”I’m S-Rank Dungeon Explorer¹ Himezaki Sakurako. Great to meet ya!” said Sakurako.

We moved to a small meeting room inside the Dungeon Explorer Guild.

Standing before Mana and me was a beautiful woman, Himezaki Sakurako-san, whose stunning body lines were visible through her loosely worn kimono.

I had thought as much when I saw her from a distance in the conference room, but seeing her up close, it was clear she was an absolute knockout.

Of course, our own Mana, Minami-chan, Haruka-san, Rin-sensei, and even Maria-san are all world-class beauties.

However, the “beauty power” coming from her, combined with the overwhelming presence of an S-Rank Explorer, was a total wrecking ball.

Feeling my heart skip a beat—okay, maybe several—I returned her greeting.

”I’m Hirosawa Kanade, leader of the A-Rank Dungeon Explorer² team ‘Resonant Melody’³. Personally, I’m only ranked as a B-Class explorer,” I said.

”And I’m Tanaka Mana, sub-leader of ‘Resonant Melody’. While myself, Matsuyama Minami, and Izumi Haruka are all ranked as A-Rank Explorers, Kanade-kun is the heart of our team. Please understand that ‘Resonant Melody’ simply wouldn’t exist without him,” said Mana.

Mana said that for my sake, likely because I’m the only one stuck at B-Rank in a combat role.

Since I have a role that’s partly support-based, she wasn’t wrong about me being the center of the team.

(Though, knowing her, I can’t exactly rule out the possibility that she means I’m the “center” of our life together in the bedroom…)

Regardless, Sakurako-san took Mana’s words in stride.

”Kukuku, you’re really loved, aren’t you, Kanade! I love teams like yours!” said Sakurako.

She flashed a brilliant, straightforward grin.

Turning directly toward Mana, she continued.

”You look pretty damn strong, Mana! We should go head-to-head sometime!” said Sakurako.

”I think it might be a bit much for us to challenge a solo-certified S-Rank like Himezaki-san…” said Mana.

”Don’t be like that! The pressure I’m feeling off you is higher than most S-Ranks I know. You’re definitely hiding a trump card, aren’t you? Come on, just a little sparring won’t hurt! Please? Pretty please?” said Sakurako.

Sakurako-san pressed in aggressively, looming over Mana.

She looked like a guy shamelessly hitting on a girl, but because Sakurako-san herself is such a beauty, the scene actually looked quite good.

I felt like watching a little longer, but if I didn’t step in, we’d never get down to business.

”Mana, why not take her up on a mock battle? I’d actually love to see you and Sakurako-san go at it,” I said.

”…Alright. If that’s what you want, Kanade-kun,” said Mana.

”Oh, there’s that look! You’re getting fired up! You’re thinking of showing Kanade how you can beat me, aren’t you? I’m not losing! It’s a promise—pinky swear!” said Sakurako.

The hyper-energetic Sakurako-san linked her pinky with Mana’s.

Once the swear was finished, Sakurako-san spun back toward me.

”Kanade, you’re a good guy. In terms of strength, Mana’s got you beat, but I’m sensing a really strange power from you. It feels like I shouldn’t be able to lose if we fought… yet I’d somehow end up losing anyway,” said Sakurako.

”Haha, my actual combat stats really aren’t that impressive,” I said.

If I were allowed to use my ‘Instant Death Pressure Point’ (Adversarial Pressure Point), I think my offensive power would be decent.

But against someone of Sakurako or Mana’s caliber, even with my (Pressure Point Gun), landing a hit on a pressure point would be impossible.

In the end, victory is decided by the potency of the skill and the physical ability to actually pull it off.

”I can tell that. Which is exactly why I’m so curious…” said Sakurako.

Sakurako-san’s eyes locked onto mine as she murmured.

Then, in the next heartbeat, it happened.

Before I could register moving, I felt light—then my back hit the wall with a soft thud.

BAM!

She slammed her palm against the wall right above my head and brought her beautiful face close to mine.

”Hirosawa Kanade… You and your friends… that kind of power, that rate of growth… logically, it’s impossible. You guys are hiding something, aren’t you?” said Sakurako.

Trapped in a “wall-slam” by the strongest S-Rank explorer in the country, I found myself pinned by a pair of beautiful, razor-sharp eyes that seemed to look right through me.

 Summary:

Sakurako Himezaki initiates a high-energy meeting with Resonant Melody, quickly focusing her S-Rank intuition on Mana’s hidden strength. Following a pinky-swear-bound mock battle agreement, the tone shifts dramatically as Sakurako corners Kanade. The chapter ends with the protagonist pinned against a wall under the scrutiny of the nation’s top explorer

 - Kanade acknowledges that despite his cheat skill, his base physical ability is the limiting factor against high-tier opponents

 - Mana’s assertion of Kanade as the ‘center’ carries both tactical weight and intimate subtex

 —

 Character Insight:

Fiercely loyal and protective, she watches him with a judgmental, half-closed gaze when he interacts with others—her bond with him forged from their days as former class president and now battle-hardened comrades. Paired with a tactical strategist in a glossy black bodysuit, she scales and pulverizes giant enemies, balancing strategic brilliance with raw strength, all while maintaining an air of disciplined grace.

• Haruka – The Prince, an androgynous, busty Holy Priest with short hair and a composed demeanor, wields a massive mace to crush boss-level defenses as a heavy physical support in Resonant Melody. Her idol-like charm makes her the beloved heart of the group, blending innocent cuteness with quiet, formidable strength.
