Volume 3 Chapter 54

”So, this is it… the ninety-ninth floor.”
”Indeed. This is the very floor that has remained unconquerable, even for you, Kanade-kun, when soloing the ‘Phase Six’ dungeons.”
”Which means this floor is our responsibility… the weight of it, I mean.”
They were right.
The ninety-ninth floor. No matter how many times I had challenged it, it had always stood firm against me. Even now, being mocked as a “cheat bastard” with the effect of 500 Pressure Points per hit, and even utilizing the (Adversarial Pressure Point) for an Instant Death effect, the enemies waiting for me on this floor remained immovable.
”Alright, I’ll go test the waters first. You two stay back by the stairs.”
”Understood.”
”Right. Leave it to you, Kanade.”
After that brief exchange, I stepped into the ninety-ninth floor.
It was a spacious, indoor-style dungeon, roughly five hundred meters square with a twenty-meter ceiling. The walls and floor were stark white, radiating a near-future, sterile atmosphere.
”Target confirmed…”
As if on cue, cylindrical objects about a meter wide sprouted from the ground. They stopped at two meters in height before opening like automatic doors. From within, humanoid robots with metallic bodies, standing about 170 centimeters tall, emerged.

Their faces were featureless, smooth surfaces. It brought back memories of the ‘Phase Five’ dungeon’s last boss—the one Sakurako-san had fought in a desperate struggle.
The same phenomenon occurred in three spots simultaneously. Red, blue, and yellow metallic bodies—mechanoids, for all intents and purposes.
”Well then, let’s get to work…”
As I moved, the three of them vanished… or at least, that’s how it would have looked to the old me.
Back when I first cleared the ‘Phase Five’ dungeon with Sakurako-san, I could barely track the movements of that boss toward the end. These things were moving even faster. A normal adventurer wouldn’t have stood a ghost of a chance at perceiving them.
But…
”Still slower than the enemies on the ninety-eighth floor, huh…”
With my current, ultra-enhanced Perception Ability, their movements appeared frozen in time. Even as all three surged toward me, unleashing a barrage of high-speed kicks and punches, I could dodge them with ease.
They had a decent combo, and parrying their coordinated attacks took a bit of effort—but only a bit. For me, it was simple.
Since my goal was to show Mana and Sakurako-san their attack patterns, I focused entirely on evasion, holding back my own strikes.
”That’s enough of that… Hmph!”
I dodged the red mechanoid’s strike and countered with a punch. It dissolved into a cloud of smoke. Honestly, individually, these things weren’t that strong—about the level of a ‘Phase Six’ 90th-floor foe. I could one-shot them easily.
So, why had I never been able to break through this floor?
”They revive, don’t they…”
Right where the red mechanoid had been, another cylinder sprouted, and a fresh red unit emerged. Seeing this, I moved instantly: I took down the blue one that had been attacking me, pursued the yellow one that was trying to gain distance, and then dashed over to crush the new red one.
The time lag was virtually non-existent.
But…
”In theory, you’d think taking them all down at once would solve it, but just catching them in the same timing isn’t enough…”
Three new cylinders rose immediately, spawning a new red, blue, and yellow trio.
I had tried everything to beat them simultaneously. I’d tried throwing one to knock back another, then dashing to finish the third. But they seemed programmed to avoid simultaneous defeat at all costs—using high-speed movement skills to delay their takedown or boosting their defense at the last second to offset the timing.
The Unique Job [Vital Point Practitioner] lacked any area-of-effect attack skills. Even with my current, super-enhanced speed and power, downing all three at the exact same moment was impossible.
”If I’d kept using (Rod-Type Pressure Point) another ten thousand times, I might have been able to brute-force it with my own ability alone… but Mana and Sakurako-san grew faster than I did.”
Exactly. There was a way to take them down at the same time. Even if I couldn’t do it alone, the three of us could.
These mechanoids were formidable, and I wasn’t about to call this easy. But with our hearts and bodies perfectly in sync—me, Mana, and Sakurako-san. We could definitely pull this off.
”Sorry to keep you waiting, Kanade-kun. We are ready.”
”Yeah, Mana’s right! Let’s crush these things together, Kanade!”
Facing the trio of red, blue, and yellow mechanoids emerging from the cylinders, the three of us—Mana, Sakurako-san, and I—stepped forward, shoulder to shoulder, and entered our combat stance.

Summary:
Kanade, Mana, and Sakurako arrive at the challenging ninety-ninth floor of the dungeon to attempt a group clear. Kanade demonstrates the difficulty of the floor by revealing how the mechanoid enemies instantly revive unless defeated simultaneously. The trio prepares to combine their efforts to overcome the floor’s unique mechanics.

Trivia:
The ninety-ninth floor is described as having a near-future, sterile aesthetic with white walls.
Kanade’s job, Vital Point Practitioner, lacks area-of-effect skills, complicating simultaneous enemy defeat.
The mechanoids use adaptive skills like temporary defense boosts to prevent being defeated at the same time.
