Over the past few days, Aki had been spending time with Maria, Mio Naruse, and Yuki Nonaka. Because Shela and Lucia had not yet been rescued, Maria still held back from taking the final step. Mio and Yuki could only experience ordinary intimacy for now, not the deeper benefits of Dual Cultivation.
Aki did not press them. He was not in a hurry.
Since it was Saturday, there was no school. After breakfast, it was almost ten o’clock.
Aki took the Naruse sisters and the Nonaka sisters out, planning to find Basara Toujou for combat practice. Actual combat was the best way to improve strength and speed up control over their powers.
Without using his Dimensional Execution, Basara’s strength was about equal to the four girls working together. With Aki guiding them nearby and acting as insurance, there was no need to worry about anyone losing control and causing danger.
After Ras’s attack, everyone waited for Zolgear’s next move while also working hard to improve their strength. Whether it would help or not, getting stronger and controlling unstable power could only be a good thing.
Just as they stepped out of the front door, Maria, who had been hopping ahead, suddenly stopped. She calmly looked around.
After making sure no one else was nearby, she moved close to Aki and whispered, “Aki, they contacted us.”
Aki and the others also noticed the mark on the flower bed. After exchanging glances, they immediately turned back home.
Aki said, “Maria, go meet them and keep them stable.”
Maria said, “Okay.”
Maria took a deep breath, changed direction, and left alone.
Because they were worried something might go wrong, Aki’s earlier plan had not been carried out yet. For now, they could only keep delaying and hope for a new turning point.
But by this point, everyone understood that another turning point would be difficult.
Zolgear was not stupid. Once or twice might work, but more than that would definitely make him suspicious.
That was exactly what happened. This was only Maria’s third contact with Ras, but after Zolgear confirmed that Basara could not be captured easily unless he acted personally, he directly demanded that Maria drug Mio Naruse and hand her over to Ras.
Maria tried to stall again, but this time Zolgear was very firm.
Maria returned to the mansion and told everyone what had happened with a grave expression.
Mio said, “Let’s do what Aki suggested that day.”

If Ras cooperated, Mio’s safety would be guaranteed.
Aki said, “Wait. Maria, did they say the latest time limit?”
The girls, who had just been about to move, looked at Aki in confusion.
Maria touched her chin with one finger and said, “Hmm… no. They only said the sooner, the better.”
Aki understood.
This time was probably only to pressure Maria mentally in advance. The next contact would likely force her to act.
If that was the case, they could first arrange for Mio’s adoptive parents to meet Ras. Whether the plan to turn him would work or not should become clear at a glance.

As for Kurumi attacking Mio, the possibility was almost zero.

As Maria’s half-sister and a magic user, she was present during the teleportation sequence with the Nonaka sisters. Currently, she is imprisoned by Zolgear, held captive alongside her mother, Shela.
• Maria – A Succubus with a petite and cute appearance who resembles her mother, Shela. A subordinate of Aki who acts with deference. She is tasked with transporting Naruse Mio to safety. A succubus with a young appearance and a mature true form. She has long legs and a busty figure. A young Succubus with familial ties to Shela and Lucia. She attempts to manipulate Zolgear by threatening Naruse Mio to buy time, eventually being paralyzed by his magic.
• Shela – A petite, former Succubus Queen with white hair, curved ram horns, and violet eyes. Despite her youthful appearance and natural allure, she is the protective mother of Mio, Lucia, and Maria. Currently held captive by Zolgear, she guards vital Gremory secrets and key information on the super-electromagnetic device, while orchestrating plans to ensure her daughters’ survival and influence.
• Yuki – Shinomura Yuki, a busty mixed-blood demon and Hero Clan intelligence monitor, transferred to Kuoh alongside her sister, Kurumi. With white-gold hair and indigo eyes, she masks a stubborn, volatile nature behind a cold facade. While aiming to escape her village, Yuki acts as an observer for the Nonaka family and finds herself navigating a growing, nervous intimacy with her companion, Aki.
• Aki – A tall, handsome Kuoh Academy strategist and King-status devil with a powerful, dragon-like physique and scumbag-like charisma, he wields Dual Cultivation and soul contracts to heal, empower, and psychologically condition his growing harem of schoolgirl knights and supernatural companions. A master of magical tool control and Evil Piece distribution, he pragmatically expands his peerage while indulging his immense sexual stamina and appetite, balancing flirtatious charm with dominant control as he ascends toward Demon King-class power.
• Mio – A proud, red-haired, twin-tailed tsundere with peach eyes and a buxom figure, this Kuoh Academy transfer is the adopted Naruse daughter. Inheriting Demon King blood, she serves as a Bishop in Aki’s peerage, wielding fire and gravity magic. Currently unconscious and transported by Maria, she is sought by Zolgear for her power while navigating a complex, intimate bond with Aki and her family.
• Y – The first initial/part of the name Y Ddraig Goch.
• Basara – A pragmatic tactical thinker and Kuoh Academy student, Jin Toujou’s son is a magic novice wielding the holy sword Brynhildr and the Banishing Shift. Despite being alienated by the Hero Clan after surviving the Hero Village incident, this ally of Aki hosts a base to protect the Gremory household. Though a skilled combatant, his swordsmanship is notably inferior to that of his rival, Zolgear.
• Toujou – Toujou is the family name carried by Basara and his father, Jin, connecting them to the Hero Clan and an ongoing conflict. Associated with Basara—a powerful individual whose existence is known to Aki—the surname is recognized for representing high combat potential and formidable strength.
• Zolgear – This gaunt, ancient Devil Grand Duke is a cold-blooded magic master and researcher known for mental arts and artificial life creation, notably the creation of Zest. An Ultimate-Class demon leading a hostile Underworld faction from an isolated dimension, he is obsessed with absorbing Mio and Wilbert’s power for immortality. Though physically weak, he is a feared, ruthless threat terminated by Aki.
• Ras – An SS-Rank Doll Master and former orphan raised by the Naruses, this elegant, white-masked magic user serves as Zolgear’s trusted subordinate and infiltrator. Though he acted as a double agent for years, his complex ties to his childhood idols ultimately led him to return to the Underworld with the Naruse parents, abandoning his role as a pawn to guide Aki through the enemy base.
• Zest – A tall, curvaceous artificial lifeform with dark skin, purple markings, and white rabbit ears, she was created by Zolgear in his beloved’s likeness. Initially bound by a death curse to guard the Rook and serve Zolgear, she now acts as a loyal guide for Aki. Despite her programmed devotion, she harbors secret desires to break free from Zolgear’s oppressive control over her mind and emotions.
• Jin – A handsome, middle-aged man with half-rimmed glasses and a penchant for smoking, this powerful Hero Clan figure masks formidable strength behind a composed exterior. As Basara Toujou’s father and guardian, his connection to Naruse Mio leads to the exposure of her identity and Hero Clan attention, forcing him to navigate complex Underworld allegiances while preparing to travel abroad.
• Kurumi – A petite, spirited Hero Clan member and one of the transferred Nonaka sisters, she sports a pale purple ponytail. Tasked with surveilling Mio, this tsundere is more approachable than her sister, Yuzuki, and shares a deep bond with Yuki. Ultimately choosing not to report her mission to the village, she serves as an observer who witnesses the massive pillar of mana resulting from the rescue effort.
• Rias – A prominent female authority in the Gremory household, she is a high-level tactical advisor and protector who provides essential emotional support and safety for Mio and Maria. Beyond her tactical brilliance, she acts as a source of destructive magical power fused by Aki and maintains a professional interest in bio-manufacturing technology, serving as a key intelligence asset for the group.
• Akeno Himejima – Akeno Himejima is a beautiful, elegant senior of the Occult Research Club and Rias Gremory’s trusted retainer. A hybrid of three races, this tall, large-busted member displays a teasing, black-hearted personality. As a key communicator wielding golden lightning and Azure Flame magic, she masters Aki, providing him a surveillance familiar and overseeing post-clash cleanup.
• Himejima – Akeno Himejima is a tall, curvaceous Kuoh Academy senior, high-ranking Devil retainer in Rias Gremory’s peerage, and a powerful Occult Research Club member known for her strength in combat. Bound by a Soul Contract to Aki, she possesses long black hair and a queen-like demeanor. Combining sadistic charm with maternal authority, she wields golden lightning and is deeply loyal to Rias and Aki.
• Akeno – Himejima, a tall, voluptuous Orc-devil shrine maiden with raven hair, red eyes, and dark wings, is the “Priestess of Thunder.” As Rias Gremory’s loyal S+ rank Queen and Vice-President, she gracefully manages administration. Beyond her combat prowess, she is the soul-bound contract partner of Akira, maintaining a deep, affectionate bond with him and constantly longing for his attention.
• Minami – A kimono-clad Bishop in Riser’s peerage who also operates alongside Minami to monitor the situation and maintain communication with Aki.
