On the grounds of Lorensia Magic Academy,
with many students and teachers watching, my match against Headmaster Ferris was about to begin.
”Now, to avoid injuries as much as possible, we have already put on the ‘Barrier Bracelets’ used in the Martial Tournament… The outcome will be decided by either breaking the bracelets or one of us surrendering. No objections, right? If you have any other requests, feel free to say so.”
Headmaster Ferris calmly confirmed the rules.
”Well… I’d like to add a rule that if I can break that ‘Crystal Blade,’ I win.”
I replied coolly.
(Earth Magic 12th Rank sword… it’s probably really tough, but I can’t just hit a woman directly. This is all I have.)
”Hehe… interesting proposal. That’s fine. Any other requests?”
”None. Then, let’s begin.”
I quietly lowered my center of gravity and naturally spread my legs wide to get into position. I turned my body slightly, raised my left hand in front of my face, and firmly gripped my right hand around my waist. Gathering strength throughout my body, I fixed my sharp gaze on the headmaster, like a lion stalking its prey.
”Hehe, nice! At your age, making me feel this much pressure is impressive.”
Headmaster Ferris smiled confidently, but her gaze was sharp, focused on me. The sword in her hands reflected the light, shining as a symbol of her determination.
The left-hand sword is held at waist level, while the right-hand sword is raised high. This stance is flexible enough to respond to any attack.
A few seconds of silence pass, and our gazes intersect.
Then, I raise my voice.
”I’m going!”
(No holding back… I’ll go all out from the start!)
I instantly wrap my body in Magic Power and fighting spirit, and activate ‘Time Boost’ x2, closing in on the headmaster in one swift move.
”──What!? Ugh!”
Headmaster Ferris shows a surprised face, but quickly reacts, swinging down her sword wrapped in lightning, then following up with a horizontal slash using her sword wrapped in ice.
*Bang!! Boom!!*
I hit the side of her sword with all my strength, but as expected, it doesn’t budge at all.
Due to the overwhelming status of my attack, it seems the headmaster’s hands are numb, and she doesn’t follow up with another attack.
I quickly jump back and create some distance.
(Damn, it’s really tough. Just hitting it normally will take too long… then, I’ll create… a new skill!)
I remember my training with one of the gods, Tiseris Eclair Astraea Noel.
My body is mixed with the blood and flesh of the goddess Vanessa, giving me the power to interfere with this world and create new skills.
(I’ve only created ‘Holy Sky Slash’ so far, but I remember the feeling when I made it… this time it’s a simple skill, so I should be able to do it.)
The new skill I’m about to create is──
An enhancement buff skill, ‘Unmatched Awakening.’
It’s a skill that raises my Power and Speed stats by 2 thousand for a certain period.

In the moment I looked away, Headmaster Ferris attacked me.
I barely managed to dodge, but she was increasing her speed.

Nessa was saying something, but I ignored it and got to the point.
(About today’s question right, I still have one left, right? Here’s an extra question. What’s the cost to maintain a boost of 2 thousand in power and speed for one minute?)
(Eh… that’s totally Tiseris’s area. I don’t know! I’ll ask, so just wait a bit!)
(Eh… I should ask for a way to communicate directly with Tiseris next time.)
”What’s wrong! You’ve stopped moving!!”
With a fierce voice, Headmaster Ferris attacked me again.
(Damn… it’s getting more intense.)
I focused on the battle and deflected 2 downward strikes with my fists.
*Bang!! Bang!! Boom!!*
(Fast… but I’m just barely ahead.)
However, in the next moment, Headmaster Ferris unleashed a skill.
”I’m going! ‘Twin Demon Slash’!!”
*Wham! Wham!*
A series of slashes wrapped in Magic Power flew at me.
I dodged them with ‘Step Warp’.
(I see, Headmaster Ferris’s job is ‘Demon Twin Blade Master’… that’s a pretty troublesome job.)
It’s the best job for multi-hit attacks.
It’s impossible to dodge all the rapid-fire skills from close range if they’re just a little fast.
(Hmm… Rob, what’s wrong?)
Goddess Tiseris spoke to me in the goddess chat. …It seems Nessa didn’t pass on my question.

While dodging Headmaster Ferris’s fierce attacks, I continued chatting, but it seemed I was running out of time.

Headmaster Ferris and I quickly closed the distance between us, engaging in a fierce battle.

The strongest job skill of a Level 10 Demon Swordmaster exploded into action.
Headmaster Ferris’s twin swords attacked me like a storm.
But──I deflected all of it with my fists.
*Crack! Crack! Crack!*
The clash of the sword strikes created a sizzling sound, followed by a series of sharp, echoing cracks.
*Blam! Blam! Boom! Boom!*
With the final blow, Headmaster Ferris’s ‘Crystal Blade’ shattered into pieces, sending a shower of sparkling shards everywhere.
…But at the same time, my bracelet also cracked and fell apart.
(Well… I guess it was too much to take that kind of attack barehanded.)
Thus, my match with Headmaster Ferris ended in a draw.
”Ha… Ahahaha! That was fun! Thank you, Rob. It’s been a while since I had such an enjoyable fight. You really are Izana and Emma’s son. I never expected you to go this far without a weapon.”
Headmaster Ferris, smiling with satisfaction, extended her hand toward me.
”Thank you too, it was the best fight. I never thought I would have such an intense close combat with the Headmaster.”
I returned her smile and shook her hand.
”Brother Rob, great job!”
As soon as the match ended, Nana jumped on me with excitement.
”Thanks, Nana. I heard your cheers.”
When I smiled lightly, Nana’s face turned red, and she smiled happily.
”R-Right, Sir Rob, that was an amazing battle! I was so moved…!”
Ms. Yuno was also clapping excitedly while shedding tears. It seemed that she was deeply touched by my performance.
”Thank you, Ms. Yuno. But… maybe I pushed myself a bit too hard.”
I replied with a laugh, but the shock from my broken bracelet still lingered in my arm. It was definitely a bit reckless to block a sword with my fist, but I had no regrets about enjoying the match with Headmaster Ferris.
From a distance, I could hear the cheers of the students. It seemed like the excitement from the battle was smoothly transitioning into a party mode.
