Volume 1 Chapter 55

”Now then… if I can just find a way past these last Kobolds on the third floor, then only one level remains in this ‘Phase One Dungeon’¹. For some reason, I’ve got a gut feeling I can handle the fourth floor, but this next part…”
In essence, the Kobolds waiting for me up ahead might as well be the final bosses of this entire stage. They’re going to be a massive pain to deal with. After all, it’s the first time I’ve had to face two Monsters at once.
That was the reality: the next encounter wasn’t just a single target, but a pair of them. Fortunately, they were standard Kobolds rather than spear-wielders, but this would be the first time since I’d entered this dungeon that I’d be forced to fight multiple enemies simultaneously.
(We do multi-target drills in class, so it’s not like I’m a total novice… but two Monsters actually trying to kill me is a world away from a controlled training exercise.)
Steeling my resolve, I moved forward slowly. After covering about fifty meters, I finally spotted them: two Kobolds, already glaring in my direction.
(I’ll focus on defense to avoid taking any major hits… and if I see an opening, I’ll aim for an instant-kill Pressure Point² or at least a debuff. Alright, let’s do this!)
I leveled my Goblin Sword, slowly closing the gap. The moment I got within five meters of the pair, one of them made its move.
”Here it comes! …Hup!”
The creature lunged. I could have gone for a counter-attack right then, but I decided to play it safe and observe their patterns first. I parried the Kobold’s strike with my sword while shifting my body diagonally forward. In that instant, my five senses-sharpened by ‘Perception Enhancement’-screamed a warning.
”Gah! They’re timing their attacks together?!”
I trusted my instincts and threw myself into a roll across the stone floor. Looking back at the spot I’d occupied just a fraction of a second ago, I saw the second Kobold darting past at high speed. If I’d stayed standing, I would have been gutted.
(Damn! They’re already coming back for more?!)
There was no time to catch my breath. The first Kobold was on me the second I scrambled back to my feet, unleashing a relentless, non-stop assault. I leaned entirely on the heightened senses from my ‘Perception Enhancement’ to keep my skin intact.
(I can really feel how much this skill helps when the fight gets down-to-the-wire!)
It’s the kind of power you don’t really notice when you’re winning easily, but in a desperate scrap, being able to sense danger before it hits is a lifesaver. I braced myself, taking the hits I absolutely couldn’t avoid with my ‘Defense Enhancement’ bolstered body, and settled in for a long, grueling fight against the two creatures.
”Alright, I’m starting to get the rhythm,” I muttered. “My turn!”
I didn’t possess the overwhelming offensive abilities of someone like Minami-chan, nor did I have the natural combat instincts of Mana. It was frustrating, but my only option was to steadily wear them down. The moment I dodged the first and then the second, I slammed my Goblin Sword into the second Kobold’s back as it finishes its lunge. It was a crude strike without much weight behind it, and it didn’t do massive damage-but that was fine. With ‘Stamina Enhancement’ active, I wasn’t going to tire out easily, physically or mentally. If I had to, I’d keep this up for hours.
”Ngh! Haah!! …Gah! Fuuuuuh!”
I poured everything into my Pressure Point skills-dodging, parrying, and striking back. We trade blows for nearly an hour before I finally saw one of the Kobold’s movements start to flag. I dodged a strike from the energetic one and circled behind the one whose speed had dropped significantly.
”……Adversarial Pressure Point³!”
My fingertip drove straight through the instant-kill Pressure Point glowing on its backside.
”Wooo-gu-pah!!”
With a strangled, gurgling shriek, the weakened Kobold burst apart. It had been an incredibly exhausting battle of attrition to get this far-but the scales had finally tipped. Now, it was just a one-on-one against a regular Kobold.
”Good, my body can still move! Just stay sharp and don’t get sloppy!”
I continued to chip away at the remaining Kobold, which was still attacking with plenty of energy. Eventually, I managed to trigger a debuff through an Adversarial Pressure Point. Once the creature was reduced to a pathetic weakling, I beat it into a pulp until it finally dissolved into smoke.

Glossary:
Notes:
• Minami – Minami-chan, the petite ‘Loli Princess’ of the Four Heavenly Kings, boasts blue twin-tails, a fluffy-skirted dress revealing symbol-marked cotton underwear and rope-bound panties, an eye mask, and a flat figure; she wields dual swords, leads the party’s speed, trains the protagonist in evasion, and seeks Kanade’s pain-training. After clearing Phase One using Stamina Enhancement pressure points, she was teased by an explorer wielding ‘Sky-Ripping Slash’ after discovering her underwear—now cited as a benchmark for powerful offensive abilities.
• Mana – Kanade, Class President and one of the Four Heavenly Kings, is a benchmark for high combat sense, wielding the Sage job with precision; she sports a long black ponytail, glasses, and immaculate attire reinforced with bracers and leg guards. As the protagonist’s primary partner and emotional anchor, she trains him in close-quarters combat, evasion, and pressure-point techniques, while administering Hirosawa’s restorative liquid and requiring sexual release to counter aphrodisiacs—she remains his top favorite virgin.
