Dungeon-Succubus-Tester 13

Chapter 13 Special Reward ②

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Returning to My Room¹, I put my backpack under the desk and took off my gear: the small iron shield, leather gauntlets, leather armor, and leather greaves, putting them in order beside the bed.

After taking off the gear, I stripped out of my reinforced guard uniform, then my shirt and underwear, and went into the shower room. I calmed my ‘son’—who was already entering a combat-ready state from the mere feel of the body soap—while washing away the sweat.

Feeling clean, I checked the clock; it was already past 18:00.

* * *

Thinking about how I’d spent eleven hours in the dungeon today, I sat in the chair at my desk and opened the Shop to buy a soda.

It would be the best if they sold beer. I wondered why they didn’t sell alcohol. Most testers were minors, sure, but they could just sell it with an age limit. I complained to myself while taking a big drink of the soda.

Now that my mind and body were both refreshed…

”Now then, as I thought, there was a special reward,” I said.

With the juice bought, I saw the bell mark blinking next to my balance of 6,020 DP³ and smiled.

There was a ‘2’ shown next to the bell. That probably meant there were two rewards.

Last time, the first ten people to sell twenty Magic Stones² got a shower room expansion worth 10,000 DP as a reward.

I wondered what they would give me for being the first among the testers to beat the first-floor boss.

Looking forward to it, I tapped the bell icon, and the details appeared.

<First-Floor Guardian Slaying Reward: 20,000 DP (1/1) will be given. Accept? (Yes/No)>

<Special Reward for being the first among all testers to slay a Floor Guardian: 50,000 DP (1/1) will be given. Accept? (Yes/No)>

”Seventy thousand DP! A boss… no, a Floor Guardian. To think I get seven hundred thousand yen just for beating it,” I muttered to myself.

Regarding the second reward for being the first to slay it, it felt like a one-time thing just for me. Even so, getting this much DP meant the day I could buy a slave might not be so far away.

Hm? What’s the number in the brackets next to the reward? 1/1? Ah, it means one out of one. If five people slay it, it probably becomes 1/5 and the reward is split five ways. Otherwise, the bigger the group, the more total rewards they would get.

Since there wasn’t a party system, DP rewards were likely split equally among those who were there when the guardian died. Then, everyone would get it through a Magic Crystal after going back. It’s good that there won’t be fights over the money.

”Well, that doesn’t matter to a solo player like me. For now, let’s finish today’s total,” I said.

After taking all the special rewards, I pressed [Magic Stone Buyback], picked up the backpack from the floor, and put all the Magic Stones inside onto the Magic Circle. The circle glowed, the stones disappeared, and the results showed up on the screen.

<316 F-rank Magic Stones and 1 F+ rank Magic Stone total 9,570 DP. Is this okay? (Yes/No)>

”I really did kill over three hundred of them,” I said.

I beat nearly a hundred more than yesterday, simply because my exploration was two hours longer. Also, I was finding them in groups of three on the second floor.

That one F+ rank Magic Stone must be from that Big Horn Rabbit. 316 stones at 30 DP each is 9,480 DP; taking that out leaves 90 DP for the F+ stone. Three times a normal Horn Rabbit. Well, that sounds about right.

After pressing to change the stones to DP, I also cashed in my items. I planned to keep the Potions, so it was just six large copper coins and thirty copper coins. That became 900 DP (100 DP x 6, 10 DP x 30).

 Special Rewards: 70,000 DP

 Magic Stone Exchange: 10,470 DP

 Original Balance: 6,020 DP

 Total: 86,490 DP

”Wow, it’s reached the equivalent of eight hundred and sixty thousand yen,” I noted.

I’d earned this much in just three days. Plus, all my gear was found in treasure chests.

By the way, here are today’s treasure chest items:

 Grade 5 Potion x 2

 Grade 4 Potion

 Knife

 Leather Gauntlets

 Club

 Leather Hat

 Leather armor

 Small Iron Shield

6 Large Copper Coins, 30 Copper Coins

Since there was a copper treasure chest, it was a good haul. The Grade 4 Potion, leather armor, and small iron shield were especially great.

I have five Grade 5 Potions total now, but I’ll keep them just in case. The buyback price is only half the selling price, and I can sell them anytime, so I won’t sell them while I have plenty of DP.

”Even so, while chests are good… it’s better to kill Floor Guardians for better chests and special rewards,” I thought.

There was a huge difference between wooden and copper treasure chests.

Wooden chests usually had one item. Mostly items worth up to 2,000 DP. I was sure of that. But the copper chest had many items worth over 10,000 DP.

That’s more than ten times different. Maybe not every copper chest has that much. It might be because it was a guardian’s chest, but even so, normal copper chests probably have items worth 10,000 DP. Five times a wooden chest.

In that case, the fast way to buy a high-grade slave is to keep going, kill the Floor Guardians, and reach the floors where even the normal chests are copper.

Right now, the other students seemed focused on leveling and finding chests. Some groups might be in the side paths, but finding that specific guardian path among all the tunnels will take some time.

”I should be safe for two or three days, right?” I asked myself.

In that time, someone might reach the first-floor guardian. And whoever kills it might tell the location to others.

No, if they are exploring that hard, they probably think the same as me.

Meaning, they will probably keep the secret for a while. The entrance of the first floor is getting crowded. It proves that students ready to fight are coming in. In a few days, it will be hard to earn there.

So, it’s normal to earn on the second floor while there is no competition.

”I want to keep moving, but the problem is when four Horn Rabbits show up at once,” I said while looking at my DP.

Magic was 30,000 DP each, if I remember right.

I can buy it. And with magic, I think I can fight many monsters even solo.

But… I opened the slave catalog.

If I earn another 120,000, I can buy a Grade 5 slave. At this rate, I can probably save 200,000 in a week.

I’m aiming for a high-grade slave, but when one is close, my heart shakes. I looked closely at the Grade 5 list that I’d only glanced at before.

To be honest, none of them are ‘cute.’ But more than half look okay to sleep with. If you like small breasts, wives, or older women, you could probably have fun.

But at this rate, the ‘Wall Hole’ would probably feel better.

Sure, the charm is being able to try different positions while seeing their faces change and hearing them moan. I’m starting to miss the feeling of being served by a mouth, too.

But I hesitated at the thought of spending all my money on one.

”I might have bought one if that Wall Hole didn’t exist,” I muttered.

And getting a Grade 1 slave would get further away. In the meantime, my main targets—Tsukigase-san from the swimming club and the foreign student Karen-san, who always runs in late with bread in her mouth—might be taken by others who catch up.

I’m solo, after all. If the monsters get stronger and I face more at once, the groups who fight together will have the advantage. They’ll move past me while I’m stuck alone.

It has to be magic. If I can cover the numbers with magic, I should keep my lead.

I don’t know how much Mana Capacity is needed for one shot, but it might go up after I sleep. Besides, right now, I don’t use Physical Reinforcement¹⁰ magic against Horn Rabbits much. I should use that for attack or defense magic instead.

30,000 DP is high, but if I get hurt because I was cheap, I’ll buy it anyway. Then I should buy it now and practice.

It makes the Grade 1 Slave Purchase later, but this is an investment. it should come back many times over in the future, and it keeps me safe.

 ”I’ll buy it,” I decided.

I made up my mind to buy magic, tapped [Martial Arts Manuals & Magic Books] in the Shop, and looked at the list of spells.

 Summary:

The protagonist returns to his room and discovers he has received massive DP rewards for being the first to defeat a Floor Guardian. He cashes in a huge amount of Magic Stones and loot, bringing his total balance to over 86,000 DP. While tempted to buy a low-grade slave, he decides to prioritize investing in magic to maintain his solo lead in the dungeon.

 —

 Character Insight:

The protagonist demonstrates a calculating and pragmatic mindset, weighing immediate sexual gratification against long-term survival and efficiency. His decision to buy magic instead of a slave shows he prioritizes his ‘investment’ in power to ensure he can eventually afford the high-grade targets he truly desires. He is acutely aware of the competitive nature of the dungeon and the risk of being overtaken by groups.

 —

 Behind the Scene:

This chapter establishes the economic scale of the dungeon, equating 1 DP to 10 Japanese Yen. It also hints at the protagonist’s predatory focus on specific classmates (Tsukigase and Karen), framing the dungeon crawl as a race against other students to claim these ‘rewards.’
