Chapter 224 Mashiro Kagaya ①

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

After talking with Yamato for a while, I headed back inside the carriage.

Even though it was built tough, it hadn’t escaped the impact. The furniture was trashed and the dishes were scattered everywhere. I managed to get things back in order, but it took a hell of a long time.

Both Honoka and Yukiko were exhausted and had fallen fast asleep. Thanks to that, their “reward s*x”¹ had to be pushed back until tomorrow. I really shouldn’t have wasted my time talking to Yamato.

As I opened the door, Kagaya was leaning against it with her arms crossed. I tried to ignore her and head to my room, but she stopped me.

 ”Hey, Sasaki-kun,” she said.

I stopped in my tracks and looked at her. Kagaya was pinning me with a piercing gaze.

”Sasaki? I think you’ve got the wrong person…” I said, trying to play it off. There shouldn’t have been any way for her to find out.

”No. You’re Sasaki-kun, aren’t you?” Kagaya asked, her voice steady as if she were certain.

”What makes you think that? Where’s your proof?” I asked.

”Well, first there’s your voice. I’ve been trying to place it for a while now. I kept thinking about whose voice it was, and the only one that matches is Sasaki-kun’s.”

”I’m sure there are plenty of people with similar voices,” I replied.

The Vertical-Horizontal duo² had caught me before, so the rest of us had already agreed on an excuse: if anyone mentioned the voice, we’d just claim it was a coincidence.

”True. That alone is a bit weak,” Kagaya admitted. “So, point number two. That story you just told Yamato-san and the others. If you tweak the details, that’s exactly what happened to Sasaki-kun before the summoning. The story about the village head was actually about your interaction with Nagase-sensei. When you talked to her, the bullying only got worse, didn’t it?”

She was right. Once I told Nagase-sensei about Sugita, things spiraled. That was when she started joining in on the bullying herself. But still…

”Stories like that happen everywhere,” I said. “It’s hardly proof that I’m Sasaki. Your point about the voice was actually stronger.”

I was secretly surprised she knew I’d consulted Nagase, though.

”Point number three. I’ve been speaking Japanese this whole time…” Kagaya said.

”Japanese is the language the Heroes use,” I countered. “We have the ‘Language Comprehension’³ skill so we can understand you, and you can understand us.”

”Regarding that ‘Language Comprehension’ skill… I’ve disabled mine. I’m not using it right now,” she said. “So… how is it that you can still understand me?”

 ”—!?”

She got me. I quickly checked Kagaya’s status and saw that ‘Language Comprehension’ was grayed out – inactive. I didn’t have a single comeback for that. Kagaya wore a smug look of total victory.

”I give up. I never thought you’d actually turn the skill off,” I said, raising my hands in surrender and revealing my identity. “Fine. You win. I’m Natsumi Sasaki.”

”So,” I asked, “what do you plan to do about it?”

”Isn’t it obvious?” Kagaya said. She stepped up to face me directly and bowed her head. “Sasaki-kun, regardless of your reasons, you saved my life. Thank you.”

Every other classmate who found out who I was either tried to save their own skin or started groveling. But Kagaya did neither. She just offered sincere gratitude. I could tell it wasn’t sarcasm or irony; she meant it from the bottom of her heart. This was a first for me, and I honestly didn’t know how to react.

”And,” she continued, “I also meant what I said before. If you want me, I’m offering you this body. You can do whatever you like with me. Even the lewd stuff. Though, I’d appreciate it if you didn’t kill me or leave any permanent scars.”

I had said it myself – I planned on making her my servant eventually anyway. But I didn’t expect her to sell herself so willingly. Kagaya always seemed so full of pride; I figured I’d have to break that pride first before making her mine.

”Then, Kagaya… that means from here on, you’re my servant. You’re okay with that?” I asked.

”Of course,” she replied. “But on one condition.”

There it was. I knew she wouldn’t do it for nothing. Still, I was willing to be flexible depending on what she wanted.

 ”What is it?” I asked.

”My condition is that I want to know the unknown. Specifically, your unknowns, Sasaki-kun. Actually, not just yours – I want to know the secrets of this world. Things that aren’t even listed in my Unique Skills.”

”…That’s it? I thought you were going to ask for something impossible,” I said.

”I think it’s plenty impossible. Especially the secrets of this world. A world with ‘Status’ windows like a game is fundamentally strange, isn’t it? Don’t you ever wonder why those things exist?”

Now that she mentioned it, she was right. Why go through the trouble of turning everything into numbers? It was convenient, sure, but strange.

”I want to solve those mysteries. I want to uncover every unknown. And I want you to help me. That’s my condition.”

I remembered Mihiro saying that Kagaya was surprisingly curious and a total information glutton. Well, her condition didn’t actually harm me in any way.

”Fine. Now that you mention it, I’m starting to get curious too,” I said.

”Oh? Does that mean we’re two of a kind, Sasaki-kun?” Kagaya let out a small chuckle. She was usually so expressionless that seeing her laugh felt incredibly fresh.

”Alright then, Kagaya… No, Mashiro. From this moment on, you belong to me.”

”Yes, my Master,” she said, her tone almost playful. “From this day forward, Mashiro Kagaya will serve as Sasaki-kun’s devoted servant. In battle… and with my body.”

Despite the joking tone, it was official. Mashiro was mine.

”By the way, I have to ask,” I said. “When I was being bullied back then, why didn’t you ever do anything?”

”Because I wasn’t interested,” she said simply. “It had nothing to do with me. Besides, I figured it was a better use of my time to study than to bully someone. Not that the lessons were any less boring. That’s why I stayed neutral and didn’t join any group. Is that answer good enough?”

So she didn’t just want to avoid trouble – she genuinely didn’t care. That was very Mashiro-like.

”More importantly, my Master… why don’t you start teaching me about yourself right now? You can teach my body directly.”

She wrapped her arms around mine, pressing herself against me.

”You want to do it here?” I asked. “I don’t mind.”

”No, let’s go to my room,” I said. “I’ll give you a very thorough lesson.”

”Oh? I look forward to it,” Mashiro said, smiling enchantingly as she pressed her body even closer.

She was more aggressive than I expected. Well, I’d find out exactly how she was once we hit the bed. I led Mashiro back to my room.

 Summary:

After the carriage is damaged, Sasaki works to restore order while his companions sleep. He is confronted by Mashiro Kagaya, who has logically deduced his true identity as Natsumi Sasaki by disabling her translation skill. Instead of conflict, Mashiro pledges her loyalty and body to him in exchange for help in uncovering the mysteries of the world’s game-like systems.

 —

 Trivia:

 - The ‘Language Comprehension’ skill works both ways (Heroes to natives and vice versa).

 - Mashiro was technically neutral during Sasaki’s bullying not because of fear, but pure lack of interest.

 - Nagase-sensei’s transition from a bystander to a participant in the bullying was a turning point in Sasaki’s past.

 - Sasaki was planning to break Mashiro’s pride, but she bypassed this by submitting on her own terms

 —

 Character Insight:

Mashiro reveals herself to be a truth-seeker driven by intellectual curiosity rather than social or moral norms. Sasaki shows a rare moment of bewilderment when faced with genuine gratitude instead of the usual fear or groveling from his former classmates.

 —

 Behind the Scenes:

The author uses ‘ruby text’ or stylistic English ‘My The Master’ to highlight Mashiro’s eccentric/gamer personality.

Notes:

• Yamato – Yamato Hina. Student council vice-president. Serious, beautiful, with long straight hair and sharp eyes.

• Honoka – Petite, cute “transistor‑glamour” girl with high‑level healing magic, built like a tiny bomb of lewdness and huge breasts. Started as a cold‑hearted slave mocking Sasaki, then flipped into full devoted “Goshujin‑sama” maid mode, obsessed with his scent and desperate to bear his child. Used to be Hidaka’s obsession, later violated by Sugita, which left her furious and tightly protective of the protagonist. Bashful smiles, but the second anything touches him she goes nuclear. Usually in a sleazy maid outfit, the anti‑aesthetic to Lotte and Nadja’s clean uniforms.

• Yuki – Yuki Chihiro. Height 178 cm, weight 70 kg (Male). Natsumi’s childhood friend. A handsome, athletic top student in the soccer club.

• Kagaya – Female student from Earth. Specialized in sorcery and information gathering. Obsessed with knowledge and has mastered the local language through self-study. Yamato Hina’s classmate. A sorcery specialist who uses a staff. Capable of ‘Fire Wall’ and ‘Aqua Spread’. Has purple hair.

• Sasaki – The protagonist, 168–171 cm and 57–59 kg, with a baby face hidden by black bangs. Once bullied and thought dead by the Sugita gang, he now fights as the gladiator Seven. Wielder of Snatch and Time Compression, he’s the hidden source of many curses and a shapeshifter. Dressed in green scale armor with a blood‑red muffler, he wields dual longswords.

• Nagase – Nagase Emi. A 23-year-old teacher. Height 159 cm, B-W-H: 85-56-83. She looks younger than her real age. She is popular with students because she acts nice, but she is actually a trash teacher who was the first to bully Natsumi Sasaki.

• Sugita – Leader of the Sugita gang and main bully of Natsumi Sasaki, born into heavy police privilege—his grandfather is the Superintendent General, his father a Superintendent—so every mess he causes gets buried. Lean build, sharp features, that cold, arrogant “I can get away with it” stare. Wields the unique skill Steal (窃盗), which he uses to manipulate minds and control women. Once impersonated the hero Sieben with a mask and greatsword, but lost everything and dropped to Level 7. He’s a “Hero” cursed to die and resurrect endlessly—turned into a Lesser Vampire, executed, and ultimately erased from existence.

• Lil – One of the heroines. Height 166 cm, B-W-H: 90-56-90. She is a top-tier beauty with long indigo hair down to her waist, a large scar on her abdomen and sharp golden eyes. She has wolf ears and a tail.

• Natsumi – The protagonist. Height 168 to 171 cm, weight 57 to 59 kg. He has a baby face, but he hides his eyes with his bangs. He was bullied by the Sugita gang just because his name sounded like a girl’s name.

• Mihiro – Post-gender swap of Yuki Chihiro: Height 160 cm, B-W-H: 82-55-80. Futanari. Short haired black hair, handsome.

• Mashiro – Rank one student, beautiful but cold and detached, high mana capacity.
