”I am so bored…”
Slumped over the desk in my room in the castle in the early afternoon, I let out a sigh. Everything I was supposed to do today, everything I was supposed to do tomorrow, is finished. I really have nothing to do; I’m bored.
”Your Highness, please refrain from such an unladylike posture.”
”Ugh… Elke, you’re as noisy as ever.”
”It is precisely because I am thinking of Your Highness that I speak so strictly. Your Highness must become accustomed to being watched at all times. Now, please, straighten up.”

I don’t think it’s necessary to be that rigid in my own room, but Elke has a point. There isn’t anything in particular to do, but I fix my posture and sit up straight.
”Elke, was there anything else today?”
”No, there are no meetings or appointments scheduled.”

Elke is capable, serious, and hardworking, but it is troublesome that she doesn’t understand jokes and lacks flexibility.

My father’s name is Alois. He is the current King of Maultasche. Externally, he acts with great dignity, but in front of me, he is a doting parent. Father has six legitimate children; five older brothers and sisters besides myself.

My second sister, Stephanie, has a slightly harsh impression. She is aiming for the throne and is strengthening her ties with the nobility, especially the Bloodline Faction. However, because of her harsh personality, she lacks the charisma to bring everyone together. She spoils me, though…
My third brother, Kevin, and fourth sister, Margaret, are married and have already renounced their rights to the throne. Walter, of course, and Stephanie are also married, but they retain their rights of succession.
My fifth sister, Charlotte, is obsessed with her romance with her fiancé. At seventeen, she is right in the middle of a “Marriageable Age.” I do not deny romance itself, but for royalty, that is not a good example to set. She will likely be far from the throne.
I also have to think about myself. Whether I marry and renounce my claim to the throne, or push my older siblings aside and become the Queen like Martina. Eventually, I will be forced to make a decision. Because I am only ten years old and hardly stand on the main stage, I am currently off of Stephanie’s radar.
How many years of grace do I have left? My sister is very fond of me, so the thought of opposing her makes my heart ache. Of course, the same goes for Walter. However, leaving the country to those two is quite concerning. At the very least, I see it as difficult for them to deal with the Imperial Emperor (Nadezhda) on equal terms.
If I am to aim for the throne, I need powerful backing, but no such person exists right now. It seems I could persuade the next Prime Minister, Martina, with logic and self-interest, but it is still too early. The Minister of Internal Affairs has some similarities to Martina, but because he has suffered much, he tends to avoid risks. Unless something extraordinary happens, he will likely support Walter.
Securing the support of the Knights’ Order, the symbol of the country’s military power, is also an idea.
Günther has strong loyalty to Father, so if we can keep Father under control, there is no problem. However, because of his line of work, he could die at any time, and it is concerning that he is older than Father. The next commander is not yet clear, but unfortunately, it is likely that someone from the Bloodline Faction, who is close to Stephanie, will take the position.
In that case, the Hero and their party members, or the Adventurers summoned at the same time, are the next best option.
Their influence is still small now, but by the time they finish defeating the Demon King², there will be no forces actively opposing them.
Even other Adventurers should reach S-Rank³ within a few years.
However, the difference in common sense and the lack of connection are problems.
If I were of “Marriageable Age,” I could have used seduction as an option, but that is impossible now.
When they had an audience with Father the other day, I was present, but they only glanced at me and seemed to have no particular interest.
Rather, if someone were a pervert who lusted after me as I am now, it would be troublesome later, so I have no need for such people.

Most of the time, I am left with time on my hands, just like today.

I feel like I’m forgetting something, but there is no greater matter than these sweets. My heart leaps at the thought of being able to eat supreme sweets regularly. I’m looking forward to it!
