Chapter 16 The Test Ends

”Thank you, Student Council President.”
With that, the four of them left the Club Activity Building, laughing and chatting. Their conversation wasn’t a secret; plenty of people caught wind of it.
Aki’s basic info was dug up in record time. The guys were utterly crushed, while the girls’ eyes started sparkling one by one. Especially those girls hovering on the edge of a failing grade—they wished they could find Aki right now and experiment for themselves.
Compared to the excitement of those girls, Shitori Sona was nursing a bit of a headache over who to send to make contact with Aki. If it were just a matter of verifying bloodline or strength, it wouldn’t matter; she could send anyone proficient in sensing. But testing his actual ability¹? That narrowed the playing field significantly.
First, it had to be a girl. Then, her strength couldn’t be too high. Finally, she had to be able to accept Aki’s essence… Fortunately, looking at his file photo, Aki was quite well-liked by girls. That last point should be relatively easy to solve.

The Student Council President’s troubles had nothing to do with Hamazaki Reina and her group. To celebrate passing the test, the four decided to go to a KTV to sing.
”Yukina, Reina, should we call Uesugi-kun too~?” Kurumizaka Ruri suggested in a low voice.
”Ruri, just endure for a few days,” Hamazaki Reina said.
A green light flashed in Hamazaki Reina’s eyes as she spotted several suspicious figures. (The next few days likely won’t be peaceful on Uesugi’s end. Besides, until the results are out, we’ll be watched too.)
Some believed their strength increased because of Aki; others felt it was a smokescreen they intentionally released. Everyone knew about Succubi, and their abilities weren’t a secret. But they had never heard of a Succubus that could be used as an experience book. Male mixed-blood Succubi were indeed very rare, but that wasn’t a reason for Aki’s ability to be so special.
”Reina, Yuki and I will go drive those people away,” Sasaki Yukina said.
Through Aki’s hard “irrigation,” Sasaki Yukina had basically mastered the Talent of Physical Activation². The situation where she would use too much force and run out of strength after fighting for a short while would no longer occur. Coupled with her greatly increased Mana capacity, her combat power was among the best in this batch of freshmen.
Shinomura Yuki’s situation was similar. The Disguise Talent wasn’t suited for combat, but a demon bloodline was. After Dual Cultivation³ with Aki, the demon bloodline in her body was constantly awakening; not only did her strength increase, but her aptitude was steadily improving. If she kept working hard, there was hope of directly reaching the level of a Lower-Class Demon.
”Fine. Just be mindful of your boundaries,” Hamazaki Reina said, agreeing to the two eager girls after scanning the area with her Insight Eye.
Ten minutes later, Sasaki Yukina and Shinomura Yuki returned with satisfied smiles. This was the first time they had exerted their full strength since their power-up. Mopping the floor with the same people who used to look down on them, watching those unwilling and frustrated expressions… it felt freaking amazing!
Even though they picked up some scrapes, it didn’t dampen their spirits. The four met up, and Hamazaki Reina and Kurumizaka Ruri helped wipe the blood and dirt off Sasaki Yukina and Shinomura Yuki.
”Reina, did you see that little bitch from E-Class? The look on her face… it was so satisfying…”
”I saw, I saw. Don’t move around, it’ll be hard to clean once it dries,” Hamazaki Reina replied.
As they were chatting, a mature and calm voice interrupted them. “Hamazaki-san, good afternoon. May I ask you about something?”
”Sakuramachi-san?” Hamazaki Reina said, somewhat surprised. They had planned to visit her, but she had come to them first.
”It’s about Uesugi-kun, isn’t it?” Kurumizaka Ruri asked, unable to hide her curiosity.
”Yes. If Uesugi-kun really is a mixed-blood Succubus and has that kind of special ability, then I can’t let him go.” Sakuramachi Touko licked the corner of her mouth, a dazed grin appearing on her sophisticated face. (I think the two of us will definitely get along very well.)
”We’re going to KTV, come along,” Kurumizaka Ruri invited. “It’s livelier with more people, and we have things to ask you too.”
Sakuramachi Touko’s grin vanished, and the serious girl with glasses reappeared. “Fine,” she said.
That total 180 in personality was exciting even for Hamazaki Reina’s group to watch. They couldn’t help but imagine what kind of expression she would make on a bed.

Inside the KTV room, the snacks and drinks started flowing, and the initial awkwardness vanished. After some gossip and erotic girl talk, the conversation landed on Aki.
Reina’s group recounted the changes Aki had gone through, repeating the excuses Aki had used. Sakuramachi Touko pushed her glasses up. “Easily attracting the opposite s*x, a massive increase in power after the first union, powerful s*xual stamina… all of these are textbook Succubus traits.”
”So, Uesugi really is a mixed-blood Succubus?”
”Not necessarily,” Sakuramachi Touko replied, shaking her head. “You can’t determine a bloodline based on those traits alone. Some magic or techniques can do the same. For example, some Succubi like to control ordinary people and watch from the sidelines, feeding on the lust they produce to grow their own power.”
”There are Succubi with hobbies like that?” Shinomura Yuki marveled.
”Succubi weren’t originally called that; they were ‘Dream Demons,’” Sakuramachi Touko explained. “They could slip into dreams and manipulate emotions—fear, joy, excitement, regret—as food. Over time, they became the Succubi of today. Some say it was the influence of the Lord of Lust, others say it was a Queen named Lilith. Regardless, after millions of years of interbreeding, you can find a Succubus in almost any configuration.”
Shinomura Yuki agreed. When it came to mixed-bloods, Succubi were the only ones who could rival humans. Looking at Sakuramachi Touko, who looked like a normal human, Hamazaki Reina asked, “Sakuramachi-san, I heard Succubi have tails and horns…?”
”Sorry, I don’t have them,” Sakuramachi Touko replied flatly. “Though, pure-blooded Succubi usually have both.”
”Are you a mixed-blood too?”
”No. I am a pure-blooded Succubus. Don’t ask me why; I don’t know either,” Sakuramachi Touko said, draining her glass.

• Sakuramachi Touko – Shoulder‑length bluish hair, icy demeanor, cool‑attractive look, distinct from Fuyuko Mayuzumi. A high‑cold, voluptuous classmate with long legs and a slim waist, wearing glasses and a studious expression that hides a predatory nature.
