Chapter 53

[Part 1/2]
To hide my relationship as “Koji,” I leave the orphanage as “Mose” and return to Koji in a deserted alley.
Speaking of which, when Ms. Monoka guided me to the real estate agency while I was looking for a room, I was in the form of Koji… Well, since I got Frederica to appraise the magic stones in the dismantling area, I can just say I was introduced by her.
It’s true that I was introduced by her.
However, that might raise suspicion about my relationship with Frederica, but I’ll just say she’s using me because I seem to have potential to continue supporting the orphanage.
So, as it got quite dark, I walked through the city… and I arrived at the adventurer’s guild.
I told Iris and the others that I would take a day off tomorrow, but to aim for the magic item that Iris wants to break the curse, I need to go deeper into the dungeon, so I thought I’d try going alone for a day.
In simple terms, it’s a reconnaissance.
The adventurer’s guild sells maps of the dungeons, and I’ve already bought the one for the 3rd District, so I plan to buy the one for the 4th District, which I heard is a grassland.
The reason I returned as “Koji” was partly to go back to my room, but also for this purpose.
When I entered the guild… it wasn’t completely empty, but it seemed that the young adventurers making money in the shallow districts had mostly finished receiving their rewards, so the reception was relatively quiet.
I’m not a regular, but since the receptionist from when I registered was free, I headed over to her.
”Welcome! It seems you’re a bit late today, but don’t overdo it, okay?”
”Yeah.”
Does she really know all the adventurers that are probably out there? I was greeted with a curious question, and I ended up giving a vague response.
The receptionist looked at me with a puzzled expression.
”Is something wrong?”
”…No, I just want to buy a map of the dungeon.”
She looked young, but maybe because she’s a professional? I decided not to think too much about it and told her what I needed… she seemed a bit angry.
”Um, I just said that you shouldn’t push yourself, right?”
”No, I’m not pushing myself. I just thought I should secure a map to the 4th District while I still have some money.”
”…Ah, I see. You’re trying to get in with the big companies, right?”
The receptionist seemed to understand my words, but that wasn’t the reaction I expected.
So, I asked her to clarify what she meant.
”Get in with them?”
”Huh? The 4th District is a wide grassland, and the big companies have set up large bases from their supply depots. It’s easier to get hired there than going to the offices in the city. So, I thought you were going there to sell yourself.”
Oh, so it’s like a frontline base.
If I can get to that point, it means I have a certain level of skill, and I’d have a higher chance of being accepted.
Of course, I wanted to deny that, but she tried to stop me with her next words.
”However, to move from the 3rd District to the 4th District, you need to defeat a monster called the ‘Gatekeeper,’ and as I mentioned before, it seems that higher-level monsters appear, so I wouldn’t recommend going alone.”
”Is there really something like that? But can’t I just go through after someone else has taken them down?”
”That’s possible, but… if you follow someone like that, they might feel used, and if you try to pitch to a big company, there’s a chance they’ll report you.”
”Ah, if that happens, they’ll definitely refuse my application.”
”Yeah. And the person you followed might even belong to the company you want to join.”
That could lead to trouble, for sure.
”I see… well, even if I get deeper in, I probably won’t have enough strength to manage.”
”Exactly. In the end, I think it’s best to operate in an area that matches your own abilities.”
I don’t plan to join a big company, but I don’t want to deal with any trouble either.
Since I’m planning to challenge the gatekeeper of the 3rd District anyway, it makes sense to scout out the area to avoid running into others.
So, I decided to go ahead and buy a map, thinking it would be good to have in case I get lost.

When I left the guild, most of the stalls in the square in front of the dungeon had already packed up.
It seemed like some shops that had stuck around hoping for better luck were now closing up, and there were noticeably fewer women selling their services.
They looked pretty down, probably missing out on good customers during the rush hour when young adventurers with little experience and easy negotiation skills were heading home.
Among those women, I noticed one looking around as if she was searching for someone specific.
That’s Linna from the “Horned Ox Inn.”
I don’t know who she’s looking for, but I thought I might as well help if I can, so I called out to her.
”Linna, who──”
”Ah! There you are!”
As I approached her and called out, she hugged me before I could finish speaking.
It seems she was looking for me.
”Hey, what’s wrong?”
”What’s wrong, you ask? I was worried because you didn’t come back! I thought you might have died… or gone missing in the dungeon!”
It’s true that I haven’t stayed at the Horned Ox Inn for 2 nights since my last visit.
But…
”Oh, I see. I’m sorry about that. But just because I change inns doesn’t mean I’m only going to stay at one place, right?”
”That’s true, but changing inns means there must be something better than the last one, right?”
”Well, if there’s an available inn near the place where I ate and drank, I might use that one.”
”That might be the case, but inns that are open at night usually aren’t very good, right?”
”Yeah, that’s definitely true…”
This city isn’t small, but there are a lot of adventurers, so inns that maintain a certain quality fill up quickly.
In other words, inns that have rooms available late at night usually have issues with room quality, service, or price.
”Then my place should be better, so are you staying at my place tonight?”
”Uh, well…”
Linna was inviting me like that, but since I had already rented a room, I didn’t need to stay at an inn.
However, since she had been providing various services and was worried enough to check on me, it was hard to say no.
Seeing me hesitate, she rubbed her body against mine with a worried expression.
”Did you really find a better inn than ours? I could try harder if it’s about the room and food, but if it’s about a girl…”
*Squish, squish, rub, rub…*
She seemed to be very fond of me, and I couldn’t help but respond a little to the sensation of her breasts being pressed against me, almost to the point of crushing, and her crotch being pressed against mine with equal force.
Even though it was a short time, I had just enjoyed myself with Frederica earlier… Perhaps because I prioritized pleasing her, I still had some stamina left.
I’ve withdrawn some money when I bought the map at the guild, so I don’t need to get free service like before.
So…
”I understand, I’ll take you up on that. But is the room available?”
Linna answered me with a seductive smile.
”It’s available. My room and… this one too~♡.”
As she said this, she pressed her crotch against me even harder, and my crotch responded even more.
