Since the Succubus girl hadn’t harmed anyone, and the scent of Devils on her was quite distinct, the group decided to approach her first.

After inquiring for quite some time, Naruse Maria discovered that Rias was absent and hadn’t attended classes for a month; her mood instantly grew heavy.
She had gone through so much trouble to get here, only to find no one. Her time was running out.
It was impossible to keep Naruse Mio in a coma indefinitely. Once she awoke, she would absolutely insist on returning…

The ratio of “hidden” students to ordinary ones was about one to nine. Whether it was luck or misfortune, she had only encountered ordinary students along the way.
If she hadn’t been so conspicuous, the Student Council might not have discovered her so quickly.
Aki didn’t rush to answer. Instead, he nodded toward Saji Genshiro beside him and said, “Thanks for the help. I’ll handle it from here; please give my regards to the President.”
”You’re too polite, Uesugi-kun. We’re partners, after all,” Saji replied with a professional smile.
The relationship between Aki and Tsubaki Shinra was no secret. Aki had long been recognized by the Student Council as a member of Sona Sitri’s peerage, and they even kept a seat reserved for him within the council.
Saji Genshiro teased Aki with a smile before taking his leave.
His position was Bishop, and he specialized in intelligence gathering—she was the one who had been responsible for monitoring the Succubus girl.
Now that Aki had taken over, Saji was happy to be relieved of the duty; the Student Council had plenty of work waiting for her.

”Follow me,” Aki commanded.

Naruse Maria’s expression was grave. In her perception, Aki was just an ordinary human, but that underlying sense of threat prevented her from letting her guard down.
Seeing Aki walking away, she gritted her teeth and trotted after him.
She had too many questions. Even if she felt uneasy, she had no choice but to gamble.
Once they reached the Club Activity Building, there was practically no one around. Aki slowed his pace and asked, “Judging by your aura, you’re a Devil, right? What business do you have with Buchou?”
Naruse Maria, who had kept her distance while following him, hesitated for a moment. “You say you’re Rias Gremory’s peerage, but do you have any proof?”
”Quite cautious for such a young one,” Aki chuckled.
Aki turned back, looking surprised. The more he looked at her, the more familiar she seemed, as if he had seen her somewhere a long, long time ago.
He stopped and used his mana to manifest the Gremory Family Crest on his left hand.
Looking at the strange red pattern, Naruse Maria’s guard eased slightly.
Once she confirmed Aki was part of the Gremory family, she at least didn’t have to worry about him being a pursuer.
”My name is Maria,” she said, choosing her words carefully. “My mother is Shela, and my father is Wilbert. I was entrusted by my mother to come here and meet with the next head of the Gremory family to build connections.”
Before meeting the person in charge, the Succubus girl didn’t dare to reveal everything.
Besides, asking for asylum right off the bat would put her in a disadvantaged position; she wasn’t that foolish.
Aki frowned. Aside from the name Shela, the other two names felt very familiar.

But then, she realized something was wrong. Naruse Mio was still asleep in an empty classroom—how did this person know that surname?
Just as she was about to ask, Aki pushed open the activity room door and urged, “Come in and we’ll talk. By the way, I’m Uesugi Aki. Just call me Aki.”
Aki had taken charge of this matter, so Akeno Himejima and the others had gone back to class. Now, the spacious activity room contained only him and Naruse Maria.
”How do you know the surname ‘Naruse’?” the girl demanded the moment the door closed.

Naruse Maria was left dumbfounded by Aki’s question. Had she ever said Naruse Mio was her sister? And how did Aki know she was supposed to be protecting Naruse Mio?
Before she could clear her thoughts, Aki continued, “Don’t worry about how I know. Rias won’t be back for another three or four days. If you have something urgent, you can tell me first.”
Ever since talking with Rias, he had been completely at ease. Still, explaining these things was a hassle, so he decided not to bother.
Prophecies, divination, and the like weren’t exactly rare abilities in this world, anyway.
To increase his credibility, Aki specifically shifted back to his Devil form. The intense pressure slammed into the Succubus girl, nearly causing her to tumble to the ground.

Now, it seemed not only was it the same world line, but the plot had already begun—and there were secrets involved that he knew nothing about.
Aki was filled with curiosity. He desperately wanted to know the relationship between Naruse Maria and Rias, or rather, the relationship between their older generations.
The power system of Sister New Devil was somewhat ambiguous, but since there were god-level powerhouses, he knew they couldn’t be weak.
Basara Toujou’s “Banishing Shift” was an even more bug-level ability.

Fortunately, the news about Naruse Mio was a pleasant surprise. He decisively went with the Succubus girl to bring her back to the Occult Research Club.
Looking at the busty, red-haired, twintailed schoolgirl who was identical to his memories, Aki felt immensely satisfied.
No particular reason—he was just happy.
Just like when he first met Rias and the others, seeing the cute female characters from his memories appearing before his eyes sparked a sense of pure contentment.
