Volume 2 Chapter 1 True Value

”Back attack! We’ve got five Skeletons! Makoto, Takuya, Kenta-kun¹—wipe those three out first! I’ll stall these guys with magic!” I shouted.

 ”Understood-ssu!” Kazuya replied.

”Earth Wall! Kazuya, get a summon over here! I need a vanguard type!”

 ”You got it-ssu!”

A one-armed female knight with a prosthetic limb materialized. She slipped through the narrow gap between the conjured earth and the cave wall, her sword biting into the Skeletons. Despite her slender frame, she wasn’t losing an inch of ground.

”Alright! Our side is clear! We’re coming to help!”

”I shall join the fray as well-degozaru!” Takuya added.

A few minutes later, the Skeletons were nothing but bone meal. This was the third floor of the dungeon, where Skeletons were the primary threat.

”Phew. We took a hit from behind, but we handled it without any real scares,” I said, catching his breath.

”Indeed. Our stats are more than enough for this-ssu,” Kazuya noted. “Takuya-shi, wouldn’t you have been better off starting on that side?”

”With a passage this wide, Daisuke-dono’s² wall and Kazuya-dono’s summoning skills are enough to hold the line, so this was for the best-degozaru,” Takuya replied. “My Stealth is finally starting to become halfway decent-degozaru.”

”My summons are leveling up-ssu, too. I’m starting to have a lot more options-ssu,” Kazuya said.

”Well, in the beginning, the Summoning Skill and Takuya’s role overlapped too much, so…”

Our group held a brief debriefing before getting back to the grind. Even when being cautious, an occasional ambush was inevitable. Since the enemies here weren’t a major threat, Danger Sense³ usually didn’t ping until they were practically on top of them. (It’s a useful skill, but it’s not omnipotent. I should probably look into getting Presence Detection for scouting soon.)

After finishing the hunt, we left the dungeon and reported to the Guild. We called it a day and went our separate ways.

One month had passed since the reincarnation. Thanks to the steady dungeon crawling, I had hit Level 18. My total Ability Score was 420—a massive jump from where I started. My adventurer rank had also climbed from the rookie F-rank to the journeyman E-rank, and the pay was starting to reflect that.

Lately, our team had been hitting the third floor hard. Skeleton skull fragments were a prime alchemy ingredient, and the Guild bought them alongside the Magic Stones. Once I leveled up more, we could move to the fourth floor to hunt wolves for their fur, fangs, and meat.

Over the last month, my skill list had grown by eight: Mana Sensing, Healing Magic Boost, Herculean Strength, Fleetfoot, Earth Magic, Lightning Magic, Strike Resistance, and Pain Resistance—plus Disguise. I’d earned the resistance skills the hard way, simply by letting monsters use me as a punching bag until the system acknowledged my suffering.

Mana Sensing was for efficiency; I hoped to eventually cast magic without the system’s crutch. Fleetfoot was a lower-tier version of the Godspeed skill Juliet used, providing a temporary AGI buff, while Herculean Strength did the same for STR. Since my growth was stuck at C-rank, I needed every advantage. Lightning Magic was a specialized pick for the wolves on the next floor, as Skeletons were mostly immune to it.

Then there was the outlier: Disguise. I had a very specific reason for taking it.

About a week after the reincarnation, I realized my level was pulling ahead of the others. At first, I thought my daily “Private Power Generation (m**urbation)” was just giving me a minor edge. But after a few more days, I realized my Skill levels were skyrocketing too. After some testing, the numbers were clear:

 * Private Power Generation (m**urbation) grants 10% of the EXP required for a Character Level up.

 * Skill EXP grants 10% of the EXP required for a Skill Level up.

The 1% buff from my Appraisal was actually 10% thanks to the Great God’s blessing. (This is insane. Even if I never fight, just by having a daily session, I’ll gain 36 levels a year. Combined with actual combat, I’ll be Level 120 within three years. The historical record is Level 90. I’m going to shatter it.)

The real issue was the Skill levels. Normally, a Skill requires ten times more EXP for every level. Reaching Level 8 would take a normal person 300 years of constant use. But I could max a Skill in 90 days. My Swordsmanship was already at Level 7, while Kenta-kun was likely still at 4.

While most Skills were hidden, some evolutions would give me away. Strike Resistance eventually becomes Greater Strike Resistance—a skill usually reserved for monsters or those with specific Blessings. If people saw that, they’d ask questions. But the real danger was Item Box. The capacity followed a terrifying formula:

 Side length a = (Skill Level)^(Skill Level) * 0.01 (meters)

 Volume V = a^3 (cubic meters)

At Level 1, it’s a useless 1 cubic centimeter. But at Level 7? One side is over 8 kilometers long. That isn’t a bag; it’s a national strategic resource. If a kingdom found out, they’d treat me as a walking logistics hub or a threat to be assassinated. Until I had the power to protect myself, I had to stay hidden. That was the purpose of Disguise—to fake my stats and keep the world at arm’s length.

This brought my mind to the Hero Party. Shouta-kun and Ren-kun seemed fine, but Osamu and Otto were scumbags who would definitely cause trouble if they saw my true potential. I needed intel on them, but their worlds were currently miles apart.

”Oh, if it isn’t Daisuke-san. Long time no see.”

”Mercedes? Hey, it’s been a while.”

It was Mercedes, looking like she was on patrol. As a knight, she was likely training with the Hero Party. She was the perfect lead.

”Perfect timing, Mercedes. Want to grab some food?” I asked.

”Is this… a date invite? Wow. I mean, I know I’m a pure, lovely, beautiful girl knight, but you’re just not my type, Daisuke-san. Sorry! I’m just not feeling that spark!”

”It’s not a date, you narcissist! I just have some stuff to ask you, and it’s not for standing around in the street,” I snapped.

”I suppose I can spare some time. I’m on duty now, but I’m free in three days. As long as you don’t mind if a friend of mine comes along.”

 I froze. (No way… Mercedes actually has a friend…)

”…Are you thinking something incredibly rude right now?”

”No, I’m just… moved. I’m genuinely moved that you actually have a social life.”

 ”That is definitely something rude!”

”My bad, my bad. It’s a joke. Three days from now is my day off anyway. Bring your friend, it’s fine. Let’s set a time…”

After settling the details, I watched her walk away, already planning my interrogation.

 Summary:

Daisuke’s party successfully navigates a skeleton ambush in the dungeon’s third floor. Daisuke realizes his ‘Private Power Generation’ skill is exponentially boosting his levels and skill experience. To avoid unwanted attention due to his god-tier growth, especially his massive Item Box, he uses Disguise while seeking info on the Hero Party from the knight Mercedes.

 —

 Trivia:

 - The ’10x Experience Gain’ blessing applies to both base level and skill level.

 - Skill Level 8 is the historical human limit; Daisuke will hit Level 10 in 90 days.

 - Item Box capacity is exponential, becoming city-sized at high levels.

 - Daisuke has C-rank growth, meaning he needs higher levels to match a Hero’s base stats

 —

 Character Insight:

Daisuke is transitioning from a survival mindset to a long-term strategic one, recognizing his potential as a ‘national strategic resource.’ Mercedes shows a surprising social side by having a ‘friend,’ much to Daisuke’s amusement.

 Behind the Scenes:

The author uses LitRPG math to ground the ‘overpowered’ trope in a specific, logistical scale.

 —

 TL Notes:

1 -kun: Honorific usually for younger males or peers.

2 -dono: Highly formal, archaic honorific used by samurai or in official settings.

3 Danger Sense: A passive skill common in LitRPG for detecting immediate threats.

4 Private Power Generation: Japanese euphemism for m**urbation (jikahatsuden).

5 Item Box: A standard isekai trope for infinite/large inventory storage.

• Juliet – Beastman adventurer, 150 cm tall, blue bob hair, light armor, large chest, dual‑wielder with Idaten skill who wields a two‑handed sword. Short‑tempered, snarky instructor of the Twin Winds duo, bluntly insults the protagonist and snaps at Daisuke’s teasing about her age and status.

His body was severely damaged in the previous world.

Intelligent, elite in combat and destruction magic, she knows guild mechanics and sees dungeons as divine trials.
