Chapter 178 Mine Roller

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Woke to noise and sunlight in my face. Living room. For a second, didn’t know where I was—then memories of drinking with Jiji Entier and the Part-Time Leader hit. Dull throb in my head. Hangover.

 ”Morning, Tatara. Sleep well?”

Voice from above. Tried to move, couldn’t. Looked down—familiar deep purple hair and wings. Part-time leader clinging to me.

”She’s taken a real liking to you. Even when I pull her off, she just hugs tighter.”

Heard the laughter. Tried to turn my neck—hit an obstruction. Realized the owner of the two mountain peaks.

 ”Morning, Ethelena.”

 ”Mmm, morning… voice sounds rough?”

The alcohol had done a number on me. Once she pointed it out, I could feel how rough my throat was. Brain running at half speed. Bad.

”So you two drank Tatara-san under the table and left him here?”

”Kalan, even I’m mad at this one.”

The noise was Mother-in-Law and Baba Entier scolding those two. Looked toward the sound—full-grown adults sitting in seiza1, heads hung low.

”You drank quite a bit. Want a bath to freshen up?”

 ”Yeah… good idea.”

Tried to get up—couldn’t move. Part-time leader still hugging tight. What do I do?

White socks and skirt hem entered my vision. Then a kick to the Part-time leader’s back.

 (Wake up, useless sister!)

 (Ouch!?)

Looked up—’Chef’ holding a bento box, pure rage. She’d noticed I spent yesterday doing city work without lunch. The kick made her let go.

(What are you doing clinging to Tatara-san? Shameless!)

 (B-but Tatara-kun was warmer than the futon…)

(A man and woman past seven shouldn’t sit together. Physical contact is beneath a maid!)

(Don’t think you should say that, Big Sister!)

Yeah. Not something someone who stripped in front of me should say.

 ”Morning, ‘Chef.’ Morning, Part-time leader.”

Jumped in before the lecture heated up. It worked—’Chef’ shifted focus.

 (Good morning, Tatara-san.)

 (Morning, Tatara-kun!)

Perfect curtsy from ‘Chef.’ Soft, fuzzy smile from the other. They’ve gotten used to me.

 (Tatara-san, your voice sounds terrible.)

”Yeah. Dead drunk. Alcohol burn, not a cold.”

She sighed, took a canteen from her Inventory, poured into a cup. I sniffed—slightly acidic, sharp.

 ”…Lemonade?”

(Yes. You looked busy yesterday. Prepared it so you wouldn’t have fatigue.)

 ”I see. Thanks.”

I sipped slowly. Didn’t cure the hangover fully, but the throat discomfort vanished. Tart lemon, sweet honey, hint of ginger and spices—not cloying.

 ”Thanks. Delicious.”

(Of course. Prepared it for you specifically.)

She’d gauged my palate and made the perfect thing.

”Alright. Heading to the bath to wash off the alcohol.”

(Yes. I’ll help with breakfast. Please go get refreshed.)

Stood up unsteady. Ethelena supported me. ‘Chef’ rushed the Part-time leader to change and help. The chaos slowly settled. Good opportunity.

* * *

Wet splashes in the bathroom. Ethelena, face buried in my crotch, licking my manhood.

 ”Ghh… Ethe-lena…”

Intense pleasure first thing in the morning—thoughts spinning. She ran her tongue from base to tip, then sucked. I clenched my teeth. Ten minutes in, I was on the verge.

 ”Nyufu, fafarafamanhina-hideh-hithah-hiha-hihe?”

”Don’t talk with it in your mouth—”

She felt better than before. Knew my weak spots. Her technique had improved.

I wanted to retaliate with caressing—but the stimulation was too much. Seeing my face as I bit back pleasure, she smiled beguilingly and pressed harder. Targeted the underside, frenulum, even shoved her tongue tip into the urethral opening. Felt like my brain was scorched.

I couldn’t hold out. E**culated. Massive amount into her mouth. She swallowed, but overflow ran down her mouth corners. After nearly a minute, she sucked at the opening to draw out the last fluid.

The dull ache in my head vanished.

 ”How is it? Head clear?”

”Y-yeah. Is this also ‘Sex Sorcery’?”

”Yup. Type of ‘healing magic’ called ‘Sex Sweeping.’ Sucks the bad stuff right out.”

Another ability I didn’t know. The thing I understood least in this world might be her Sex Sorcery.

”It helped. But… is it okay for you to swallow the bad stuff?”

”Tatara. We Succubi live off vital energy. Even with bad stuff mixed in, I can digest it.”

Whenever sex is involved, Succubi are too broken. Ignoring my awe, she placed hands on the bathtub edge and turned her backside to me.

 ”No, wait—you’re pregnant!”

”I still want you, Tatara. I’m a Succubus.”

Even so, I’m scared it’ll affect the child.

”Besides, your s**men can become nutrients for the baby.”

 ”Wait, what?”

”We convert vital energy into Mana. I can turn your s**men into Mana and use it as nutrients.”

 Succubi really have convenient physiology.

”So give me your ‘semen-milk’, Tatara?”

”Where do you pick up that vocabulary?”

I threw a tsukkomi2 and pressed my manhood against her twitching opening. Thrust inside. She cried out in joy. My brain scorched again by pleasure I could never tire of. I kneaded her yielding breasts, slammed my hips.

Toyed with her hard n**ples with my fingers. Remembered from my past life—if n**ples are too hard, a baby might mistake them for a foreign object. So I stimulated them with massage-like pinching. To soften them.

Reached my limit. Pulled her close, made her sit on top of me. Her weight drove me deep inside, reshaping her thin stomach from inside out. Grabbed her chin as she struggled for breath. Pressed my lips to hers.

Suffocation made her v**inal walls writhe. Couldn’t resist. Pumped s**men deep into her. Kept spurting as much as before. When the feeling faded, I withdrew. The thick cloudy fluid didn’t flow out. Her v**ina swallowed every bit.

I hustled way too much this morning. Probably wrong to finish in the morning just because we couldn’t last night. But thanks to Ethelena, the hangover was gone. Felt physically great. Net positive.

* * *

Breakfast wasn’t ready yet. Morning training—Jiji Entier putting Tatia through her paces. Almost too awe-inspiring to watch. As I watched, Baba Entier approached me and Ethelena.

 ”Good morning, Tatara-chan. Feel refreshed?”

”Y-yes. Feel refreshed after sweating it out.”

 She gave a mischievous smile.

”Checking your love for each other first thing in the morning… you two really are in love!”

 ’…Eh?’

How does she know we were busy in the bath? Succubus trait?

 ”How did you…?”

”How? Your voices in the bathhouse could be heard all the way out in the garden.”

Never wanted to die quite this much. Worse than when Dahlia asked if she should call me Big Brother?

 ”U-um…”

 ”Oh, don’t be shy, Ethelena-chan!”

She smiled at Ethelena, face cycling red and blue. She’s going to finish me off.

”People who love each other verifying their love is natural. Be proud that you both desire each other!”

Succubus thinking. I just can’t understand it.

 ”Oh, good morning, Master-degozaru.”

Ichika and the others had finished cooking and were setting the table. I should return the greeting—except I couldn’t move a muscle.

 ”…Master?”

She approached with concern. I turned my face toward her with stiff, awkward motions.

 ”Hey, Ichika.”

”What is it, Master-degozaru? Rare for you not to—”

”Is it true the sound from the bathhouse could be heard all the way out here?”

She looked confused for a moment, then made a terribly awkward expression. I see. Heard every word, loud and clear.

I took Mithril silver thread from my Inventory, twisted it into rope, and hung it over a nearby beam—a makeshift platform.

”…Tatara. Please do one for me too.”

 ”Understood.”

Ethelena caught on. I made another set and handed it over.

”Good morning—Wait, what are you two doing!?”

Yohira burst in with a cheerful greeting, then screamed. Drew ‘Temari-hana’ from her Inventory. Struck so fast she left an afterimage. Sliced through the Mithril wire.

”Don’t stop us, Yohira! If we live after being interrogated by all these adults, it’ll only bring shame!”

 ”Please, Tora-chan, don’t stop them!!”

”Of course I’m going to stop you, idiots!!”

Chaos. Others jumped in to stop us. Baba Entier, the unintentional trigger, half-crying and most desperate.

 ”Now then… Seras?”

 ”…I am sorry.”

After forcing me and Ethelena to desist, Jiji Entier—sitting seiza style3—stood up with his arms crossed and a menacing look. Called her name in a gravelly voice. She feels deeply responsible. In the game, I only saw her cry when captured and violated by enemies in the first installment, when she left because being near him was too painful… and when Flora-sama died in the sequel. Though a shota character once spilled she also wept and clung to him when he was on the verge of death in the happy ending.

”It’s calmed down for now. You can stop.”

”If you were truly calm, your eyes wouldn’t look dead.”

Do my eyes really look that dead?

”Don’t try to die just because you heard some shouting. Second time already.”

”…Who couldn’t handle watching my and Ethelena’s tryst?”

”Oh, so you’re looking for a war?”

I offered a light counter-attack. He replied with a dead-eyed stare. My patience really is wearing thin.

”Master, you’re likely hungry. That’s why your thoughts go dark. Here, say ‘aah’.”

Ichika picked up a piece of tamagoyaki4 and held it out. I caught the scent—realized I was starving. Took the tamagoyaki into my mouth. Finger and all.

 ”Aah!”

 ”Oh, has Ethelena been revived?”

”Isn’t bringing a mind back with light brain-destruction a bit harsh?”

I lightly licked the tip of Ichika’s finger, retrieved the tamagoyaki with my tongue, and chewed. Today is a “sugar day.” Gentle sweetness soaked into my heart. She had seared the surface a little longer for char. Savory aroma. Inside remained half-cooked. Creamy, runny yolk wrapped around my tongue. Layers of rolled egg melted instantly.

Not like high-end restaurant dashi-maki. Homely, child-preferred tamagoyaki. Though I don’t think I could mimic the precision.

 ”Delicious as ever.”

I looked at Ichika with a natural smile. She licked the saliva-covered finger I had just released. I froze, smile still plastered on my face. Surely this could be forgiven.

 ”Likewise, my pleasure, Master-degozaru.”

A thin bridge of saliva connected her lips to her finger. A lewd sight for morning. Though I was hardly one to talk.

(…How long will you stay frozen? Breakfast is getting cold. Please hurry and take your seat.)

’Chef’s’ telepathic warning. A distinctly foul mood. I took my seat at the table under the collective glare of everyone present.

”Wonderful! The balance of the toast sandwich, salmon, lettuce, and tomato is top-tier! The dance of scents from wine vinegar, tomato acidity, and salmon saltiness draws out the lettuce’s sweetness and creates harmony! And this corn potage!! She brought out the corn’s sweetness to its limit, added milk so it’s not too heavy, achieved a mellow mouthfeel! The flavors elevate each other alongside the toast sandwich—pure bliss!!”

”…Tatara-chan, is this person really a guard for the Emperor of Hizuru?”

”I’ve never seen her work. That’s what I heard from Torakuma House.”

(Tatara-san, you’d be more convinced if people called her a gourmet, not a guard.)

I confirmed to a skeptical Baba Entier, who was questioning Hinagiku-san’s food report. She does have genuine ability—I’ve seen her coach The Moron in swordsmanship and deal with those annoying bird-things—but the impression of her constantly eating is stronger. Even the ‘Chef’ sees her as a gourmet more than a guard.

The corn potage Hinagiku-san praised was made by the ‘Chef’ from store-bought instant soup. But she had added her own spin, elevating it to another dimension entirely. Incomprehensible.

 ”Tatara. Plans for today?”

Amid the slow pace of the meal, Jiji Entier dropped that question.

”Heading to the Workshop to make diveGolems.”

”Those little kids that scurry about? More?”

”Yes. Thinking of adding about 300 more.”

Jiji and Baba Entier looked back, dumbfounded. Those who knew I’d crafted 100 Golems from the start just accepted it as normal.

That only made the Entiers more flabbergasted. But Jiji Entier has already labeled me “Tatara-ing.” Not going to worry about it. Definitely not worried.

”What do you intend with that many…”

”To restore one sector in a single day. Would need at least this many.”

”So you increase Golem count by hundreds? Is this ‘Tatara-ing’?”

Baba Entier officially diagnosed me. She doesn’t doubt I’m capable.

”Right, Tatara. Apologies, but I need your bird-type Golem to deliver a letter.”

 ”To my Cipher?”

Felt doubt at his request. Who’s the letter for?

”The city’s Mayor. Apologies, but I’ll return to the Imperial capital via the teleportation gate in the garden.”

 ”Understood. Rather sudden.”

 ”Well. Urgent business.”

Could this be related to my request? Two days left until the City Festival. I asked for a skilled guard for the Anonymous royal coming to inspect. Securing permission and completing preparations in a single day would be nearly impossible.

 ”Understood… wait, huh?”

I went to ask Cipher—but it wasn’t on its usual perch. Hadn’t returned since the delivery to the Scientia residence last night?

 ”What’s wrong?”

”No. Cipher hasn’t returned since it went to deliver something yesterday.”

I answered the Part-Time Leader while focusing intent toward Cipher. No ‘Telepathy,’ but since it was my Golem, I had a connection. Commanded it to return.

Three minutes later, Cipher broke through the Barrier and returned. Decelerated and dove straight into my chest. For a moment, I mistook it for an overgrown dog rather than a bird.

”Sorry to ask. Need you to deliver this letter to the City Mayor.”

I stroked its neck. Felt a distinctly despondent atmosphere. You guys are Golems, right?

Cipher snapped out of it with a cry, then moved its head left and right, searching for the letter. I hadn’t handed it over yet.

”Mm, sorry. Bird-type Golem… Cipher was the name?”

Jiji Entier approached, apologized, and handed over a single letter sealed with wax. Had he prepared it beforehand, or written it just now?

”Transport this to the city’s leader. Can you do it?”

Phrased as a request, but it carried the weight of a demand—essentially an imperial order. There was no right of refusal. Cipher let out a high-pitched cry, grabbed the letter, and flew off. Taking orders from someone other than me?

”That’s settled. Now, about the teleportation gate.”

”Ah, this is custom-made. Could I get the destination coordinates?”

I stopped him as he headed toward the gate and asked for the coordinates. He regarded me with a suspicious look.

”Only intended it for contact with Torakuma House. Unlike a typical gate, I applied a ‘Special Ability Rock’ to the input.”

 ”For what purpose?”

”Home invaders. Or if this house were ever occupied.”

Added this after Dahlia bypassed the gate through external interference. Worried the gate could be occupied, connected to unregistered locations, used to invite hostile forces. Might not mean much against an Automaton Maiden, but difficult for anyone not a Crafter on my level to break this ‘Rock.’

It required resolving a 14,000-digit mathematical formula that changed randomly every second to interfere with the Spell Formula and input the correct passcode. My improved status made the calculation speed feasible. Might remake it in hexadecimal later.

”I’ve lifted the ‘Rock.’ Please input the coordinates. Don’t worry—deletes itself after one use.”

”Why is your safety awareness so high?”

”Crafter from Whirlwind alliance. Sensitive to negligence damages.”

”…Seem quite insensitive to other people’s stomachaches.”

In the distance, I could feel the City Mayor and Calmys-san nodding along with his retort. Wait—others nodding too?

Jiji Entier didn’t input the coordinates. Handed me a piece of paper with them written.

 ”No, what are you…”

”No way someone who isn’t a Crafter like me could input coordinates. Also, keep those coordinates permanently registered. Giving you permission to use it as an emergency escape route.”

 ”Insane! What are you saying!?”

”Oh, come on. Not fair, Tatara-chan!”

”Fair!? How is a regular citizen supposed to teleport into the Anonymous royal’s location and have it be ‘fair’!?”

”Well, I was thinking my daughter or granddaughter would eventually…”

 ”That’s still a thing!?”

A verbal barrage from both Baba Entier and Jiji Entier left my arguments in tatters. But I couldn’t dwell on it—the party members were eyeing Jiji Entier with mounting suspicion.

 ”…Tatara. What does this mean?”

Ethelena voiced the question. First to step up as our representative.

”Simply put, he’s asking me to accept a noble’s title and bind myself to the country.”

”Given your circumstances, it’s not a bad deal. A princess from Torakuma House—the high nobles of Hizuru—is going to marry into your life. You need status, even if it’s only a one-generation noble title.” Jiji Entier5 laid out an irrefutable point. The Part-Time Leader and Mother-in-Law nodded.

”Besides, as a noble, taking concubines to ensure your lineage continues is legal. Your party members are basically your wives already.”

 ”Ugh… throwing truths at me…”

Ethelena had sworn to spend her life with me, even if it was short. Yohira, Tatia, and Ichika all said they were happy by my side. Legitimizing concubines as a noble privilege meant no one could point fingers. It would be for the best.

If I became a noble, I’d be assigned territory. Zero confidence and zero experience. I’d played games like that, sure—but in reality? I’d refuse without a second thought.

”Ho, be an adult and become a noble… then you can come visit the Imperial capital whenever!!”

”The objective is Aarem battle, isn’t it!?”

”Obviously! If you want, I’ll bring Nobutsuna-dono along too. We can all have fun!”

”Putting way too much effort into this!”

At mention of ‘all having fun,’ the Part-Time Leader looked eager. Mother-in-Law drew a wry smile. Don’t tell me he’s planning to designate his son as heir and go into comfortable retirement?

 Yohira voiced the doubt.

”Hey, Tatara. I can tell he holds considerable power. But haven’t you told them about your lifespan?”

 ”…What?”

Jiji Entier’s pleasant expression shifted to something sharp. Yohira looked bitter—she’d let a careless remark slip. Not her fault. My fault for staying silent.

I sighed and beckoned the Part-time leader closer. Placed my hand on her bewildered head, patted it. Turned back to Jiji Entier. The ‘Chef’ also came to stand on my other side. Silently offered up her head.

Jiji Entier stared at the scene as though it defied comprehension.

”The one who brought this up was the older sister of these two. The person Kalan-sama met first.”

”…Why are you patting both their heads while trying to have a serious conversation?”

I ignored his comment. The Part-Time Leader and the others already knew what I was about to say. I hadn’t told the City Mayor yet—worried it might give her an ulcer.

”My explanation was that the things I create are too heterodox. Too much impact on this world.”

”I see. How long will you keep petting their heads?”

”Because of the influence of the things I’d created, my soul exceeded my body’s capacity. At this rate, I’d die around forty.”

Jiji Entier seemed convinced. Still focused on me patting heads. I didn’t want to attract ‘hate’ by revealing what the ‘Archangel’ told me about my death. Besides, explaining that wouldn’t convince anyone. And whenever I try to stop, the ‘Chef’ sulks and rubs her head against my hand while Ethelena looks on with a slightly displeased expression. Might be in danger tonight.

 ”Die? Certain?” Baba Entier asked.

”The person who informed me was the very source of the Voice of Heaven. There’s no mistake.”

She wore a pained expression. Coming from the World Laws themselves—she likely couldn’t deny it. My credibility was reinforced by the mere presence of these two.

”Well, regarding development, still the possibility that if I create new technology now, the world itself will eject me.”

”You carry a bit too much trouble with ya.”

Even world-exile earned a voice of disbelief. Close to solving that part.

”Wait. You’ll be ‘ejected’ by the world. But isn’t that active defense mantle new technology?”

”No. Within scope of existing technology. Based on reinforced Mithril Artificial Muscle and its control mechanism.”

 ”Isn’t that judgment call loose…?”

His warning left me speechless. A man who had watched countless others disappear due to racial differences, yet claimed he never grew accustomed to it. Did this reaction mean I was now counted among those he’d lose?

”And so, surrounded by long-lived races. Will you not perform further Existence Sublimation?”

 ”Er, that is…”

 ”You don’t intend to.”

Why does he see right through me?

”I thought I’d understood you in these last two days. Never imagined you were carrying such a bomb.”

Watching him sigh made me anxious.

”Tatara-chan. Since you became partners, you share Ethelena-chan’s lifespan?” Baba Entier asked gently.

 ”That is… yes.”

Ethelena told me before. We share half of her lifespan.

”Originally, we Succubi live for a thousand years. Sharing that with you, Tatara-chan, we should have been able to be together for five hundred years. Isn’t it cruel to throw that away because of your selfishness?”

I’d thought about that too. Knew dragging her down with my short lifespan was wrong. But we’d already crossed that threshold.

”…I decided being with Tatara is enough for me.”

Ethelena said quietly to Baba Entier. Seeing her face, Baba Entier widened her eyes.

”It’s true I may not spend a hundred years with Tatara. I might see our first child reach adulthood, but not the second or third. Even so, I can die with him. Might be insincerity towards our children… but it’s certain I will die alongside Tatara.”

 ”…Isn’t it… painful?”

”I won’t know until the time comes.”

 ”…I see.”

Baba Entier wore a tearful expression. I hugged her tightly.

Perhaps even Ethelena hadn’t fully accepted that she would die alongside me. Yet she intended to follow through on my selfishness. Was it because of the regrets from that time?

”…Tatara. I have a feeling that even if I say anything, it won’t get through.”

Jiji Entier turned his gaze toward me and began to choose his words carefully.

”Even if I issued an imperial decree ordering Existence Sublimation, you wouldn’t listen. If you received such an oracle from the world itself, you still wouldn’t.”

 ”…Are you saying that much?”

”You’re stubborn. Once you’ve decided, you follow through. I have no intention of asking what triggered your decision not to extend your life. But if anyone can change that, it’s only one person.”

He stared at Ethelena. Convinced only she can change me.

”Only love can change you. Just as one person’s love changed me.”

The prophetic remark pierced deep into my heart.

* * *

After the commotion, Jiji Entier used the teleportation gate in the garden to head home. Yes—only Jiji Entier. Baba Entier stayed.

 ”Umm…”

”What are your plans today, Ethelena-chan?”

”Err… was thinking of going exploration to raise my level.”

”In that case, I’ll go with you!”

Ethelena was flustered under her intensity. Yohira and Tatia tried to help. Why had Jiji Entier left this person behind?

”To enter the dungeon, we need an identification card and permit…”

 ”Fine! Look!”

Baba Entier pulled out an identification card that shone with dangerous light, along with a hastily prepared permit—from her Inventory. I bet the City Mayor had made that through a stomachache yesterday.

”Ah… take that person. Strong enough to single-handedly defeat the 70th floor boss. Reliable.”

”…This lady is really that strong?” Yohira asked.

”Even at a glance, she’s stronger than the Part-Time Leader.”

Her simple sword skills were far beyond the Blood Emperor’s. Baba Entier’s true nature is a magic swordswoman. Masters dark-attribute magic alongside Sex Sorcery. Primary weapon a segmented sword. Combat style tricky. Used illusory techniques applying Sex Sorcery. Good opportunity for her to teach Ethelena Succubus-specific combat methods.

If she could use dark-attribute magic, she’d be capable even against that shitty 50th floor boss. Should ask her to cooperate with Ethelena’s 70th floor capture?

Sending her into the dungeon in that soldier’s outfit with face exposed would be problematic.

 ”Seras-sama.”

 ”Oh, what is it, Tatara-chan?”

”Your current outfit is problematic. Let’s make replacement armor.”

Baba Entier blinked, then nodded. Ethelena sighed in relief as the woman with no concept of personal space moved away.

Baba Entier was a magic swordswoman with an ultra-offensive combat style. Her armor was limited to Light Armor, her equipment built around evasion—Full Armor excluded from her repertoire. Being a woman, there was a high possibility she could equip Skebail Armor.

Her original weapon was a rare piece—an articulated sword or even a greatsword. She currently carried a basic one-handed sword to disguise herself as a regular soldier. Far from her full potential without the real thing.

”You made armor for Kalan. Can you make some for me too?”

”Even if you could use it, the performance would only suit this city. It wouldn’t reach the quality of your original equipment.”

Her original equipment—I didn’t know the exact extent. But there was no way an Anonymous royal’s equipment fell short of top-tier. If something happened to her, this Whirlwind alliance would be in danger. Can’t rest easy unless she wears equipment with elemental absorption. Worst case, this city could be erased from the map by Jiji Entier’s hand.

”Tatara. This person’s equipment—what are you doing?”

”Breastplate, armguard, leg armor. Three pieces. Use King’s Cores for elemental absorption.”

”…Does she hold some outrageous position?”

 ”She is an important person.”

Preparing equipment with elemental absorption—something that shouldn’t be craftable by human hands. Yohira guessed a little. If I said the person who left was the Former Emperor and the one in front is his Queen, absolute chaos. Staying silent.

 ”Um, Tatara-dono…”

 ”What is it, Tatia?”

”The man from earlier and this woman… were the previous Emperor and his Queen?”

”It’s better not to notice. Your stomach will be destroyed.”

 ”That is already an affirmation.”

Tatia recoiled. If she realized she’d been taught sword practice by the Emperor before breakfast, she might faint.

”In that case, let’s make Seras-sama’s equipment.”

 ”Please!”

I hated being alone in the workshop with two people. Hesitated to let others see this.

I entered the workshop and began measurement. I’d underestimated Succubi other than Ethelena. Baba Entier—who had predicted this from watching me measure Jiji Entier—stood before me in all her majestic nudity.

Yeah. Was my fate sealed here?

 ==========

 [Bonus]

Late at night, on the balcony of a mansion in the nobles’ district of Whirlwind Alliance, a girl looked up at the starry sky. Her name was Kalmia Scientia, in her late teens, wrapped in thin clothes that could not fully hide her maturing figure.

She had just finished her bath and had come out to cool down when she heard wingbeats in the distance. “Huh?” The sound approached with tremendous force. Then the source appeared before her eyes.

Silver. A silver bird of prey, reflecting the moonlight.

Normally, anyone would brace themselves. But Kalmia could not feel real fear — only a vague sense of wonder.

Soon the silver bird arrived in front of her, flapped its wings once, and perched on the balcony railing. Its shape was like an eagle. Kalmia was captivated by its beautiful, huge body. Then she noticed the cheap cloth bundle held in its beak. It felt out of place.

 ”…Are you Tatara-kun’s Golem (a magical automaton)?”

The white-silver bird-type Golem answered with a single cry. Kalmia wondered how it could cry while holding the bundle, but she accepted the gift from Tatara Julon anyway.

 ”Thank you, okay?”

When she gently stroked its neck, the bird-type Golem leaned against her comfortably. Its body was large and silver and beautiful — like a sacred bird. But its friendly behavior warmed her heart. She pulled its head toward her chest without thinking. The bird-type Golem did not seem to mind. Was it because, like its creator, it loved big breasts? Or did it simply enjoy being touched? The exact reason was unknown — and really, no one would be happy even if they found out.

For a while, the bird-type Golem — Cipher — moved its body away as if remembering its purpose. It offered the bundle in its beak.

Kalmia understood. She took the bundle. It felt surprisingly light.

”Huh, this is a knife, right?”

Its shape felt like one through the cloth. But when she asked Cipher, it did not feel like a knife. Naturally, Cipher could not speak human language. Kalmia could not tell if its cry was a yes or a no. She decided it was a yes and untied the bundle.

Inside were three short katanas (Hizuru-style swords) in white scabbards.

”A wooden scabbard and hilt, barely worked on — how unusual.”

She said that to Cipher, then picked up one sword. She placed the other two nearby and drew the blade.

Under the moonlight, a white blade appeared — a serene atmosphere. The polished katana blade reflected the night sky and the moonlight.

 ”…Beautiful,” Kalmia whispered, dazed.

She had thought she understood Tatara’s skill from the sword she had requested before. But this short katana was incomparable to that. For the first time, Kalmia felt she understood what it meant for him to use his full skill.

”This is why Tatara-kun will be the next Chief Crafter (master of magical tools), isn’t it?”

What Kalmia misunderstood was that Tatara had only developed this sword-making technique *after* being asked to become Chief Crafter. But it was certain that the current Chief Crafter — the City Mayor — could not copy this technique.

The moment Cipher saw that the gift had been received, it spread its wings to fly away. Kalmia grabbed its leg on impulse.

 ”Ah.”

At the sound of Kalmia’s surprised voice — as if she could not believe her own actions — Cipher stopped and stared at her. After a brief moment of confusion under that gaze, Kalmia spoke.

”…Um, I’m all alone in this mansion right now. I’m lonely. I want you to stay by my side a little longer.”

That was the small anxiety Kalmia had carried since childhood — toward Tatara’s parents, who often left home for research. She had no self-awareness of it, but Kalmia had immense talent for swords and magic. Yet her gentle temperament had never let her use it well. She could kill suspicious people or burglars in seconds if she wanted, but she almost never could.

If a girl like that had been left alone in a big mansion since she was young, she would naturally grow up lonely — and escape into her studies to push the anxiety away.

The person who had cleared away that loneliness and anxiety in one go — her childhood friend and love interest — had lost some memory and personality due to various circumstances. Recently, she had begun to get closer to that lady-killer. But there was still not enough time. To turn her temperament from its current minus state to a plus state, there were only two choices: spend more time with him, or have a physical relationship.

Whether Cipher knew Kalmia’s temperament or not, it tried to contact Tatara through telepathy. But Tatara had drunk too much with two important people and gone to sleep early. He did not respond.

Cipher was confused by the lack of answer. But it had inherited its master’s nature: it could not leave the girl in front of it alone. So it accepted.

 ”Is it okay?”

Cipher answered with a cry, then landed on Kalmia’s shoulder — careful not to dig in its claws — and rubbed its body against her cheek.

 ”Thank you.”

Kalmia returned her thanks and stroked Cipher’s body.

In the end, the Scientia couple did not return until dawn. Kalmia fell asleep while Cipher watched over her.

Incidentally, perhaps because of Cipher’s influence, she dreamed of a newlywed life with her love interest. That is just a side note.

However, the morning is disrupted when Baba Entier reveals that their private activities in the bath were clearly audible from the garden, leaving Tatara in a state of profound social mortification.

The conversation takes a somber turn when Tatara reveals the truth about his shortened lifespan and the limitations imposed by the world. Despite the heavy subject matter, Baba Entier decides to join the party for an exploration excursion, leaving the outcome of Tatara’s development and relationship dynamics uncertain.

Tatara is in the process of crafting specialized equipment for high-profile figures, including the Former Emperor’s Queen, Baba Entier. Meanwhile, in the Nobles district, Kalmia Scientia finds solace from her lonely nights when a silver Golem bird, Cipher, delivers mysterious short Katanas crafted by Tatara.
