Chapter 111 Meanwhile, the Testers
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
POV: Koyama Sanjuro, 3rd Year Animation Dept.
”Three of ’em, dead ahead! They have arrived, verily!” Koyama Sanjuro shouted.
”Spear team, front and center! Fan out on Sanny’s flanks!” Nezu called out from the rear.
”On it!” the group shouted in unison.
Following Nezu’s command from the back where he held his bow, four of the guys moved into formation beside me, leveling their spears.
”Do not retreat, my brothers! Just imagine Sheena is standing right behind you!” Koyama said.
”Hey! Don’t use that name!” one of the spearmen yelled.
”Ah, crap, my knees are knocking…” another muttered.
”My ass just started hurting again for no reason,” a third complained.
”S-she’s not there, right? There’s nobody behind us, right?!” the fourth asked, panicked.
”Is the trauma still so fresh, then?” Koyama asked.
”Shut up! Stop messing around and fight!” Nezu barked.
Just as our usual routine reached its peak, Nezu let an arrow fly. It buried itself deep in the chest of the lead Kobold, sending the creature skidding face-first into the dirt. Seeing their leader go down, the remaining two took a zigzagging path to avoid the bow, closing the distance on us.
But I cannot let them pass.
I caught one lunging beast on my shield, and the guy next to me immediately ran it through with a spear. The last one was swarmed by three others, pierced from three directions at once.
”I suppose that is that. Nezu, your aim has truly improved,” Koyama noted.
”Heh. My ‘Crimson Lotus Arrow’ lets no prey escape,” Nezu boasted.
”That’s just the bow you got from the wooden treasure chest, dude,” one of the guys scoffed.
”Nezu is almost as deep into his dork phase as Koyama is,” another added.
”Cease this at once. Do not lump me in with him,” Koyama replied.
Nezu had the right idea buying a martial arts manual to learn archery, but at first, he couldn’t hit a moving Kobold to save his life. I had bought a ‘Physical Reinforcement’ magic tome, while the others got spear manuals. ‘Physical Reinforcement’ was easy enough to trigger, and the guys picked up spear-work pretty fast, too. But the bow—maybe because it’s a ranged weapon—seemed to have a much steeper learning curve.
Still, Nezu practiced at the edge of the Great Plaza every morning at dawn. He even got tips from some guys in the Archery Club. It’s exactly what I’d expect from a man who dreams of being an anime director—the guy is a pure workhorse.
Well, he’s also every bit as much of a coward as the rest of us.
But in this dungeon, cowardice is a survival skill. We get intel from other students about where the Kobold spawns increase, we’ve memorized the map of the 3rd Floor that Yuki gave us, and we hunt steadily. Switching to night exploration was Yuki’s advice, too. Though, unsurprisingly, the map didn’t mark the location of the Guardian rooms.
Between exploring the 3rd Floor and spending a few hours every afternoon helping the other former shut-ins on the 2nd, everyone finally reached the 3rd Floor today. Now… it’s finally time to rescue Leticia.
I truly can’t thank the Guard, Yuki, and the Baseball Club guys enough. Our savior, the Guard, has already purchased Nijikki and Karen. As expected of the man!
I’m sure he’ll buy Leticia next, but there’s always that ‘what if.’ We have to work our hardest as if we’re her only hope.
On a side note… managing this libido is becoming a nightmare. I never thought I’d end up with this much stamina. If the Guard hadn’t taken over the job of charging our smartphones, I have no doubt I would have blown a fortune of DP on the Wall-Butt stations. That’s how much the urges have been building up.
But I must endure. Until Leticia is safe, every point of DP is sacred.

POV: Manda Seiji, 2nd Year, Leader of the “Trust Fund Group”
”Wind Cutter. Wind Cutter.”
The Kobolds let out a sharp yelp before collapsing.
”There. Finish them off,” Manda Seiji commanded.
”Hell yeah!” his lackeys replied.
The guys who weren’t busy rushed in with swords to finish off the Kobolds I’d shredded with magic. Ever since I bought this spell, combat has been a breeze.
”Must be nice, Seiji. I want some magic of my own,” Murakami said, looking on with envy.
”If I learn magic… can I kill that guy from a distance? The one who stole Karen from me?” Hotta muttered.
I ignored Hotta. Ever since the Guard snatched the girl he liked, he’s done nothing but mumble curses. The guy is a liability; I have to keep an eye on him before he does something stupid. Honestly, I’d love to kick the useless brat out, but his family has been politicians for generations. Cutting him loose would make things “complicated” once we get back to the surface. Both my family’s company and Murakami’s rely on his family for favors.
”The extortion is getting harder, too,” Mimura, our main attacker, started complaining. “The word is out. The people on this floor are sharing our location with each other.”
”Even the Soccer Club guys we were working with started prioritizing their own progress lately,” one of his men added.
”Food prices spiked,” Manda noted. “They can’t afford to play around anymore. There are too many mouths to feed over there.”
Mimura and his goons are our shields. I’ve had Mimura on the payroll as a bodyguard since middle school. I even got him into this academy using my father’s influence as a board member. The rest of the lackeys are just muscle-heads from the school’s combat clubs—idiots who got kicked out for assault. I stepped in, talked to my father, and saved them from expulsion just to put them under Mimura. Each of them has a promise: ten million yen the moment we hit the surface.
And yet… the Guard took them all on at once and ended it in an instant. He beat me to a pulp right along with them. I couldn’t eat solid food for a week.
I tried to get him fired—tried to get my father to throw him in prison for assault. But when Dad went to the school to complain, the Chairman and the Principal played a video of us ‘playing’ with the other students. They threatened to go public with it. My father had to back down, and I got a hell of a lecture for embarrassing him.
Hotta’s father and grandfather tried to use their political weight to crush the guy, too. The very next day, Hotta was told to never, ever cross the Guard again. Something about the Public Security Bureau… it didn’t make sense. I never thought there was a power in this country that the Hotta family couldn’t reach.
”I won’t forgive him… Karen’s virginity… it was supposed to be mine…” Hotta was spiraling again. “Hey, Mimura. You guys… go hurt him. I’ll pay you extra when we get back.”
”No,” Mimura said flatly.
”We can’t take him,” another added.
”If we’re gonna do it, we’d need at least twenty guys,” Mimura said, a sour look on his face. “And even then, I’d rather not mess with that monster if I can help it.”
These guys only understand violence. They were beaten three-to-one in a one-sided slaughter; they aren’t stupid enough to try the same thing again just because a brat is throwing a tantrum.
”Give it up, Hotta,” Murakami said, twisting the knife. “She’s definitely not a virgin anymore. Right about now, the Guard is probably railing her senseless.”
”Uwaaaaaaah!” Hotta screamed.
God, he’s loud. Well, at least his screaming attracts the Kobolds. He’s good for something.
”So noisy,” Mimura muttered. “Anyway, Seiji. What do we do about those shut-ins? The ones who just made it to the 3rd Floor and are loitering around the entrance?”
”Tch. Those beggars?” Manda replied.
I could feel my face contorting. The nerve of those peasants. After spending all that time cowering in the dark, waiting to starve to death… I refuse to accept that I’m on the same level as them.
”We can’t even find the 3rd floor’s Guardian room, so at least we’ve found some good playmates.”
”True. Let’s toy with those guys for a while.”
Members of the Battle Sports Club, Karate Club, Baseball Club, and Kendo Club—not a single one of them would take our bribes, so we’re stuck. As I thought, getting them to agree to a ‘pay-later’ scheme for after we get out of here is pretty difficult.
Up until now, the teachers were the ones showing us the ropes, but one of the coaches has split off, and it looks like they’re struggling. I guess we’ll just play with these beggars and squeeze them dry until the teachers manage to advance.
”Seiji-kun. How about we start by luring a monster train into them, then sell them Potions at a massive markup for their injuries? Once they start crying for help, we’ll tell them we’ll let it slide if they regularly pay a tribute of Magic Stones.”
”Yeah, that works. Just a bunch of easy marks showing up at the right time.”
I nod at Mimura’s proposal.
There were definitely thirty of them. We might actually make a decent amount off this.
You coward paupers. You’re better off staying as leeches, being squeezed dry by us forever.

…………Test Dungeon 3rd Floor: Kickboxing Club President Arashiyama Kaito…………
”F*ck! F*ck! F*CK!!”
I stabbed the Kobold in front of me repeatedly with my large knife, and after stomping on it several times with my steel-toed boots, it turned into black mist and vanished.
”Oi, Kaito, how long are you gonna stay pissed off? It’s late, let’s head back. The Wall-Butt service is gonna end.”
”Tch.”
Following Araki’s words, I picked up the Magic Stone and sheathed my knife. Checking the clock, it was already past 21:00.
”I get how you feel, man. If someone steals the girl you were aiming for, of course you’d be mad. Especially since the one who snatched her was that Guard.”
”The one from the Archery Club, Nijikki-ssu, right? She’s definitely a beauty. Though I’m more pissed about Karen being taken.”
”I was aiming for Karen too, damn it! Right now, that Guard bastard is probably doing whatever he wants with those massive tits. He’s the only one getting all the good women!”
”I’m shocked about Tsukigase being taken. I’ve been eyeing her since 1st year, but he drags her out to the dungeon every day just to show off.”
”You guys are surprisingly calm. If someone took Leticia from me, I’d be going there to kill him.”
”Listen to the lolicon talk, even after getting thrashed by the Guard.”
”You got thrashed right alongside me!”
”Well, that goes for everyone here. That bastard didn’t go for our faces; he only targeted our bodies and legs. Thanks to that, I couldn’t eat a proper meal for a while and I’m still dragging my feet. It’s been a disaster.”
”Even all the 1st years quit…”
”Shut up! I told you not to bring that up again!”
Tch, making me remember something so unpleasant!
That bastard, he barged in even though I was just ‘disciplining’ the 1st years. Sure, I might have gone a bit overboard that day, but that’s no reason for a mere Guard to stick his nose in.
On top of that, he snatched Sanae—the girl I’d been hitting on forever! I can’t forgive him! I’d been aiming for that woman for over six months. And now she’s with a piece of sh*t like that!
”Right, sorry about that, Kaito.”
”My bad, President. But seriously, that Guard is infuriating. It’s bad enough with Tsukigase and that bunny-eared beauty, but he even got Karen and Nijikki. It’s way too unfair!”
”While we’re stuck settling for Wall-Butt…”
”You, you’re the one desperately trying to get a cat-eared girl every day.”
”And until just recently, you were using their asses as sandbags, kicking them until the time limit was up after you were done, weren’t you?”
”Gyahaha! Everyone was doing that!”
”Well, they’re the ones who locked us in this place. Besides, those were some asses worth kicking.”
”True, they did have good asses. Seeing that succubus on the screen with teary eyes was hilarious.”
”””Ahahaha!”””
”Tch, laughing like they don’t have a care in the world.”
Wall-Butt is just a glorified flesh-light sandbag anyway.
These guys probably think I was just going to eat her up and throw her away like any other girl.
It’s not like that. This time, I was actually serious.
When I first saw her beautiful posture while drawing her bow, I could say it was love at first sight. But no matter how many times I invited her, Sanae coldly refused. Lately, she’s been blatantly avoiding me.
She’s getting c**ky just because I was being nice.
So, thinking I couldn’t win her over the normal way, I planned to kidnap her and force her to be mine. When we got locked in this dungeon and I heard I could buy Sanae as a s*x slave if I defeated monsters, I was inwardly ecstatic.
Naturally, I gathered the whole club to move so I could get Sanae. This place was like a game. Monsters left Magic Stones and vanished; it didn’t feel like I was killing living things. Horn Rabbits were annoying with their surprise attacks, but for us—who were scouted by a former pro combat athlete coach to enter this school—they were nothing once we got used to them. We pushed deeper and deeper.
We reached the 3rd floor smoothly. But in this dungeon, you have to find a gimmick to reach the Guardian room. In games, it’s often a hidden passage in a wall. In fact, the 2nd floor’s Guardian room was exactly like that. But we can’t find any gimmick like that on this 3rd floor. Other students and teachers are searching too, but apparently, they’ve found nothing.
I wondered if the gimmick was inside a Monster House, so we went in, but retreated immediately due to the overwhelming number of Kobolds. I felt like someone was there at the time, and I heard someone died in the dungeon afterward, but that’s got nothing to do with us. Just an emergency evacuation. They probably just had bad luck.
While we’re stuck here on the 3rd floor, there are guys moving ahead. Every one of them is under that Guard bastard’s thumb. We can’t exactly ask them, so we’ve just been spending our days searching for the Guardian room while farming Magic Stones.
However, once the 3rd floor got crowded, we couldn’t earn as much. So, just like I used to do in games, I started using Monster Trains to chase others out and secure a hunting ground—but then Oida and his group started monitoring us. They don’t do anything to the rich group that does the exact same thing.
Whenever they find us, they shadow us constantly, which is incredibly annoying. It’s harder to earn now, so we’ve been forced to shift our exploration times. That bastard Oida, acting all high and mighty. Though, there are plenty of people on the 3rd floor who were saved by him when things got dangerous. Well, our group and other groups’ ‘training’ was the cause of that danger, though.
Oida and the teacher group have been desperately trying to suck up to the students ever since their embezzlement was exposed. I guess they finally realized their authority as teachers doesn’t mean sh*t in this dungeon. Maybe they were scared of being isolated.
They were so arrogant before, but now they’re pathetic. But it’s also true that because of them, our location gets leaked easily, making exploration difficult.
But it’s not all bad; fewer people explore at night. There’s the advantage of being able to earn more then. Though if we’re too late, we won’t make it in time for Wall-Butt.
And so, as I was passing by the Guard’s room on my way to the dungeon today—leaving behind the plaza where people were sparse—I saw Sanae’s name on his doorplate. Without thinking, I kicked the door and screamed.
’The Guard bastard stole the woman I was aiming for!’
Since then, my irritation hasn’t subsided, and I’ve been taking it out on the Kobolds.
”Now, now, Kaito. If she’s already been bought, there’s nothing we can do. Those are the rules. Or are you gonna attack the Guard and steal her back?”
”Oh! That sounds good! With all of us together, couldn’t we win?”
”But the Guard has definitely gone past the 6th floor, right? Isn’t his Rank pretty high-ssu?”
”Well, his Rank is likely higher than ours. But we have the numbers, and we have Magic Sealing Crystals from Kobolds to use as meat shields. Plus, the magic Kaito got recently is powerful. On the other side, it’s just two women whose Ranks are lower than the Guard’s. If we all make a show of targeting the women, he’ll be too busy protecting them to fight properly, right?”
Araki is right; unlike back then, we have weapons and magic now. If we all attack at once, we can win. But these guys are forgetting the most important thing.
”There’s no doubt we’d win with numbers if we attacked. But where would we do it? We’re still on the 3rd floor.”
I want to f*cking kill him, but attacking him where people can see would be bad. Yuki, the Baseball Club, and the Karate Club would definitely interfere. Those guys have been tamed by the Guard.
”Ah—I guess the Great Plaza is impossible.”
”There’s a lot of foot traffic between the Great Plaza and the Teleportation Room, too.”
”What, I thought I was gonna get four beauties at once.”
”Right? It would’ve been hilarious to thrash the Guard and gang-rape them right in front of him.”
”Well, that’ll have to wait until we catch up to him. So just bear with it for a bit longer, Kaito. There’s bound to be a chance soon. When it comes, we’ll take all his women for ourselves.”
”Tch.”
Until then, do I just have to sit here and watch while that bastard does whatever he wants with Sanae? F*ck!

Summary:
The chapter follows two antagonistic groups: Seiji’s manipulative faction planning to scam students using monster trains, and Kaito’s violent Kickboxing Club fueled by jealousy toward the Guard. Kaito is enraged that the Guard has legally ‘purchased’ Sanae, the girl he intended to kidnap. The group discusses a future plan to ambush the Guard using their superior numbers and newly acquired magic.
—
Trivia:
- The ‘Wall-Butt’ service involves virtual or captive succubi as a relief system for students.
- Kaito’s group actually caused the deaths of other students earlier via their monster training tactics but felt no remorse.
- Oida and the teachers are currently trying to regain social standing after an embezzlement scandal.
- Kaito was scouted for the school because of his potential in combat sports.
- The 3rd floor gimmick involves hidden mechanics similar to the 2nd floor’s hidden walls
—
Character Insight:
Kaito reveals a dark obsession with Sanae, viewing her as a prize to be won through the dungeon’s slavery system rather than a person. His resentment toward the Guard is not just personal but also rooted in a sense of ‘unfair’ resource distribution within the dungeon’s economy.
—
Behind the Scenes:
The ‘Monster Train’ (トレイン) is a classic MMO term where a player pulls a large group of enemies to a specific location, often used maliciously in ‘griefing’ to kill other players.
