Chapter 220 Lightning the Thunder Demon General ①

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

The sky was beginning to look ominous.

”The clouds are turning nasty, boss-ssu,” the girl said, the wind whipping her hair.

”You’re right,” Nagase-sensei replied. “Just as Mayuzumi’s oracle¹ predicted, a disaster is about to strike this city.”

I, Yuto Jinno, had traveled to the city of Spellreed within Viscount Burton’s domain alongside Nagase-sensei and Mayuzumi. Spellreed was known as the premier city of sorcery in Plaudix, boasting a population of approximately thirty thousand. Lately, the settlements across Plaudix had been ravaged by unprecedented disasters, leaving countless casualties in their wake. Mayuzumi’s oracles had identified the threats early on, but because the disasters occurred so far from the royal capital, we had been unable to intervene.

One of the powers granted by Mayuzumi’s unique skill, Protection of Raphael², was the Oracle. It was a powerhouse ability that could turn her words into reality, though it functioned more effectively as a form of precognition. The reality-warping aspect was notoriously difficult to control. Thanks to her vision, we had predicted the next disaster site and moved to intercept it. Kakei remained behind to watch the house – or more accurately, we left him because he lacked the motivation to help. Despite his attitude, his strength was significant; we couldn’t simply kick him out like we had with Nishino. He was a constant headache.

Speaking of headaches, Sugita and his cronies were gone. I had heard the news from Nagase-sensei, who had recently been freed from Sugita’s brainwashing. His influence had snapped abruptly, leading her to conclude that Sugita had died. I always knew divine punishment would find him, though I’d hoped to deliver it myself. Apparently, the Hero Church had officially branded him a fraud; the high-ranking officials were clearly fed up with his antics. Mayuzumi’s oracle regarding his treachery had been the final nail in the coffin.

The real mystery was Princess Mariana and the two others who had accompanied Sugita. For some reason, Greedia was now inaccessible, blocked by what seemed to be an invisible wall. No information could get in or out. Since they had also been under Sugita’s thumb, the brainwashing should have worn off by now, yet they hadn’t returned. Furthermore, over a dozen shrine maidens were still missing.

As long as I had Nagase-sensei by my side, however, I wasn’t worried.

Returning to the matter at hand, Mayuzumi’s oracle claimed that nearly every house in this city would be leveled. I had no intention of being buried alive, so we stayed in the open. The citizens were scurrying home as the dark clouds bruised the sky, but the rain caught them within minutes.

What started as a drizzle quickly escalated into a violent downpour. The wind roared, and the first cracks of thunder shook the air. It was a localized deluge.

”This isn’t just a storm,” Nagase-sensei shouted over the gale. “It’s a supercell³.”

 ”A supercell?” I asked.

”Simply put, it’s a massive, rotating cumulonimbus cloud,” she explained. “Despite being a single cell, its scale is enormous, and it brings this exact kind of extreme weather.”

”Wow, you’re so smart, Yuto!” the girl chirped. I couldn’t tell if she was mocking me or genuinely impressed.

”But Sensei,” I said, “don’t those usually form in the summer? I know Plaudix is warm, but…”

”Plaudix is warm, yes, but the temperature is lower than a Japanese summer – maybe twenty-five degrees Celsius. The humidity isn’t high enough for this to happen naturally. Yet, these storms are hitting populated areas across Plaudix once a day with surgical precision. This is an artificial disaster. It was triggered by sorcery.”

I was stunned. I knew magic was powerful, but this was on a different scale. “How do we even stop something this big?”

”That’s where you come in, Yuto,” Nagase said. “I want you to use Judgment to disperse it.”

 ”Me? How?”

”Your Judgment affects anything you deem harmful. It isn’t limited to living creatures. It works on any target you designate.”

”Whoa! Are you serious, boss-ssu?” the girl shouted. “That’s insane-ssu! Yuto, you’re the man-ssu!”

I hadn’t realized my power was that versatile. If that was the case…

”Understood. I’ll try it. Judgment, activate… Target: The supercell looming over this city and the source that created it!”

The moment the skill triggered, the supercell shattered and dissolved. It actually worked. Simultaneously, a bolt of white lightning – separate from the storm – slashed down and struck the city center.

We ran toward the impact site. There, lying in a crater, was a beautiful woman in silver armor that accentuated her curves, her blonde hair tied back in a long ponytail. She was clearly the source.

 ”Ah… ugh… what… happened…” she muttered, her voice fading.

 ”This girl… she’s a demon,” Nagase said.

”A demon?!” I drew my sword to finish the job, but Nagase stopped me.

”Wait. I have a plan for her. Leave this girl to me.” Nagase wore a dark, voluptuous smile.

* * *

 ”Ugh… where… am I…”

I couldn’t fathom what had happened. I had deployed my sorcery to level the city, but the moment the spell vanished, a massive shock had slammed into my body. My memory was a blank after that.

 ”Ugh… what is this?!”

As my mind cleared, horror took hold. My armor was gone. I was stripped bare, my limbs locked into heavy iron shackles bolted to a stone wall. The humiliation of my nakedness was unbearable.

 ”Heh. You’re finally awake.”

A woman sat in a chair across from me, her legs crossed. She wore a nasty, mocking grin. She was shorter than me, with short black hair and a delicate face. She looked weak – hardly a threat.

”Do you understand your situation?” the woman asked. “You were struck down by the Hero and knocked unconscious. We’ve restrained you. You are a prisoner of war.”

 ”The Hero…”

I knew there was a Hero in this land, but I had dismissed him as a non-threat. Now, I was facing the consequences of my arrogance. I had no intention of pleading for my life; to die here would be a mercy compared to this. But to be kept alive like this was an insult to my pride as one of the Six Demon Generals.

 ”Kill me,” I spat.

”No,” the woman replied smoothly. “Your life and death are entirely in my hands now.”

”You…!” I glared at her, but she only smirked.

”How frightening. But with those magic-sealing shackles on your wrists, you’re powerless.”

I ground my teeth in frustration.

”Still, you’re quite the beauty,” she continued, leaning in. “Those purple eyes are lovely. Yes, you’ll do perfectly.”

She gave me a sickening look.

”You see, the Hero Church is running short on shrine maidens lately. It’s a real problem. So, I’m going to turn you into one. You’ll be a ‘Meat Toilet‘ – a vessel to soothe the Hero’s urges with your body.”

A chill ran down my spine. “Meat Toilet? Don’t be ridiculous! Who would ever agree to that?!”

”Unfortunately, it isn’t up for debate. You’re going to become a pathetic, c**k-starved Meat Toilet. That’s all a demon is good for, really. You should be grateful we’re letting you live.”

”I’d rather die!” I screamed. I would never serve the enemies of the Demon King.

”My, you are stubborn,” the woman sighed, resting her cheek on her hand. Even that simple movement felt predatory. “I was hoping you’d volunteer. I suppose I’ll just have to train you until you’re begging for it.”

”Don’t mock me! I am Lightning, the Thunder Demon General! I will never break!”

”Is that so? Then let’s play a game. If you can endure my ‘lessons’ for seven days, I’ll let you go. But if you break… you become our Meat Toilet.”

”Fine,” I snarled. “On my pride as a Demon General, I will endure. And when I am free, I will tear you limb from limb.”

The woman’s smile only grew wider, more alluring and more dangerous. “I like that spirit. Let’s begin.”

That was the start of seven days that hovered somewhere between heaven and hell.

 Summary:

Yuto and his companions travel to Spellreed to stop a magical supercell disaster predicted by Mayuzumi’s oracle. Yuto uses his ‘Judgment’ skill to disperse the storm and inadvertently strikes down its creator, Lightning, a high-ranking Demon General. Nagase-sensei takes Lightning captive and proposes a cruel ‘game’ of psychological and physical breaking to force her into s*xual servitude as a ‘Meat Toilet’.

 —

 Trivia:

 - The ‘Judgment’ skill is conceptual and can target anything the user deems ‘harmful’, including inanimate weather phenomena.

 - Sugita and his group are officially dead, which broke the brainwashing on Nagase-sensei.

 - Greedia is currently blocked by an invisible wall, preventing entry or information flow.

 - The Hero Church has officially declared Sugita a fake Hero.

 - Mayuzumi’s ‘Protection of Raphael’ has two functions: making words reality (harder) and precognition (main use)

 —

 Character Insight:

Nagase-sensei demonstrates a darker, more sadistic side than previously shown, appearing to relish the idea of ‘training’ and breaking the captive Demon General. Lightning displays strong warrior pride but is immediately thrust into a state of total vulnerability.

 —

 Behind the Scenes:

The term ‘Meat Toilet’ (Niku-benki) is a common trope in dark fantasy/erotic Japanese fiction used to signify total dehumanization. The author uses this interlude to introduce the first of the ‘Six Demon Generals’.

Notes:

• Nagase – Nagase Emi. A 23-year-old teacher. Height 159 cm, B-W-H: 85-56-83. She looks younger than her real age. She is popular with students because she acts nice, but she is actually a trash teacher who was the first to bully Natsumi Sasaki.

• Jinno – Jinno Yuto. The class president. He acts like he has a strong sense of justice, but in reality, he just ignored the bullying of Natsumi Sasaki.

• Yuto – The class president. He acts like he has a strong sense of justice, but in reality, he just ignored the bullying of Natsumi Sasaki. He has a tall, athletic build and a serious expression.

• Kakei – Height 173 cm, weight 59 kg. Thin with ‘seaweed hair.’ He has a selfish and elusive personality. He doesn’t care about class drama. He knows a lot about guns.

• Sugita – Leader of the Sugita gang and main bully of Natsumi Sasaki, born into heavy police privilege—his grandfather is the Superintendent General, his father a Superintendent—so every mess he causes gets buried. Lean build, sharp features, that cold, arrogant “I can get away with it” stare. Wields the unique skill Steal (窃盗), which he uses to manipulate minds and control women. Once impersonated the hero Sieben with a mask and greatsword, but lost everything and dropped to Level 7. He’s a “Hero” cursed to die and resurrect endlessly—turned into a Lesser Vampire, executed, and ultimately erased from existence.

• Mariana – Second princess of Plaudix and a Saint of the Hero Church, looks like she should be in class with the students—blonde hair, blue eyes, and wrapped in thin, delicate silk. Tries to rescue Sugita, so she’s technically doing the “holy” thing, but it’s still an awkward, politically messy move for a royal Saint.

• Lightning – The Thunder Demon General, one of the Six Demon Generals. She has thick blonde hair in a ponytail and purple eyes. Wears silver armor that accentuates her body lines.
