact that she possessed ‘power’ befitting that was certainly a factor.”
”Heh, was she strong?” I asked.
”She was. she had mastered the combat styles of the monsters from ‘Home’ passed down in the Popol Family³ at such a high level that even the adults of the clan would learn forgotten techniques from her. And she rapidly mastered the techniques of the ‘people’ on this side as well.”
”Um… can we please just drop this? It’s not that great of a story. I just happened to be born in ‘Home,’ that’s all…” Lily muttered.
”It wasn’t just that! Ane-sama used to say that ‘in Home, the strong help the weak,’ and she would shield us from harsh training or oversee our practice… There isn’t a single person in our generation who doesn’t feel indebted to her!” Flearis said firmly.
”Well, I mean, if you see a child smaller than you being beaten up, anyone would step in, right…?” Lily asked.
It was another dark story as usual, but it seems Lily was still Lily even then. I instinctively patted her head as if praising the Lily of that time. She blushed with embarrassment, but she didn’t pull away.
”Also… I have fond memories of us occasionally sneaking out of the mansion to play in the town or streets. Ane-sama loved romance novels and became a regular at the bookstore,” Flearis said.
”S-stop it! You don’t need to talk about that too!?” Lily cried out.
”She even told me, ‘Listen well, Fu-chan. A prince on a white horse will surely appear before us one day, so you must be prepared’…”
”Fu-chan!? You’re definitely doing this on purpose, aren’t you!?” Lily snapped.
Yeah, she’s exactly the Lily I know. I felt a pang of guilt that the one who appeared wasn’t a prince on a white horse, but a perverted magic tool dealer with a vibrator…
”That’s why, seeing that Ane-sama has properly found her prince and is happy, I feel very relieved…” Flearis said.
”Ah, I’m not exactly a prince or anything so wonderful…” I replied.
”No, I can tell just by looking at Ane-sama. Truly, thank you very much… B-Brother-in-law…?” Flearis asked tentatively.
Oh, she called me ‘Brother-in-law’… I suppose that is technically our relationship. I glanced at Lily, and she said, “If Master is okay with it,” so I gave a small nod. Flearis smiled with an embarrassed but happy expression.
”Well, despite all that, you were pretty relentless the other day, weren’t you?” I asked.
”I-I am terribly sorry about that… B-but! I made sure my attacks wouldn’t hit you, Brother-in-law!” Flearis replied.
”The other day…?” Lily asked.
”You know, when the Pink Clan attacked? The one who attacked Master then was probably Fu-chan,” I explained.
”Ah, I wondered why I was able to dodge, but so that’s why…” Lily replied.
”I am truly sorry!!!” Flearis cried out.
Rustle! Flearis dropped her hands to the floor and lowered her head in a deep bow. She had her own circumstances, and I wanted to forgive her in my heart, but since Lily and the others were put in danger…
”Um, I won’t ask for forgiveness, so if you would, please accept these…? These are apology gifts from the Popol Family and the Royal Family, along with the request for this matter.”
As Flearis spoke, she pulled several fist-sized ores from her clothes. I recognized those items immediately.
”Could this be… raw Adalite⁴!? And this is a large Minal Crystal⁵, and the legendary Ougle Stone⁶…!” I exclaimed.
All of them were mineral resources from the Coalmine Kingdom⁷ that supported the country. They are all minerals classified as ‘Magic Stones.’
To begin with, ‘Magic Stones’ used in magic tools is a general term for ores that possess the property of carrying magical power. Even the Metag Stones used for vibration mechanisms are ‘Magic Stones’ in a sense.
What’s here are the most valuable among them. Adalite is also produced in the Canaria Kingdom⁸ and we use it in our shop’s products, but it usually circulates as powder. This is the first time I’ve seen the raw ore.
The Minal Crystal is named after the royal capital of the Coalmine Kingdom, and it’s no exaggeration to say the kingdom was founded to produce this ore.
Finally, the legendary Ougle Stone is an ore with particularly high magic conductivity discovered while mining Minal Crystals and other ores. One of these could probably buy several grand mansions.
”By the way, did you say ‘Royal Family’ just now?” I asked.
”Yes. Her Highness the Princess Consort of Ierse Crown Prince thinks highly of you and the products of the magic tool shop Harvest⁹. Because we caused you trouble, she persuaded His Highness Crown Prince Gilliam to prepare these items. They are a personal gift, not sent through Her Majesty Queen Cecile…” Flearis explained.
”That’s… quite something. I’m grateful, but I can’t betray Her Majesty, so I’ll be reporting this properly, alright…?” I said.
”Yes, that is fine. I was told that as long as they could be delivered directly, that would be enough,” Flearis replied.
I’ve been valued quite highly. Well, from the Coalmine Kingdom’s perspective, I’m a suspicious shop selling suspicious goods in the castle town, so they might want to win me over… Or perhaps it’s related to the fact that Her Majesty the Queen treats me with such importance.
”Additionally, from our Popol Family, we hope to give you rare monster materials. We heard that you use monster materials for magic tools. Blizzard Bear¹⁰ pelts and claws, feathers of the Snowy Sage Owl¹¹, exoskeletons and silk from the Silver Spider¹², and anything else we can get our hands on…” Flearis said.
”Could those be…” I started.
”Yes, items procured from ‘Home’ or from lands we manage. We are originally a family of hunters,” Flearis replied.
So the Popol Family wants to stay on my good side too… I wonder about this. I’m happy to get rare materials, but it inevitably creates a connection…
I racked my brains and glanced at Lily, who had said earlier that she wanted to cut ties with her adoptive family. She spoke up casually once more.
”Isn’t it fine? Let’s take Fu-chan along with them while we’re at it. The more experimental subjects we have, the better, after all.”

””HUH!?”” we both shouted.
