Volume 11 Chapter 21 Milk

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

After taking Ilse to Elmer-san’s shop, she started going to visit Luida-san and the others who took care of her during her slave days. Luida-san is quite the meddling middle-aged woman, or rather, she feels like a mother to Ilse. If she’s going of her own volition, she must not hate it. It was the evening after she returned, and we were relaxing in the living room, chatting.

”Hey, hey,” Ilse muttered, sprawled out on my lap with her stomach resting on my knees, talking lazily. “You remember when we delivered that… Rejuvenation Potion? to Elmer-san a while back? Apparently, things were crazy after that.”

”Huh? Is that right?” I replied.

Ilse is definitely in a ‘crave attention’ phase right now. At these times, she doesn’t get mad if I pet her tiger ears, stroke her tail, or—ahem—massage her backside. It’s easy to tell when she’s not in the mood; she doesn’t come near me.

Although Ilse is my slave, I let her speak freely. It’s more natural, and she seems more alive that way. Every once in a while, I see her dealing with customers politely, and it’s just so jarring. I have to hold back laughter, which usually just gets me glared at by Ilse. (It’s cute.)

”You guys rushed out in a panic, remember?” Ilse continued. “But the client wasn’t in the Royal Capital, so they had to lug it all the way out to their territory.”

”Oh, that sounds like a headache,” I said.

”They had a carriage, so that part was fine, but it was such short notice they couldn’t secure any guards,” she added. “Apparently, they got swarmed by a huge group of Goblins.”

Lately, monster attacks have been on the rise. They say the monsters are becoming more active across the board in anticipation of the Demon King’s resurrection. I’ve been pestering that tragic excuse for a Knight, Mercedes, to get information from the Knights’ Order to track the Hero Party and that other transferee, Yuko. The Adventurers’ Guild has also been putting out warnings. I heard this from my lover, the cool receptionist Diet.

”Hard to believe they made it out okay without guards,” I muttered.

”They were saved by an acquaintance of yours, Daisuke,” Ilse said.

 ”Oh? Is that so?”

I have a few acquaintances, but who would it be? An adventurer? Maybe Gerta, the wild lion-type beastman? The “Yamato Nadeshiko” party of transferee girls? Or perhaps the D-rank “Wyvern Slayers” party that my cheerful lover Grete belongs to? Since the Knights’ Order is stepping up patrols, maybe Cassandra? Or even Mercedes (that bumbling idiot) or Captain Emily?

”Did they say anything about the person?” I asked.

”I heard the name, but… who was it again?” she replied.

”That’s the important part! How do you forget that?” I exclaimed.

 ”Forget what…?” she asked.

”Don’t worry about it,” I muttered.

 ”…Whatever, I guess.”

Ilse is capricious. When she isn’t interested, her focus and memory are… well, you get the idea. Her stats should allow her to remember, but… ah, well. It’s not fatal. Not that I’m one to talk.

”They said all sorts of stuff, though—” she started.

”Alright, I’ll help you think,” I said. “Tell me what kind of person they were.”

”Hmm, let’s see,” Ilse replied. “They were this strong woman who appeared out of nowhere when they were on the verge of being wiped out and insta-killed all the Goblins. And they didn’t even demand much of a reward.”

”Oh, that’s gotta be Cassandra,” I said. “That sounds exactly like her. A Knight wouldn’t ask for a reward for something like that.”

To insta-kill Goblins, you’d need a decent level. That rules out the members of the “Wyvern Slayers” party. “Appeared out of nowhere” probably means they were on patrol, spotted Elmer-san’s group being attacked, and rushed in. It’s not Mercedes. She hates Goblins, but she wouldn’t show up “out of nowhere.” She goes full berserker on Goblins. And if they were saved with almost no compensation, it’s not Gerta either. It’s not that she wouldn’t help, but she’d definitely demand a reward. If she didn’t, people would start complaining later, “But you did it for free last time!”

”Yeah, I thought it was Cassandra-san too, but I’m just not sure,” Ilse muttered.

”What’s there to be unsure about? It’s obvious,” I replied.

”Apparently, they were hacking the Goblins to pieces with a blade,” she said.

”Then it’s not Cassandra. There’s no way she could hack anything to death with that spear,” I noted.

”Right, that makes sense,” she agreed.

Cassandra’s spear isn’t particularly long at the tip. Slashing is one thing, but hacking to death? Impossible, especially against multiple targets.

”But still, they apparently had an aura of strength about them,” she added.

”It’s gotta be Cassandra,” I said. “She’s got the power of a B-Rank Adventurer, so it makes sense that she’d have an aura.”

”Yeah, I guess so,” she murmured.

Elmer-san and his group aren’t combatants, so they wouldn’t be able to judge exactly, but they would still feel it. It’s hard to put into words, but he does have an Intuition skill.

”Anyway, atmosphere aside, they said the person’s personality was easy-going and fickle,” Ilse said.

”Definitely not Cassandra,” I countered. “She’s incredibly serious and dedicated. That’s what makes her cute, though.”

”Aren’t you the only one who says that, Daisuke?” she teased.

Cassandra is probably the most serious person I know in this world. Yumi-ko is a close second (though she’s a transferee). She’s the ex-wife of Osamu, the Sage of the Hero Party and my former shitty boss from my previous life. Because her views on men and women are so outdated, she’s very strict about public morals. Even so, I think she’s been getting softer and more flexible lately, but “fickle”? That’s not her.

”But still, it feels like it’s Cassandra-san,” she insisted. “She was a bit scary, and she apparently called you ‘Daisuke’.”

”It’s Cassandra,” I said. “Who else is known for being a woman even the Knights’ Order is afraid of?”

 ”Right,” she agreed.

”A bit scary,” huh? Probably because of that perpetually stern look on her face. I need to give her a massage again soon. And, of course, after that, we’ll take our time (definitely). And if they called me “Daisuke,” it’s not the ex-JK group. Only Rin, the big-breasted silent type, calls me that, but I can’t imagine her acting alone. Nanami the little devil and Hina the small animal would definitely be with her, and if that were the case, Nanami would be the one at the front. Plus, Gerta is apparently pretty scary to normal people, so if they said “a bit,” that’s not her either.

”Yeah, I don’t know,” Ilse said. “Luida-san said they were small-statured.”

”Ah, then it’s not Cassandra,” I replied. “She’s pretty tall.”

 ”That’s true,” she muttered.

Cassandra is about 175cm. In a world with giants, she’s not freakishly tall, but for a female human, she’s tall. At least taller than Luida-san. And “pretty big” isn’t just about her height. She’s also quite soft. (I know.)

”Did they say anything else?” I asked.

”Hmm, they looked younger than Elmer-san,” she said.

 ”It’s gotta be Cassandra,” I confirmed. “She’s definitely younger than forty-year-old Elmer-san.”

 ”Forty…ish? …Whatever, I guess,” she mumbled.

Cassandra is in her late twenties; Elmer-san is in his mid-forties (probably). It’s hard to judge levels by appearance, but you can’t really mistake their age range.

”I thought so too, but I’m just not sure,” Ilse said. “That person apparently wasn’t wearing any armor.”

”Then it’s not Cassandra,” I said. “A Knight would never take their armor off during a mission.”

 ”Yeah,” she replied.

If they weren’t wearing armor, maybe they aren’t even an adventurer? If they were a scout-type prioritizing mobility, maybe… but the ninja-like Takuya doesn’t seem like the type to wear it. Though, he is a guy.

”But they apparently had a dangerous moniker,” she added.

”It’s Cassandra,” I said. “When you say the ‘Ogress’ of the Knights’ Order, you mean Cassandra.”

Cassandra is harsh on herself and others, so she’s called the “Ogress” within the Order. It’s more of an insult than a title, and it doesn’t seem like people say it to her face, but it shows how feared she is. It’s definitely dangerous.

”Luida-san says she’s actually a rearguard by trade,” Ilse mentioned.

”Then it’s definitely not Cassandra,” I replied. “Cassandra is a hard-core vanguard. Her counter-style with the spear and shield is impressive.”

 ”Yeah, you’re right,” she agreed.

Cassandra can use some healing magic due to her Knight class traits, but she isn’t a rearguard. Her gear and skill configuration are clearly vanguard. More importantly, she has no long-range attack methods.

”Oh yeah, she apparently likes cheese,” Ilse said.

”It’s Cassandra,” I said. “She has that cute side where cheese makes her smile.”

”Isn’t that normal? Is that really ‘cute’?” she asked.

 ”Because it’s Cassandra, it’s cute,” I stated.

”…Is everything she does cute to you now?” she questioned.

 ”Can’t deny that,” I replied.

I remember she really liked the cheese we ate together in the village we were campaigning in. The gap between her usual stern expression and her beaming face was great.

”I don’t know about ‘cute,’ but she apparently had a strange way of talking,” she said.

”Then it’s not Cassandra,” I said. “Her way of speaking isn’t strange.”

”Yeah, that’s what I thought,” she agreed.

Her speech is, as always, dignified and masculine like a female Knight from another world, but in this world, it’s not strange. If anything, it’s quite common—standard level, really. Ines is the same way.

”Oh, and apparently there was this strangely seductive aura about her at times,” she mentioned.

”Then it is Cassandra,” I said. “She’s become surprisingly seductive lately.”

 ”Yeah, true,” she murmured.

Because I’ve been continuing the massage (and other things) since the expedition, Cassandra has really become seductive lately. She keeps a stern face while on duty, so many people probably don’t know, but it’s possible someone saw her by chance off-duty. That seductive look a dignified female Knight shows in a unguarded moment… it’s good, isn’t it? I’m starting to want to see her.

”But I’m still not sure,” she muttered.

”There’s no mystery left,” I said. “It was Cassandra who saved Elmer-san. Decision made.”

”But, the name apparently wasn’t Cassandra,” she insisted.

”Then why didn’t you say so!?” I yelled. “If she says it’s not her, it’s not her. What was all that back-and-forth for!?”

”Yeah… sorry about that,” she replied.

I can’t forgive you, Ilse. Looks like I need to punish you.

”Ilse, your rear is getting punished,” I said.

 ”Ehh!! Seriously!?” she gasped.

”What would you prefer? Being withheld?” I asked.

 ”…………”

”Which one, which one?” I pressed.

”…I’ll take the punishment,” she whispered.

 ”Got it!” I exclaimed.

Ilse’s bitter face shows this must be a difficult decision for her. She only gets to do it sometimes, so she hates being withheld the most. Apparently, the punishment is better than that. What a horny brat. Doing that with a growing girl like Ilse… it’s immoral and exciting, isn’t it? Everyone feels that way, right? (Only for those with the right tastes.)

”That’s fine, but… are you sure about Dietlinde-san?” she asked. “You have a promise with her, don’t you?”

 ”I don’t have a promise, but… you’re right, that’s a bit messy,” I admitted.

I don’t have a specific promise with Diet, but… if she finds out I did it with someone else first, she might get depressed. It’s not set in stone whether we’ll actually do it, but even if we do, I have to respect the order.

”Then never mind. I was so worried!” she said.

”No, I’m still punishing you,” I replied.

 ”Ehh, seriously!?” she complained.

”How about a hell of an orgasm all night long?” I suggested.

”W-well, if you insist, Daisuke… I guess that’s fine. Yeah,” she stuttered.

She says that while sneaking looks at me with a bright red face. She’s clearly looking forward to it, isn’t she? Does she like dirty things that much? She does. She even came to my place for that reason.

(Ilse is a total weakling, so she went over the edge in under an hour. She looked satisfied, though, so it’s all good.)

 ===

Narrator: “Will the truth be revealed in the next chapter? Perhaps.”

Meta Tsedes: “I’ll just say this: it definitely isn’t the clear-headed and dignified beauty, Mercedes-chan.”

Narrator: “Naturally. Daisuke-sama already denied that as well.”

Meta Tsedes: “And you’re not it either, are you, Narrator-san?”

Narrator: “Of course. I wouldn’t dare be so disrespectful as to drop honorifics.”

Meta Tsedes: “No, that’s not what I was asking.”

Narrator: “Is there anything else that would contradict my involvement?”

 Meta Tsedes: “Nothing… definitive.”

Narrator: “See? My de… love for Daisuke-sama is my entire identity.”

Meta Tsedes: “Why are you saying that so proudly?”

Notes:

• Elmer – A portly, sunny-dispositioned merchant in his 40s residing in the Royal Capital. Head of the Beunemünde guild and holder of Intuition, he travels often for trade. He is observant, friendly, and employs slaves, serving as Daisuke’s master. He shares a history with Ilse, formerly owning her and now acting as her master who grants her rewards.

• Luida – A middle-aged woman who previously served as a caretaker for Ilse at the merchant guild.

• Ilse – Ilse is a 17-year-old cat-type tiger-kin archer with a petite, boyish frame and gold-and-black hair. A fickle, moody level-18 Beunemünde Guild member in Daisuke’s party, this former slave-bandit and merchant’s worker masks deep devotion to her found family with blunt, unfiltered humor. She acts as a witty straight-man who prefers crab over meat and struggles to track high-speed fights.

• Mercedes – Mercedes (Mel), 19, is a 160+cm, brown-haired noblewoman, Knight, and Maultasche’s Home Secretary. A voluptuous, clumsy “disappointing beauty,” this energetic marriage-hunter and adventurer accompanies Daisuke to the guild. She provides information but breaks experiment equipment, fears Cassandra, despises goblins, and is a devoted mother to Patrizia, while seeking a Reincarnator lover.

• Diet – Dietlinde (Diet) is a 22-year-old, 170cm sheep beastwoman with porcelain skin and curly platinum hair who recently became Daisuke’s tenth lover and moved in with him. An efficient, serious Guild receptionist with a “cool big sister” vibe, she hides low self-esteem beneath a rigid core. Following a crisis, she is currently undergoing a process managed by Regina and Meta.

• Yuko – A 17-year-old, 160 cm transferee with a half-up hairstyle and thin armor, she is a reincarnated 40-year-old Earth civil servant now serving as Lady Xaveria’s apprentice. Regarded as neither incompetent nor capable, she currently lacks motivation. Her massive pride, toxic entitlement, and elitist mindset cause her workplace relationships to fail, leaving her isolated as she complains and spends wastefully.

• Daisuke – Daisuke, a 170cm Japanese reincarnate with tousled dark hair and amber eyes, is a cynical, analytical B-Rank solo adventurer. He utilizes wind/healing magic, a spear, and an infinite Item Box, showing unexpected ease during training. As the protagonist, he maintains equal bonds with several lovers, including Regina, protectively navigating relationships within his slave party and harem.

• Cassandra – A dignified, 175cm Knight-Vice-Captain in her late twenties with short brown hair, a sturdy, muscular build, and large chest. Known as “Ogress” and fond of cheese, this B-Rank spear-and-shield counter-specialist hides deep trauma and hatred for Otto and traitors under a cold aura. Günther’s niece and Emily’s squadron second-in-command, she is a fatigued slave to Daisuke, with whom intimacy is thawing.

• Emily – Thirty‑year‑old Captain of the Knights’ Order, wavy purple wolf‑cut hair tied back, powerful aura, wicked older‑sister‑like smile. Married, she leads the Third Unit, chaperones a high‑school girl party, teases Daisuke with disciplined charm, and after battle was found unconscious, carried by Cassandra while wielding a segmented great scythe. Playful yet rough‑caring with subordinates.

• Gerta – Gerta is a 190cm, muscular B-Rank lion beastman (~30, looks 25) with fluffy golden-brown hair, a predatory aura, and a short temper. She leads the Beast Fang party with Elisa and was Daisuke’s intense rival, shaping his legacy through a rough bond. A battle-maniac who prefers painful play (unlike Mia), her masochistic nature and scent often bother Camilla during dungeon crawls.

• Grete – Seventeen-year-old human Grete is a popular high-schooler equivalent, D-rank Spearman, and extroverted PR specialist for the ‘Lovers’ party. Energetic and physically fit (165cm, short orange hair, freckles, playful smile), she wears a chic, ruffled black dress. Highly sensitive to emotions and well-informed on combatant data, she moved into Daisuke’s house, actively seeking to advance their relationship.

• Osamu – Scrawny 160 cm man with messy, medium‑length hair. Though young, he looks older and adopts an elderly persona, using ‘washi’ and archaic speech. Once an 18‑year‑old team leader who died in a wreck, he is now the Hero Party’s Sage, wielding advanced Fire, Wind, Water, and Earth magic. Harsh and reputation-obsessed, he is an acquaintance of Otto and previously supervised both Otto and Daisuke.

• Nanami – 165 cm slender, short-haired transferee nicknamed “Mermaid” for her swim-club skills. Wearing modest chest armor, this vocal, stealth-class JK Party member slips into school life with a mischievous but restrained charm. A playful “little-devil” who gathers intel, she treats herself to sweets, stays close friends with Hina and others, and flirts with Hina while teasing and kissing Daisuke.

• Hina – A 160 cm athletic transferee, toned former basketball player, and swordswoman serves as her group’s dignified yet shy and easily flustered mascot. Homesick with zero romantic experience and no immunity to men, she acts as a level-headed straight-man to Nanami, fiercely protects Mizuki, and deeply values Grete. She sports a ponytail and thick legs under light chest armor.

• Rin – A tall, long-haired B-rank healer and assertive Yamato Nadeshiko leader, this former homebody club JK hides a passionate heart behind a quiet, stoic façade. Guarded around boys, she dominates Daisuke’s group but shares an evolving, flirtatious bond with him. Fiercely protective of the beast-man Camilla, she plans to move in with Daisuke just to stay close to her.

• Takuya – A 175cm, slender young man with asymmetrical hair who left the Hero’s and Leemans parties to serve as a ninja under the Maultasche Kingdom’s Minister in the Bureau of Investigation. Now under Ministry protection, he levels up (20+) in dungeons. He uses an archaic, faux-samurai persona, is stoic in battle, and forms the “Three Idiots” squad, but geeks out over anime and dates a fellow yandere.

• Ines – Ines is a tall, highly voluptuous 18-year-old D-Rank Magic Swordsman with long emerald hair and blue eyes. Wielding a wind sword, she is the kind, broad-minded leader of the Gale party. Though outwardly a dignified adventurer, she is secretly a clumsy, spoiled klutz. She is Daisuke’s recognized number one lover, welcoming Dietlinde into their cohabiting group.

• Dietlinde – Dietlinde (Diet) is a 22-year-old, 170cm sheep beastwoman with porcelain skin and curly platinum hair who recently became Daisuke’s tenth lover and moved in with him. An efficient, serious Guild receptionist with a “cool big sister” vibe, she hides low self-esteem beneath a rigid core. Following a crisis, she is currently undergoing a process managed by Regina and Meta.

• Meta Tsedes – A statuesque knight with raven hair, amber eyes, and polished armor, she serves as a dramatic commentator who analyzes and reacts to events involving Daisuke-sama. Her voice is honeyed yet venomous. Driven by an unshakable, highly flexible loyalty to the Order’s code, she frequently prompts conversations and questions the actions of others, filtering narrative events through her sharp perspective.

• Tsedes – The second half of the meta-commentary name structure tied with Meta, interacting directly with the Narrator regarding the dark tone of the chapter.

• Meta – A 160cm, plump, 25-year-old blonde priestess in high-waisted robes, this former duchess, divorced knight, and “Apostasy” outcast is Daisuke’s devoted fourth lover and Dietlinde’s roommate. Presenting a neat, polite lady persona, she acts as a party mediator, serves an orphanage, is cold to other men, and assists Regina with a secret process for Diet, alongside developing erogenous zones.
