Zero-Mana-Boss 76

Chapter 76 A Brief Peace and the Demon’s Proposal

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

The fierce battle at the [Abyss Coliseum] was over. I’d been passing my days in relative peace since then.

The Beastfolk Princess, Lumiá Sacred—whom I’d won as the tournament’s grand prize—now lived here at the Grimlock family estate.

Considering her safety, either this heavily guarded mansion or my personal theater would be the ideal place for her.

Lumiá’s beast form was an adorable lion cub with snow-white fur, about the size of a small dog. Since arriving at the estate, she’d been looked after carefully by Mina—my Dedicated Slave—alongside Kuuko, another beastfolk girl who lived here.

Even now, the three of them were playing together in the mansion’s large courtyard, laughing and tumbling about.

The sunlight streamed down, glittering off their brown braids and black-and-white fur. A girl and a little animal, playing together.

Watching them… it was a peace that calmed the heart.

I sank deep into a chair on the terrace, glass in hand, gazing absently at the scene. The chilled drink in my glass caught the sunlight, glowing a vivid ruby red.

Beside me, my faithful Dedicated Slave and Head Maid, Lilia, stood silently at attention. Her black maid uniform didn’t move in the faint breeze—she might as well have been a painting.

”Right… first things first, I should send her back to the Beastfolk Forest. Gently, of course. But the problem is—she’s already my ‘Dedicated Slave.’ …How the hell do I explain that one?”

”An explanation isn’t necessary, Master,” Lilia replied, her tone perfectly serene. “To become your Dedicated Slave is the greatest honor anyone of any station could receive.”

Lilia offered this utterly crazy advice with a perfectly straight face. Her serious gaze made me laugh despite myself. I loved her for saying such things with complete seriousness.

 But unfortunately, that wouldn’t fly.

Taking a foreign princess—a Beastfolk princess, no less—and making her some mysterious, incomprehensible slave, then saying “okay, let’s be friends now”? That was never going to work.

”…Lilia. Come here for a second.”

 ”Yes, Master.”

I slipped an arm around Lilia’s slender waist as she obediently stepped closer, pulling her into a firm embrace. Her warmth radiated through her shirt.

I’d been so busy lately I hadn’t had much time for her. It felt good to hold her soft body again after so long. A faint floral scent rose from her hair, calming my heart.

”Master, this isn’t the bedroom…” Lilia murmured, her voice barely a whisper.

”Heh. This is your punishment for giving me such ridiculous advice.”

I didn’t let go. I enjoyed the warmth of her body.

”…Still. You’re as big as ever, aren’t you.”

”M-Master! Please don’t make comments like that out here!” Lilia squeaked, her cheeks flushing. “It reflects poorly on your dignity! Ah—no, not there—!”

As we traded such playful banter, an interruption came from behind.

”—Xenos-sama. I have brought you a wonderful proposal. A ‘shortcut,’ if you will, to your dominion over this world,” said a quiet, unsettling voice.

A man appeared, silent, dressed in a butler’s suit—

 The teleportation demon, Ashraf.

This guy still appeared right behind me, every single time.

The deep cold of his mana raised goosebumps on my skin, a prickling sensation crawling up my spine. Dressed perfectly in his black suit, he stood with elegant poise, as if he’d been there from the start.

His expression was unreadable—like a mask. Only the pale gold light in his eyes flickered with a strange stillness.

…Whatever. Learn to read the room, will you?

I was just having a good time flirting with Lilia.

I showed none of my annoyance as I addressed the teleportation demon. I had no idea what he was thinking, but I made sure to act like I could see right through him.

 ***

 ”Hmph. Interesting. Go on, Ashraf.”

I kept Lilia in my arms, not even bothering to turn around, and urged him to continue. Truth be told, I had zero interest in whatever Ashraf had to say.

But as a “big shot,” I had to keep a calm appearance at all times.

This demon couldn’t be trusted, after all.

”Yes. Then, if I may be so bold…” Ashraf began, his tone smooth. “How would you feel about bringing the Demon Realm’s princess—and its ruler, Lady Lucifiel—under Xenos-sama’s dominion?”

 —Excuse me?

Demon Realm princess? Under my dominion?

Ashraf had just suggested something insane, as casually as if he were proposing today’s menu.

”Xenos-sama already holds this country’s princess, the Empire’s princess, the Elf princess, and even the Beastfolk princess in your collection,” he continued, his voice carrying a hint of amusement. “I thought adding the Demon Realm’s princess would make a fine addition to that illustrious roster.”

He’d just dumped a huge conversation on me.

 And—”Lucifiel,” the Demon Realm’s princess?

 I didn’t know that name.

It wasn’t a character from the game I knew.

The Demon Realm’s ruler was supposed to be Orcus—the true final boss.

 …Everything was unclear.

New lore I didn’t know. Or maybe—a scenario that had changed because of my actions.

 Either way.

In this situation, there was only one answer.

The choices had already been decided from the start.

”Heh. That’s interesting… Sounds good to me.”

As a big shot, I decided to play along.

 Demon Realm princess, huh.

 Not bad.

But as my careless answer left my mouth—

I felt Lilia’s heartbeat quicken just slightly.

 —

 Summary:

After winning the Abyss Coliseum tournament, Xenos enjoys a peaceful domestic scene at his estate with his growing household of beastfolk and servants, flirting with his Head Maid Lilia in the garden. Their intimate moment is shattered by the sudden appearance of the teleportation demon Ashraf, who proposes adding the Demon Realm’s princess Lucifiel to Xenos’s collection of royal conquests. The proposal contradicts Xenos’s game knowledge, leaving him unsettled, while Lilia’s jealous reaction in his arms reveals her unspoken fears about his expanding harem.

 —

 Trivia:

The protagonist is reincarnated as a “hated villain” with no magic in the original game.

His power comes from knowing the game script and using mind control.

Lucifiel is NOT a character from the original game—this is new, unknown lore.

Orcus is the true final boss of the original game, not Lucifiel.

The protagonist has already collected four princesses: this country’s princess, the Empire’s princess, the Elf princess, and the Beastfolk princess.

Lumiá Sacred transforms into a white lion cub roughly the size of a small dog.

Ashraf is a teleportation demon who always appears directly behind Xenos.

Lilia’s formal “desuwa” speech contrasts with her physical fluster and jealousy.

The phrase “read the room” corresponds to the Japanese idiom “空気を読め.”

The protagonist is performing a “big shot” persona to maintain authority over untrustworthy demons.

Lilia’s heartbeat quickening is a subtle, unspoken indicator of her jealousy.

The “Dedicated Slave” system is a core mechanic of the protagonist’s power.

Ashraf’s proposal arrives at the worst possible moment, interrupting the flirting scene.

The demon’s mana is described as cold and unsettling, contrasting with Lilia’s warmth.

Lumiá’s safety is a stated concern, justifying her residence at the heavily guarded estate.

The chapter title promises “momentary peace” which is immediately disrupted by Ashraf.

Kuuko and Mina are beastfolk who share care duties for Lumiá.

The protagonist’s personal theater is mentioned as another possible residence for Lumiá.

The protagonist self-deprecatingly notes he has “zero interest” in Ashraf’s proposal.

”The choices had already been decided from the start” references his game-knowledge determinism.
