Volume 5 Chapter 1 Camilla’s Tribulation

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Just a while ago, I’d gotten hot and heavy with Gerta, but tonight I asked Juliet to join me. Lately, she’d been acting all lovey-dovey, so when I gently caressed her ample chest, she melted into my arms, begging for a kiss. “Daisuke… I love you…” Her cuteness was too much to handle, and I ended up going wild, pushing her to the edge. Still, we didn’t stop kissing, and we enjoyed a sweet, passionate night. ※This is a fantasy.

 ――――――――――

I managed to take Camilla in safely, so even though it was late, I decided to check her stats. If she’s a combat class, we can adventure together; if not, I’ll find her a fitting job. Honestly, I can’t see her wanting to work separately from me now, but assessing her skills is key.

”Nice to meet you again, Camilla. Can I use ‘Appraisal’ to check your abilities?”

”Yes, please do, Master! Check them out!”

Camilla beamed, wagging her tail excitedly. She seemed almost eager to be appraised. Guess she trusts me.

‘Appraisal’

 Name: Camilla (14)

 Lv: 3

 HP: 30

 MP: 39

 Status: Slave (Master: Daisuke)

 Class: Illusionist

 Titles: None

 Blessings: None

 Ability:

 STR 21

 VIT 21

 AGI 21

 DEX 30

 INT 39

 Experience: 7/54

 Skill Points: 30

 ――――――――――

 Her level is so low!

She’s barely been trained. At this rate, she’s too vulnerable. Once the dungeon reopens, I’ll start training her. No, first we’ll hunt rabbits in the plains.

The Illusionist class is a Sorceress derivative—a combat class. Good. Among magic skills, she excels in illusion magic, making her a great debuffer. Unlike Liese, she’s a pure support, so I’ll need to keep her safe.

Her Fire Magic aptitude likely comes from foxes being linked to foxfire. Unlike illusion magic, it’s useful for hauling, which is why its level is higher. The Carrying skill was probably self-taught. Her Pain Resistance, Fear Resistance, and Cold Resistance levels speak to her hardships. I pulled her into a tight hug.

 ”Master?”

”From now on, let’s have fun together.”

 ”Yes! I’m having fun now!”

Camilla’s resilience is so endearing that I hugged her again before letting go. I decided to triple Gerta’s punishment level.

”Since Camilla’s an Illusionist, we’ll adventure together. Sound good?”

”Yes! I want to be with Master!”

 Her eyes sparkled with excitement.

”Then starting tomorrow, you’re joining the hunts.”

 ”Yes!”

When it was time to sleep, Camilla snuggled up to me, so I used her as a body pillow. Or was I hers? If it makes her happy, I’ll be her pillow anytime.

Except for a few exceptions, there’s no inherent superiority or inferiority in ability scores between classes. They generally grow at a C rate.

My class has always been C across the board, but for example, Liese’s Lancer, Camilla’s Illusionist, and Gerta’s High-Strength Warrior have the following growth rates:

 Lancer Illusionist High-Strength Warrior

 HP: B C B

 MP: D B D

 STR: B D A

 VIT: C D B

 AGI: C D C

 DEX: B C D

 INT: D B D

 MND: D B D

Using C as the baseline, S is +3, A is +2, B is +1, D is -1, E is -2, and F is -3. The total of all ability scores sums to ±0. This applies not only to combat classes but to almost all classes. In the Seven Pillar Religion, or rather in this world, putting classes in a hierarchy is taboo, so it’s unofficial, but they’re sometimes called “normal classes.”

The exceptions are classes with “Saint” in their name, including Saint and Holy classes. Unofficially called “advanced classes,” these have a total value of +10. They generally have no scores below C, making them well-rounded with no weaknesses. They’re rare and valuable, and above all, quite powerful. Otto’s Heavy Warrior is a normal class, so the lack of ability scores in the Hero Party is a real issue. Though with Otto, the problem is more his personality than his abilities.

Even higher are Heroes, with a total value of +15 to +20. A Hero’s ability scores aren’t fixed; they vary depending on whether they’re a vanguard or rearguard type. Even so, their lowest score is usually C, and typically B or higher. The current Hero, Shouta, has a total value of +18, which is average for a Hero.

The next day, I first went to buy Camilla’s weapons and armor. It was at Ralph-san’s usual workshop. I introduced Camilla to Miryam-san, but as expected, she didn’t ask any questions. I asked Makoto to pass a note about Camilla, just as she had done for Liese.

Come to think of it, Kazuya left on a journey right after introducing “her.” I haven’t heard that Takuya left the capital, but I haven’t seen him. I introduced Liese to Kenta-kun when I saw him at the guild. He’ll probably be around for a while, but he might leave on a journey after this “Dungeon Upheaval.” He’d mentioned something like that before.

After shopping, I headed to the Adventurers’ Guild, where everyone was talking about the Dungeon Upheaval finally being over. It’s finally over, huh. But it seems we can’t enter for a few days.

I asked Dietlinde-san at the guild counter, and as expected, the dungeon is still closed. There’s no choice but to hunt rabbits in the plains as planned.

As I was leaving the guild to head to the plains, I ran into the Female Transferee Party, “Yamato Nadeshiko.”

 ”Good morning, everyone.”

 ”Oh, Daisuke-kun. Rin-chan said you were safe… but…”

Yumiko-san started off cheerful, but her expression gradually turned stern. Huh? Did I do something?

 ”Daisuke-kun, what’s with that child?”

 ”Huh? Rin didn’t tell you?”

I looked at Rin, who quickly averted her eyes. No way, she forgot!

”Let’s talk over there for a moment?”

 ”Yes…”

 ”…Camilla, stay here.”

 ”Master…?”

”It’s okay. Go ahead. Liese, you too.”

 ”Understood.”

Explaining to Yumiko-san was tough. Since it was the second time, she went into lecture mode right away. In the end, she understood, but she was quite angry.

”Sigh… well, I get that rescuing Camilla-chan was urgent, and Rin-chan shares some responsibility for not explaining, but don’t just keep adding to your group like this?”

 ”Yes, I reflect on that.”

Honestly, there weren’t many chances to consult them this time, but it’s not like there were none. The evening we escaped the dungeon two days ago, they were at the inn. I was so focused on Camilla that I left it to Rin, which was my mistake.

 ”Master…”

”It’s okay, Camilla. I won’t abandon you now, and everyone just cares about you.”

 ”Yes!”

Camilla looked worried, but after I petted her head, she smiled brightly. So cute.

 ”So that’s Camilla-chan, huh.”

”Mizuki will be happy to hear about her. Daisuke-san, can you introduce them?”

”I don’t mind, but is it okay to go there? No men allowed or anything?”

Mizuki would definitely be happy to meet Camilla. Camilla was holding my hand, looking satisfied and wagging her tail, with no signs of objection.

”I think it’s fine. I’ll accompany you and make the introduction, if you’d like?”

”Yeah, that would help. Thanks, Hina.”

Serious Hina seemed determined to take responsibility for her proposal.

”Oh, Hina’s going on a date with Daisuke-san? Is this the makeup thank-you?”

 ”D-D-Date!? That’s not what I meant!? Ahhh!”

”Well, whether it’s a date or not, it’s enough of a thank-you. I’m counting on you, Hina.”

 ”Y-Yes!”

Nanami’s unnecessary comment made Hina stiffen up completely. She probably never went on a date in her previous life… though I can’t talk.

”Camilla-chan is so cute~ I just want to hug her~”

 ”…Agreed.”

 ”I concur as well!”

 ”Camilla’s popular, huh.”

Misaki-san, Rin, and Mai, the busty trio, hugging Camilla is enviable and annoying. I couldn’t help but feel jealous.

 ”Master?”

”Sorry, just kidding. If Camilla’s okay with it, you can be friends with Rin and the others too.”

 ”Yes.”

Hmm, she doesn’t seem particularly eager to go over there, but she’s not opposed either. Camilla’s a bit shy around people. I’m sure she’ll naturally become friends with them after a few meetings.

* * *

”Camilla, are you okay with hunting monsters?”

 ”Yes!”

We headed to the plains and started hunting Horn Rabbits. Camilla doesn’t seem to have any aversion to hunting monsters. Well, Liese was the same, so it’s probably normal for people in this world.

First, I used aura detection to find Horn Rabbits. With the dungeon closed, there are probably a lot fewer of them. The forest is probably in a similar state. If the dungeon doesn’t reopen soon, the food situation, especially meat, will be dire. I still have some Orc and Minotaur meat stockpiled, but if I keep providing it to the inn, it’ll run out quickly. I’ll have to butcher and cook it myself. Liese probably won’t ask for it directly, but I’m sure she’d love to eat it, and Camilla likes meat too. Since we’re out, I’ll grill some meat on the way back. I can’t grill it in the inn’s yard, after all.

”Camilla, can you use illusion magic on that rabbit over there?”

 ”Yes!”

”Once Camilla uses illusion magic, Liese, take it down.”

 ”Understood.”

Camilla tried hard to cast illusion magic, but unfortunately, at skill level 1, it had almost no effect. The rabbit broke free and charged at us.

 ”Liese.”

 ”Yes!”

Of course, Liese had no trouble, finishing it with a single thrust. Camilla has experience facing monsters as a porter, so she didn’t panic. Or maybe it’s her Fear Resistance?

 ”Master…”

”It’s okay. Once your skill level rises, it’ll work properly.”

 ”Yes!”

Camilla was a bit discouraged that her illusion magic was broken so easily, but everyone starts like that. I petted her head to encourage her, and she quickly smiled.

We continued hunting, but Camilla’s level didn’t rise. Horn Rabbits give little experience, and there weren’t many of them, so it couldn’t be helped. Her illusion magic skill level did rise, so I’ll call it a success for today. Once the dungeon reopens, we’ll need to power-level her.

Notes:

• Daisuke – Mid‑40s Japanese adventurer, reincarnated from another world, wears a ten‑year‑old watch and Radiant Iron gear. B‑Rank with high AGI/DEX, he wields Healing, Fire magic, Ground Shrink and Flash Move. Mentor to Liese, Camilla and Rin, he leads a growing household, cares for slaves, and gained fame after beating Gerta. He avoids the spotlight, dates Ines, knows modern cosmetics, and juggles multiple relationships while exploring the continent.

• Juliet – 150 cm cat‑kin beastman with blue bob hair, cat ears and tail, large chest, light armor, dual‑wielder Idaten skill, wielding a two‑handed sword. Gale Party scout in hot pants, gear shatters after Orc fights. Prickly tsundere, avoids lewd talk, nekojita palate; short‑tempered Twin Winds instructor who insults the protagonist, snaps at Daisuke’s teasing about age/rank, yet begins to smile at him. Companion of Daisuke, shows affection, wears a fluttery shirt and short miniskirt, from the Ducal Capital.

• Gerta – B‑Rank adventurer and leader of the Beast Fang party; a towering, muscular beast‑woman over 190 cm tall with golden‑brown, flipping medium hair, jagged teeth, a lion‑like tail and a wild, predatory aura. She wields a greatsword, uses Maten, Magic Blade and Roar, thrives on strength, masochistic in combat and intimacy, and values power above all.

• Camilla – 14‑year‑old fox‑type beastkin slave, ~140 cm, thin, fluffy tail, twitching ears, wears accessories. Formerly Gerta’s slave, rescued after a wolf attack and dungeon upheaval. Class: Illusionist with Illusion & Fire magic; high INT/MND. Traumatized, clingy, calls Daisuke “Master,” seeks his scent, stays at the inn, becomes happy with his affection, fears abandonment.

• Liese – Dragonewt girl, 16, grey‑blue hair, thick horns, grey scales on neck and limbs, 170 cm tall, thin chest, tail that thumps when excited. Lancer‑class spear user, Daisuke’s first slave and loyal vanguard at the inn; greets him formally on return. Trained at Grünewald guild, Level 14 Two Conflicting Dragons sealing fire/water, loves meat and reading, assists Camilla (especially bathing).

• Otto – Heavy Warrior, once the 52‑level tank of the Hero Party and a doctor‑degree holder, now a creepy 50‑year‑old mind trapped in a youthful body. He dons bulky armor and a stern face, is narcissistic, status‑obsessed and manipulative, obedient to Shouta and Takumi but tyrannical toward Ren and staff, pretends to mentor yet is a nuisance. Expelled from the Hero’s Party, he is delusional, sociopathic, and cares only for his own advancement.

• Shouta – 17‑year‑old silver‑haired, sharp‑eyed former Student Council President and kendo captain, now Sword Saint Hero of Slash and Lightning wielding Beacon of Hope. He leads the Hero Party, travels with handlers, is coldly pragmatic and shuns caretakers. Also the Hero who expelled Otto and allegedly gave him secret orders.

• Makoto – Leeman, a former Earth‑summoned blacksmith turned slimmer, clear‑skinned goblin‑tank, wields a massive shield and heavy armor. He speaks stiff samurai‑style “sogashi,” apprentices under Ralph, and is called Makoto‑san by Milliam, an open lolicon who declares “cuteness is justice.” He admires an elegant elven girl, balances his loli obsession with reverence for grace, and as a transferee with growth rate works to impress Miryam.

• Miryam – A Dwarf who works at Ralph’s blacksmith shop. Described as having a child-like appearance (loli dwarf).

• Ralph – Ralph-san, a dwarf blacksmith and shop owner, runs his workshop with pride, values rest days, and holds the rank of Captain. He is Milliam’s father and Miryam’s employer/associate.

• Kazuya – Scrawny, low‑key Leeman summoner and lazy‑talking geek with vanished freckles, clutching a 2‑D little brother. He grades his 20+ summoning magic alone, treats summons as emotional anchors, and obsessively pulls a specific past‑life character. A Transferee and Phantom Summoner, former gacha whale who spent a year in the new world solely to summon his favorite fictional character, planning to depart soon.

• Takuya – Black-garbed masked ninja, exiled from the Hero’s party, now a Leemans member and mid-guard in Daisuke’s Salarymen crew; maintains a faux-samurai persona with archaic speech and obsessive yandere fandom, yet remains stoic and pragmatic in combat. Reincarnated, he once sought B-Rank to retire and serve a chosen one—now quietly devoted to his crew, blending stealth, geeky anime/game enthusiasm, and unwavering loyalty beneath his mask. Trains at level 20+, joins the ‘Three Idiots’ for vital-point strikes; cool-headed by default but erupts into energetic excitement upon encountering familiar anime or game content.

• Kenta – Black‑haired, handsome reincarnated mage‑swordsman with an ice‑coated blade, a gentleman of Leemans and “Three Idiots” member. He serves Salarymans and Leemans, fights beside Daisuke (Lv20+), appears drained after a red‑light clash, hesitates to kill, watches the hero’s hidden strength, bonds with adventurers, dates Karina, now wields high Water Magic aptitude and joins Alberto’s party. A transferee who barely knows the summoned character feels left out of the group’s excitement.

• Dietlinde – Dietlinde, a slender sheep-beastwoman with white curly hair and tiny horns, serves as a receptionist in the Maultasche Royal Capital Adventurer’s Guild, exuding cool, noble poise with quiet low-heel clicks. Though overburdened and often exhausted, she maintains composed grace, admiring unattainable cosmetics and soothing herself with calming scents. She greets Daisuke with professional warmth, silently worries for his safety, and, despite her distant air, quietly accepts his recovery magic and thoughtful gifts—his quiet care a rare comfort in her relentless duties.

• Rin – Tall, large‑breasted high‑school‑type B‑rank adventurer with long shaggy hair and thick chest armor, projecting a cool‑beauty façade. Quiet and blunt, she wields ice magic for first aid, protects Camilla, and feels a debt to a rescued beast‑man child, dominating Daisuke’s group.

• Yumiko – Petite 155 cm Bow Saint, medium‑length hair, thin chest armor, appears 17 and is the eldest Transferee girl. A veteran housewife, skilled cook, maternal and authoritative, she serves as the party’s moral compass and grounding presence, polite and reserved, former corporate worker and ex‑Kyudo club member seeking emotional closure.

• Mizuki – 165 cm tall, standard‑built girl with long hair, wearing modest chest armor and speaking politely; reincarnated as a Saint‑class high‑school student and JK Party member, highly formal and pious, despising vanity. She bravely confronts slave abuse, earns respect by defending the vulnerable, and often joins the protagonist’s circle at the temple, aligning with Nanami’s party. Her location is known to the protagonist.

• Hina – 160 cm tall, muscular, beautiful girl‑knight with a ponytail and thin chest armor, exuding an honest, serious aura. Reincarnated as an Instant Swordswoman high‑schooler, she’s level‑headed, fiercely protective of Mizuki (ex‑basketball club member of the JK Party) and the straight‑man to Nanami’s antics. Yet in the transferee party she’s clumsy, shy, easily embarrassed, and blurts her thoughts.

• Nanami – A 165 cm slender high-school girl with short hair and modest chest armor, nicknamed Mermaid for her underwater diving skills, she’s a stealth-class transferee in the all-female JK Party—playful, teasing, and unpredictably jack-in-the-box-like, she gathers intel by befriending peers, slips effortlessly into school life, and famously kissed Daisuke on the cheek while ribbing him about his situation.

• Misaki – 165 cm tall, standard build, semi-long hair, thick chest armor; calm, kind older-sister aura. Priest of the Working Women Party and former nurse, also Leemans member who cared for elders and does physical labor. In combat she surprises with fierce mace strikes. Laid-back transferee noted for a large chest and relaxed demeanor.

• Mai – 175 cm tall, toned and athletic, she dons thick chest armor and a single ponytail, giving a slightly masculine look. War Saint Vanguard of the Working Women Party and Leemans member — former gym instructor, adventure lover, brisk speaker — also in the transferee party, recalling martial‑arts tournament knowledge from a past life.
