Chapter 49 The Surprisingly Proactive Sage*
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
As the village head’s house came into view, Yui reluctantly let go of my hand. “Ah, we’re already here,” she said, looking a bit wistful.
”Nyan~~!!”¹ Sarasa-chan shouted, swinging the door open without waiting and yelling as she stepped inside.
”What is it now?!” a defiant voice barked back from the depths of the house. I couldn’t help but chuckle at how consistent she was.
”Come on in!” Sarasa-chan called out, ushering us inside.
Wait, she only said ‘what is it,’ I thought, but I followed her in anyway. Inside, Mama Nyan stood with her arms crossed.
”Hey, don’t just tell people to ‘come on in,’” she scolded.
”Ah, sorry for the intrusion,” I said.
She offered a small smile. “Ah, welcome.” Then, she promptly rapped Sarasa-chan over the head with her knuckles.
”But I did answer…” Sarasa-chan whined, rubbing her head.
Nyan emerged from the back of the house, giving them both a look that clearly asked, What are you two doing?
Ignoring the domestic squabble for a moment, I got down to business. I explained that there were at least several hundred of our people being held as prisoners of war. I told them I was planning a rescue mission and wanted to inform the town before I made my move.
Mama Nyan’s expression soured. “Can you really get that many people out of there?”
”As long as I can get them to an open area, it won’t be a problem,” I replied. “Besides, I don’t plan on showing Dole any mercy. I can handle it.”
”Same as always, I see,” she said. “But if you can pull it off, we’d be more than grateful. I’ll go speak to my mother directly so there aren’t any misunderstandings.”
”Your mother?” I asked, tilting my head.
She explained that her mother was essentially the King of the Dwarves². Nyan’s father was also over there, assisting with the war effort. Apparently, the heads of each race sat on a Council of Elders to handle the country’s leadership.
”That’s perfect. It’ll definitely get the message across,” I said.
”It’s the least we can do,” she insisted. “If there’s anything we can forge for you, just say the word. It’s on the house. Oh, and I’m planning to tell my mother that this village is officially siding with Ibuki.”
”I appreciate that, but don’t push yourselves,” I said. “I’m just happy if we can all get along.”
”No, there are times when we have to push,” she countered. “Things are getting pretty ugly in town.”
I asked her what she meant, and she was happy to elaborate. It turned out the Elves weren’t the only ones in charge; the Dragonewt race³ held about half the power. However, the Dragonewts refused to fight or work for the country. They let the Elves stay in the spotlight just so they could dump all the administrative work on them, while they strutted around town like they owned the place.
The Elves used to have the numbers to keep them in check, but the war had thinned their ranks, leaving them unable to stop the Dragonewts’ tyranny. Sylpha had mentioned something similar-arrogant Dragonewts. If she went out of her way to warn me about them, they had to be bad.
”Luckily, they’re strong but few,” Mama Nyan continued. “Fewer than even the Elves now. You won’t even see them unless you go to the castle.”
”There are only about a hundred of them in total, right?” Nyan asked her mother.
”Yeah. Only a few stay in town. They just see the place as a farm to produce their food.”
Nyan glared at her mother. “I never heard about this.”
Mama Nyan met her gaze with a sharp, heavy look. “I didn’t tell you because you’d just pick a fight with them. They’d kill you in a heartbeat.”
”I wouldn’t if you explained it properly! Stop treating me like a child!”
”Right, right. Nyan is a big girl now,” Mama Nyan said, patting her head. “There, there.”
”Don’t pet me!!” Nyan yelled, her face turning crimson.
”An adult would just let that slide,” I teased. “You know, like, ‘Sure, whatever makes you happy.’”
Nyan huffed. “Fine! Do whatever you want!”
”There, there, there!” I joined in, rubbing her head. Mama Nyan burst out laughing while Nyan went back to being furious. Once things settled down, Mama Nyan turned back to me, her eyes serious.
”Ibuki, I have a favor to ask. A big one.”
”Uh, sure. What is it?”
”Could you… look after this girl? There are almost no men left in the village. If things stay like this, she’ll be alone forever. I want you to give her a child.”
”Wait… isn’t that up to Nyan?”
”She’s already made her feelings clear,” Mama Nyan said. “That’s why I’m asking you.”
I looked over at Nyan. she was staring at the floor, her face bright red. She definitely wasn’t objecting.
”Just get her pregnant. The village will help raise the kid,” she added.
”It’s not that simple,” I argued. “I’ve already got women waiting for me. I want to help with the village’s population issues, but…”
”I see! Well, there’s no rush,” she said quickly. “Just keep it in mind for when things settle down.”
She went on to explain the dire state of the village. There were only two adult men left, both in their forties and already at their limit with the number of wives they could support. There were only three boys growing up. At this rate, the village would simply die out. They’d tried to get people to move back from the town, but the appeals were always ignored. She didn’t want to leave Nyan with a dying village. If Nyan had a child with me-someone who could act as a powerful backer-the village might actually have a future.
As I struggled to find an answer, Yui tugged on my shirt. “Don’t worry about me,” she whispered. “Do what you think is right.”
”Alright,” I said, turning back to them. “I’ll help. I can’t exactly let the village go extinct. But Nyan… are you really okay with this? With me?”
I asked her directly. She looked up, her face still burning. “If it’s Ibuki… I don’t hate the idea.”
”Okay. We’ll talk more about the details the next time you come over,” I said, ending the conversation.
Sarasa-chan stayed behind to pack for the trip to town, so Yui and I started the drive back alone.
”I can see why you were struggling with that,” Yui said from the passenger seat. She seemed genuinely moved by the village’s plight. “It’s about the survival of their entire race.”
”This situation is a bit extreme,” I said. “I’ve seen low populations in human villages, but never something this close to the brink.”
”I understand now,” Yui said with a soft smile. “I realized that it’s impossible for just one person to hog all the happiness in a world like this. And I realized that you were thinking about my happiness from the very beginning, Ibuki-kun.”
She leaned her head on my shoulder and rested her hand on my thigh. I pulled the car over to the side of the road and stopped.
”Did that… tickle?” she giggled.
I didn’t answer. I just pulled her into a kiss. I was just happy-happy that she understood without me having to find the words. Yui seemed surprised at first, but she quickly melted into it, her eyes turning provocative.
I let my hand slide over her chest, and she let out a soft, pleased moan. It was a side of her I hadn’t seen since we reunited.
”Look at you… you’re so cute,” I whispered.
”Really? You think so?” she teased, giving me another quick kiss. “You better watch out, Ibuki-kun. I might just make you lose your cool.”
She climbed over the center console, settling into my lap despite the cramped space.
”Can I… try my best?” she whispered.
”Go for it,” I said.
I checked my Sensingability⁴. No one was around. Even if someone approached, I’d know long before they saw anything.
”Umm… what do I do next?” Yui asked, looking a bit lost.
”It’s a bit tight in here. Let’s make this easier.”
I used my Storage skill to tuck our clothes away, leaving us both bare.
”Hey, that’s cheating!” she giggled, but she clung to me tightly.
I pulled her hips closer, the friction between us sending a jolt through both of us.
”Is it really okay to do this… outside?” she whispered.
”If someone comes, we’ll just give them a show,” I joked.
”You idiot! No way!”
”I’m kidding. I don’t want anyone else seeing you like this.”
”Good…” she murmured. She started to move her hips, searching for that perfect rhythm. We sank into a deep kiss, the air in the car growing thick and heavy. She was already slick with heat, her body trembling with anticipation. I guided myself to her entrance.
”Haa… haa… okay. Do it…”
I eased inside. She gasped, her body tensing for a moment.
”Does it hurt?” I asked.
”I think… I’m okay,” she whispered, looking a little dazed. “Even though it’s my first time…”
I felt a wave of relief. Despite everything she’d been through under Dole, he’d never touched her like this. I was glad I’d gotten to her first.
”They say you can lose it just from heavy exercise,” I said softly, trying to relax her. “But if you aren’t in pain, can I pick up the pace?”
”No… not yet. I’m still a little scared. Be gentle.”
”Whatever you want, Princess,” I whispered. She pulled me into another kiss, her movements becoming more urgent. The car was filled with the sounds of shifting weight and wet, rhythmic friction.
”Nn… ah… Ibuki-kun… it’s too much…”
She arched her back, her moans echoing in the small space. I leaned down to bite at her neck, my own pace quickening.
”Ahhh! Wait, when you move like that… it’s incredible!”
”You know, I have magic that can heighten your sensitivity,” I said, pausing for a second. “Want me to use it?”
She blinked, her face suddenly going flat. “What?”
The idea seemed to genuinely startle her. “Why would you even need to learn something like that? It already feels good enough!”
”I didn’t exactly ‘learn’ it; it’s just a natural phenomenon,” I explained. “I called it magic, but it’s really just that when our Mana starts to sync up, your body naturally becomes more responsive. You know?”
My explanation seemed to satisfy her, but a new problem had surfaced.
”A-ah. I see… so that’s unavoidable!? But things are already getting pretty bad! To be honest, I don’t know if I can keep my act together…”
”It’s alright. We’ve still got a long way to go,” I replied with a laugh. Yui shot me a miffed look and gave me a playful little nip before immediately letting go to lick the spot over and over.
”You’ve really taken a liking to that, haven’t you?” I asked.
”Yeah. Ibuki Tanaka’s body is so s*xy, it just makes me want to bite you.”
”Pretty sure you’re the s*xy one here, Yui.”
”It’s you, Ibuki! Look at how much you’ve swollen! Ah…♡”
Yui began to grind her hips, letting out rhythmic moans. It was a surreal sensation, having s*x with my school upperclassman in an isekai⁵. As that thought crossed my mind, the issue of birth control surfaced.
”Now that I think about it, what should we do about protection? I’m fine either way, as long as you’re going to be my wife.”
”Wait, I will! I’ll be your wife, so do it inside! Please!” she cried.
”Are you sure?”
”Yes! I’ll be fine! If it’s with the people who promised to support us, it’ll work out! Besides, if I’m told I can’t have this, I don’t think I’d have the confidence to keep living in a world like this…”
I pulled Yui into a tight embrace as she looked on the verge of tears.
”Then support me, too. I’ll cherish you,” I said.
”Mnh… just don’t ever throw me away…”
”As if I could! You’re my woman now, Yui!”
”Yes! Yes!! Please! Take me! Take all of me!”
She clung to me, overwhelmed. I slammed my hips against hers with a rhythmic, wet slap, and she immediately arched her back.
”Uwaaaaaah!” Yui screamed, her voice raw and uninhibited, her hair flying wild.
”Ah! Ahh!! It’s… it’s too much… No, no, no! Aaaaaah! I’m—I’m c**ming!”
Her hips spasmed violently, and a thin trail of drool escaped her lips. As I leaned down to lick it away, Yui gave me a wanton, heavy-lidded smile. Seeing that look on her face set me off again.
”Wait! No! Not—not yet! I can’t! Ah♡ No, no, no♡ It’s… I’m not ready… but it feels so good♡”
It seemed like she’d already looped back around for a second round of pleasure, her voice once again melting with bliss.
”Aaaaaah♡ It’s incredible♡ My head is going totally white♡ Ah, no! It’s coming again! It’s already coming!!”
The pace increased, our bodies slapping together in the cramped space. Yui was right on the edge again. I felt myself reaching the limit, too. I ignored her frantic protests and pushed forward.
”Take all of it. You’re the one who told me to take you with everything I had, right?”
I whispered it into her ear. She let out a high-pitched, adorable cry as her hips shuddered in one last violent tremor. I came right along with her.
Splurt! Spluuurt!
”Uwaaaaaah! It’s… it’s coming out… You’re filling me up! Uwaaaaaah♡”
I held her tight, savoring the afterglow. Yui’s ragged, exhausted breaths hit my shoulder.
”You okay?” I asked.
”No… you’ve completely marked me…”
”Well, yeah. You’re mine now.”
”Ehehe♡ Jeez… you went way too hard♡”
Her eyes were soft with exhaustion, but her voice was brimming with happiness. We stayed locked in that naked embrace for a while. Once she recovered, she showed an unexpectedly playful side, licking me and blowing on my skin. Eventually, we got dressed and I started the car back up.
”Just so you know, there are a few others who are still waiting for their turn. It’s going to be hard to find much alone time, but I’m counting on you to understand, okay?”
I felt a bit guilty bringing it up right after her first time, but honesty was better than a surprise later.
”Wait, really!? Was it okay for me to go first…?” she asked.
”It’s fine. I’ve made it a matter of initiative. Besides, everyone except Lisha was originally a slave⁶. Given my position, it felt wrong for me to be the one to push them into it.”
”What!? Those people were former slaves!? They look like they would have cost a fortune…”
Surprisingly, she took the news in stride. I took my time explaining how I ended up here.
”I see. Since you’re a Production Class⁷, you needed a Combat Class⁸… and since it wouldn’t look right for a guildmaster of the Merchant Guild Haru⁹ to be without a wife, it was a good match. And since you aren’t just after their bodies, you haven’t touched the ones who haven’t asked yet…”
”I’m glad I have such a sharp wife. Honestly, I thought you’d call me a harem bastard and hate me forever.”
”Well, I can see why you’d worry… but I get it. With a story like that, I can accept it.”
We reached the mansion just as the conversation ended. I gave Yui a kiss and we stepped out. Yui stood there staring at the vehicle with a puzzled look.
”I was just riding in it like it was normal, but isn’t it insane that you can make something like this with a skill¹⁰?”
”Tell me about it. Though really, I’m just using a magic tool¹¹ to generate wind to turn the gears. As long as you can shape the parts with a skill, I bet other Production Classes could do something similar.”
It was a primitive construction, basically the same principle as a bicycle’s gears. I’m sure my upperclassmen back home could figure out the mechanics. Though, since my skill optimized the design, friction and load were automatically minimized, which is why it handled unpaved roads so smoothly.
As we chatted, we entered the mansion and were informed that a guest had arrived. It was Isaac, the chief of the Wing-kin¹². I wondered what he wanted as Yui and I headed into the living room.

- Ibuki is a Production Class, which usually lacks direct combat power.
- Most of Ibuki’s household were originally slaves he purchased.

Character Insight:
Yui demonstrates significant emotional maturity and selflessness by encouraging Ibuki to help the village through polygamy/breeding. Ibuki shows his ‘Crafter’ nature by treating even intimate biological reactions as a matter of magical mechanics and efficiency.
Yui demonstrates intense abandonment issues, likely stemming from the trauma of being transported to a new world. Ibuki shows pragmatic honesty by disclosing his other relationships immediately after intimacy, prioritizing long-term trust over short-term comfort.
—
Behind the Scenes:
The author uses this chapter to pivot from pure war-planning to establishing the long-term stakes of race survival and harem expansion typical of the genre.
The author utilizes the ‘Production Class’ trope to justify modern technology (like cars) in a fantasy setting by combining magic tools with mechanical engineering concepts.
