Yuzuki Nonaka held Rias’s gaze for a moment before speaking. “Before the formal documents arrive, I would like to begin the surveillance work immediately.”
”Are you two really the only ones assigned to this?” Rias asked, studying the pair of hero-schoolgirl sisters with a cool, calm gaze.
”Yes, just us,” Yuzuki replied. “One of us is responsible for close-range monitoring of Aki Uesugi, while the other observes the activities of the Occult Research Club (a school club that researches the supernatural).”
Perhaps knowing that this was a space occupied entirely by women, and that sending a male observer would never be approved, the Hero Village had indeed limited the mission to just the Nonaka sisters.
As for why they wouldn’t send a male-female pair, with the man responsible for the close monitoring of Aki…
Yuzuki recalled the specific instructions given by the village elders, and a faint redness rose to her cold, pale face, though she quickly hid it.
”If it is just the two of you, that is perfectly acceptable,” Rias said calmly.
They had no intention of causing trouble in the Human World. If the Hero Clan (a group of warriors who fight evil) was genuinely worried and had simply sent people to oversee matters, she had no reason not to cooperate.
The corner of Rias’s mouth curled upward. “However, regarding our privacy, I would ask that you do not leak any sensitive information.”
”After all, with close-range monitoring of Koaki, there will be certain things you are bound to witness—such as our, ah, positioning in bed.”
The suggestive remark echoed through the room. Akeno Himejima also offered a knowing smile, narrowing her eyes as she studied the hero-sisters before her.
Yuzuki could barely maintain her calm image, but Kurumi certainly could not.
Connecting the dots with the elders’ instructions, the lovely schoolgirl with the pale purple ponytail flushed bright red instantly.1
Her beautiful eyes darted toward Rias and Akeno, and as she took in their curvy, teasing figures, she seemed to picture something truly shocking. Her small, delicate hands flew up to cover her face.
”Rias-senpai, thank you for your understanding and cooperation,” Kurumi stammered, her face still on fire.
Yuzuki cast a helpless glance at her clumsy younger sister. “To perform our duties more effectively, Kurumi and I would like to join the Occult Research Club, and move in to live with you all.”
”Moving in is fine; we have plenty of rooms. But joining the club is out of the question,” Rias said with a light smile. “It may be called a club, but to me, everyone inside is family.”
”While I cannot approve your request to join, you are free to enter and exit as you please, just like Naruse-classmate.”
Mio Naruse and Maria had joined directly, becoming part of the inner circle from the start, though strictly speaking, neither had officially joined the club.
Yuzuki did not push the matter further. Joining the club was merely a way to monitor Rias and the others; with access granted, the title made no difference.
When the lunch break ended and Aki and Basara Toujou walked into the classroom, they happened to bump into Yuzuki and Kurumi.
Through the Soul Network (a mental link between the group), Aki was already aware of their objectives.
The monitors were two beautiful, sweet schoolgirls; neither he nor the rest of the club had any objections.

Kurumi offered a polite, if shy, greeting.
The elders of the Hero Village held nothing but scorn for Basara Toujou, not only because of his lack of control over his own power but also because of his family line.
However, given the fierce strength of Jin Toujou, they found it difficult to go too far.
But these matters had nothing to do with the children of the village. To the Nonaka sisters, Basara Toujou was simply a childhood friend who possessed great talent but was suddenly taken away by his father.
Basara rubbed his nose. “Yuzuki is still the same, I see. If anything, you seem even colder than you were when we were kids.”
Yuzuki’s sky-blue short hair, fine as premium silk, shifted slightly as she tilted her head to look at him, before turning her focus back to Aki.
Kurumi pouted slightly. “My sister is actually very kind, she just looks a bit distant.”
”Is that so?” Basara shrugged, clearly doubtful.
Regardless, it had nothing to do with him. Seeing that Yuzuki and Kurumi seemed fixated on Aki, he decisively chose to use the “bathroom break” as his way out.
”Well, you two keep talking, I’m going to the restroom.”
Women only served to slow down the speed at which he could grow stronger—especially the troublesome members of the Hero Clan. If he could avoid contact, Basara was determined to do so.
Before leaving, he discreetly tapped Aki on the back.

With the silent exchange concluded, Basara vanished down the corridor, leaving Aki alone with the pair of Hero-sister flowers.
Watching Basara’s hurried retreat, then looking at the lovely schoolgirls in front of him, Aki suddenly had a strange thought: Wasn’t this just a case of each getting what they needed?
Yuzuki noticed the subtle interaction between Aki and Basara but didn’t give it much thought.
The village hadn’t explicitly identified Basara as a traitor, nor had they issued any specific tasks regarding him. As long as he didn’t interfere with her current mission, she wouldn’t waste a second of her time on him.

But remembering the files provided by the elders, they knew exactly how much of a scoundrel Aki was.
At first, they hadn’t understood why those women were so willing, but having seen Aki in person, they were beginning to understand.
Just like men who see a desired beauty—even if they know she is a ‘bad woman’, they are still willing to be played, just for the chance to be with her.

Yuzuki’s inner state was equally complex, but given her naturally calm features, her outward expression remained unchanged.
However, seeing that cool, beautiful face that resembled a “flower on a high peak,” Aki felt his interest burn even hotter.
Koneko might be stoic, but the feeling Yuzuki gave off was entirely different.
The former made you want to tease her; the latter made you want to conquer her.
”You may,” Yuzuki said. “Also, from today on, I am responsible for your close-range surveillance.”
”What about when I go to the bathroom or sleep?” Aki asked.
Yuzuki found it strange that Aki didn’t ask why, but she answered honestly anyway. “You’re strong enough now that you shouldn’t need to use the bathroom, right? As for bathing and sleeping—everything must remain within my line of sight.”
