Chapter 432 Visitor from the Underground
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”Ahhh! Momo-sama, how radiant you are again today…!”
”Uloo…?”
A few days had passed since the victory parade. For the most part, peace had returned to our shop. I was still a bit concerned about what would happen to the Assassins, and I was getting teased all over the streets about that business with Sister Amelia, but otherwise, things were quiet.
Today in particular, I was just lazily playing a game where I walked wherever my darling daughter, Momo, pointed her finger. We eventually wound up in the common room of the Ddo-Buddy Estate¹. I was just spacing out when, before I knew it, a crowd had started to gather. It was the absolute peak of tranquility.
”Hey, Martin. Don’t confuse Momo by teaching her such big words,” I said.
”Not at all, my Lord! Momo-sama is blessed with every possible talent. She’ll be mastering vocabulary of this caliber in no time,” Martin replied.
”Well, I can’t argue with that, but…”
”Unuwaa…?”
”Ahhh! That’s it, Momo-sama! Ra-di-ant! Yes! Ra-di-ant! It is a word that exists solely for your sake!” Martin cried.
”Ulyuwai…?”
”Gasp! As expected, Momo-sama is magnificent! A genius! A total natural!” Martin shouted, nearly bursting into tears.
The one currently making a fool of himself was Count Martin Popol, the younger brother of my love-slave, Lily. This man was supposed to be a fierce general, hailed for his role in taking down two Great Dragons, but in front of his cute niece, he was a total softie.
Well, it couldn’t be helped. Our “Hope and Salvation for the entire world,” Momo-sama, was already starting to use words at only eight months old. Faced with such brilliance, anyone would be forced to bow their head and weep.
”Pa-ppa!”
”Yes! What is it, Momo! Daddy’s here! Did you want to see Daddy? Do you want me to hold you? Do you love your Daddy that much?!” I gushed.
”Au…?”
”Oh, my heart!” I groaned.
With Momo’s cuteness breaking her limits every single day, I was past the point of being “head over heels”-I was practically a puddle. When I picked her up and we rubbed cheeks, she actually rubbed back. I thought I was going to die of happiness right then and there. And I don’t mean that in a suggestive way.
”Hey, ‘Wife,’ that’s your ‘beloved husband’ over there. Any thoughts?” Laika asked.
”Honestly, Laika, what is with that tone? He is the man I love, certainly, but he’s your man too, isn’t he?” Tania replied.
The two women chatting so relaxedly while cradling their baby bumps were my love-elf, Tania, and my love-dog, Laika. Just as Laika said, her father, Mr. Slop, and his wife, Rikka, had come to visit.
”Heh, nothing wrong with that. Once your kid is born, I plan on being just as shamelessly affectionate. Even if I am a Dog-Beastman,” Slop said.
”Oh, he’s a male with real potential. There’s a proverb in our pack: ‘If you find a man who’s obsessed with his pups, catch him even if you have to rip his tail off,’” Rikka added.
”Uh, Kento doesn’t actually have a tail, Mom,” Laika muttered.
While cracking their unique brand of Beastman humor, the two of them stroked Laika’s belly. For the record, Slop has three other wives, and they’ve all been incredibly supportive of us. Actually, the first time I met the parents, the entire pack showed up; I was surrounded and sniffed within an inch of my life.
Laika had complained, asking why everyone had to come along, but I didn’t miss the fact that she was grinning the whole time. It really is great to be celebrated by the people close to you.
Well, except for one boy who apparently saw Laika as an older sister-he looked like he’d been hit by a freight train. As a fellow man, I felt for him, though I’m probably the last person on earth he wants sympathy from. Yeah… stay strong, kid.
Anyway, they’re planning to stay in the Royal Capital for a bit while they look for a new place to settle. Since the Stampede² has died down, their old home is an option, but for them, the most important thing is whether there’s good game to hunt. They’re sending scouts out to find the best hunting grounds.
Though, I suspect half of it is just an excuse to stay and see their grandkid’s face. They can get by for a few months without hunting thanks to the reward from Her Majesty the Queen and some temp work.
As my in-laws were fussing over Laika and Tania, someone else came down from the second floor. Lately, the Ddo-Buddy Estate always seems to have people drifting in.
”Yawn… I thought I heard a racket. Is it morning already?” Kushe asked.
”Lady Kushe, it’s past noon. If you don’t start getting up earlier, you’re going to miss my brother-in-law’s handmade lunches,” Flearis said.
”Mmm, well, that is a top-tier priority,” Kushe muttered.
The ones descending were Kushe, the Head Court Mage of Coalmine, and Lily’s younger sister-in-law, Flearis. It looked like Kushe had only just woke up. We have rooms set aside for them here as well.
By the way, as for the trio of Martin, Kushe, and Flearis-Flearis is our main link to Coalmine, but it seems Martin and Kushe are planning to hang around a bit longer too.
Technically, Martin should be the first to head back. Even if it was for the sake of stopping the Stampede, he’s essentially left his own territory unattended. But he’s been acting selfish, insisting he needs to “recharge his Momo levels” to extend his stay.
As for the others: Lily was currently watching the shop to give the Slop family some space. The Court Mage Satsuki and Sister Amelia were over at the Canarias Convent working.
Satsuki and Amelia, in particular, have been busy preparing for the launch of the “Wiggling Ddo-Buddy.” I’ve also heard they’ve been getting closer with the Harvest Project crew.
Then there’s Aerith from the Merchant Guild Garou and the Duke’s daughter, Tina Badcage. Both are pregnant like Tania and the others, so they’re taking it easy at home. As a side note, their fathers and Slop have already hit it off; apparently, the “Fathers-in-Law Club” has been busy sharing drinks.
The only ones not in the Capital right now are Viscountess Ray Nixfen and her father, Tail, who are back in their territory. I hear they’ll be back soon, though, so the day our full roster is gathered isn’t far off.
And so, people kept coming and going from the Ddo-Buddy Estate. It was noisy, crowded, and honestly, a total blessing. Once the rest of the kids are born, the vision I had for this place will be complete.
A lot has happened, and we still have loose ends to tie up, but things were finally going perfectly. I was thinking to myself, “I hope things stay this peaceful forever,” which was probably my big mistake. Suddenly, I heard the sound of someone coming up the stairs from the basement.
The basement of the Ddo-Buddy Estate is supposed to just be my research lab. Aside from at night, no one but me ever goes down there. Footsteps coming from the basement shouldn’t even be possible… unless someone was using a secret tunnel.
”Oh, it’s a regular party in here! Yo-ho, Kento-buddy! ssu How’s it hanging?”
Emerging with an incredibly bright-or rather, totally airheaded-energy was the highest authority in the Church, the Holy Figure herself… Loire-Rose.
—
Summary:
The chapter depicts a warm, domestic period of rest at Kento’s estate following the dragon slaying and victory parade. Kento spends time with his daughter Momo and his pregnant lovers while hosting Laika’s beastman family. The peaceful atmosphere is suddenly interrupted when Loire-Rose, the Church’s highest authority, enters unexpectedly through the basement.
—
Trivia:
- Momo is only eight months old but is already attempting to speak complex words.
- Laika’s father, Slop, has four wives in total.
- The ‘Stampede’ was the major monster event that just concluded.
- Kushe and Martin are both extending their stays specifically to spend more time with Momo.
- There is a secret tunnel leading to Kento’s basement research lab
—
Character Insight:
Kento’s shift from a merchant/warrior to a completely ‘melted’ father shows his primary motivation is the domestic happiness of his ‘Ddo-Buddy Estate.’ Meanwhile, Martin’s gap between a fierce general and a niece-obsessed uncle adds comedic depth.
—
Behind the Scenes:
The term ‘Ddo-Buddy’ (Kokeshi) is a recurring gag and branding for the protagonist’s adult goods shop, often clashing with the high-fantasy setting.

TL Notes:
Notes:
• Momo – The newborn daughter of Kento and Lily. She has pink hair and her father’s ear and eyebrow shapes.
• Amelia – A light blue-haired Sister of the Church of Demon-Subjugating and Kento’s shy harem member. A newly awakened “Saint” from Holy Sleep, modest and easily embarrassed with red ears and neck. Wears her habit and treasures Kento’s ring on a necklace.
• Martin – Lily’s non-blood-related younger brother. Considered the strongest candidate to succeed the Popol family due to his lineage and manifested ‘power. He has pink hair.
• Lily – the sl*ve and primary experiment subject for the magic shop, ‘Harvest.’ She has striking pink hair, Blue eyes, medium breasts, which the Protagonist associates with being ‘wanton’. She has a working knowledge of magic, which she kept hidden from the slave trader.
• Laika – The beastwoman dog.
• Tania – An Elf adventurer who, despite her race’s reputation for low sex drive, is secretly quite passionate. She initially seemed ‘wasted’ (emotionally dry) to her friend Raika, but was easily introduced to the pleasure-items sold at ‘Harvest.’ She is easily embarrassed and attempts to maintain a dignified facade, despite her recent, frequent purchases. She wears practical but light armor over a simple cloth tunic and short pants, highlighting her grace and agility. Her primary relationship is one of friendly senior-junior with Raika.
• Rikka – Member of the hound-kin pack; Laika’s mother. Has orange hair and fluffy tail. Energetic and teasing.
• Slop – Leader of the hound-kin pack; Laika’s father. Has orange hair and fluffy tail.
• Kento – Lord Harvest—the unassuming owner of the Harvest magic tool shop (with a discreet adult goods side). An isekai’d Japanese salaryman resembling Kazuma Satou, with dark hair and basic magic for crafting. Recently triumphed over a Great Dragon; now juggles his harem, tinkering, and ties to Amelia and the Queen at Ddo-Buddy Manor.
• Kushe – Chief Mage of the Coalmine Kingdom—a blunt, mischievous court mage and Kento’s companion. Dark green hair worn haphazardly under a loose robe, she’s assertive, knee-complaining, and leaks secrets to push things forward.
• Flearis – A member of the diplomatic envoy and guard. Has pink hair. Lily’s sister or Martin’s younger foster sister. Has pink hair. Member of the covert unit. Displays a cold, almost vengeful pragmatism when reporting her sister’s words to Martin.
• Satsuki – Miranda’s granddaughter—a talented court mage with long black hair, staff, and palace robes. Prickly tsundere companion of Kento who fought in the dragon subjugation. Now humiliated yet fulfilled as Harvest’s new worker, her research thrives under his guidance while she whispers romantic tips to Amelia.
• Tina Badcage – Silver-haired, red-eyed woman with a very formal, old-fashioned way of speaking, often ending sentences with ‘no ja’. She is the only daughter of the Duke Badcage, tasked with guarding the North for the Canaria Royal Family. She is described as a beauty. Her inexperience suggests a slender build, and her dress is likely formal and aristocratic, though not explicitly stated.
• Aerith – A wolf beast-person and Ouka’s daughter. She is intensely attracted to Kento’s creative genius and is not shy about showing her interest. Have gray fur hair and tail, wearing elegant dress.
• Nixfen – A viscount aristocrat who has started manufacturing and selling adult goods similar to Kento’s products in the Royal Capital’s pleasure district. He is described as a ‘pretty boy’ or ‘gentle-looking man’ (yasao) but is a territory-holding noble likely trained in combat.
• Tail – Former Viscount Nixfen and Ray’s father. A master craftsman with rugged, calloused, and scarred hands. Stern expression, socially awkward, and proud of his family’s ‘specialized’ trade.
• Ray – A Viscount with flaxen-gold hair in a men’s wolf cut. Possesses a sweet mask and a prince-like aura. It is revealed at the end that Ray is actually a woman. She has started manufacturing and selling adult goods similar to Kento’s products in the Royal Capital’s pleasure district.
• Loire-Rose – The current Saintess—supreme leader of the Great Cathedral with a divine look (white hair, pale skin, blue eyes) and holy powers like manifesting light and blessings. Her modern, playful irreverence clashes with church norms, though she struggles to keep her composed “mask” under pressure.
