Volume 5 Chapter 18 Opening the Shop
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Yesterday, after my date with the three of them, I went to the brothel Daydream (BSS) and enjoyed myself with Regina-san. During the pillow talk during our break, I asked Regina-san, “I have lovers, but will you still come to me?” but she didn’t nod yes, saying, “I don’t mind that you have lovers, but not yet ♡.”
I felt frustrated, so after we resumed, I made her climax over and over. She told me, “Geez, even if you do that much, it’s still a no ♡. But I’m happy for the sentiment ♡,” so I left it at that for yesterday. The feeling isn’t bad, but I’m missing that final push. I’m thinking about it, but it’s going to take a little more time…
When I got home, Camilla was naturally awake, while Liese and Ilse were asleep. I added the bed I bought at the Beunemünde merchant guild to Liese’s room, making it a shared room for Liese and Ilse. Eventually, I want Camilla to sleep there too, but for now, it’s fine. I have a bed for Camilla in my room, but in the end, she isn’t using it.
My partner for last night’s Private Power Generation¹ (m**urbation) was Ines. Her moist eyes, passionate kisses, and innocent reactions were wonderful. Since I had hugged all three of them when we parted, I let myself enjoy the memory of those vivid sensations.
——————–
From today, we resume dungeon exploration. With Ilse joining, the efficiency of leveling up will drop, but it can’t be helped since I have to raise all three of them. Ilse hadn’t leveled up from Level 5 since I met her about a year ago. In a sense, is that proof she was working seriously at the merchant guild?
By the way, Ilse’s current Status looks like this:
——————–
Race: Beastman
Gender: Female
Name: Ilse (17)
Lv: 5
HP: 42
MP: 60
Status: Slave (Master: Daisuke)
Class: Archer
Titles:
Blessings:
Ability: STR 78
VIT 42
AGI 60
DEX 78
INT 60
MND 60
Skills: Archery Aptitude, Archery (3), Butchering (1), Scavenger (2), Poison Resistance (1), Fortitude (3), Transport (3), Faint Resistance (1)
Experience: 72/250
Skill Points: 50
——————–
She must have eaten some incredibly strange things around the time of the Bandits, because she’s acquired the Scavenger skill. Having Poison Resistance is likely part of that. It’s a wonder she didn’t die. The fact that she didn’t break during the spankings or tickling was probably due to the Fortitude skill. On the other hand, because she worked seriously after being taken in by Elmer-san, her Transport skill level is high. Her Faint Resistance is the result of her fainting repeatedly during her monthly “rewards.”
Looking at her Ability scores, as expected of a rearguard, her HP and VIT are low, but her STR and DEX are high. If we have a tank, I can expect her to be quite active. I wonder if I should ask Yumiko-san, the Bow Saint, to coach her? Eventually, I’ll have to go leveling with just Liese, so I’ll need to leave Camilla and Ilse with someone.
For today, the priority is raising Ilse’s level. We’ll mainly hunt Orcs and Rock Lizards on the 11th floor. Since Ilse has never entered a dungeon, I’ll carry her along with Camilla while I run. Liese, who has the highest level, will have to keep up on her own. The level gap with Camilla has narrowed, so I want to focus on Liese’s leveling either this week or next.
”And with that, we’ve arrived on the 11th floor,” Daisuke said.
”Daisuke… you’re way too reckless,” Ilse said.
”About what?” Daisuke asked.
”Running all the way to the 11th floor while carrying me and Camilla, and bringing me to the 11th floor when I’m only Level 5 in the first place!” Ilse replied.
”That’s not true. Liese and Camilla both started leveling on the 11th floor from the beginning, right?” Daisuke said.
”Yes!” Camilla said.
”Yes. As long as I am with Master, there is no problem,” Liese added.
Camilla answers energetically, and Liese answers with a bit of pride. Normally, Ilse’s argument would have some merit, but it doesn’t apply to us. It’s just as Liese says; since my enemy detection is solid, we never even encounter a dangerous situation.
While that lacks a sense of crisis and might not be good for the future, starting tomorrow, I’ll have the three of them do combat training by themselves in the mornings. Well, even in that case, I’ll intervene if it gets dicey, so it won’t become truly dangerous. But I absolutely want to avoid letting them go into the dungeon alone and having someone die.
”Liese-san and Camilla… you guys trust Daisuke way too much…” Ilse muttered.
”It’ll be fine,” Daisuke said.
Since arguing was a waste of time, I looked for an Orc as usual and quickly lopped off its limbs to neutralize it.
”Ilse, hit the spot I cut with an arrow,” Daisuke said.
”This is different from the Orc hunting I know…” Ilse grumbled.
Despite her grumbling, Ilse fired an arrow and landed it squarely on the severed surface.
”Good. Liese, you attack too. Camilla, you’ve already cast Illusion Magic, right?” Daisuke asked.
”Understood,” Camilla replied.
”Yes! It’s cast!” Liese said.
I pat Camilla, who responds full of energy. Since Camilla doesn’t need to notch arrows, she basically stays by my side even while hunting on the 11th floor. Thanks to that, she’s in a very good mood. I had her pair up with Liese during combat training around the 4th floor, but there’s no need to be so strict here. After confirming Liese’s attack, I deal the finishing blow to the Orc.
”Great, Ilse is getting experience properly too,” Daisuke said.
”…Is it really okay like this?” Ilse asked.
”It’s fine. Safety first for now,” Daisuke said.
”Hmm, well, I guess it’s okay,” Ilse replied.
Ilse is a bit dissatisfied, but she seems to have resigned herself to it since her level rises easily. This is a world where levels matter, after all. In the end, we devoted the whole day to leveling, and Ilse rose to Level 8. Camilla also went up to Level 13. Liese remained at Level 16. Well, she’s a long-lived species, so it can’t be helped.
Finally, I sent the three of them home, and I went to hunt alone on the 16th floor for a bit. It’s mainly to earn money for the house purchase. I’m holding back on turning in loot so I don’t stand out, but I’m not holding back on the hunting itself for other reasons. The surplus I don’t turn in is stocked in my Item Box. If I turn them in when I can’t go hunting, they won’t go to waste.
As for the reason I’m hunting more than I’m delivering: it’s for my own leveling. My current level is 69. The experience required to level up is about 660,000, and since the experience gained from Private Power Generation (m**urbation) is 10% of that, it’s about 60,000 a day. Hunting 20 Minotaurs or Orc Generals on the 16th floor nets 90,000 experience. That’s pretty significant.
When I was active in a party, five of us would fight, and 20 kills a day was the target. Since the kill count is about the same, the experience efficiency is simply five times higher. Including the portion from hunting with Liese, Camilla, and Ilse, I’m actually earning even more.
Normally, defeating them would be difficult solo, but since my skill levels for Concealment, Surprise Attack, and Ground Shrink² are maxed out, it’s actually easier to hunt solo. With Concealment alone, you’re found the moment you attack, but if you use Ground Shrink, you become unrecognizable again. Because of that, it doesn’t matter if the monsters are in a pack; in fact, the efficiency goes up, so I’m lucky.
If my Ability scores weren’t so far behind, I could be peerless with this method, but it’s tough against A-Rank monsters like Wyverns. I think I could win, but the efficiency is poor, and it would be a bit dangerous if they used wide-range magic. Plus, even if I could hunt them, I couldn’t sell them. It would stand out way too much.
For those reasons, I intend to continue hunting on the 16th floor for the time being. Once my Heat Resistance skill level rises, I plan to proceed to the 18th floor and beyond. I want to skip the 17th floor because Sandworms have a poor selling price.
Five days passed like that; Ilse reached Level 11 and Camilla reached Level 14. Liese remained Level 16. Liese doesn’t seem to mind, but it’s getting a bit bad. I want Liese to be the senior and instructor for Camilla and Ilse, the strongest among the three.

Red Day. In terms of feel, it’s like a Thursday. Today is the opening of Rei-san’s shop. I received a “Special Invitation Ticket” and was told today would be fine. Afterward, I got a letter saying “Please come in the evening ☆,” so I decided to go to the shop after my usual dungeon exploration. Since I hunt solo at the end of the dungeon run, I sent Liese and the others home. I think I’ll bring all three of them eventually.
When I arrived at the location of Rei-san’s shop, there was a sign that said “Maid Cafe Rei Shop No. 1.” It seems she’s already thinking about a Shop No. 2 and beyond; she’s ambitious. Since I sent a floral wreath for the opening, it was displayed outside the shop. I splurged quite a bit, so it’s quite huge. The one sent by the Yamato Nadeshiko party is lined up next to it. Thanks to these two, I think it stands out quite a bit.
On the sign, there was a hand-drawn illustration of a girl in a maid uniform. It’s quite good. (I wish she’d share some of that artistic sense with me. The pendant I gave to the Gale Party as a present actually took the most time just for the design.) The sign is somewhat pop-style, but at least the exterior is a normal cafe. A moe-style Maid Cafe would be too new for the people of this world, so it’s a reasonable choice. In some cases, it could even lead to Lèse-majesté³. Enough observation; let’s head inside.
”Welcome home, Master,” a voice said.
Opening the door with the ding-ding of a bell, I’m greeted with the classic greeting. However, since it’s exactly the same as what Liese says when she greets me at my house, it doesn’t feel too strange. I almost accidentally said “I’m home.” By the way, Camilla jumps in saying “Master!” and Ilse simply says “Welcome back!”
The interior is about the size of a normal coffee shop, with five table seats. Two groups of customers were inside: a young couple and an older man. Since it’s quite late, I suppose this is about right. The one who greeted me was a young Beastman girl, and her twitching beast ears and tail are cute. It seems Rei-san isn’t doing this alone. The skirt length of the maid uniform is long; as expected, it seems to be the authentic style rather than the moe-style. I’m a bit bad with the moe vibe, so I’m grateful for this.
”May I take your order?” the girl asked.
”(Orange-like) juice and a light meal, please. Also, I received a ‘Special Invitation Ticket’ from Rei-san; is she here?” Daisuke asked.
”Certainly. I will go call her, so please wait a moment,” she replied.
I was guided to a seat and my order was taken. Since drinking coffee at this hour makes it hard to sleep, I chose an orange-like juice. The meal is a sandwich. This shop isn’t suited for a full-course meal. After waiting a while after giving the “Special Invitation Ticket” to the Beastman girl, Rei-san came over.
”Welcome home, Master,” Rei said.
”Oh…!” Daisuke exclaimed.
I’ve only ever seen the bright Rei-san who’s always joking around, but when she wears a crisp maid uniform and bows, she looks very much like a maid. It’s a composed Rei-san that fits the shop’s atmosphere.
”This is amazing; you’re like a different person from the usual Rei-san,” Daisuke said.
”Oh, stop it-desuwa. Ohohoho…” Rei laughed.
Her laugh is a bit strange, but it seems she’s not breaking character. It’d be bad to interfere, so I’ll leave the subject there.
”Thank you for the invitation today. Was everything okay for the first day?” Daisuke asked.
”Yes. Thanks to you, many Masters and Princesses have returned home. I believe the wreath you gave me, Daisuke-master, contributed to this,” Rei said.
Her phrasing is unique, but in short, it means many customers came. Since it’s a newly opened shop, I’m glad the wreath was conspicuous.
”By the way, Master, do you have some time after this?” Rei asked.
”Yeah, I’m fine,” Daisuke said.
She specifically designated the evening; is it a wrap party for the shop opening? While I was thinking that, Rei whispered in my ear.
”The shop is closing soon, so just wait a little bit ☆”

Summary:
Daisuke continues his dungeon routine, focusing on efficiently leveling up his new slave Ilse while maintaining his own strength through solo hunts. He balances his roles as a master and a provider, aiming to purchase a house for his growing household. The chapter concludes with the grand opening of Rei’s Maid Cafe, where Daisuke receives a mysterious evening invitation.
—
Trivia:
- Liese’s slow leveling: Being a long-lived species, her growth curve is much flatter, creating a potential power dynamic shift as the others catch up.
- Daisuke’s solo efficiency: His maxed stealth skills make him more effective alone, hinting at a future where he might have to take on high-rank threats without his party.
- Rei’s ambition: The mention of ‘Shop No. 1’ suggests she plans a significant economic expansion in the city.
- Lèse-majesté: The protagonist’s concern about the cafe style hints at a strictly hierarchical or sensitive political climate regarding the royal family
—
Character Insight:
The dynamic between Ilse and Daisuke is establishing itself; she is skeptical of his ‘reckless’ methods but slowly accepting the efficiency. Meanwhile, Camilla’s attachment to Daisuke remains the strongest, shown by her refusal to leave his side even during hunts.
—
Lore And Worldbuilding Context:
The level system heavily weights party size, making solo hunting a high-risk, high-reward method for veteran explorers. The existence of ‘Maid Cafes’ as a concept introduced by ‘reincarnators’ or similar entities highlights the cultural mixing in this world.
—
TL Notes:
The term ‘Private Power Generation’ is a slang term for m**urbation frequently used in Japanese web novels. The term ‘BSS’ usually refers to ‘Boku ga Saki ni Suki datta no ni’ (Even though I liked her first), implying a certain dynamic at the brothel.
