Chapter 114 A Siscon’s Crusade

Togashi, drenched in blood, threw his weight behind his greatshield, pinning the Kobold King against the wall.
”Got him, Togashi! I’m finishing this!”
I lunged. Circling the immobilized King, I drove my spear deep into its throat, twisted the head to tear the wound open, and yanked the steel free.
“Gyak! Gurrgl…”
Blood geysered from the King’s neck, but we didn’t stop. Sanada-san told us these things were tough. I didn’t give it a chance to breathe, thrusting the spear through the gaps in its leather armor, stabbing into its ribs and twisting before pulling it back.
Freed from the King’s crushing weight, Togashi shoved off with his shield, sending the monster reeling.
“Gu… gi…”
The Kobold King crashed onto its back. It snarled, trying to heave its torso up to glare at us. But Tezuka was faster. He swung his blade down with everything he had, catching the monster right in the neck.
The King’s body slumped. With its throat more than half-severed, it collapsed back into the dirt and went still. A moment later, a thick, black mist began to pour from the carcass.
”We did it… we actually did it! We killed an Area Guardian ¹!”
Once I was sure it was dead, I hoisted my spear high and let out a victory cry.

The rest of the guys followed suit, raising their weapons in a chorus of triumph.
”That was rough,” Togashi said, clutching his shoulder. It was stained a deep, terrifying red. “If that King had been moving with his guards, we would’ve been slaughtered.”
He took the worst of it. We were all covered in the usual scrapes and bruises from the gauntlet, but Togashi’s shoulder was a mess. Even Pochi—my Kobold Soldier—had been torn up so badly he’d been forced back into the Magic Sealing Crystal ². It’ll probably take him days to recover. I felt bad; I’d pushed him too hard since the 4th-floor boss. When he’s back, I’ll buy him all the soda he can drink.
I’d panicked when Togashi failed to block that first overhead swing. But we’d kept our heads, using magic to hobble the King’s legs so he couldn’t get his footing. That bought Togashi enough time to down a Rank-4 Potion and get back in the fight.
”It went just like Sanada-san predicted,” Tezuka noted. “Bastard was so overconfident he came out alone at the end. That’s the only reason we’re alive.”
”I’m never gonna be able to pay that guy back,” Togashi added. “Having the intel before the pull makes all the difference.”
”Yeah,” I said. “We’ll find a way to make it even. But first, guys… look.”
I pointed toward the black gate. A copper treasure chest and a small, pearl-colored box had appeared.
”Oh man, is that it? The ticket box?” Togashi asked.
”Wait, why is it copper and not silver?” Takeda asked. “Didn’t Sanada-san say it would be silver?”
”Maybe because we’re the second party through?” I suggested. “He said the second group usually gets Rank-2 tickets or lower. This must be the trade-off.”
I pushed my excitement down and hurried toward the loot. I flipped the copper chest open. Inside was a single, wicked-looking black iron spear.
”Black iron,” I said, handing it to Tezuka. “You’re the only one left without high-tier gear. It’s yours.”
”Holy crap! A real black iron spear! Thanks, Prez!” Tezuka cheered.
”Sorry it took so long. Now… for the pearl box.”
My heart was thundering. Sanada-san said there should be a Rank-2 ticket inside, but in this place, nothing was certain until you held it. My hand shook as I clicked the latch.
Inside was a leather pouch and a single silver ticket.
”Whoa! Is that a Magic Pouch like Sanada-san’s, ssu?!” Sonoda blurted out.
”Nice. Now Pochi won’t have to carry all the heavy gear,” Togashi remarked.
”The ticket, Yuki,” Takeda pressed. “What’s the rank?”
I pulled it out. It bore the suggestive sigil of the Crotch Crest ³. Below it: [Rank-2 Slave Exchange Ticket].
”It’s a Rank-2… a real Rank-2 ticket!”
I did it. Now I can save Hina. I’ll hear my sister’s voice again. I’ll see her smile. Before I knew it, I was crying.
”Hell yeah, Yuki!” Togashi shouted.
”Congrats, Prez!” Tezuka added.
”You’re gonna get Hina-chan back!” Takeda said.
”Thanks, guys… seriously,” I said, wiping my eyes with my sleeve. “I’ll pay you all back for the ticket cost. And Sonoda? With the reward from this and our party funds, we’re getting Nanami-san back as soon as we’re home.”
”Yes! I’m finally gonna see her again, ssu!” Sonoda cheered.
”Don’t worry about the debt right away,” Togashi said. “I’ve got Melissa to keep me busy.”
Togashi had recently bought a Soul-less Doll ⁴—a blonde, blue-eyed beauty. He’d claimed it was love at first sight, but seeing a guy with his rugged face grinning like a kid every time he talked about her was a little creepy.
”Heh, I’set too. I’ve got Mazetta-san,” Tezuka said, scratching his head. He’d picked up a Soul-less Doll who looked like a refined housewife. I’d heard rumors he had a major mommy complex and spent his nights in ‘baby play’ mode. Looking at the guy, it wasn’t even surprising.
”Must be nice,” Takeda sighed. “I’ve been saving up for a 5th-Rank slave, but maybe a Soul-less Doll is the better move?”
”They’re beautiful, sure,” Togashi countered, “but they don’t give you anything back. Sanada-san said it takes half a year for their brains to wake up. You’d probably have more fun with a live student.”
”I get that,” Tezuka admitted. “Sometimes I wish she’d talk. Just getting a handjob while I’m on her tit feels kind of empty when she’s just staring at the ceiling.”
”So they’re basically just static Wall-Butt ⁵ for a few months?” Takeda asked. “But if you just keep creampieing them for six months, they start talking? I don’t know. I could buy 500k DP worth of surgery meds and make a 5th-Rank look like a goddess. But then I’d need weight loss pills, breast expansions… by the end, I could’ve just bought a Rank-2. Plus, would her family even know it was her if I changed her face that much?”
”Whatever,” I interrupted. “Let’s move. We need to link up with the second party and clear that Monster House.”
The plan was for all ten of us to wipe out the Monster House guarding the shortcut to the 4th-floor boss. The other five were probably waiting for us at the 1st-floor teleporter already. If we didn’t hurry, we wouldn’t make it back before the curfew.
”Right. The 4th-floor boss respawns in ninety minutes. We’ve got to move,” Togashi said.
”I’m ready! I need to see Nanami, ssu!” Sonoda shouted.
”Haha, tomorrow’s a day off. You’ll have plenty of time to get reacquainted,” Takeda joked.
I led the way through the gate, unable to stop myself from grinning. Hina. I was finally going to hear her call me ‘Big Bro’ again.

[1st Floor Teleportation Hub – Night]
”Yo, look. It’s the Guard.”
”Damn… the rumors were true. He really did get Nijikki and Karen.”
”Is he power-leveling them? Look at them—they’re completely wiped out.”
”What a waste of Rank-1s. Why risk girls like that in the dungeon?”
”If he’s got two Rank-1s and Tsukigase, how deep is he going? 10th Floor?”
”With a Doll and a student? The Guard’s gotta be ex-mercenary or something.”
I stepped off the teleportation array ⁶, the whispers of the other testers buzzing around me.
”Does that mean we can find Rank-1s on the 10th Floor?”
”I don’t care. I’ve got Mona-chan. She’s all I need.”
”Same. Paula’s enough for me. Though I wouldn’t mind a cat-eared beastman… but those high-spec ones are expensive.”
”Screw you guys! Why do you get the good ones? I spend every night being ‘gentle’ with the Wall-Butt girls and I still haven’t gotten a break!”
”Probably because you’re packing a cocktail sausage, man,” a tester joked.
”Nah, it’s the phimosis. Definitely the phimosis,” another added.

A dry chuckle escaped me.
”Master? Is something wrong?” Sheena asked.
”Nothing. Let’s go,” I replied.
I ignored them and kept moving. Sheena had Sanae on her back, and I was carrying Karen. We’d spent the afternoon grinding the 4th Floor, letting the girls get the killing blows on weakened Kobolds. By the time they wake up tomorrow, they’ll be G+ rank for sure.
The hub was packed for this time of night. I saw at least three others with Kobold summons. They looked disciplined and fierce. Unlike Rock. My Kobold had started out looking dignified, but he’d turned into a total degenerate somewhere along the line. I still don’t know where I went wrong with his training.
More guys were getting Soul-less Dolls, too. Even Yuki’s group had picked up a few. They’d asked me how to “wake them up” like Sheena. I told them the truth: it takes constant stimulus.
Still, nobody had found a High-Grade Resurrection Crystal. Most of the Dolls coming out of the standard ones were Caucasian-types, beautiful but lacking any stamina. They usually pass out after an orgasm or two, which is why the Wall-Butt stalls are still so busy.
Beastmen are just tougher. Sheena’s a C-Rank; it takes a lot more than a few rounds to put her down. You get what you pay for.
I pushed through the exit, feeling the weight of a hundred jealous, hateful glares. I didn’t care. When you’ve got three Rank-1 slaves in a place like this, you learn to enjoy the view from the top.
