Chapter 512 School Trip
Edited by: Kanaa-senpai
The strange sense of closeness was the first thing he had to sort out. He hadn’t hidden Ophis’s situation, and he also told Riviel that she felt the same way toward Ophis.
”So this feeling is closeness and affection… no wonder I feel so safe staying near you.”
After Riviel’s explanation, Aki finally understood that she felt the same thing.
That was exactly why, when they first met, she had treated Aki completely differently from everyone else.
Riviel thought about it for a moment and said slowly, “Come to think of it, I feel this toward Ophis too, just not as strongly as I do with you.”
Aki froze. Riviel felt the same way toward Ophis – so was she just like him?
Combined with Ophis’s sudden affectionate behavior around them earlier, he reasonably guessed that Ophis felt the same way toward both of them.
The two of them studied it carefully for a while, and eventually found that the feeling came from the bloodline inside their bodies. There was no way to block it or remove it.

Looking at the status screen he hadn’t seen in a long time, Aki had plenty of thoughts.
Now that he’d reached Dragon God-level, and with repeated dual cultivation with strong women, the whole screen looked completely transformed.
He didn’t need to look much at the active skill list, since every skill he knew would be counted there anyway. The main point was the passive list.
There weren’t many entries, but each one was the foundation of his strength.
Especially the newly appeared [Aether Resonance] and [Yin-Yang Harmony].
The latter was obviously the manifestation of the Dual cultivation Ability, while the former was an extremely high-level cultivation talent.
Aether is the most basic unit of all energy.
Mana, Cursed Power, Spiritual Power, and Immortal Energy are all made of aether at the smallest level.
With this ability, even without using Dual cultivation Ability, Aki would still be one of the fastest cultivators around.
Of course, no matter how fast that was, it still couldn’t match dual cultivation.
Aki’s attention was mainly on the Origin bloodline. Looking at the dimmer and dimmer “(fragment)” after the trait, he had a rough guess.
The Origin bloodline was his own bloodline, formed by using Dual cultivation Ability to fuse the world’s best bloodlines together.
A bloodline like that probably couldn’t be inherited. Even if children were born, they likely couldn’t inherit all of it, and would only receive one or two strong traits at most.
All life in the world could be considered the world’s children. Over time, bloodlines split apart, branches formed, races appeared, and the bloodlines became weaker.
Aki was the opposite. Once his Origin bloodline was fully completed, he would be closer to the world’s origin than even the first generation of life. In a sense, he’d be the world’s own son.
But that was probably hard to achieve. After all, humanoid life was only one branch among the world’s many forms. There were plenty of beings that weren’t humanoid at all, and some that weren’t even life forms.
Not everything could be like Ophis and Riviel, who were born from concepts and could transform into human form.
Even so, Aki’s bloodline was already extremely close to the world’s origin.
The closer something was to the world, the more it seemed to draw close to him as well.
Ophis and Riviel were exactly like that. In a way, they were children born from the world, except they hadn’t inherited the whole world bloodline – only some of its traits.
If Aki ever had children in the future, it would probably be like that too.
There was no such thing as an heir who could fully inherit his Origin bloodline, unless the world itself spawned an avatar and bore a child with him.
Even if they inherited only one or two traits, that would still be enough to make his children one-in-ten-thousand prodigies.
But Aki had no intention of raising children right now.
The road ahead was long. He had only just begun to see the path, and life was endless. He had only just begun to take in the scenery.
Maybe after he became strong enough, or after he had seen enough of the world, he’d think about raising children. But not now.
He put those thoughts aside and discussed his guess with Riviel.
Riviel agreed. As for why she and Ophis both felt closeness but still didn’t get along…
It was probably like sisters who grew up together – there would always be some conflict.
Aki was more like a brother they met again after growing up. The relationship was not only good, but might even be uncomfortably good.
Bloodlines attract each other. Values and habits, even the deepest genes, are aligned. If they don’t know the ethical issue, romantic feelings can easily form between opposite-s*x blood relatives.
Classic literature like Thunderstorm is basically about that kind of story.
No matter how much Ophis and Riviel disagreed, if outsiders bullied one of their own, they would still stand together.
Ophis had been driven out, but she had only ever talked about defeating Riviel, never killing her.
And Riviel had only driven Ophis away, without going further.
It was more like sisters having a fight than enemies trying to kill each other.
But family fights like that are usually the hardest for outsiders to step into.
Even though Aki was now part of the household, he still didn’t know whose side to take.
After thinking it over, he decisively decided to let Ophis and Riviel solve their conflict themselves.
Until then, he would help with cultivation if either one asked, but he would absolutely not take part in any fight.
After solving one question in his mind, Aki moved on to the real purpose of this meeting with Riviel.
”Riviel, have you thought about becoming a human woman and doing cultivation with me?”
Looking at the slender, beautiful red dragon before him, Aki found her pleasing to the eye, but he really couldn’t feel any sexual excitement. He wasn’t that legendary lecher.
”Uh…” Riviel nodded. “Actually, I do want to… it’s just…”
”Just what?” Aki asked, immediately brightening. “If you’re worried about the effect, I can guarantee it’ll work on you.”
After reaching Dragon God-level, the Dual cultivation Ability still worked on him. It was just that the strongest dual-cultivation partner he had was only a High Goddess, so the progress was nowhere near as fast as before.
No matter how fast or slow it was, if it worked on a Dragon God-level like him, it would definitely work on Riviel too.
”No, even if it didn’t work, I’d still be willing to bond with you.”
Riviel’s voice was a little shy, though that was impossible to tell from her red-dragon form.
As she slowly circled around Aki, she said, “I just haven’t decided what kind of form I want yet, because I don’t really know your taste.”
Riviel was born from dream and void, and could sense strong desires, but she’d only ever seen a handful of humans. Among them, Kuroka was the only woman.
Aki hadn’t expected Riviel to worry about something like that, and that made him even happier.
Being able to customize your wife – what was there not to be happy about?
”White hair, red eyes, tall, long legs, long hair…”
After rattling off the traits he liked most, Aki smiled at Riviel.
There was no way all of those traits could exist in one person, even with magic, because some of them conflicted with each other. Forcing them all together would probably have the opposite effect.
As for why he liked so many different traits…
It could only be said that Aki was broad-minded.
Riviel was simple, but not stupid. She knew how to make reasonable adjustments.
With Aki’s advice, she would probably be able to settle on a form quickly.
In truth, once you reached Dragon God-level, you could change into whatever shape you wanted.
But a fixed true form, like gender, was hard to change once set, so it still deserved some care.
Those who changed their true form or even gender casually were basically evil beings.
Their very existence had nothing to do with the concept of being human.
Unlike Ophis and Riviel, their fixed appearance was their true form, and that true form could still count as human.
Looking at Riviel deep in thought, Aki smiled faintly and said, “Don’t rush this. You can take your time. There isn’t anyone stronger than you right now.”
”Right now?” Riviel caught the key point and asked in confusion. “What do you mean? Are you saying someone stronger than me will definitely appear someday?”
”Actually, there already are some. They just haven’t appeared yet.”
Aki had come to see Riviel this time not only to clear up his own questions and help her decide to become female, but also to warn her about the crisis she would face in the future.
”Above Dragon God-level, I definitely know about Super-Dragon God-level and Evil God-class.”
”There aren’t any beings at those levels in the DXD world right now, but there are in the Eternal Battlefield.”
Riviel listened in a daze. She knew about the Eternal Battlefield, but she had no idea there were so many powerhouses there.
Actually, Aki had never been to the Eternal Battlefield either, but that didn’t stop him from speaking based on what he knew from memory.
Ignoring Riviel’s stunned reaction, he went on. “For now, don’t worry about the Eternal Battlefield. Once you go there, it’s not easy to come back. As long as our world’s Super-Dragon God-level and Evil God-class don’t lose, we don’t need to worry.”
”More importantly, the ghost god Regalzeva from the neighboring E×E world is going to invade in the near future. If you’re still at your current strength, you’ll definitely lose to him.”
Regalzeva’s exact power was unclear, but at most he was on the level of Super-Dragon God-level, and most likely just Dragon God-level.
If the gap in power were too huge, even if he invaded through a dimensional rift and made Riviel unhappy, she wouldn’t be reckless enough to fight and get herself beheaded.
He was probably only winning because their skill gap in battle was overwhelming.
Come to think of it, both Ophis and Riviel were seriously lacking in combat experience.
They had tremendous power, but not the matching fighting skill.
In the original timeline, Ophis was used by the Hero Faction, drained of power, and badly injured.
Great Red disliked the Super Evil Beast, but still needed to fuse with Hyoudou Issei to deal with it.
That so-called fusion was basically just lending Issei power, which made up for the lack of combat experience.
In the original timeline, even with the cheat-like power-up, Hyoudou Issei still fought his way up through punches and kicks.
The abilities he developed were pretty lewd, sure, but his actual combat performance was solid. Honestly, he was only a little behind Aki now.
Aki would of course never let something like that happen again. Ophis was easy enough to handle – once the Hero Faction started moving, he could prepare using the clues from his memory.
But for Riviel, she would have to rely on herself.
First, he couldn’t sense anything happening inside the dimensional rift.
Second, the ghost god would appear much later, and Aki didn’t know exactly when.
If Riviel didn’t force a breakthrough before then, or make a Soul contract with him, then once she died, she would really be gone.
Seeing that Aki wasn’t joking, Riviel finally became serious too.
”Okay. I’ll do it as soon as I can.”
After agreeing to meet again for dual cultivation once Riviel finished deciding on her transformation form, Aki left the dimensional rift and returned to the Human World.
Aki had thought Riviel would need only a few days to decide, but he’d forgotten that the two of them had very different senses of time.
After waiting more than a month with no message, he took the initiative and entered the dimensional rift again to find Riviel.
Then he found that after a full month, Riviel had only decided on white hair and red eyes, plus a rough idea of body proportions.
She still hadn’t decided on hairstyle or exact body shape.
But Aki wouldn’t force the issue. Even though Riviel was accommodating his preferences, she also had her own little details she liked.
In the end, Aki left a clone behind in the dimensional rift to stay with Riviel, occasionally offer small suggestions, and provide references so she could finish this life-defining decision together with him.
…
At the start of May, the annual school trip began.
After voting, Kuoh Academy’s third-years decided to go to Kyoto this year.
Aki had been stuck at home for too long and was getting a little bored, so he came in person and planned to enjoy the trip properly.
Really, it was mostly because after splitting off a clone, he had a lot more time and energy. After organizing his memories, he realized this trip was perfect for taking down Rosweisse and Kiryu Blueka.
Besides them, there were also plenty of other classmates with decent looks, such as the two background girls who always appeared around Kiryu Blueka.
If he got the chance, Aki didn’t mind taking them too.
If not, he wouldn’t force it. Rosweisse and Kiryu Blueka were still the main targets.
In fact, after several months together, Rosweisse was already easy to take down.
After all, they’d been living together for a long time, and she’d been watching Aki, Rias, and the rest of the Naruse Mio girls fool around every day. As a mature woman, she naturally had desires.
Not all devil peerages are guaranteed to sleep with their Master, but if it’s an opposite-s*x peerage, the odds are basically over eighty percent.
When Rosweisse decided to become part of Aki’s peerage, she’d already prepared herself mentally.
But because of her personality, and because they hadn’t found the right opportunity yet, Aki still hadn’t taken her down.
This trip to an unfamiliar place, where they’d also be staying in a hotel, felt like the right time to finally make Rosweisse one of his own.
It was for her own good too. That way she could blend in with the group more naturally, and her strength would rise dramatically.
Rosweisse wasn’t weak, but without dual cultivation for this long, she’d still inevitably become one of the weaker women in the group.
Luckily, she didn’t place too much value on strength and hadn’t become anxious about it.
That only made Aki more interested in her.
After a two-hour shinkansen ride, they arrived in Kyoto smoothly, and the third-years from the Student Council started splitting into small groups.
A lot of girls came to invite Aki, but he turned them all down.
That included the girls from the student body and the Divine Research Society.
In the end, Aki only acted together with Rosweisse, who was serving as the lead teacher.
The school trip lasted three days and two nights. First, he’d take down Rosweisse, then slowly approach Kiryu Blueka, who he still wasn’t that familiar with.
That was his plan, but plans rarely survive contact with reality.
Halfway through the date with Rosweisse, while they were visiting a temple, a little fox girl latched onto him.
In the hotel room, Aki looked at the somewhat familiar little beauty and thought about how to politely refuse.
The fox-eared loli in front of him, who looked like a middle school girl, was named Kuko.
She was only a little over four feet tall, not even reaching Aki’s chest.
By human standards, she was already an adult, but by youkai standards, she was probably still in elementary school.
Aki knew Kuko, or more precisely, he knew her mother – the great youkai nine-tailed fox Yasaka, who ruled Kyoto.
She was also a stunning beauty with a great figure, one of the heroines from the original timeline.
Yasaka had Kuko, but no husband. As for whether she was still a virgin, Aki didn’t know, and neither did his memory.
Since she’s a youkai, there are plenty of ways to produce offspring, so she wouldn’t necessarily need to pair with the opposite s*x.
Because there was no information at all about Yasaka’s husband, that is, Kuko’s father, Aki leaned toward the idea that Yasaka had used some special method to give birth to Kuko and was still pure herself.
That would also explain why Yasaka, a mature nine-tailed fox in the original timeline, seemed bold and aggressive on the surface but occasionally acted clumsy and at a loss.
”Lord Red Dragon Emperor, please, save my mother.”
The loli’s childlike voice snapped Aki out of his thoughts.
He pulled his attention back from the nine-tailed fox Yasaka, wherever she might be, and focused on the cute blonde fox-eared girl in front of him.
”So you want me to rescue your mother?”
”Yes, please.”
”Wait. Before that, I want to ask a few questions.”
Aki had some memory of Kuko and Yasaka’s story, since Yasaka was one of the later heroines and the plot was fairly important.
But even though the world was trying to stay on track, Aki’s growing strength had already made many of the ripples impossible to erase completely.
Kuko’s appearance now wasn’t exactly the same as the version in his memory, but it wasn’t completely unrelated either.
In the original timeline, when Yasaka disappeared, Kuko mistakenly thought Hyoudou Issei and the others, who had come on the school trip, were the culprits. Only after that misunderstanding was cleared up did she ask Issei and the others to help rescue her mother.
And Kuko also had a fragment of a divine beast inside her.
During the assault on the Underworld by monsters, she and her mother both assisted the Underworld.
During the Evil Dragon war, she and her mother also helped defend Japan.
Afterward, she even enrolled in elementary school at Kuoh Academy and stayed at Issei’s house.
Now, leaving aside the things that hadn’t happened yet, the first two already didn’t match.
Aki could clearly sense that Kuko didn’t have any divine beast fragment inside her, and she also hadn’t gone through the misunderstanding. She had come straight to him asking for help.

Summary:
Aki studies bloodline resonance with Riviel and Ophis, then learns Riviel wants to choose a human form before dual cultivation. He warns her about future threats like Super-Dragon God-level beings, the Eternal Battlefield, and the invading ghost god Regalzeva. Later, the story jumps to Kyoto, where Aki targets Rosweisse and meets Kuko, who begs him to rescue Yasaka.
—
Trivia:
1. Dragon God-level still allows further growth through cultivation and bloodline completion.
2. Aether is described as the smallest unit of all energy types in this setting.
3. Riviel’s indecision over form is treated as a long-term life choice, not a cosmetic one.
4. The Eternal Battlefield is dangerous partly because returning from it is difficult.
5. The neighboring E×E world’s ghost god Regalzeva is framed as a future invasion threat.
6. Aki uses clone presence to manage time and keep Riviel company while she decides.
7. Kyoto trip target list is flexible: Rosweisse and Kiryu Blueka are priorities, but extra classmates are optional if opportunity appears.
8. Kuko’s current appearance differs from the original timeline because world events are already diverging from memory.
