Chapter 122 Security Features and “Idiot·Scum”
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
The assassin sent by my father.
Someone aiming to eliminate me and seize the position of the Grimlock family heir—
A brat named Akahorus had appeared.
In the reception room, I was unilaterally gathering information from this uninvited visitor.
I see.
I’d heard that in the endless war against the Eastern Empire, the Grimlock family had recently been gaining the upper hand.
Apparently, this idiotic-looking piece of shit in front of me—Akahorus—was the primary reason for that.
No wonder my father was so taken with him.
”Heh-heh~! See? Pretty impressive, right?! I’m different from a useless piece of trash like you, who’s just coastin’ on your parents’ name! Ever since I remembered my past life, I’ve worked my ass off to gain this massive mana pool and multiple mana affinities! And what about you? You don’t work, you just laze around. A dropout who can only drag everyone down! And yet, because you were born into a noble family, you walk around actin’ all high and mighty for no reason! That’s what you are!! Stupid! Stuuupid!”
Normally, I’d have to be careful and coax information out of someone. But this guy just spilled everything on his own.
(…What a reckless fool.)
From what I could tell, this guy—
was a reincarnate who had been born as just a mob character in this game world.
The hard-work cheat type.
And he was aiming to demonstrate his power and rise through the ranks.
If he’d been a decent person, I might have tried friendly communication… but with this guy, I didn’t feel we could understand each other.
Apparently, he’d achieved great success on the battlefield, but his movements were nothing special.
Most likely, he’d simply served as a stationary artillery platform, overwhelming the enemy with his massive mana reserves.
Though he seemed experienced in killing—
his actual combat experience appeared surprisingly shallow.
”Listen up~? The reason I’m gonna kick you out and become the next heir is because I’ve worked harder than you, and I’m stronger! I’m takin’ from weaklings like you because I’m the strong one! You’re losin’ your position and your estate because you’re weak! It’s your fault for not tryin’ hard enough! Frustratin’, ain’t it? But you’re weak, so you can’t do anything about it, can you? From now on, you’ll just have to watch helplessly as I take everything precious from you!”
(I need to get some information before I fight him. I’ll string him along a little longer—)
That was what I was thinking when
Lilia’s tea was apparently ready.
She gracefully served it first to our guest, Akahorus.
And then—
That piece of shit did something utterly unconscionable. Something no noble—no, no human being should ever do.
”…Ah, perfect. First, I’ll take this woman right in front of you, and I’ll make her mine! This is payback for punchin’ me earlier~~!”
With that, the disgusting little brat reached out with his filthy hand and—groped Lilia’s ample chest right through her maid uniform.
…Another reason to kill this “Idiot Scum” had just been added.
I rose to my feet, hand on my sword hilt, ready to slice Akahorus’s arm off.
That was when it happened.
Akahorus’s hand—without any warning—
Exploded, with a dry BANG!
”GyaaAAAAAAHHHHHHH~~!!”
Akahorus shrieked as the lower half of his arm vanished into a red mist in an instant.
Ignoring his obnoxious screaming, I moved toward Lilia.
Splattered blood and flesh stained the white tablecloth, the polished floor, and Lilia’s pristine white apron.
This was completely unexpected.
For me, for the ever-stoic Oscar, and of course, for the victim, Lilia.
”Kyaa!”
She let out a small cry and stepped back.
After a moment’s paralysis, Oscar moved.
A beat after the explosion, he drew the dagger concealed within his coat and lunged for Lilia.
He must have mistakenly thought she’d attacked Akahorus somehow.
The sharp blade aimed straight for her slender neck—
CLAAAANG!!
Sparks flew, bright and blinding.
I’d drawn my own blade, blocking the vicious strike at the last second.
”…What’s the meaning of this, Xenos-sama?”
”I should be askin’ you the same thing, Oscar.”
Even I had no idea what had just happened.
Oscar and I locked eyes at close range.
A silence as if time had stopped.
In that taut atmosphere, the only sound was the grotesque shhh of blood gushing from the stump of Akahorus’s arm.
Akahorus was pressing down on his severed wrist with his intact hand, casting healing magic.
”Ugh, uhh…! I-It hurts~~!”
Gradually, the bleeding stopped, and the gruesome wound began to close.
”Damn it! What the hell is this?! What’s goin’ on?! pant pant Why couldn’t I make her into my Magic Slave?! Did she reflect the mana I forced into her?! This has never happened before…!”
From those words, I deduced—
Akahorus had tried to make Lilia his “Magic Slave,” touching her chest and forcibly injecting his mana.
He had said, “I’ll take this woman and make her mine in front of you.”
And the hand that had touched Lilia’s chest had exploded…
I certainly didn’t remember installing any such dangerous “security function” on Lilia’s chest.
Well, setting that aside…
”Looks like your ‘Idiot Scum’ here blew himself up. Lower your sword, Oscar.”
Oscar cast a cold glance toward Akahorus, then calmly lowered his dagger, offering a perfunctory “…My apologies” before positioning himself behind Akahorus.
It seemed he no longer bothered to hide his hostility toward me.
”Lilia. Are you all right?”
Without taking my eyes off the enemy, I ran my finger lightly over Lilia’s generous chest beside me, checking for any abnormalities.
”Y-Yes. I’m fine, Master… ah♡”
Good.
”Never mind the tea. Get behind me.”
I moved Lilia back.
”Young master. Are you hurt?”
”Uweeehn. Like I’m fine! The end of my arm is completely gone! Healin’ magic can’t regenerate it, and what am I supposed to do now, huh… oh, huh? …Hyaaaaah, what the hell is that!?”
The stump of Akahorus’s lost arm—
Was pulsing, swelling grotesquely like a living creature.
Now what?
The writhing dark-red flesh grew larger, swelling further, and slowly began to take the shape of a human hand.
A truly unsettling phenomenon.
And inside that malformed hand’s palm—
There was a mouth.
”Gyoh-heh-heh-heh. Well well, you got me good. Who’d have thought I’d get hit with a curse reflection from that maid ~~. Surprise, surprise!! So the magical contract on that girl is so strong that even our massive mana reserves couldn’t overwrite it. This is the strongest magical contract I’ve ever seen ~~~~~.”
The mouth in the palm began chattering away on its own.
Akahorus started talking to his own hand.
”Hey~! Don’t come out on your own, I’ve told you that before!”
”Gyoh-heh-heh~.”
I recognized the mana emanating from that thing.
This unpleasant, utterly ominous mana was—
Without a doubt.
It belonged to a Demon Lord.

Summary:
Xenos faces an assassin sent by his father—Akahorus, a reincarnate with massive mana and multiple affinities who openly boasts about his hard work and despises Xenos as a lazy noble. Akahorus attempts to grope Lilia, declaring he’ll make her his Magic Slave by forcibly injecting mana, but his hand explodes from a “security function” on Lilia’s chest—a curse reflection from her powerful magical contract. Oscar, Xenos’s bodyguard, mistakenly attacks Lilia but is stopped by Xenos. Akahorus’s severed hand regenerates into a monstrous form with a mouth, revealing a Demon Lord inhabiting it, who mocks the situation and identifies Lilia’s contract as the strongest ever seen.
—
Trivia:
Xenos is reincarnated as the villain of a game he knows, with no magic of his own but full knowledge of the script.
Akahorus is a “hard-work cheat” reincarnate mob character who earned his power through effort.
Lilia has a magical contract with Xenos that includes a curse reflection on her chest—anyone forcibly injecting mana gets blown up.
The “security function” was not something Xenos consciously installed; it’s an automatic property of the magical contract.
Oscar is fiercely loyal to Xenos but hostile in demeanor; he attacked Lilia thinking she harmed Akahorus.
Akahorus’s severed hand houses a Demon Lord, suggesting Akahorus made a contract with one.
The Demon Lord recognizes Lilia’s contract as the strongest it’s ever seen.
Magic Slave creation requires forcibly injecting mana into a target.
Healing magic cannot regenerate Akahorus’s arm because the curse reflection prevents it.
