With the appraisal finished, I headed back toward the ‘Phase One¹‘ dungeon. I had just started down the stairs when a familiar voice called out, stopping me in my tracks.
”…Kanade-tchi—”
”Ah, Minami-chan! Are you heading into the dungeon now, too?” I asked.
”Yeah, that’s the plan… Minami wants to clear Phase One soon… What about you, Kanade-tchi?”
”I’d like to say I’m going to clear it, too, but I’m still stuck on the second floor,” I replied.
”Ah, Slimes are such a pain, aren’t they? It’s easier for Minami since I have (Sky-Ripping Slash²), but…” Minami-chan said.
As we chatted and made our way down the stairs, Minami-chan suddenly pressed her body close to mine. She took a deliberate, pointed sniff of the air around me. “…sniff, sniff… Kanade-tchi, there’s a strange smell coming from right around here…”
”A strange smell? I wonder what it is…?” I said.
”Yeah… right here… in your pocket…”
Before I could say a word, Minami-chan thrust her hand into my pocket. I didn’t think I’d put anything in there, but when she pulled her hand out, she was clutching a black cloth. I had absolutely no memory of owning such a thing.
”Are these… panties? Kanade-tchi…?” Minami-chan asked.
She spread the cloth out in her palm. It was a high-quality, thin, triangular piece of fabric. In other words, no matter how you looked at it, it was women’s underwear.
”Eh… Huh? W-Why!?” I stammered.
”And what’s more, they’re all wet with… naughty juices. I guess I have no choice but to report this to Mana-tchi once we’re out of the dungeon, right?” Minami-chan said.
”T-That’s—!” I cried.
At her words, I had a sudden, terrifying vision of Mana—smiling that quiet, terrifying smile she wore whenever she was absolutely livid. (I’m dead. I’m actually dead.) As I stood there panicking, Minami-chan leaned in with a sly grin.
”…Hehe. If Kanade-tchi does just one thing for Minami, I might be able to keep this a secret from Mana-tchi. Just this once,” Minami-chan said.
She was shaking me down. I had no idea how those panties got there, but the thought of facing Mana’s wrath was enough to make me fold instantly.
”In that case, come to Minami’s room after you’re done for the day,” she said.
”Yeah, okay, I get it, Minami-chan… See you later,” I replied.
And just like that, I was officially summoned to Minami-chan’s room. After we finished our exchange and walked down the stairs for a bit longer, her presence suddenly vanished from my side. The entrance to the Phase One dungeon was right there. I was definitely worried about tonight, but I had to focus. Even if I was getting used to Phase One, a dungeon is still a dungeon. If you let your guard down for even a second, you’re dead. That’s just the reality of this place.
”Alright, first up is a standard Goblin,” I muttered.
Dungeon monsters respawn every time you re-enter, so I had to take them down one by one from the start. I engaged a Goblin that appeared after I’d walked about fifty meters. I was used to fighting them by now and was pretty much one-sidedly beating the crap out of it when I noticed something strange. (Wait… are those glowing spots on its body?)
There was one on its chest, one on its lower abdomen, and one right in the center of its right buttock.
”Could this be… an effect of the (Pressure Point Eye³)?” I wondered.
Thinking back, I’d seen a weird light on Rin-sensei’s breasts, too. It was possible the (Pressure Point Eye) was letting me see things that were previously invisible. If that was the case… (Adversarial Pressure Point⁴)… maybe? Could this skill actually let me use pressure points on my enemies?)
I pondered the possibility while dodging the Goblin’s attacks. Finally, I decided to actually try poking one of those lights. I closed in, sword in my left hand, and used my free right hand to jab the light on the Goblin’s chest.
The Goblin let out a strangled, wheezing shriek unlike anything I’d ever heard. I backed off to see what would happen, watching the monster closely. Its body began to tremble violently. I expected it to collapse, but instead, the shaking stopped and it glared at me with pure malice. Then, it kicked off the ground.
”Gah! What the—!? It’s so fast!!” I yelled.
It was moving at nearly double its previous speed. My ‘Perception Enhancement’ was active, so I could still track it, but the margin was razor-thin. If I lost focus for even a second, I’d be flattened.
”N-No way! Is this a Pressure Point that just buffs the enemy!? You’ve got to be kidding me!!” I cried.
I couldn’t help but shout while desperately dodging. I thought I was applying a debuff, but I’d just turned the Goblin into a super-soldier. (D-Damn it! I have to take this seriously or I’m actually going to lose!)
I was still technically stronger than the Goblin, but the days of one-sidedly stomping them were over for this fight. I spent the next ten minutes dodging and chipping away at its health. Finally, the Goblin’s movements began to falter.
”Finally! Even if it’s buffed, it’s not like it has infinite stamina!” I said.
From there, the fight returned to a familiar rhythm. I spent another five minutes pummeling the sluggish Goblin until it finally dissolved into smoke.
”Phew… I’m glad a [Dungeon Stone] dropped, but seriously… what kind of (Pressure Point) skill just makes the enemy stronger? I’m exhausted. I’m going home,” I sighed.
I decided to call it a day right then and there, completely worn out from fighting just a single Goblin.
