”Hmm? What’s this about a ‘minion’?” Kushe asked, looking at me with a completely blank expression. “Don’t tell me you actually think you’re some kind of Succubus master…”
”… Please don’t hit me with such a deadpan reality check, it’s just embarrassing,” I muttered, my face burning.
It was a sudden battle against a Succubus who had appeared out of nowhere. In response to the over-the-top lines I had said just to get into the zone, Coalmine’s top Court Mage, Kushe, gave a very dry retort.1
I really shouldn’t have said that. But even as I stood there feeling very embarrassed, the enemy wasn’t about to give us a break. The Succubus charged forward again, letting out a strange, loud “Kishaaa!”—and this time it wasn’t a funny comeback,2 but a real, physical charge. In response, I raised one of my final ultimate weapons, the Type-2 Multi-Headed Mole Whip, which was as strong as “Slime-Pal”.
”Take this…!” I yelled, swinging the weapon.
This “Mole Whip” had also been heavily changed, much like “Slime-Pal”. Specifically, by coating the whip with a thin layer of “Slime-Pal’s” split bodies, it would automatically target a woman’s sensitive spots even if I just swung it without any thought. This was the only reason it had changed from the “Type-0” into the “Type-2”. Well, I say automatic, but it’s more like slime-powered movement.3
”… Wha-!? This guy…!” the Succubus gasped.
Moving with the smooth movement of a very skilled fighter, the Succubus barely avoided the main path of the “Mole Whip”. However, the split branches—the very reason it was named “Multi-Headed”—spread to the sides, striking right where she had dodged. A direct hit. ”Just so you know, the battle isn’t entirely over yet, okay?” I reminded her.
”Hmm, well, I guess that’s true,” Kushe conceded, looking at the writhing monster. “So? Can you actually deal the finishing blow to this thing when it looks exactly like a beautiful woman? If you’re feeling hesitant, I don’t mind burning it to absolute ashes for you, though…”
”If you’re asking whether I can do it or not, it’s a total piece of cake. To me, it feels no different from back during my adventurer days when I used to hunt standard wild slimes.”

Kushe looked up at my face with worry, but it really was not a problem for me. Also, “Slime-Pal” suddenly gave off a sharp “Ehh!?” feeling in response to the phrase “used to hunt slimes,”6 but that was not a problem either.
In the end, I could only see this Succubus as just a “monster.” As someone who knew the fantasy-style, unusual Succubi of my previous world,7 it felt a little disappointing, but since these things could only survive by hunting human lives, it was probably for the best this way.
