Seeing that strange fragmented circle, the Mandrill’s eyes narrowed, and its body swelled from a small monkey size to that of a gorilla.
”So it’s a little Stray Devil from the Gremory family.”
The Mandrill asked gloomily: “Where is your Master hiding?”
”Dealing with you doesn’t require the President to act.”
”Arrogant brat!”
The Mandrill condensed a ball of black Youkai power; the strange and powerful energy wave attacked Aki.
Aki dodged to the side; the black energy wave smashed into the ground, black smoke filling the air.
After the dust settled, a deep pit appeared with spiderweb-like cracks around it.
”That’s it?”
Aki smiled, condensed another Thunder Spear, and simultaneously launched various low-level instant magics toward the Mandrill.
The Mandrill’s speed was extremely fast; all magic attacks missed, but it also let Aki get close.
Aki used the Thunder Spear as a sword; his sharp attacks occasionally took a piece of flesh from the Mandrill.
The Mandrill was only slightly faster than Aki; in power and technique, it was not Aki’s match.
After supporting for a moment, seeing it couldn’t escape, it condensed Youkai power to take a hit from Aki’s spear and forced its strength up again.
A familiar feeling appeared again; Aki perceived that membrane even more clearly than during the Ranking Tournament⁶.
