Chapter 250 Silver Gacha
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
”High Heal!” Leticia cried out.
She held her hand over Hanako’s rear and chanted the healing magic¹ she had just learned.
A green light, far brighter than standard Heal, enveloped Hanako’s buttocks. In the blink of an eye, the flesh wounds inflicted by Sheena sealed shut completely.
”Buhi! Buhi!” Hanako grunted.
With the stinging pain entirely gone, the beast rubbed her own rear, a look of profound relief washing over her face.
Without missing a beat, she funneled her Mana Capacity² into a white capsule, popped open the bag of super-spicy chips hidden inside, and began crunching away.
”…Master. Give me the word, and I shall dispose of this sow,” Sheena muttered, her voice dripping with ice.
”Whoa, hold your horses,” I replied, stepping between them. “Even a creature like this has her uses in battle. Just let it slide for now.”
Sheena’s eyes were completely dead and unfocused-fixed with a lingering rage because Hanako had tossed aside her previous white capsule containing carrots, prompting her to stab the beast out of pure spite. Yakumo did his best to placate her.
”Yakumo! What exactly do you mean by ‘let it slide for now’?!” Sanae demanded, stepping forward angrily. “Don’t tell me you actually intend to butcher Hanako the moment you find a better tame beast?!”
”Of course I don’t,” I said, raising his hands defensively. “It was just a figure of speech… or whatever you call it. I didn’t mean anything by it.”
Sanae, having accurately caught the dark implication behind his words, cross-examined him immediately. He offered a vague, casual excuse to smooth things over.
”Well, as long as you mean it,” Sanae sighed, crossing her arms. “She might look like a total monstrosity, but she actually has her cute moments. I will absolutely never let anyone dispose of her.”
”Yeah, yeah, I get it,” I muttered.
(Can’t be helped then. The moment I get a viable replacement beast, I’ll just confine her to the isolated island under permanent house arrest. At least that way, I won’t have to look at that repulsive Provocation dance ever again.)
”Yakumo, my Mana Capacity is totally tapped out,” Leticia reported, pitter-pattering over to his side.
”All of it?” I asked.
”Mm. I can’t even squeeze out a single Light Arrow anymore,” Leticia said with a pout.
”How much Mana Capacity did you have left right before you cast High Heal?”
”Hmm… broad estimate? Maybe enough to fire off about twenty Light Arrows?” Leticia replied, tilting her head.
”Yikes. That is a massive consumption rate,” I noted internally.
Arrow-type magic typically consumes half the Mana Capacity of a standard Physical Reinforcement³. That meant a single cast of High Heal burned through an amount of energy equivalent to ten full uses of Physical Reinforcement.
Granted, it was a high-tier magic boasting a recovery output comparable to a Grade 3 Potion, usable completely free of cooldown constraints. Realistically, even if an ally was hovering on the brink of death, getting hit with two or three rounds of High Heal would instantly put them back on the front lines. Looking at it from that perspective, the high cost made logical sense.
Since Leticia is currently ranked at D+, her absolute maximum Mana Capacity pool caps out at an equivalent of thirty-five uses of Physical Reinforcement.
Because we always need to maintain a strict baseline buffer of ten uses for emergencies, her actual fluid pool for active combat drops down to twenty-five uses.
Leticia’s resource management is rapidly becoming just as critical as Sayaka’s. It looks like I’ll need to drop by the Shop soon and invest in a ‘Ring of Mana Capacity.’
A single ring costs a staggering 300,000 DP, but the allure of boosting total internal Mana Capacity retention by 1.5 times makes it entirely worth the price tag.
Fortunately, our current account balance hovers somewhere around 1.8 million DP. I already planned to spend 100,000 DP on a luxury jacuzzi bath during tomorrow’s scheduled day off anyway, so I might as well pull the trigger and purchase two Rings of Mana Capacity while I’m at it.
As a side note, considering we’ve slaughtered upwards of four hundred Orcs over the course of the day, our net earnings should comfortably clock in at around 250,000 DP.
Our current haul of treasure chests consists of four Copper Treasure Chests and two silver chests. While the inner layers yield fewer chests overall compared to the outer perimeter, the silver variants have consistently dropped a minimum of two Silver G-Coins per open. Our very first chest yielded three, and the second handed over two.
Factoring in the nine Silver G-Coins I’ve been hoarding up until now, our grand total stands at precisely fourteen coins.
With our currency verified, the entire party relocated, clustering directly in front of the absurdly massive, ostentatious silver Gacha machine sitting dead center in the middle of the room.
”Whoa… it’s absolutely ginormous!” Karen gasped, craning her neck back to look up at the towering machine.
”The turning crank is huge too,” Leticia chimed in, her eyes locked onto the oversized mechanism. “We might literally have to activate Physical Reinforcement just to force it to spin.”
”Funny how the coin slot itself is completely standard size,” I observed. “Well, as long as it’s physically possible to turn the thing, I guess it doesn’t matter.”
”Alright, who wants the honor of spinning our monumental first-ever Silver Gacha?” Karen asked, looking around the group.
”Me! Me! I wanna spin it so bad!” Leticia cheered, jumping up and down.
”Hmph. As for myself, I have officially entered a designated preservation phase for my personal luck reserves,” Sheena stated, turning her nose up.
Sanae scoffed, “Oh, please. You’re just planning to wait until everyone else burns through their turns so you can swoop in and skim the best loot off the top like you always do.”
”My, my. Could that perhaps be a bitter tinge of jealousy directed toward me?” Sheena countered with a smirk. “The woman who pulled gold and silver capsules back-to-back-furnishing our party with highly optimal weaponry and magic? Fufufu. Keep talking, your envy feels absolutely exquisite.”
”Ghhhh! You insufferable…!” Sanae growled.
”Ahaha… Okay, Leti, why don’t you go ahead and take the wheel?” Karen suggested, cutting in with a strained, weary smile to redirect the focus.
”Yay! Sayaka, hand over the coins!” Leticia beamed.
Sayaka smiled gently, handing them over. “Fufu. Alright, here are ten Silver G-Coins. Good luck, Leticia-chan!”
”Mm, watch me go!” Leticia said.
Snatching the coins from Sayaka’s hand, Leticia flashed a radiant smile before marching directly up to the massive machine.
The moment Leticia took her position before the unit, a glowing holographic spatial display materialized out of thin air right beside her, exactly mirroring the mechanic from our very first day in the dungeon.
===============================

※ Silver G-Coins drop at a fixed probability rate strictly from Treasure Chests.
※ Configured exclusively for 10-Consecutive Rolls. Guarantees Copper-tier capsule quality or higher.
※ The transfer or sale of any obtained Entry Permit is strictly prohibited. Violators will face immediate, severe punitive measures.
===============================
Man, that is absolutely beautiful.
The real stroke of genius here is the guaranteed copper capsule baseline…
When you look back at the standard Copper Gacha machine, a full ten-pull would lucky to spit out one or two copper items max. Furthermore, the explicit mention that rare Scrolls can drop directly from these copper capsules implies there’s a very real chance that high-value, intermediate-tier magic Scrolls are mixed into the standard pool.
Not to mention, the base drop rate for silver capsules has been bumped up from a measly 3% to a much healthier 5%. If lady luck smiles on us and we manage to snag a silver drop, an Intermediate-Tier Rare Magic Tome is well within our grasp.
Our current Beginner-Tier Rare Magic Tomes consist of spells like Impact and Fire Bullet. If we step up to the intermediate tier, we might be looking at direct, high-powered evolutionary upgrades of those exact spells.
The sheer anticipation for this very first ten-pull is already going through the roof.
”Hup… grunt… there!” Leticia muttered, her tiny hands working methodically as she slid the Silver G-Coins into the slot one by one.
The exact moment the tenth and final coin clicked into the machine, the center of the oversized, immovable crank split wide open with a sharp pop, revealing a standard, comfortably sized turning knob identical to the one on the Copper Gacha.
”Fueh?!” Leticia squeaked, blinking in utter bewilderment.
”Ahaha! Look, a tiny little knob popped out!” Karen laughed, pointing at the sudden transformation.
”They seriously couldn’t have just given us that layout from the absolute start?” I grumbled.
”How should I put it…” Sayaka offered with a strained chuckle, “the system planners seem to possess an incredibly distinct obsession with keeping us constantly off-balance.”
I could only sigh in sheer exasperation at the childish, mischievous nature of the Succubus Management system.
As for Sheena? Seeing how a standard white capsule wasn’t even a mathematical possibility on this banner, she looked completely checked out, staring off into space without a single shred of interest.
This woman is honestly unbelievable…
”Well, it’s way easier to turn now!” Leticia said, shaking off her surprise. She steeled her resolve and gripped the newly manifested turning knob. “Hiyah!”
With a sharp, energetic shout, she threw her entire body weight into it and gave the knob a forceful spin.
Identical to the operation of the Copper Gacha, the decorative replica capsules sealed inside the transparent display dome at the top of the machine began whirling around at dizzying speeds.
And then, in the very next heartbeat-
”Fwah?!” Leticia gasped.
”Huh…?” Karen murmured.
Without a single word of warning, every single light fixture illuminating the interior of the Gacha Temple cut out simultaneously, plunging the entire room into absolute, pitch-black darkness.
A moment later, a massive array of brilliant, countless stars was projected across the expansive surface of the domed ceiling, beginning a slow, hypnotic rotation overhead.
What the hell is this? A premium, high-tier Gacha roll animation?
Just to err on the side of caution, I immediately activated Mana Capacity Detection while keeping my eyes glued to the ceiling. Overhead, the celestial rotation began to rapidly accelerate.
The swirling stars gradually coalesced toward the dead center of the dome, condensing into a single, blinding beacon of silver light that began tracing rapid orbits across the ceiling.
Spurting a brilliant, shimmering tail of residual light in its wake, it looked precisely like a roaring meteor cutting through the night sky.
”Whoa…” Karen breathed, her jaw completely slack as she stared upward.
”Wow, this is so exciting!” Leticia squealed, her eyes practically turning into twin stars of sheer wonder.
After the silver meteor completed roughly three full revolutions around the perimeter of the ceiling, it took a sharp, aggressive dive straight down toward the machine, slamming directly into the transparent capsule dome.
The exact instant of impact, the entire upper housing of the Gacha flared with a magnificent, pulsing silver radiance.
”It’s a silver pull!” Karen shouted.
”Yessssss! We did it!” Leticia cheered.
The two girls erupted into absolute hysterics at the explicit confirmation of a guaranteed silver capsule. Right beside them, Lucy and Feli caught the infectious hype, bouncing up and down on their hind legs like hyperactive toddlers.
”Looks like the structural color of the meteor functions as an advance jackpot indicator,” I observed.
”I had no idea the system included such elaborate visual features,” Sayaka noted, looking closely at the glowing machine.
”I bet there’s even a hidden transition mechanic where a standard copper-colored meteor starts spinning around the ceiling and suddenly cracks open to reveal a silver light mid-flight,” I added.
Otherwise, there would be absolutely zero mechanical purpose for forcing the animation to drag out for three full celestial revolutions.
”Fufu. It’s exactly the kind of flashy, dramatic presentation that Karen-chan and the others absolutely live for,” Sayaka said with a soft smile.
”Tell me about it,” I agreed.
They really know how to play the dopamine receptors of a gambler like an absolute fiddle.
Clunk!
While I was busy exchanging dry commentary with Sayaka, the blinding visual effects subsided without me noticing. A capsule rolled down into the tray-it was cast in solid copper, notably larger than the items dropped by the lower-tier machine.
”Oh, it’s pretty big! Wait… huh? Is there only one copper capsule?” Karen asked, peering into the tray.
”Fue?” Leticia blinked.
Clunk!
Just as Karen and the others began to wrinkle their brows in confusion over the singular drop, a second copper capsule immediately rattled down the chute right behind it.
Ah, so the machine processes the ten-pull by discharging the items individually one by one.
Damn. Objectively speaking, this specific delivery method is infinitely more nerve-wracking.
”Whoa! Another copper!” Karen cheered.
”The tension is real…! ♪” Leticia hummed happily.
Clunk!
Clunk!
Clunk!
Karen and Leticia stood as if sandwiching the discharge port enjoyably, alternating between joy and sorrow at the colors of the capsules that came out.
Lucy also peeked her face over Karen’s shoulder from behind to get a bird’s-eye view, while Feli also peeked in as if covering Leticia’s back.
From an outside perspective, the scene looked less like a celebration and more like the girls were actively being ambushed by their own monsters from behind. Sayaka, Sheena, and I couldn’t help but let out collective, amused smiles at the ridiculous sight.
The machine continued its rhythm, spitting out a sixth and then a seventh copper capsule. Right when I was starting to calculate whether this sequence was deliberately back-loading the silver drop to the very end of the queue, the ninth slot hit-and a silver capsule rattled into the tray.
This one was equally massive, its metallic silver upper casing beautifully engraved with an intricate, sweeping wing motif.
”SILVERRRRRRRR!” Karen roared.
”YAHOOOO-I! ♪” Leticia sang out.
”An! An!” Lucy barked.
”Bau-bau-n!” Feli howled in response.
Leticia and Karen went completely wild at the sight of the silver drop, their respective tame beasts howling and barking in perfect unison right alongside them.
Yet, despite the massive celebration, it was incredibly telling that neither of them took their eyes off the drop slot for even a fraction of a second, waiting intently for the tenth and final capsule to emerge. Truly commendable discipline.
Because anyone who has spent time in the trenches of gacha games knows the golden rule: just because your main pickup prize breaks through on the ninth slot doesn’t mean the tenth slot can’t surprise you with a duplicate back-to-back.
Their refusal to look away until the final mechanical click was the absolute hallmark of a seasoned, hardcore gambler.
Unfortunately, the system wasn’t quite that generous today. The final capsule rolled out, returning to a standard copper finish.
”Yay! It’s a Magic Tome! It’s bright red… does that mean it’s for Sayaka?” Karen asked, pulling the item from the silver capsule.
”Since it came out of the Silver Gacha, it has to be something absolutely insane!” Leticia added, eyes wide.
It looked like the silver capsule’s contents had immediately materialized into a physical spellbook.
”What kind of iconography is stamped on the front cover?” I asked, stepping closer.
”Let me see… a ball of fire? Like a Fireball spell? Hmm, wait, the shape feels a little bit off,” Leticia murmured, tilting her head to the side as she examined the newly manifested crimson tome.
I reached out, took the book from her hands, and inspected the binding myself. The cover was meticulously crafted and heavy, featuring elegant, ornate filigree surrounding a central illustration of a dense mass of flame, just as Leticia had described.
However, the fiery mass wasn’t a standard, uniform sphere; it was distinctly elongated into an oval shape.
I had definitely seen an illustration with this exact structural contour before.
Right-the Magic Tome for Fire Bullet. That specific spell also utilized an oval silhouette to denote its linear projection path.
Given that this illustration featured a significantly larger, far more massive oval of flame, it was highly probable that this spell functioned as a direct, higher-tier evolutionary upgrade to Fire Bullet.
”If I am not mistaken, that should be the Magic Tome for the Intermediate-Tier Rare Magic: Fire Shell,” Sheena supplied smoothly from the back of the group.
”Fire Shell? As in… an explosive artillery round of flame?” I asked, turning to her.
”Yes,” Sheena confirmed. “It is an exceptionally rare strain of magic, so I have never witnessed its deployment in person. However, I recall reading architectural archives indicating it functions as the direct upward-compatible evolution of the standard bullet-class lineage.”
”So my hunch was right,” I muttered.
Surprisingly, Sheena was the one who supplied the answer.
For someone who claimed to have standard warrior training, she possessed an remarkably deep encyclopedic knowledge of diverse magic types.
Come to think of it, whenever she watched someone utilize a magic Scroll, she always had this subtle, longing expression on her face.
Could it be that during her time serving at the castle, she used to spend her free hours digging through text archives, secretly harboring a deep fascination with the mechanics of magic?
She was also incredibly well-versed in the practical, real-world combat applications of various spells, claiming she had compiled the data by interviewing human adventurers. Since the laws of the world prevent the Beastman race from ever committing a Magic Tome to memory, her interest had likely been born out of pure, unattainable yearning.
Kukuku. When you look at it from that angle, she’s actually kind of adorable.
”Is there something on my face?” Sheena asked, narrowing her eyes slightly as she caught me staring.
”No, nothing at all,” I said quickly, clearing my throat. “Alright, if this spell follows the bullet-class lineage, it’s probably best if I’m the one who learns it.”
If it inherited the structural behavior of bullet-type spells, it meant the projectile would travel in a straight, high-velocity linear path. That made it a tool explicitly optimized for frontline vanguard combat.
”Heck yeah! If it’s a bullet-type, Darling absolutely has to take it!” Karen cheered, pumping her fist.
”I wanna see you blast something to smithereens right from the palm of your hand!” Leticia giggled.
”Expanding the Master’s offensive repertoire is an incredibly welcome development for our tactical formations,” Sayaka added approvingly.
Sanae nodded in agreement, “Yakumo never misses his marks anyway. You’re the logical choice to memorize it.”
”Then, I’ll learn it,” I said.
With the unanimous consent of the entire party secured, I flipped open the heavy cover of the Magic Tome.
Instantly satisfying the system parameters, the book dissolved into particles of brilliant light right in my hands, burning away into nothingness as the knowledge anchored itself in my mind.
”…I see. Yeah, this is definitely the evolutionary leap of the bullet series. And damn, this thing packs a serious punch,” I whispered.
Reviewing the exact mechanical data and spell parameters flooded directly into my brain, the magic allowed the caster to project a massive shell of compressed flame-roughly ten centimeters in diameter and twenty centimeters in length-straight from the palm of the hand, detonating in a violent blast upon physical impact.
Unlike Fire Bullet, which could be casually snapped off from the tips of the fingers, this spell required deployment directly from the palm, meaning utilizing it effectively in the frantic pace of close-quarters melee would require some deliberate tactical positioning. However, the combination of high piercing velocity and an explosive payload upon impact made it an incredibly versatile asset.
It essentially felt like someone had taken the physical volume of a Fire Bullet, scaled it up by a factor of five, and forcefully cross-bred it with the explosive radius properties of a Fireball.
Deciding to conduct an immediate field test, I squared my shoulders, raised my palm toward a vacant section of the wall right next to the copper Gacha machine, and triggered the invocation.
”Fire Shell.”
Following a brief, distinct moment of casting delay as the energy gathered, a heavy artillery shell composed of roaring fire erupted from my palm, tearing through the air in a perfectly straight line toward the chassis of the machine.
The sheer velocity of the projectile sat comfortably in the sweet spot-significantly faster than a standard Fireball, yet clocked slightly below the instantaneous snap of a Fire Bullet.
BOOM!
The exact millisecond the fiery shell collided with the metallic frame of the Gacha machine, it detonated into a violent, roaring explosion.
Hmm. The blast radius itself is definitely tighter and more concentrated than a standard Fireball. Still, because the actual travel velocity is so high, there’s virtually zero chance an average Orc would ever have the reaction time to dodge it the way they sometimes evade Fireball spam.
The consumption of Mana Capacity was… about 2 uses of Physical Reinforcement. While a standard Fire Bullet only costs a quarter of that, allowing four shots for the same price, I usually have to pump double the baseline Mana Capacity into my Fire Bullets just to crack through an Orc’s natural defenses anyway. Weighing the output against the efficiency, this cost is completely reasonable.
Oh, right. I should probably test what happens when I pump double the raw energy into this version as well.
Without wasting a moment, I decided to immediately queue up a second round of Fire Shell, this time intentionally injecting twice the standard baseline of Mana Capacity into the matrix.
”Fire Shell!” I called out.
Following a noticeably longer, heavier gathering delay than the first cast, a massive shell of dense, compressed fire manifested right before my outstretched palm.
The overall physical dimensions of the projectile remained identical, but the external surface of the shell was now wrapped in a violent, cascading spiral of churning flame.
No, wait-the entire shell itself wasn’t just burning; it was spinning on its axis at high speed, creating a rifling effect.
In the next fraction of a second, accompanied by a heavy, concussive boom, the spinning shell of fire launched forward, tearing through the air at a velocity that easily rivaled the maximum speed of a standard Fire Bullet.
CRA-CRASH-BOOM!
The hyper-accelerated projectile closed the distance in the blink of an eye, slamming into the Gacha machine and triggering an explosion infinitely more spectacular than the first. The concussive blast wave echoed through the chamber as a wide-area sheet of white-hot fire rained down across the floor.
Oh, wow. This is absolutely phenomenal.
The firing speed, penetrating power, and explosion range were completely different. The consumption of Mana Capacity is severe, but looking at the sheer destructive footprint, this output could easily vaporize a cluster of three armored Orcs in a single, decisive shot without breaking a sweat.
With this specific magic added to my active loadout, navigating the upcoming structural hurdles of the Inner Perimeter battles is going to become significantly easier.
Furthermore, it should drastically alleviate the sheer tactical burden currently resting on Sayaka’s shoulders. We should finally be fully equipped to push into the dangerous sectors patrolled by the Orc Wizards.
We really managed to pull an absolute jackpot of a spell here.
