 ”I know… Honestly, I’m still undecided.”

 It’s been a while since the incident with Claire, and I’ve managed to calm down a bit. On one hand, there’s White Lily Cafe, a long-established business with a good reputation, real estate, and cute girls. If it’s profitable, it’s not a bad deal at all.

 Belzeda didn’t say anything about Lana’s situation. I wonder if he trusts me or if he’s just not saying anything because I’m too obsessed…

 ”By the way, do you know any skilled doctors around here…?”

 ”We do have a doctor we’re acquainted with, but they’re not ordinary. The ones at the academy might have more connections, though.”

 ”Yeah, that’s true…”

 Even if I go out wearing a mask, it’s not like anything will happen. It’s a waste of time, but I can’t get any results without doing something…

 I need to think about that too. Well, it’s not like I can do everything in one day. Let’s wrap up the discussion at a good spot and I’ll go to sleep.

 For several days after that, nothing special happened, and I just went about my daily routine, doing my work for the academy and Midnight Fangs.

 It was a Saturday, a weekend with no particular plans. Compared to last week’s chaos, it was surprisingly quiet. Well, I still had to review my lessons, though.

 The season was already approaching the end of May. The greenery of the trees was getting denser and more vibrant. The capital was hot, and it didn’t snow much. It was a great place and season for sunbathing.

 ”…Why don’t I go for a walk?”

 I thought it was important to take a break, so I decided to go out into the capital’s streets alone. I had some pocket money, and I could do some light shopping or have some fun.

 ”That’s right, a cafe crawl sounds good too…!”

 Since I reincarnated into this world, I’ve been struggling to find food that suits my taste. That’s why I even opened a confectionery shop.

 But it’s still not enough. I need more, more, more. The more women and food, the better. To achieve that, I need to polish my own skills. In other words, I need to eat out more.

 So, I strolled around the bustling streets near my mansion. This was a mid-class shopping district, with decent shops and customers.

 ”Hmm…what’s that?”

 As I was walking, I saw a beastman with a fluffy purple tail. It wasn’t particularly eye-catching, but it somehow caught my attention.

 She’s wearing colored glasses, and despite the heat, she’s fully dressed in a hat and clothes. It’s a suspicious getup, if I do say so myself. And that tail, it’s just like the one I saw just the other day….

 That’s when my memory clicks into place.

 ”Isabella…?”

 Isabella and I are standing a little ways apart. I only noticed by chance. And next to Isabella is a slender man with a refined build.

 The guy is a normal human, without a purple tail. In other words, he’s not family. He’s enthusiastically talking to Isabella, but she seems to be backing away.

 ”So, about that antique shop around here…”

 ”…yeah, I see. That’s really interesting.”

 ”I suppose. But there’s something even more fascinating deeper down…”

 This is getting good. Every time the guy takes a step closer, Isabella takes a step back. I can imagine all sorts of relationships between them.

 Hmm…they’re like 2 people who are familiar with each other, but not quite. I don’t have any plans, so I’ll just observe from a distance without being noticed.
