Volume 3 Chapter 13
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
Completing the request I’d received from the Guild Master was going off without a hitch.
Originally, the former Tokyo area where we live is a place blanketed in Dungeon Energy at the Phase Three level.
Most of the monsters that appear are also Phase Three-level monsters, though the situation has evolved to the point where occasionally, Phase Four monsters bleed in from the north.
As for Phase Three—or even Phase Four—they are no match for me now; I can handle them solo without issue.
If I head north toward ‘Sano’ or west toward ‘Takayama’, I might even cross paths with Phase Five or Phase Six monsters, but that’s a different story.
Lost in these thoughts, I kick away an object that releases a light so dazzling I have to squint even with my eyes closed.
Despite being a rare monster boosted by a ‘Drop Rate Boost’ is nothing more than a Phase Two monster.
It stands no chance against my attack, dissolving into smoke in an instant.
”Alright, a ‘Black Ball’ with the Drop Rate Boost was a stroke of luck.”
Since the standard drop, the ‘Golden Orbs’, was already guaranteed, perhaps it’s simply a law of nature that a raccoon would drop giant balls.
Furthermore, while the Gold Raccoon is a rare monster with a spawn rate ranging from several months to a year, there are hardly any Dungeon Explorers tackling Phase Two Dungeons these days.
Even though it’s a “rare” monster, it’s mostly left alone, sitting in a permanent spawned state.
”…That covers the required number of [Black Balls], but… there are two more dungeons on my way back where Gold Raccoons spawn. I can add four more to the count.”
With that, I sprint out of the Phase Two Dungeon.
Outside, what was once a small-scale city is now nothing but a sprawling ruin.
I dash through the wreckage where monsters roam, moving at top speed.
While I’m capable of crossing a hundred meters in an instant, in ruins like this, I have to be careful; if I push off with too much power, the ground shatters beneath me, which ironically ends up slowing me down.
I hold a pace of about three to four seconds per hundred meters—roughly 100 kilometers per hour.
As I jog, I mindlessly cull the monsters on my path, aiming for the next Phase Two Dungeon known to house a Gold Raccoon.
On the way, I pass through a mapped Phase Three Dungeon that’s been cleared for total conquest, so I dash down to the fifth floor, wipe out the boss, and collect the Dungeon Core. The ground inside the dungeon is stable enough that I don’t have to worry about the terrain collapsing under high-speed movement.
Once the Core is collected, a short wait pops me out of the dungeon, and I resume my dash toward the next target.
Without pausing for rest, I continue clearing dungeons and gathering [Black Balls] until I eventually return to the Tokyo area, once a massive metropolis.
”…But really, what in the world caused these destruction marks…? They weren’t here before, were they?”
During this expedition, what really grabbed my attention was a trail of destruction stretching in from the west.
It looked as though a monster over 50 meters wide had moved through the area, mowing down every building in its path.
When you think of a monster that massive, you’d usually assume it’s one of those powerful Phase Five or Phase Six types, but…
”Usually, high-phase monsters don’t come to the Tokyo area where the Dungeon Energy is so thin…”
It isn’t that high-phase monsters can’t survive in low-energy environments.
However, just as high-rank Dungeon Explorers can’t efficiently recover their own energy in low-phase dungeons, it seems it’s equally difficult for monsters to absorb the ambient energy in these zones.
Perhaps because they dislike that, monsters from high-phase dungeons almost never venture this deep into the Tokyo area.
It’s partly thanks to that reality that so much of humanity has managed to survive in this post-apocalyptic new world.
”Could it be an undiscovered Phase Three monster with a massive frame…? Phase Three monsters are certainly capable of toppling buildings, though these marks seem a little too excessive…”
I mutter this to myself as I defeat the Gold Raccoon in the final dungeon and secure the last two [Black Balls].
With that, the Guild Master’s request is officially complete.
”Well then, time to head back to ‘New Tokyo’… It’s been a while since I’ve gone this long without getting laid…”
This expedition has spanned several days.
For the past few years, I’ve been using (Pressure Point) on at least five people a day. On busy days, that number has reached nearly twenty.
You might think I’d get bored of it eventually, but s*x is one of those acts that never loses its appeal, no matter how many times I repeat it.
With my c**k throbbing, I kick into a full-speed dash, moving so fast my body practically blurs, and return to the Dungeon City of ‘New Tokyo’.
