Volume 6 Chapter 3 Corruption Waves and the Breakwater of Love Fluids
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
The world had lost its color. The forest that had once spread a canopy of vibrant green had rotted into a graveyard of ash-gray skeletons, while the air no longer carried the scent of living woods. Instead, it reeked of decay, a thick, sticky stench like entrails left to cook beneath the summer sun. Every breath coated the back of my throat with a greasy film, and the leaf mold beneath my feet had dissolved into sludge under the acid’s relentless touch. Each step sent bubbles of brown, foul-smelling foam rising from the mud.
Across that ruined land surged a black tide. Bears, wolves, and the monsters that had once prowled the depths of the Magic Forest now crawled forward as Zombies. Their eyes had melted away, leaving empty sockets behind, while dark-red organs hung from broken ribcages and dragged through the muck. Driven by nothing but hatred for the living and an endless hunger for flesh, they lurched toward us amid a chorus of wet, rattling growls.
There were hundreds of them, while the Elf garrison numbered barely fifty, and by any simple count the defenders should have been overwhelmed. Yet no despair showed in their eyes, nor did their legs tremble with fear. Behind them, standing atop a small hill that overlooked the battlefield, was their King. With his arms folded and his cold amber gaze fixed upon the field below, he stood like an unshakable pillar. That single look bound the Elves to life more firmly than any protective ward ever could.
”They’re coming! Aim for the cores!” Farrell shouted.
The instant his voice rang out, a crimson flash tore through the front line.
”You think we’d let ourselves look pathetic in front of the King?!” Sylvia yelled, her voice bursting with cheerful enthusiasm.

Spirit Power erupted from her body. Although her Spirit Shroud remained the same crimson color as before, its density had reached an entirely different level. It no longer resembled a flickering flame. Instead, it flowed around her like molten magma spilling from a volcano, so heavy and concentrated that the air itself seemed to distort around her. The longsword in her right hand glowed white-hot as it absorbed that overflowing power.
As Sylvia stepped forward, the mud beneath her exploded, not because of the heat but because the ground itself could not endure the crushing weight of her aura.
”Guaaaargh!”
A giant corroded bear, more than three meters tall, stood in her path. Acid dripped from its rotting jaw in sticky strands as it swung a massive arm toward her, its claws tearing through the air in an attempt to crush her skull.
(Too slow.)
Inside Sylvia’s mind, the world crawled. She could see every movement of the creature’s muscles, every shift in the arc of its attack, and even the droplets of slime hanging in the air. The King’s fluids had refined her kinetic vision to its limit, allowing her gaze to lock onto the single point that mattered—the purple Magic Stone hidden within the monster’s ribs. Deep within her lower abdomen, the seal carved into her body pulsed with burning heat, and that excitement raced through her muscles until they felt harder than steel.
”Vanish!”
BOOM!
Her blade swept across the bear’s chest. Thousands of degrees of compressed heat erupted the moment steel met flesh, instantly boiling the moisture trapped within the creature’s body. The strike vaporized the heart and Magic Stone together while ribs burst into powder, organs scattered as a cloud of red mist, and the upper half of the bear’s body was blown apart by the combined shockwave and heat. What remained collapsed as a charred black husk, leaving no chance for regeneration.
Splat, hisssss…
Drops of acid splashed across Sylvia’s pale skin, yet the moment they touched the dense membrane of Spirit Power surrounding her, they slid away as though they had struck a solid wall before hissing into the mud below. The sharp scent of burning acid mixed with the rich smell of scorched flesh, hanging heavily over the battlefield.
”Haa, haa…! It’s hot…! The sword… it’s burning with the King’s spirit power…!”
Sylvia’s pupils were wide with ecstasy as she charged through the battlefield. Every swing of her sword sent strain tearing through her muscles and sweat flying into the air, yet even that exhaustion felt intoxicating. Having surpassed the limits of Gold Class, she had become violence given form, and every step of her rampage felt like part of a feverish courtship dance offered to the King who had shaped her into what she was.
Meanwhile, Farrell and the elite warriors stood shoulder to shoulder, forming an unbroken wall of steel and Spirit Power. Green light and flashing silver blades merged into a living barrier that held back the tide of corruption, while the constant crash of weapons breaking ribs and shattering Magic Stones echoed along the front line.
Behind them, bowstrings sang without pause. The women in the rear ranks drew, nocked, and released with the ease of breathing, each arrow aimed precisely at the left breast where a Zombie’s core rested. Driven by the power of Elven bows, the arrows punched through rotting flesh and bone before striking their targets with sharp cracks. Purple light burst across the battlefield as shattered Magic Stones dissolved, and one Zombie after another collapsed into the mud like puppets whose strings had been cut.
Then Melis’s voice cut through the constant rhythm of bowstrings.
”Right! In the shadow of the trees! Three coming through!”
Her bloodshot eyes swept across the battlefield, where heat and cold stood out in sharp layers of color. The Elves blazed like crimson fires, while the Zombies appeared as moving voids wrapped in lifeless darkness. Her concentration had sharpened so far that she could almost see the cold gleam of the Magic Stones hidden within them.
Mina reacted instantly, releasing the arrow she had already drawn.
Thud.
The shot buried itself in the chest of the leading corrosive hound, piercing straight through its heart and shattering the Magic Stone within. The creature collapsed before it could take another step, but the second hound was already gathering itself to pounce.
”You’re in the way! Burn! Fire, pierce—’Fire Arrow’!”
Without lowering her bow, Mina thrust her free hand forward. A bolt of pure heat exploded from her palm and slammed into the creature’s chest, instantly boiling its heart from the inside out. Flesh burst apart under the pressure, and the Magic Stone shattered along with it as the smell of burned meat washed through the air.
There was no time to rest.
Melis caught movement in her left-rear blind spot, and her eyelids twitched as another flood of information poured into her mind.
”Next is left! Jumping out from behind the rocks!”
”Eep!? D-don’t come near me! Go away!”
Rene threw aside her bow and thrust both hands forward in panic. Fear smashed through the restraints of her mind, unleashing the enormous Mana sleeping within her undeveloped circuits.
”Ice, pierce—’Ice Bullet’!!”
BOOM!!
What burst from her hands was no mere bullet. The moisture in the air froze instantly into a massive glacier that swallowed not only the three Zombies but the entire stretch of terrain behind them. Trees shattered beneath the advancing ice, and a wave of frost spread outward so violently that the surrounding air turned white. By the time the spell ended, frost had gathered along Rene’s eyelashes.
”…Eh? W-wait…?”
Rene stared at the devastation she had created, too stunned to process it.
”Still not over! Beneath your feet! A mole is burrowing!”
Melis stamped the ground in warning.
A scraping vibration traveled through the mud and reached Liana’s feet. Lowering her bow, she looked down with calm, calculating eyes. An arrow would never reach a target hidden that deep underground.
”Filthy.”
Without the slightest change in expression, she pointed her palm toward the earth.
”Water, sever—’Water Cutter’.”
Sshhhhk.
A blade of compressed water sliced through the ground. The soil split apart, and a bisected mole corpse tumbled onto the surface. Its heart had been cut cleanly in two, while pitch-black blood spilled into the mud only moments later. The Magic Stone had been severed just as neatly and no longer emitted even a trace of light.
”Front! A big one is surging up from under the ground!”
Melis’s voice strained as she tracked a cluster of cold signatures rising from deep below.
The first to answer were Serena and Elara. Slinging their bows over their shoulders, the two exchanged a glance before slamming their palms into the earth at the same moment.
””Earth, shatter—’Stone Blast’!!””
DOGOOOON!!
Their combined Mana detonated beneath the battlefield. The ground swelled upward and burst apart, crushing the swarm of emerging Zombies beneath overwhelming pressure. Bodies were mangled before they could escape, and from the cracks in the earth erupted a fountain of minced flesh, shattered Magic Stones, and foul bodily fluids.
”Haa, haa…! Next, where’s the next one!?”
Melis searched frantically for another threat. Arrows suppressed the enemy advance while magic obliterated anything that slipped through, and the seamless cooperation between judgment and firepower had transformed the Elves’ defensive line into an iron fortress.
Even so, the tide of corruption did not stop.
From deep within the forest came numbers so vast that they made even the crimson glow of Sylvia’s sword seem dim. More and more shapes emerged from the dead woods, merging into an endless black flood.
Then, just as the line began to show the faintest opening, it happened.

Summary:
The Elven garrison holds their ground against an overwhelming wave of rotting, corrupted monsters under the gaze of their King. Sylvia leads the charge as a crimson-shrouded warrior, while the archers utilize coordinated magic and tactical fire to neutralize the undead cores. The defensive line remains a desperate, hard-fought fortress as the sheer volume of corruption continues to surge from the depths of the forest.

Trivia:
The King’s gaze acts as a psychological and magical anchor for the Elves, preventing them from succumbing to despair.
Sylvia’s combat prowess and physical hardening are directly linked to magical stimulation from the King.
The Elven archers use standard arrows for physical damage and specialized magical “arrows” for high-pressure lethality.
The corruption is sentient enough to utilize burrowing tactics, which the Elves counter with precision area-of-effect magic.
