The building was just as I imagined──cool.
The open lobby was bright, with a floor decorated in patterns of black and brown granite and white marble, creating a calm atmosphere with its warm brown and white interior lighting.
Classical music played softly in the background. It felt like one of those foreign hotels featured in travel magazines.
”Excuse me, this is fine. I think resting on that sofa will help me feel better.”
At the back of the lobby, water flowed down a wall like a waterfall. In front of it, I noticed a long sofa.
Living in a place like this and borrowing a girl’s bed felt a bit awkward.
The 6 elevators, arranged around the water wall, were not busy at this time, with few people coming and going.
I couldn’t see the concierge counter from here, so I thought I could rest without feeling uneasy.
”Well, just the air conditioning isn’t enough to cool down your body. Using a wet towel would help cool your down more effectively.”
”You’re right, Risa-sensei. The elevator has arrived, so let’s get on.”
The person called Yuki, who went to drop off our bags at the concierge, returned and agreed with the woman supporting me, pressing the elevator button to open the doors.
Somehow… this Yuki person was pushy, almost forceful. She had a way of making people follow her without question. She was the type I didn’t like.
I didn’t have the energy to resist any longer, so I was swept along and got into the elevator, passing through the security door of the elevator hall and arriving in front of the room.
”Yuki, open the door.”
”Okay, got it.”
It seemed to be a contactless room key. While supporting me, she touched the door with her other hand, and it opened right away.
