 (Nana’s Perspective)

 The Royal Capital Lorensia magic Academy has students from ages 6 to 8 in elementary, 9 to 11 in middle school, and 12 to 14 in high school.

 It’s a special school mainly for learning practical magic.

 I, Nana Cartwood, am a third-year high school student and the top of my class.

 I just enrolled last year, but with my overwhelming Magic Power, rich knowledge, and polished magic combat skills, I’ve already made a name for myself throughout the academy.

 Together with other excellent third-year students, I continue to work hard every day to reach even greater heights.

 I’m supposed to graduate next spring, but I wonder when my brother will come back…?

 Right now, it’s the first period of class.

 The topic is “Applications of Dimensional Teleportation Magic.”

 We’re learning how to use teleportation in battle and about portals to distant places and other worlds.

 In this country, heroes are summoned every 5 years, so knowledge of Space-Time Magic is essential.

 Being able to quickly gather many people is one of the conditions for a successful hero summoning.

 However, since Space-Time Magic is the hardest type of magic to master, it seems that even with these classes, the shortage of personnel hasn’t been resolved.

 Still, before I enrolled, I underestimated what I would learn at the magic academy, but the actual content is often very useful in real battles.

 Especially the “Attribute Fusion Practical Training” was tough, but it was really helpful.

 Thanks to the knowledge I gained from this lecture, I finally achieved the simultaneous Magic Power conversion of the 7 attributes needed for the ‘Rainbow Attribute.’ …Well, maybe it’s because my brain is overloaded, but I ended up with a nosebleed.

 ”About the hero summoning, the other day, we successfully summoned many people from other worlds, and one of them seems to have gained the ‘Hero’ job. …And, suddenly, today that ‘Hero’ will visit our academy. …Also, the Ninth Princess, Lady Rina, will be accompanying him, so please be on your best behavior, everyone!”

 (‘Hero’… Brother Rob told me “absolutely don’t get close,” but I’m a little curious.)

 The first class ended, and it was a 15-minute break.

 I hurriedly dashed toward the tallest building in the academy, the [Tower of Guidance].

 Knock, knock. “Excuse me!”

 I knocked on the door of the principal’s office on the top floor of the tower.

 ”Please, come in.”

 After getting permission to enter, I opened the door and stepped inside.

 There was Yuno, who was focused on training her holy attribute magic.

 Since we’ve become close enough to drop the formalities, it feels more like a friendship than a maid and master relationship.

 Yuno has a strong Holy Attribute Affinity, which gives her great power against the demon race, so the principal is specially training her one-on-one, which is quite enviable.

 ”O God of Light, who sits high in the heavens,

 Hear my voice and grant us your mercy.

 With light that drives away darkness and shatters despair,

 Bestow upon us your holy protection as we stand in hardship.

 Your wings bring peace, and your hands provide guardianship,

 The light of salvation shines with infinite power.

 Now, holy angel,

 hear my wish and descend.

 ’Angel Breath!’

 After finishing the chanting, Yuno cast magic on me.

 My body was wrapped in a gentle light, and that light gradually faded away.

 ”Yay! I did it! It was a success!”

 Yuno jumped up and down, overjoyed.

 ”Alright, alright, now you’ve mastered the 4th holy attribute magic.”

 The academy head, Ferris Ovaldi, smiled as they watched.

 ”Um… congratulations, Yuno.”

 For now, I said some words of celebration.

 ”Hehe, thanks, Nana. …So, what brings you here at this time?”

 Since we usually meet in the cafeteria during lunch, Yuno tilted her head in curiosity.

 ”I heard that a ‘hero’ is coming to this academy, so I was curious about what kind of person he is. I thought maybe you or the headmaster would know, so I came to ask.”

 ”Hmm, I only heard about the hero summoning at the castle, and I haven’t been back since, so I don’t know.”

 Yuno replied a bit apologetically.

 ”Oh, the hero summoning… I was right there, so I saw the ‘hero’ too. He was a bit chubby boy… for some reason, he was staring at the princesses a lot.”

 The one who answered was the academy headmaster, with beautiful long blonde hair tied back and blue eyes.

 She looked like a woman in her twenties and was a friend of my mom. …Maybe because her hair and eye color are the same as mine, there were rumors in the academy that I was the “headmaster’s secret child.”

 ”Chubby… that’s a word I’ve never heard before. …Oh, it means overweight, right?”

 I checked about “chubby” at the ‘Fountain of Knowledge.’

 In this world, there are very few fat people.

 Since you hardly see them among young people, a slightly chubby ‘hero’ reminds me of monsters like orcs.

 ”So, has your brother not come back yet?”

 ”Um… yes. I think he’s safe, but…”

 I replied with a bit of worry, lowering my eyebrows.

 ”I see… When he comes back, make sure to tell him to come here. Emma often writes about you guys in her letters, bragging about you. I want to see how strong he really is!”

 The headmaster smirked, showing a competitive smile.

 ”Ahaha… Brother Rob likes to fight, so I think you two will get along well.”

 ”Wow, I really look forward to meeting him!”

 …This person definitely wants to fight my brother.

 ”I also want to meet Sir Rob soon.”

 …It’s fine to meet, but no naughty services allowed!

 Second period, “Strategic Magic.”

 In this class, we learn about strategic combat using magic.

 It’s important to combine multiple magics to gain an advantage in battle.

 This is one of the lectures I need to pay close attention to.

 If I can use 2 Space-Time magics at the same time like my brother, my combat ability will improve a lot.

 ”Everyone, magic is not just about clashing powers. Especially in this country, fighting monsters and the demon race is a daily routine. To win, you need to know how to use magic on the battlefield, which means you need tactical thinking.

 For example, if you just unleash a powerful high-level fire magic, you might win in that moment, but in the long run, your Magic Power will run out, leaving you open to counterattacks. But what if your opponent uses wind magic? The power of fire can amplify, so even low or mid-level fire magic can break through the enemy’s defenses.

 Even more important than elemental compatibility is positioning. Use earth magic to change the terrain, restrict the enemy’s movements, and give your water magic user a chance to support. That is strategic magic.

 Today, everyone will all participate in a group practical exercise. Fire, wind, water, and earth users will work together to see how to suppress the enemy and practice those tactics. Remember, it’s not just about individual magic; teamwork is the key to victory!”

 And so, today was the day for the outdoor practical exercise.

 I walked over to my usual group and greeted them.

 ”Nalka, Jane, Edda, nice to see you!”

 ”Nanna! Nice to see you too!”

 ”This means our victory is guaranteed!”

 ”…I heard someone confessed to you again.”

 ”U…uh-huh. Almost every day, someone calls out to me… and I’m still just a 9-year-old kid.”

 I replied with a wry smile.

 I hardly remember their names, faces, or voices, but most of the ones confessing are older than me.

 …Is there a lot of lolicons around?

 I only need my brother for that!

 In the practical training, we each took on one of the basic attributes and thought about how to combine different magic to defeat the enemy, then presented our ideas.

 We presented an attack magic called ‘Firestorm’ using a combination of fire and wind, and a restraining magic called ‘Quicksand Wave’ using earth and water.

 In the third period, “Theory of Offensive Magic Enhancement.”

 We study and practice how to increase the destructive power of magic.

 Mainly, we learn how to make attack magic more powerful.

 For me, who mainly focuses on the ‘Rainbow Attribute’ and the [Magic Condenser Device (Immortal Seven)], this lecture isn’t very relevant.

 Since I’ve already earned the credits needed to graduate, I might as well just tune it out.

 Finally, lunch break has arrived.

 I meet up with Yuno in the bustling cafeteria filled with students.

 The cafeteria at this school provides everything for free.

 You can either hand a meal ticket to the lady at the entrance or tell her the number on the ticket, and she will give you the food you want.

 Today, I chose ‘Ninja Udon.’

 The best part is that it comes out really quickly after you order.

 Also, I like that it has a mysterious name that even the ‘Fountain of Knowledge’ can’t explain.

 It seems Yuno chose the ‘Enjoyable Set Meal.’

 It’s a healthy meal focused on vegetables and fish.

 We sit at our usual table.

 For some reason, this table is always mysteriously empty, no matter how crowded it gets.

 ”Nana, that ‘Hero’ guy we talked about earlier was in the headmaster’s office just now.”

 ”Really? What was he like? Was he really like an orc?”

 ”Pffft! Like an orc! Come on, you can’t make me laugh while I’m eating!”

 ”Cough… So, what kind of person was he?”

 ”Well… If I say it was like what the headmaster said, you’ll understand, right?”

 ”…If that’s the case, then it means he was only looking at Yuno, but is that true?”

 ”Yeah… While talking to the headmaster, he kept looking at me with a slightly creepy smile…”

 Yuno seemed to remember that face and slightly twisted her own.

 It looks like, just as Brother Rob said, it’s better to stay away from the ‘hero.’
