Chapter 579 Family Stories ①
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
While I was advancing trade with the Southern Continent, developing products using Rubber, and dealing with the succubus incident, my children continued to grow steadily.
My pregnant love-slave Lily, Love Mage Satsuki, my beloved Saint Sister Amelia, and the Ancient Elf Carley who had returned to the Wielope Empire all saw their bellies gradually swelling.
Fortunately, everyone was healthy and living well, free from serious illness. Of course, the pregnant wives suffered from morning sickness from time to time, but my care-taking skills covered that. Still, when people from such diverse backgrounds come together as a family, there are bound to be complications. For example, something like this happened.
”Hup, toss, whee!”
”Kya kya! Mama, more!”
”WHOA! What are you doing?! What are you doing, Lily?!”
”What do you mean? I am just playing toss-the-baby,” Lily said, tilting her head.
”How is that tossing the baby?! You are juggling her! Well, okay, she is high up, I will give you that!”
It happened one afternoon. When I returned home, there was Lily, juggling our one-year-old daughter Momo in the garden. My pregnant wife was casually tossing our beloved daughter into the air, completely unbothered. The shock and the blood draining from my face. I trust you can imagine how I felt.
”That is dangerous! What if you drop her?! And you are pregnant! Do not be doing strenuous exercise!”
”This is nothing. I am fine, and so is Momo. It is light play. It is normal in the Pink Clan village. Do you not do it here?” Lily asked.
”Of course we do not!”
”I see… But then, how do you practice maintaining posture in the air?”
”Wha…?”
”And how to land properly. We need to start training early, or she will fall behind in aerial combat.”
It was a culture shock. Lily had stopped hiding her origins in the Pink Clan village long ago, but I could not remember ever being this startled.
According to her, children in the village begin warrior training from infancy. Not that babies do drills, but they absorb various techniques through play like this.
I had never even considered such a thing. I talked about child-rearing as I understood it and reconciled our perspectives. I asked the other wives inside the mansion for their input too.
As it turned out, I was the minority. Tania the love-elf had an elven method for enhancing Mana Circuits during development. Laika the love-dog had a dog beastman method for boosting physical abilities.
Even Satsuki, who should have been a normal human, had a training regime passed down through mage families. And Amelia’s convent apparently practiced developmental methods tailored to each infant’s aptitudes.
This was a serious blind spot on my part. I thought I had fully adapted to this world, but there were pitfalls like this everywhere. My children were all exceptionally gifted, bound to become lights that would illuminate the world. Naturally, they needed an education to match. But still…
”No wonder your peek-a-boo always seemed so soft, Master,” Lily remarked.
”Yeah, honestly. I saw you making that dumb face and thought you were trying to make them laugh. Listen, Kento. Real peek-a-boo goes like this. Peek-a… BOO! RAAAAAWR!!!”
”Kya kya kya!”
Honestly, watching Laika roar at the children nearly made me piss myself. According to her, this so-called real peek-a-boo was a game designed to get children used to loud noises, killing intent, fear, and tension.
Well, if they were piling up training like this from infancy, no wonder they could crush dragons by the time they were grown. I decided I had to master this real peek-a-boo too.
”Like this? Peek-a… BOO! GRUUUHH!”
”Wrong, wrong. It is RAAAAAWR! Not gruuuh! RAAAAAWR!”
”Mnh, this is tricky… GRUUUHH!”
”Master, it is RAAAAAWR! RAAAAAWR!”
”Grr… GRUUUHH!”
”Hmm, still pretty pathetic, huh?”
”Ngh… nnngh!”
It was hopeless. I had no illusions about my own weakness, but not even being able to entertain my own children… I could make them laugh in a different way, sure, but this was training, not comedy. That was when Tania and Satsuki came to my rescue.
”Well, everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. In elven child-rearing, we emphasise magic over physical ability. Perhaps you should focus on that,” Tania said.
”Yeah, yeah! We never did this kind of peek-a-boo at home either. Instead, look, you get them used to magic like this. Peek-a… BOO! BAM!”
”Kya kya kya!”
Satsuki let a concealed Mana Circuit drift through the air, and when the children’s eyes followed it, she made it explode. A training exercise for detecting Mana Circuits and getting familiar with various forms of magic. This was something even I could manage.
”Like this? Peek-a-boo… boom?”
”Hmm, a bit weak on the power, but it should be good for training Mana Circuit detection. Try showing them different types of magic besides explosions. They will love it.”
”…Right.”
I had put in quite a bit of effort, but switching between different types of magic was a bit difficult for me. Satsuki said it so casually, though. In any case, I managed to get the hang of it, and from then on, my version of peek-a-boo settled into this pattern.
And it turned out not to be half bad. Training the children also became training for me. Hiding Mana Circuits and wielding different types of magic became significantly easier than before. With the caveat that this was good by my standards, of course.
And apparently, that intuition was correct. Once children grew a bit older, they would start playing these same games with the younger infants. That was how combat techniques were passed down in this world. Practical and fascinating.
”Toss-the-baby is not very good training with just Momo for now, but ideally, you gather three or five babies and juggle them at once. Masters can handle ten or twenty. You have many children, Master, so I will show you one day,” Lily said.
”…Out of curiosity, were you good at it?”
”I was decent. I used to toss Marc and Flea when they were small.”
Marc was my brother-in-law, Count Martin Popol. Flea was my sister-in-law, Flearis. By the time Lily was adopted into their household, they should have already been past infancy. So she was still tossing them then… No wonder they were so attached to her. That extreme toss-the-baby must have been a surprisingly fun game that continued throughout childhood.
”By the way, there are advanced versions too. They are called human catch and human dodgeball…”
”Yeah, that is definitely not okay!”
I shouted at the absurd extreme sport names that had emerged, while Lily tilted her head in confusion. Eventually, when Momo was a bit older, the sport would be put into practice. Later, it would become a favorite game among the children. But that is a story for another time.

Summary:
Kento discovers that his wives have vastly different approaches to child-rearing, each rooted in their racial and cultural backgrounds. Lily treats baby juggling as standard practice for aerial combat training, Laika’s peek-a-boo involves roaring to condition infants against fear, and Satsuki uses controlled mana explosions to train magic detection. Tania gently redirects Kento toward elven methods emphasizing magical development, revealing a world where infant play doubles as survival training. The chapter ends with Lily casually mentioning extreme variants like human catch and human dodgeball, hinting at even more outrageous traditions to come.

Notes:
• Satsuki – A long-haired, robed court mage and former top Academy student, Miranda’s granddaughter lives alone as Kento’s prickly companion. Now a Harvest worker on paternity leave as the Master’s Love-Mage at the Ddo-Buddy Palace, she tutors the modest protagonist, assists in prototype design, and is friends with pregnant Amelia, while observing basement lab progress and revealing a client’s identity.
• Amelia – A voluptuous, light-blue-haired Sister of the Canarias convent who runs soup kitchens. Still shy and blushing, she is pregnant and wears Kento’s ring—a marriage sparking intense ecclesiastical debate. Devoted as ever, this figure from the protagonist’s past uniquely visited him for a sacred conception, remaining someone he could intimately bed despite her saintly nature.
• Carley – Ancient Elf Haha-sama is the youthful, flat-chested, pregnant Captain of the Wielope Empire and the narrator’s beloved wife. A pragmatic matriarch and companion to Harvest, she oversees palace assassins and royals like Dee-bou and Gustav. Currently kept out of political discussions with the prince, she uses her magic resistance, immense stamina, and Forest Blessings to steer diplomacy.
• Lily – Jin’s pink-haired, blue-eyed experiment slave and wife, pregnant with her second child. A Harvest shop slave, primary test subject, and secret magic user, she serves as Kento’s love-slave (evoking comparisons to Nada’s behavior). Energetic and expressive with V-signs, she watches repairs, tends the Dildo-Buddy Mansion garden, and informs the protagonist—who calls her a wanton—on domestic and political matters.
• Momo – Pink-haired toddler, daughter of Jin and Lily, inherits her father’s ear and eyebrow shape; exceptionally cute, energetic, and affectionate. At one year old, she can stand, babbles simple words, and delights in learning to walk through the garden. As the shopkeeper’s eldest child and one of the protagonist’s offspring, she was celebrated with a cherished birth gift a year ago.
• Laika – A love‑dog beast‑man with shaggy brown fur, amber eyes and a scar across his snout, clad in a weathered leather coat. Sharp, wild instincts define her; she’s the younger sister of Tania, an A‑rank adventurer and devoted mother who calls her companion ‘Dildo‑Buddy’ George.
• Tania – An elven love‑elf, older sister of Laika and mother of son Wakaba, rejects her race’s low‑desire image with passionate, easily embarrassed charm. She wears light armor over a simple tunic and short pants, exuding grace. Senior‑junior to Raika, she’s a seasoned Harvest shopper buying pleasure items while keeping a dignified façade, and also helps tend the garden, selecting medicinal herbs and emergency rations.
• Master – Owner of an isekai magic shop specializing in adult goods. Currently performing a ‘resurrection’ on a damaged item.
• Kento – Lord Harvest, a reclusive, dark-haired Northern Continent viscount and young isekai inventor, resembles a salaryman. Bound to the Queen, he runs a magic shop and tavern, crafting adult goods; though weak to erotic things, his gear makes him immune to Succubus charms. He created the Ddo-Buddy and Slime-Pal weapons. Analytical yet easily swayed, he is pampered by subordinates, shares a quiet bond with Amelia, corresponds with Meryamisha, and is pragmatic with guests like Nada.
• Flearis – A pale, pink-haired woman serving as a diplomatic envoy, guard, shopkeeper, and liaison with the Coalmine Kingdom. She belongs to a covert unit and is the protagonist’s relative—specifically Lily’s sister or Martin’s younger foster sister. She displays a cold, almost vengeful pragmatism, particularly when reporting her sister’s words to Martin.
• Martin – Lily’s non-blood-related younger brother. Considered the strongest candidate to succeed the Popol family due to his lineage and manifested ‘power. He has pink hair.
