Unlike the petite Mittelt, her body craved the affection more intensely. If Rias hadn-t been monopolizing Aki, she would have ambushed him nights ago.
”Let-s duel!” Mittelt stepped back, glaring at Kalawarner. “Whoever wins goes first!”
The blue-haired woman straightened, taking a stance. “Fine!”
They locked eyes, electricity crackling between them.

”Scissors!”
Seeing Kalawarner-s palm, Mittelt looked at her own fist, her spirits plummeting.
”I actually… lost…”
Kalawarner offered a motherly smile, patting Mittelt-s head. She mused that the duel method she learned from Aki was surprisingly effective.
”I don-t know what you eat to get a body that shameless,” Mittelt grumbled, swatting her hand away and punching her in the hip in frustration.
The rebound force only made the girl more furious.
”Are you jealous?” Kalawarner teased.
Mittelt huffed and turned away. “As if!”
While they squabbled, Himejima Akeno and Koneko shared a look, silently heading toward their respective rooms. If they had to choose between being willing or unwilling, they were definitely willing. As noted, Aki was the ideal partner, save for his chaotic relationships. Especially after the incident with Azazel, where Aki had risked his life to activate his Balance Breaker mode, they no longer harbored any resistance.
Yet, actually vocalizing that willingness was inexplicably difficult. This stalemate persisted for a week. Amano Yuuma and her group were already on their third round, and they still hadn-t taken that step.

Yuuma looked toward the listless Koneko and Himejima Akeno, nodding in agreement. “Understood, Buchou. In that case, can we end the training early?” Yuuma teased. “Since no one else wants to do the third phase anyway.”
Seeing the two stiffen, Rias sighed. She knew they wanted it; why couldn-t they just say it?
”Fine, we rest tomorrow, and the day after…”
”Rias… Buchou,” Aki interrupted. “Continue. The training isn-t over.”
He turned to look at Himejima Akeno and Koneko. “Akeno, Koneko, I want to engage in Dual Cultivation with you… no, I love you. I want to hold you both. Are you willing?”
Aki wasn-t a fool. Even if he didn-t entirely understand the female psyche, he had gathered enough over the week to know their feelings. Their only barrier was a sense of maidenly reserve.
Being confessed to by Aki in front of everyone left them both stunned, followed by overwhelming joy and embarrassment. Aki had been surprisingly proactive and direct, feeling a rare sense of shyness himself. He rubbed his nose, at a loss for words.
”I am willing,” they replied without a moment-s hesitation.
