Aki knocked on the front door of the Hyoudou home. Soon, a confused voice came from inside.
”Yes, coming!”
A moment later, the door swung open. An elegant middle-aged woman peeked halfway out.
”May I ask who you are looking for?”
”Good morning, ma’am,” Aki said with a cheerful smile. “We are looking for Hyoudou-classmate. We are his friends.”
Mrs. Hyoudou’s eyes crinkled into happy slits. She looked very surprised. “Issei’s friends? My, my, when did this boy make such handsome friends without even telling me?”
”Please, do come in. Issei has not woken up yet. I will go call him.”
”Then we shall be intruding.”
Aki and Yuuto swapped their shoes for slippers in the entryway. Then, they stepped into the Hyoudou living room.
Mrs. Hyoudou served tea and snacks. They exchanged some polite greetings. Then she headed upstairs to wake up Hyoudou Issei, who was still in bed.
Aki kept his usual “friendly acquaintance” attitude. Yuuto was not in the best mood. But he could still act like a warm, thoughtful guy.
Mrs. Hyoudou did not suspect a thing. She had smiling, crescent-moon eyes and that [dangerous hairstyle]1. She might look like a hidden final boss. However, Aki knew she was truly just a normal mother. At most, she was a bit too relaxed.
This came from the memories in his mind. It also came from meeting her just now.
From the moment he met her, he had been watching her closely. No matter how you looked at it, she was just an ordinary person.
It made sense, though. Even if [High School DxD] is a fan-service series, it is also a hot-blooded one.
Aside from the [Boosted Gear], it never gave Hyoudou Issei any other cheats.

Aki and Hyoudou Issei had a decent relationship. Even after taking the [Boosted Gear], he had instinctively kept his distance. But the two could still be called friends.
The “techniques and experiences for picking up girls” that Aki had taught him were indeed useful. If it weren’t for his reputation as one of the [Pervert Trio] being so loud, things would be different. Add in the disruptions of his other two deadbeat friends.
