Chapter 66 Miyajima Sakura

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Aki was certain of one thing: back when they were at Kuoh Academy, Miyajima Sakura had definitely been single. He quickly reeled his wandering thoughts back in. Regardless of the circumstances, there was no way a girl like her would start dating someone else only three days after transferring schools. So, whether that shy little brown-haired boy was Sakura’s “original” boyfriend or not, he certainly wouldn’t be from this point forward.

Pushing through the crowd, Aki flashed a bright, refreshing smile. “Miyajima-senpai, good afternoon.”

”Uesugi-kun?!” Sakura’s beautiful eyes widened, and her small mouth hung open in shock. “I thought I’d seen wrong earlier… it really is you! What are you doing here?”

Aki’s smile vanished, replaced by a mask of feigned dissatisfaction. “Miyajima-senpai, you transferred schools. What’s the point of me hanging around Kuoh Academy all by myself?”

(Does he actually have feelings for me?) Sakura wondered, her mind dazed. (Did he really transfer schools just to be with me?)

The other girls in the area tactfully stepped back, giving the two of them some breathing room. They leaned in, whispering among themselves as they speculated on the relationship between this radiant, handsome boy and the school’s newest star. Miyajima Sakura was beautiful, had a stunning figure, was a kendo prodigy, and her grades were top-tier. Now, she had a handsome, devoted boyfriend to boot? She was the ultimate winner. The looks they shot her were filled with an uncontrollable, green-eyed envy.

Sakura kept her head bowed, staring down at her feet… or rather, trying to. She couldn’t actually see her toes; her line of sight was blocked by her own ample chest. A crimson flush crept up her cheeks. She stole a glance at Aki every few seconds, stammering, unable to find the right words.

Ever since she had first seen Aki at the Kendo Club, she had been captivated. She found herself constantly tracking his movements. However, the rumors surrounding him weren’t great—they were the polar opposite of the impression he gave her in person.

She had wanted to reach out, but seeing the talented, beautiful girls always surrounding him, she feared the rumors might be true and constantly shrank back. This indecision meant they had barely exchanged more than a few sentences in the past. Yet, whenever she spoke to her parents about her school life, the conversation always somehow drifted back to Aki.

Ignoring the envious and jealous glares from the boys nearby, Aki reached out and took Sakura’s slender, fair hand in his. “Miyajima-senpai, there’s something I want to tell you. Can you come with me for a moment?”

(Is he… is he going to confess?!)

This wasn’t the first time a boy had tried to confess to her, but this was the only time her heart had ever raced like this. She was so embarrassed her face felt like it was on fire. Sakura kept her head down, not daring to meet his gaze, and simply nodded.

Aki gave a faint smirk. It really was a case of blessings and curses traveling together. While he was now a prime target for every “yellow-haired punk” and home-wrecker in the vicinity, Sakura’s intense reaction had saved him a massive amount of “quest” time.

The girls watched with suggestive grins as the two walked away hand-in-hand, giggling and whispering. The boys, meanwhile, were the picture of heartbreak and despair. Their new goddess had only been at the school for a few days, and she was already being claimed.

The brown-haired boy Aki had recognized earlier felt a particularly sharp pang, as if he had just lost something vital. Even though he hadn’t spoken a single word to Sakura, he had the gut-wrenching sensation that a beloved treasure was being stolen from him. Even if it were to be taken, it shouldn’t be now… it should have happened after he and Sakura had become a couple.

The feeling was bizarre and nonsensical; he felt like a total creep for even thinking it. It wasn’t until Aki and Sakura vanished from his sight that the feeling finally began to recede. He let out a heavy breath, not daring to think about it further, and snuffed out the dark, indescribable thoughts in the back of his mind. It was terrifying. He would rather be single for life than experience that soul-crushing sensation ever again.

Having unintentionally saved a victim from a tragic fate, Aki was now facing a dilemma of his own. Standing in a secluded corner, he looked at Sakura, who had her eyes squeezed shut and her face tilted up, waiting for a kiss. He wasn’t entirely sure how to handle this. He had intended to play a low pair just to test the waters, but she had countered by dropping a royal flush immediately. He couldn’t tell if his charm was just that high, or if the heroines in these worlds were simply too easy to win over.

Staring at Sakura’s delicate, pink, shimmering lips, Aki figured he should see if she was packing any special Talents before going all the way. He took a small step forward, pulling her into a firm embrace.

 ”Don’t… I just worked up a sweat… I probably smell…”

”Yeah, you do,” said Aki, leaning in. “You smell like jasmine.”

Aki inhaled the faint, floral fragrance clinging to her. Despite Sakura’s token squirming, he lowered his head and captured her inviting lips.

 ”Uesugi-kun… mmph…”

In a matter of seconds, Sakura’s face turned a deep scarlet, her eyes softening with a hazy affection. This was her first kiss, and it was far more wonderful and electric than she had ever imagined. Aki’s technique had been honed by several top-tier beauties already; handling an inexperienced girl like Sakura was effortless. He expertly teased her lips, his tongue tracing the smooth, warm interior of her mouth.

'[Ding! Talent Detected: Sword Heart (Elementary)]’

 '[Beginning Replication…]’

As their breath and saliva intermingled, Aki heard the sweet sound of the system notification. He felt a surge of triumph. Just as he suspected, these heroines with extraordinary traits almost always possessed a Talent. Hamazaki Reina’s group of four, the Takamine sisters, and now Miyajima Sakura—there were no exceptions. Conversely, he had kissed plenty of girls who had confessed to him before, yet he hadn’t found a single Talent among them.

Aki glanced around to confirm they were still alone in the corner, and then his hands began to wander. Feeling Sakura’s hot, curvaceous body through the loose fabric of her kendo uniform, he slid his hands inside. He traced the curve of her slender waist before moving down toward her firm hips and long, shapely legs.

The skin felt like the most exquisite silk; it was a sensation he could never tire of. He slid his hand deeper into the hakama. Beyond the incredible texture, he felt her body temperature rising rapidly. As he stroked her jade-like thighs, his hand drifted toward the inner warmth. When he finally reached her most private place, a familiar, inviting wetness met his fingers.

 ”Haa… ngh… haa…”

Sakura’s breathing became shallow and frantic. She gripped Aki’s hands, trying to stay her ground. They were outdoors, and they were still on school grounds. Someone could walk by at any second. She wasn’t nearly bold enough to lose her virginity in a place like this.

Aki understood the silent plea. He pulled away from her cherry-red lips. “Miyajima-senpai… I’ll be waiting for you at your house after school,” Aki whispered.

Sakura slumped against Aki’s chest, her face flushed pink, her soft, ample chest heaving against him. She panted, pressing her thighs together. The lingering heat from his touch made her let out a soft moan. “Mm… okay…”

Completely lost in the heat of the moment, the girl couldn’t even manage a coherent thought. She didn’t even think to ask how Aki knew where she lived. After calming down his own “Little Aki,” who was lodging a loud protest, Aki wiped the slick moisture onto her smooth thigh and withdrew his hand.

”Hey… Uesugi-kun… does this mean we’re dating?” As she tidied her uniform, Sakura looked at him with an anxious, fluttering heart. She had been so overwhelmed that she’d jumped straight to the kiss without waiting for a formal confession. The realization made her feel incredibly self-conscious; her girlish pride wanted to hear him say the words out loud.

Aki reached out, ruffling her silky, lavender hair with a chuckle. “If that’s what you want it to be, Senpai, then that’s what it is.”

Sakura pouted. What kind of answer was that? (If I want it to be?) she thought. After he had just finished doing those kinds of things to her…

Seeing her face, Aki laughed. He didn’t try to coddle her. Instead, he asked, “Senpai, you’ve heard the rumors about me, haven’t you?”

”Mm…” Sakura twisted her fingers together, her voice dropping to a whisper. “I don’t care about those. I’m sure people are just talking trash because they’re jealous.”

”Actually, those rumors are all true.”

Aki shattered her illusion immediately. He didn’t want the headache of a “true love” commitment. Even with Rias, or even Hasegawa Chisato—one of the Ten Core Gods—Aki had no intention of being tied down. One reason was for the convenience of picking up… er, saving other innocent girls. The other was to minimize the impact of the “Bitter Parent Template” as much as possible.

In his own mind, Aki was still technically single. No girlfriend, no wife. He had a gut feeling that the moment he officially committed to one woman, a landslide of trouble would come crashing down on his head. He trusted his instincts; they had saved his life more than once since he arrived in this world. Much like his combat reflexes, he felt this intuition was a Talent that simply wasn’t displayed on his status window.

Sakura looked at him in sheer disbelief. She stumbled back a few steps, her face pale. Suddenly, every inconsistency and red flag she had ignored came rushing to the forefront of her mind. She looked at him, her eyes brimming with tears. She had a thousand questions, but the words were stuck in her throat.

Aki scratched his head. He could handle a girl throwing a tantrum or screaming, but girls like Miyajima Sakura—the silent, tearful type—were exactly the kind he was worst at handling.

 Summary:

Aki reunites with Miyajima Sakura at her new school and successfully seduces her. During an intimate moment in a secluded corner, he uses his system to replicate her ‘Sword Heart’ talent. However, he crushes her romantic fantasies by admitting that the negative rumors about his womanizing ways are entirely true.

 —

 Trivia:

 - Aki’s system replicates talents through the exchange of bodily fluids/intimacy.

 - Miyajima Sakura was a student at Kuoh Academy (High School DxD setting) before transferring.

 - The ‘brown-haired boy’ is a typical ‘original protagonist’ archetype being sidelined by Aki.

 - Aki avoids formal relationships to dodge the ‘Bitter Parent Template’ (NTR protagonist triggers)

 —

 Character Insight:

Aki shows a ruthless pragmatic side; he values system progression (Talents) over emotional connections. Sakura shows a naive, romantic nature, having built up an idealized version of Aki despite the rumors.

 —

 Lore And Worldbuilding Context:

The author uses a ‘meta’ approach, referencing tropes like ‘Yellow-haired punks’ (NTR antagonists) and ‘Royal Flushes’ to describe social interactions.

 Glossary:

1 A rare martial or spiritual aptitude that grants intuitive mastery over blade-based combat.
