Chapter 464 Sports Festival

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

 ”Sona President…”

Not even caring to wonder why everyone was waiting for him, Aki tentatively said: “That is indeed the case. Does the Student Council disagree?”

Club activities all require Student Council approval. Who serves as Buchou is theoretically the club’s internal matter, but it still needs to be reported to the Student Council for approval.

In most cases, as long as it’s reported, the Student Council will agree.

After all, who serves as Buchou is the club’s internal matter; the Student Council shouldn’t interfere.

But Rias and Sona Sitri’s relationship is what it is—she might just deliberately oppose him.

 ”Of course not.”

Sona Sitri’s response was quick and firm, letting Aki breathe a sigh of relief.

He figured as much—Sona Sitri’s personality shouldn’t be childish to that extent.

But the next moment, his headache worsened.

Since it’s not about who becomes Buchou, then it really is that matter after all…

What Sona Sitri said next was exactly as Aki predicted: nothing more than wanting him to also accept the Student Council President position, leading Sona Sitri’s Peerage who hadn’t graduated yet, and continuing to run the Student Council.

One Divine Research Society was already giving Aki a massive headache. Now another Student Council with even more complicated affairs—Aki felt like his head was splitting.

But he couldn’t bring himself to refuse. He was already serving as Buchou of the Divine Research Society; if he now refused to take over the Student Council, anyone could guess what words Sona Sitri would use to squeeze him.

”Fine, I can take it over.”

Aki looked at Shinra Tsubaki, and an idea suddenly struck him.

 ”However, I have a condition.”

 ”What condition?”

”I need to supplement the Student Council’s members, recruit personnel.”

Besides Sona Sitri and Shinra Tsubaki, the Student Council still had several third-year seniors. They would graduate along with Sona Sitri in early March, heading to the university division.

Unlike clubs, losing a few members just means fewer members.

Every missing Student Council member means a shortage of hands for related work.

Aki’s condition was reasonable. Although Sona Sitri didn’t really want unrelated personnel in the Student Council, she ultimately agreed.

”You’re planning to be an absentee landlord, aren’t you.”

Sona Sitri pushed up the red-framed glasses on her straight, elegant nose, seeing through Aki’s plan instantly.

Aki laughed awkwardly, about to play dumb, but before he could spout nonsense, Sona Sitri continued: “Since I’m handing the Student Council to you, you can manage it however you want. I only have one requirement.”

 ”What requirement?” Aki asked curiously.

”Ensure the Student Council continues to operate well, and balance the relationship between the Hidden Academy and ordinary students.”

 ”Rest assured, Sona President.”

Aki knew well enough. Sona Sitri’s dream seemed to be establishing an environment of “equality for all beings.”

She accepted Rias’s invitation to come to Kuoh Academy and even served as Student Council President as groundwork for that—an experiment, so to speak.

”I don’t understand management, and I don’t want to manage. But since I’m taking it on, I’ll do it well in my own way.”

Actually, it was mostly the latter. With Aki’s current strength, as long as he was willing to go to the Flower Core, there was almost nothing he couldn’t achieve.

Among the many Talents and skills acquired through Talent Copy, there were management-related ones as well.

Just like Sketching and other life skills, Aki had always kept them folded and hidden, especially after the Talent skill panel changed again.

What? You say he can’t have children?

Although he can’t give birth himself, Aki can have others give birth for him.

 ”Hmm, I believe you.”

Sona Sitri smiled faintly. That pretty, cold little face breaking into a smile left Aki momentarily dazed.

The ever-serious Sona Sitri suddenly showing a smile—it had a different flavor altogether.

Seemingly noticing Aki’s thoughts, a flush rose on Sona Sitri’s snow-white, pretty face.

But she quickly suppressed it, putting her smile away at the same time.

”Aki, from here Tsubaki will handle the handover with you.”

Sona Sitri turned around, leaving a slender, graceful back. “School just started, and the Student Council has plenty to handle. You’d better work hard~”

”Hah?” Aki was a bit dumbfounded.

Graduation was still two months away. Though time was short, there was no need to rush this much.

He hadn’t even sorted out the Occult Research Club (ORC) side of things yet…

Shinra Tsubaki didn’t care about all that. She directly hauled out a mountain of documents and *thud* dropped them in front of Aki.

”I’ve already sorted them chronologically for you.”

Watching Aki’s dumbfounded expression, Shinra Tsubaki barely managed to suppress her laughter, explaining seriously.

”From now on, you just need to complete them one by one in order. If there’s anything you don’t understand, you can ask Reya.”

Aki looked at the cute-faced, chestnut-long-haired schoolgirl with a bountiful chest.

Kusaka Reya. Position: Bishop. Abilities mainly focus on search and intelligence gathering.

When Mio and Maria broke into Kuoh Academy, it was she who assisted in finding them.

”Reya, please take care of me from now on.”

”Oh my, Red Dragon Emperor-sama is the one who should take care of me. Please take care of me from now on.”

”Just call me by my name. Uesugi works, or Aki. Red Dragon Emperor sounds too weird.”

Kusaka Reya’s lovely brown eyes smiled into crescents as she happily said: “Then I’ll take you up on that, Aki-kun.”

Shinra Tsubaki gave Aki a sidelong glance, sighing inwardly.

The Student Council Room would probably become Aki’s second harem spot after the Divine Research Society Activity Room.

Although Aki’s Charm Talent ability was already under perfect control, as his strength increased, his reputation rose with it. Combined with his increasingly handsome, sunny looks and tall stature, his attractiveness to women only increased rather than decreased.

Inside the Student Council, everyone was Sona Sitri’s Peerage.

Because Aki had barely intervened in Student Council affairs, aside from Saji being gone, the other members hadn’t changed.

So, just like the Divine Research Society, the current members were all girls—just far fewer in number.

Through his conversation with Kusaka Reya, Aki realized he had been mistaken before.

Currently, Sona Sitri’s Peerage totaled only seven people.

They were: Queen Shinra Tsubaki, Rook Yura Tsubasa, Knight Meguri Hanebashi, Knight Bennia, Bishop Kusaka Reya, Bishop Hanagatari Momo, and the recently added, currently a Year 1-F student, Pawn Nimura Ruruko.

Among them, Bennia rarely showed herself; her matters involved the Grim Reapers adjacent to the Underworld.

She seemed to be a half-human, half-Grim Reaper child—the daughter of the high-class Grim Reaper Eulogius.

Because she couldn’t accept Hades’s methods, she defected and became Sona Sitri’s Peerage.

Bennia had the face of a middle school girl, often looking sleepy-eyed.

She had deep purple long hair and gold eyes, liked wearing cute skull masks—a rather distinctive loli schoolgirl.

Bennia’s weapon was the symbol of the Grim Reaper… a scythe.

The skeletal decorations of the higher-ups were also cute style.

Aki’s memory of related information wasn’t extensive. He hadn’t even finished watching the anime plot back then, let alone the massive plots and characters in the later novel originals.

It was just that Bennia was rather distinctive, and being a half-Grim Reaper, half-human hybrid made her more memorable.

The Grim Reapers here were different from the common human conception of Grim Reapers.

Like Devils, Grim Reapers had high, middle, and low class ranks, and the one ruling the Grim Reapers was Hades.

Simply put, it was somewhat similar to the Ten Heavenly Gods of Heaven, except the Grim Reaper series didn’t split off from Devils.

Aki originally wasn’t too clear on this DxD world’s later worldview, and now with The Testament of Sister New Devil’s world mixed in, it had become thoroughly chaotic.

Fortunately, he’d long since stopped obsessing over this. He barely even paid attention to the so-called main plot anymore.

Even if Aki this butterfly hadn’t flapped its wings, in this chaotic world, nothing could possibly follow the original plot.

Besides Bennia, the Student Council had five other members total.

Plus Aki, that made six people.

Logically, six people in the Student Council was completely sufficient.

Ordinary high schools usually had only four or five Student Council members.

There were four positions: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer.

President—no need to elaborate. As the Student Council’s absolute leadership core, wielding great power.

Vice President—as the President’s assistant, helping the President handle daily Student Council affairs.

Secretary—responsible for records and document management, as well as coordinating internal Student Council member work.

Treasurer—responsible for financial management, including Student Council budget and financial reports.

The above positions totaled four to five people.

Specific executive members might vary depending on the school and Student Council’s specific circumstances—there might be two Vice Presidents, two Secretaries, or two Treasurers.

So even if Sona Sitri and Shinra Tsubaki graduated and stepped down directly, the Student Council could still operate normally.

Suddenly finding Aki was probably still partly due to competing with Rias.

Aki had no interest in clubs, let alone the Student Council.

He originally only knew the name “Student Council.” Even as a nominal member, he completely didn’t understand its composition.

Only now, after Kusaka Reya’s detailed explanation, did he finally have a rough impression.

”In that case, recruiting more people really isn’t appropriate…”

The numbers were completely sufficient—even excessive.

Recruiting newcomers: first, whether they could integrate into this collective that was entirely Sona Sitri’s Peerage was questionable.

Having newcomers manage Kusaka Reya and the others would most likely be impossible to implement.

Since that was the case, might as well just promote from within.

Aki’s gaze swept across the Student Council Room, decision made.

The original secretary and treasurer personnel would stay the same. The ones who had been slacking off before…

Directly promote them to Vice President, hand all the work to them.

As for Aki himself, he’d just serve as the President figurehead, taking full charge of anything requiring force.

Facing Aki’s unilateral decision, naturally some were happy and some worried.

The happy ones were the previous treasurer and secretary. The ones who had slacked off for so long naturally had headaches now.

They naturally objected too, but unfortunately their opposition was invalid.

Amidst the clamor, the new Student Council was thus settled.

As for the slackers being unable to properly fulfill Vice President duties and messing up affairs…

Well, Shinra Tsubaki hadn’t graduated yet. Plus they’d been in the Student Council for so long, they’d more or less picked up some things by osmosis.

At first it would naturally be chaotic for a while, but afterward it would be fine.

Successfully dumping the Student Council burden let Aki find a new approach to solving the Divine Research Society’s problems too.

Compared to the Student Council, the Divine Research Society had even more members—surely two management talents could be found.

And compared to the Student Council, club management was actually much simpler.

Especially now that the Divine Research Society didn’t need to execute Contracts, relying on absorbing human emotions to increase power instead—the workload had decreased by more than half.

The final personnel selection was also simple: the blonde little nun Asia, managing together with Ravel.

Asia’s personality was softer; Ravel was more domineering. The two perfectly complemented each other.

In Aki’s memory, Ravel later served as a management-type talent.

The busy week before school started passed just like that. He could finally return to the previous days of dual cultivation to increase strength when busy, dual cultivation to increase strength when free.

Aki had only been comfortable for a few days when Kuoh Academy’s annual Sports Festival began.

Japanese high school Sports Festivals—sports meets—are generally in the second semester, possibly October or November, depending on each school’s activity planning.

But Kuoh Academy, because it had just changed from a girls’ school to co-ed a year ago, plus the Hidden Academy and surface academy holding Sports Festivals simultaneously making things complicated, had pushed it to the third semester.

Even the previous year, when Kuoh Academy had just reformed, the Sports Festival wasn’t held at all.

Aki didn’t need to worry much about the Sports Festival itself, but when it was held, as the new President, he had to show up—and stay at the announcer’s booth all day as a mascot.

As for outside dissatisfaction about the new President being internally decided rather than elected, it was directly ignored.

The few who jumped the most enthusiastically were invited to the Student Council for a good “chat.”

Simply put, Kuoh Academy’s nature determined that some things were different from ordinary academies.

Sona Sitri hadn’t been elected either.

If elections were held and an ordinary person became President, Hidden Academy matters couldn’t be handled at all.

Mid-January. The weather was still a bit cool. For students’ health, many events were held indoors.

Kuoh Academy’s gymnasium was large enough, so the sports meet went fairly smoothly.

Some large group events that absolutely couldn’t be held indoors were scheduled for noon when it was warmest.

Just as Aki was bored stiff playing mascot, he spotted a somewhat familiar figure.

Tachibana Nao—one of The Testament of Sister New Devil’s “female” protagonists, a half-vampire with True Ancestor Bloodline.

At this time, Tachibana Nao hadn’t decided on a gender yet.

Last time they met, Aki’s strength wasn’t enough to see through their true form. Now he could completely confirm the blond “beautiful boy” before him was in a genderless state.

Like Gasper, Tachibana Nao also had a pair of Mystic Eyes.

Except Gasper’s Mystic Eyes were a Sacred Gear ability, while theirs was a Bloodline Talent.

Conversely, it was precisely because this world’s Vampires easily manifest Mystic Eyes that Gasper was chosen by the “Forbidden Balor View.”

Sacred Gears choose their own masters. Generally, they prioritize those with some compatibility, not completely random selection.

Besides that, Tachibana Nao and Gasper were alike in having knots in their hearts.

Gasper’s was because his mixed blood wasn’t accepted by anyone, until he met Rias.

Tachibana Nao’s was because of the True Ancestor Bloodline in their body—they were constantly being hunted.

Their refusal to decide on a gender was also because constantly switching genders made it easier to escape pursuit.

Watching that cute blond shota, desperately disguising themself as an ordinary person and clumsily participating in various events, Aki found it extraordinarily amusing.

”Come to think of it, can all Vampires decide their gender later in life?”

Aki suddenly muttered. If that were true, then why would Gasper—who was even cuter than Tachibana Nao—choose to be male? What a waste.

Yura Tsubasa, working beside him, blinked her pale blue beautiful eyes, looking at Aki who had suddenly turned serious, curiously tilting her little head.

Yura Tsubasa. Expert in martial arts, liked wild boys, had a great figure, with a head of sky-blue shoulder-length hair.

She was one of the previous slackers, now one of the Vice Presidents, so she was here playing mascot with Aki.

Yura Tsubasa heard Aki’s quiet muttering, but she didn’t understand this stuff either.

”Aki-kun, if you want to know, you can just go ask the person themself~”

She shook her sky-blue little head, looking regretful.

”Speaking of which, Kiba-kun actually turned into a girl. It’s really disappointing.”

Seems every girl has a bit of fujoshi tendency in their heart. For the Uesugi x Kiba CP, quite a few people were shipping it.

”Yuhime didn’t ‘turn into’ a girl. She originally was…”

Aki rolled his eyes, annoyed: “She just returned to her true form. What are you people thinking!”

”Hehe, although it’s a bit regrettable, this is good too.”

Yura Tsubasa said with a smile: “If Kiba-kun really were a boy, I could only watch. After all, no matter what, I can’t accept my other half getting together with another boy.”

Lots of people are like this. They say they like it, but when it actually happens to them, they can’t accept it at all.

Shipping BL is fine, but if their own boyfriend gets with another man, the first one who can’t accept it is the fujoshi herself.

It’s the “Lord Ye’s love of dragons” all over again…

Aki couldn’t be bothered to argue with Yura Tsubasa. After these people got familiar with the Student Council schoolgirls, he was frequently teased too.

But if he really tried to take it further, not a single one would dare.

 All talk, no action.

Of course, if Aki really went on the offensive, he could still capture them.

He just couldn’t be bothered wasting that time anymore. Anyway, once he captured Sona Sitri, none of them would be able to escape.

Though Yura Tsubasa was right about one thing—if he wanted to know, he could just ask the person directly.

”You stay here and watch for a bit. I’ll be right back.”

Saying that, Aki didn’t give Yura Tsubasa a chance to refuse, simply standing up and leaving.

Gasper’s heart knot was untied, but without personality correction, he still had some social anxiety.

Normally he was fine, but at events like the Sports Festival where crowds gathered, he definitely wouldn’t participate.

As expected, Gasper was probably hiding somewhere playing his game console right now.

 Author’s Note:

Author’s Note: emmmm, finished writing Tachibana Nao, The Testament of Sister New Devil is done. Next is High School DxD.

Mainly Sona Sitri, and the female characters appearing in anime seasons 3 and 4.

ps: Weakly asking, Serafall—meaning Sona Sitri’s older sister—and Sona Sitri, have those two been captured yet?

It’s been almost a year, plus stuff in the middle, I can’t quite remember. If any readers know, please tell me. Grateful beyond words, QWQ!!!
