Volume 5 Chapter 26 Guidance
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
The day after my reunion with Mia, I headed to Rei’s Maid Cafe after a dungeon crawl to consult her about the designs for the gifts I planned to give the Gale Party¹.
”Welcome home, Master!”
”I’m back, Rei.”
Since Rei greeted me in character right from the start, I decided to lean into the “Role-play.” She seemed used to the routine, giving me a bright smile as she led me to my seat. She’s usually the casual, big-sister type, but the way she completely transforms into a maid the second she puts on that uniform is actually pretty impressive.
”I’ll have an orange juice. (Actually, I need your advice on something, Rei. Do you have a moment later?)”
”Certainly, Master. (…Wait until the shop closes ☆)”
I followed my order with a whisper, and Rei leaned in to whisper back. It made me flash back to that night about a week ago, but I wasn’t here to proposition her today-unless, of course, she was the one who wanted to.
After the shop closed, we headed to our usual izakaya. Most cafe-restaurants were already shut by then, and starting the night at a bar makes it hard to get a real meal. I hadn’t made a reservation anywhere, so the place was a bit unrefined, but it couldn’t be helped. Luckily, since it’s a spot frequented by female Transferees, it’s kept relatively clean.
”It’s rare for you to come to me for advice,” Rei said, leaning in. “What’s up?”
”I’m struggling with some accessory designs. Do you know anyone who’s good at that kind of thing?”
”Oh? Accessories for yourself?”
”No, they’re for the three girls in the Gale Party. You know them, right?”
”Gifts for all three? You really are a ‘play-boy’ ☆ Speaking of which, I heard from Nanami that you’re dating Ines-chan, Daisuke-kun.”
”Yeah, that’s right. Hey, if I come up with a good design, I’ll make one for you too, Rei.”
”Oh, lucky me! ☆”
I hadn’t told Nanami directly, so she must have pried the info out of Hina. They’re roommates and close friends, after all. Rei didn’t seem to have a negative reaction to me giving gifts to all three girls, nor did she seem particularly bothered about me dating Ines-chan. It looked like there wouldn’t be any drama.
”I know you’re good enough to draw the shop’s signboards, Rei, but you’re swamped right now, aren’t you?” I asked.
”You got that right… Manami is pretty skilled too, but she’s probably just as busy. If I had to guess, I’d bet Rin and Nanami-chan from the former JK Party would be your best bet ☆”
”Wait, you’re just guessing?”
”We were in different parties, so I don’t know the exact details. But I’m sure they’d be great at it! ☆”
”I see. Thanks, Rei. That gives me a good lead.”
”Don’t mention it. Now that your mind’s at ease, let’s get to drinking! ~☆”
We spent the rest of the night grabbing a bite and enjoying some drinks. Rei has such a bright, breezy personality that just hanging out with her lifts my spirits. She really is charming. She’s clearly busy, but she seems fulfilled. Since she turned what she loves into her job, she looks like she’s genuinely enjoying life.
(For the record, there was no ‘invitation’ tonight. Our deal was ‘when the next batch of cosmetics comes out,’ so it’s a shame, but I’ll have to wait. I’ll give them to her in a little while and let her ‘test drive’ them. Since she’s proactive about s*x, my strategy is to lean into that. She’s the exact opposite of Ines-chan.)
So Rin and Nanami-chan are the design experts… I’m already planning to meet the Yamato Nadeshiko party tomorrow for something else, so I’ll ask them then. I think I’ve gotten a bit closer to Rin-not so much because of the Dungeon Upheaval, but because of what happened with Camilla. I still don’t really get Nanami-chan, though. She kissed me on the cheek, but I can’t read her at all. I guess I’ll try asking her, even if it’s a long shot.
I wanted to have them finished by Yellow Day if possible, but since I have to ask for guidance first, that’s probably out the window. I won’t compromise on the stats, but maybe I’ll whip up a temporary design for now and swap it out later.
(Come to think of it, I haven’t given Liese-san, Camilla, or Ilse any presents yet. That’s a major oversight. Liese-san would probably try to decline, but for her safety, I want to give her an accessory infused with search-type skills. If she’s going to take the D-rank promotion exam, she’ll be acting on her own. As for the design… I’ll just have to make a placeholder for hers too.)
I was also torn on whether to give them cosmetics. Even commoners can hardly afford makeup, so having slaves wear it would definitely turn heads. It might be one thing if they were a noble’s ‘pet’ slaves, but it would be way too conspicuous for someone who’s only a B-Rank adventurer to go that far. Buying a house or hitting the brothels every week is par for the course for a B-Rank, but cosmetics for slaves might be overstepping. I plan on freeing them eventually anyway, so I’ll just wait until then.
The next day, Purple Day.
Since Camilla’s level is likely to catch up to Liese-san’s by next week, I need to power-level Liese-san immediately. I visited the Yamato Nadeshiko party at their inn after my dungeon run to discuss leaving Camilla and Ilse in their care. I made sure to book an appointment. Technically, Camilla and Ilse could have just tagged along, but I decided to leave them with the Yamato Nadeshiko party specifically so Camilla could get more social interaction.
”…So, with that in mind, would you be willing to look after Camilla and Ilse periodically? Just the afternoons would be fine,” I proposed.
”I see. That’s certainly a necessary step,” Yumiko said. “When were you thinking?”
”Next week at the latest. But the sooner, the better. Even tomorrow would work if you’re free.”
”Let’s see… We don’t have any pressing need to grind for gold right now, so tomorrow is fine,” Yumiko replied. “How often did you mean by ‘periodically’?”
”I won’t know for sure until we try it out, but I’m thinking about once a week.”
”That shouldn’t be a problem. And we’ll consider this a favor in return for the cosmetics, right?”
”Thank you. That’s a huge help.”
I started by consulting Yumiko, their leader, and she readily agreed.
”And Rin…?” I asked.
”I’ll do it,” Rin said.
”I-I see. Thanks.”
When I turned to Rin, she jumped on the offer with unusual intensity. She was way too motivated for this.
”How about Mai, Hina, and Nanami-chan?” I asked the group. “I’ve already received my thanks for the cosmetics from you three, so I’ll work out a separate sitting fee.”
”I don’t mind at all! It’s the perfect chance to get close to Camilla-chan!” Mai exclaimed.
”I’m fine with it too,” Hina said.
”Nanami-chan is down too~. I’m looking forward to hanging out with Ilse-chan!” Nanami added.
”Thanks, everyone.”
Nanami’s comment made me a little uneasy, but it would probably be fine. Maybe. Misaki was out on other business, so she wasn’t there to weigh in.
”I’ll let Misaki-chan know myself,” Yumiko said.
”I appreciate it.”
Good. Now the stage was set for Liese-san to grind some XP.
”On a separate note, I have a request for Rin and Nanami-chan. Do you have a moment?”
It wasn’t that it would be awkward if Yumiko and the others heard, but for some reason, I felt like asking just the two of them.
”What is it?” Nanami asked.
”I’m struggling with some accessory designs, and I was wondering if you could give me some pointers? Rei mentioned you guys are experts at this.”
”…I don’t mind,” Rin replied.
”Nanami-chan is okay with it too, but what’s the occasion?”
”I’m planning to craft some accessories as presents. They’re for the three girls in the Gale Party.”
”Heh~. I heard you were dating Ines-san, but you’re giving presents to all three? Daisuke-san, you’re something else.”
”Well, yeah… I mean, it seems like that’s the norm in this world.”
(My stumbling over the words was definitely a leftover feeling from my previous life.)
Nanami looked intrigued, but Rin didn’t seem particularly moved. Or maybe I just couldn’t tell because her expression barely changed.
”I’ll find a way to pay you two back later,” I said.
”Roger that! I’ll be looking forward to it~” Nanami chirped.
”…’Reward’,” Rin reminded me.
”Hm? You mean from when I helped Camilla?”
”…Yeah.”
Now that she mentioned it, I remembered that promise. I didn’t really feel like it was something Rin needed to “repay” me for, but if that’s how she wanted it, then so be it.
”Alright. Then for Rin, we’ll call that even,” I said.
”…Accepted,” Rin said.
Sigh. Well, I’d got a solid lead on this too. They said they wouldn’t have time this week, so we’d have to coordinate the schedule later.
As for the absent Misaki, we finally managed to coordinate the makeup lesson I’d requested. She was currently giving pointers to Dietlinde and the Gale Party today. I originally thought about sitting in, but Misaki had gently turned me down. “It’s a maiden’s secret~,” she had said.

Being told that only made me more curious, but ignoring her and barging in would have major downsides. It would definitely tank my “affection points” with her.
(Still, calling herself a ‘maiden’ while sporting those incredibly massive, pillowy breasts… probably. Dreams really are expanding.)
Since they all knew each other, they don’t need me there to facilitate the meeting. In short, my part in this matter was done. I’d just sit tight and look forward to meeting the Gale Party this weekend. They were already beauties, so I was eager to see how much more stunning they’d be with makeup.
The next time would be the last of the “Rewards.” Since I intend to ask Juliet and Sylvie to officially become my lovers, I’d already booked a high-end restaurant, just like when I gave them their presents. I was expecting them to show up with a beauty that perfectly suits the setting.
I went back home and explained the situation to Camilla and Ilse. Liese-san was there too, but my main focus was convincing the other two.
”…So, as I said, I’ve arranged for Camilla and Ilse to be looked after.”
”Master…” Camilla whispered.
”Camilla, this is definitely for your own good. I want you to learn to get along with people other than just me.”
Camilla looked anxious about being separated from me and left with others, so I took the time to explain it properly.
”It’s okay, I’m not going to abandon you, Camilla. Besides, they’re all kind people. You know ‘Rin-oneechan’ and ‘Misaki-oneechan’ already, right?”
”…I understand. But before I go, can I have a tight hug?”
”You can have one of those whenever you want. Come here.”
I pulled Camilla close and gave her a tight squeeze. It was a strange feeling-even though it was the same kind of hug, it felt completely different from when I hug the three girls in the Gale Party.
”Are you okay with this, Ilse?” I asked.
”I’m fine. …Can I have one of those too?”
”Of course.”
It seemed Ilse had also taken a liking to hugs for one reason or another. She doesn’t fight with Camilla over them, but she asked for them herself every now and then. She was cheeky and didn’t mince words, but she had this cute side to her. I wouldn’t call her a tsundere-she was more of a tomboy.

Summary:
Daisuke coordinates with Rei and the Yamato Nadeshiko party to delegate the supervision of Camilla and Ilse. This arrangement allows him to focus on power-leveling Liese for her upcoming promotion exam. Additionally, he begins seeking design expertise for accessories he plans to craft as gifts for the Gale Party.
—
Trivia:
- Rin’s eagerness to watch Camilla: Rin’s unusual enthusiasm suggests she feels a heavy debt or deep connection to the ‘Camilla incident,’ which likely involves trauma or a major rescue from the previous arc.
- Cosmetics as Social Capital: Daisuke recognizes that high-end cosmetics are a noble-level luxury, foreshadowing potential political trouble if his slaves appear too ‘rich’ for his B-Rank status.
- Nanami’s Kiss: The unreadable Nanami continues to tease Daisuke, setting up a slow-burn mystery regarding her true feelings or motives
—
Character Insight:
Daisuke is transitioning from a purely self-interested transferee to a protective ‘manager’ figure, as seen in his gentle handling of Camilla and Ilse’s abandonment anxiety. Rin is showing more agency and emotional drive, specifically revolving around the concept of ‘Reward’ and ‘debt.’
—
Lore And Worldbuilding Context:
The chapter introduces the concept of colored days (Yellow, Purple), implying a 7-day or similar cycle based on elemental or color associations. It also clarifies that B-Rank adventurers are expected to have a certain standard of living (owning a house, visiting brothels) but that certain luxuries remain gatekept by nobility.
—
TL Notes:
Mashmallow’ breasts is a common Japanese trope for soft, pale, and voluminous features, localized here as ‘pillowy’ to maintain the sensory intent.
