Volume 1 Chapter 29 Setting Out

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

I was lying in a field hospital bed. The reason wasn’t a typical militia injury or a broken bone. It was an inflammation of the testes. To put it bluntly, my balls were swollen to the size of grapefruit.

My legs were spread wide and strapped down to keep me from moving. Naturally, my underwear had been stripped away, and a cold, wet towel was currently draped over my pathetic junk.

The story goes back to just after noon today. I was tied to a bed in the examination room, my crotch left at the mercy of three witches. Those “witches” were Chulpan Luria, a medical mage at this field hospital; Major Sonya Kitinoa, known as the “Witch of the Black Forest” (Hexa des Schwarzwalds¹) and commander of the Golem Battalion; and her vice-commander, Lieutenant Louise Roman.

At first, they were just touching me. The three of them seemed to delight in how my lower abdomen reacted. If it had ended there, I might have written it off as some twisted humiliation play—the kind of “naughty behavior” you’d expect from middle-school brats. But they were all mages. As if it were the most natural thing in the world, they started playing with my Mana.

Even that, I could have forgiven. It was a sensation I’d never experienced before, and I can’t deny there was a certain… intensity to the pleasure.

”Did you know? If you insert a finger into the rectum, men have a walnut-sized organ right in the front,” Chulpan said.

”Ooh, tell me more!” Major Sonya replied.

”They say a man can reach his peak just from stimulating that one spot,” Chulpan added.

The medical mage had let something terrifying slip. I’d heard of this in my previous life—”dry ecstasy²“—but I had absolutely no interest in that particular hobby. If I was going to have s*x, I’d prefer it to be the old-fashioned way.

(That is a very interesting story. Now, now… a real man shouldn’t run away from a challenge. You might be missing out on half of life’s greatest pleasures.)

The Witch of the Black Forest (Hexa des Schwarzwalds) had read my mind. Worse, she broadcast her reply directly into my brain via Telepathy.

 (Louise. Put your finger in.)

 (Is that alright?)

It turns out Lieutenant Louise’s fetish was being a shotacon. Even though I was in a fourteen-year-old body, things were starting to develop. But her level of excitement was disturbing.

”Wait a moment. The rectum is delicate. Let me get the Vaseline,” Chulpan said.

Chulpan-san, instead of the lube, could you try stopping them? But the violation of my “chrysanthemum” was already a foregone conclusion. The three of them took turns toying with my defenseless body. Just as I felt myself teetering on the edge of that “dry ecstasy,” the Major sent a massive surge of Mana from her fingertip inside me straight toward my “rod.” The stimulation was cataclysmic. I erupted, losing a staggering amount of s**men in a single, violent release.

My mind went blank. Everything down there felt hollow.

”Chulpan, look! He came like a stallion! This is hilarious! Wait, I thought dry ecstasy meant nothing came out?” Major Sonya asked.

”I’m surprised too. I suppose it varies from person to person,” Chulpan replied.

(Varies from person to person? Who else did you try this on?!)

”Louise, this is bad. It doesn’t look like there’s enough ‘seed’ left to impregnate anyone,” Sonya said, jiggling the loose skin of my withered manhood. My core ached. I was empty. I thought it was over, but I was wrong.

”Hey, Chulpan. If we pump Mana directly into his stones, do you think we can force them to make more?” Sonya asked.

”Well… it’s certainly worth an experiment,” Chulpan replied.

The devils had descended once more. Every time they forced Mana into me, it felt like being kicked between the legs. Major, adjust the dosage! Watch the Mana levels!

”Hey, do the balls get bigger like the rod does?” Sonya asked.

”I don’t know. This is my first time,” Chulpan said.

”Amazing! Look, the sack is totally bulging! This is too much!”

And that was the truth behind why I was lying in a field hospital bed for the second time. Fortunately, there had been no raids on the base, so I was the only patient. The only people who saw me in this spread-eagle state were the medics, Chulpan, and the apprentice, Nikole Jahn.

”Can’t you just fix this with a Heal spell?” I asked.

”Inflammation caused by Mana is tricky. Heal would just reactivate the Mana and likely make it worse. Unless, of course, you don’t mind your stones being crushed?” Chulpan replied.

”Then… what about draining the Mana?”

”Theoretically, it could leave permanent damage. But… it’s a valid experiment,” Chulpan said.

 ”Please, just stop,” I said.

Her diagnosis: four days of absolute bed rest. Nikole, the apprentice, wouldn’t speak to me—likely because her dreams of marrying me were now dead. Meanwhile, Larry’s Mana had recovered, but he remained in a catatonic, “shut-in” state. I remained in control for the duration of the hospital stay.

After dinner, Bours and Ed came by. For some reason, Rudy visited every day after that.

”I can’t stop laughing every time I see you,” Rudy said. “What the hell did you do to end up like this? You really are a piece of work, aren’t you?”

I wanted to tell him to get lost, but after a day of silence, even having a jerk like him around was a small comfort. Four days later, the restraints were removed. My muscles had withered, and my face was swollen. My stay was extended by a day for rehab.

To my immense frustration, on the morning of my discharge, Larry finally “woke up,” and I had to relinquish control. Was he seriously just letting me handle the painful parts?

* * *

I woke up in a bed. High ceilings. It looked like a ward in the field hospital. I sat up and looked around; I was the only patient. That’s right… I was trying to run away from those three… then what?

As I unraveled the memories of my Parasite Host, I realized something unspeakable had been done to me. Stripped naked, tied down, toyed with… a finger in my anus?! The cruelty was beyond belief. My blood boiled, but my opponent was Major Sonya Kitinoa. Moreover, the Parasite Host had absorbed memories of the battlefield directly from her.

There was another mystery. The battle at the East Gate—the reason for my first hospitalization. My memory of it had been a blank, but now, somehow, it had been unlocked. It felt like my own memory again.

When I left the hospital, the world had changed. The vacant lots were now filled with materials; people and tents had multiplied overnight. I joined training the next day. Since I was still recovering, I was assigned as a driver. We were going to the town of Obernbach, loading supplies, and hauling them to Linto. Rumor was that Linto was being transitioned from a mere base back into a proper town.

The militia drilling grounds in Obernbach were packed with tents for refugees.

”A lot of them want to stay permanently. They’re saying Linto might be the place,” Edmond said.

The Harmonia lords followed the Jesus Orthodox or Universal Church, while the invading Turkic Empire followed the Scripture Church. The religious divide was driving the refugee crisis.

”If the Turks take over, will we be forced to convert?” Marx asked. None of us knew.

”Bours is late,” Martin noted. He had gone to the command room ages ago.

”Is the invasion starting?” Rudy asked. “Probably. There’s a hell of a lot of soldiers here.”

A heavy, ominous tension hung over the base.

”Hey, you want to hit the South Gate tonight?” Rudy asked. He was the one who used to mock the place, but now he wanted to go buy a woman. “If war breaks out, you don’t want to die wishing you’d done it, right?”

He had a point, but my lower half was screaming that I didn’t need a woman for a long time. He offered to lend me money, but I politely declined, citing my “condition.” Rudy grumbled but ended up staying behind too.

Bours finally returned just before midnight and sent Edmond to call a meeting.

”Is it really starting?” Getz asked.

”Yes,” Bours replied. “I don’t know the specifics yet. We’ll know at dawn. For now: finish your meal before first light. Load three days’ worth of food and water and line up at the West Gate. Go to the new granary now for supplies. Tell them you’re the 303rd Militia, 1st Squad.”

 ”Right now?”

”Right now. Larry, get the wagon ready.”

We worked through the night. I ate my meal in silence, fueled by pure nerves. Our “three days of food” was just hard bread, dried meat, and beans we’d have to share with the horses.

”The commanders are back!” Rudy shouted.

In the pre-dawn mist, Bours walked with Second Lieutenant Patrick and the other unit leaders. They split off, and Bours stepped into our circle. An hour and a half later, the entire force was assembled on the central grounds.

The 101st Heavy Cavalry. The 102nd Light Cavalry. The 201st and 202nd Heavy Infantry. The 205th Light Infantry. The 301st and 302nd Engineers. And us—the 303rd. Plus the 501st through 505th Logistics units.

”Hey, isn’t that weird?” Rudy whispered. “The other Militia are all in the 500s. Why are we the only ones in the 300s?”

”Probably because we have that one engineer wagon,” I guessed.

The drums began to roll. I climbed into the driver’s seat. Seeing the whole army gathered was breathtaking. When the drums stopped, the silence was absolute.

”As of this moment, the operation to retake Vod Fortress is in effect!” a man in a brilliant uniform bellowed from a temporary stage.

The soldiers roared. The horses bucked in fear.

 ”101st Unit, move out!”

The heavy cavalry began to advance toward the North Gate. Finally, after the 102nd Light Cavalry cleared the gate, only our unit remained.

 ”Finally… 303rd Unit, move out!”

The drums thundered. My unit veered right. We weren’t heading for the North Gate toward Vod Fortress. We passed through the East Gate, heading straight down the road—the same road where the “Weasels of Bohemia” mercenaries had fled.

We were being sent somewhere else. Somewhere… more dangerous? Ursula’s warning from the party flashed through my mind. Her aunt had influenced the Viscount to put me in harm’s way. Bours had dismissed it, but a cold dread settled in my stomach.

(The amulet from Teressa-sama, myself, and Yutia… we will protect you, Larry.)

I remembered Nikole’s words—the Parasite Host’s memory of leaving the Fee family. I felt the amulet Yutia had given me, tucked safely beneath my leather armor. I rubbed the leather over my heart.

Right now, back home, my sister-in-law would be at the Village Head Tower with Nico. Yutia would be taking the sheep out to the fields.

I’m terrified. I’m really, really starting to lose it.
