Volume 1 Chapter 12 Misunderstandings And Age Deception

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

(I’m glad I had a place I wanted to go to, even though my plans suddenly changed.)

Sudden changes in plans don’t feel great. I try hard not to create free time where I just sit and think alone.

(At this time of year, new autumn clothes should be in stores soon.)

Since I’m out, I might as well stop by. I’ll make new plans and carry them out. I got my driver’s license in July, and right now, that’s about all I can think of doing.

Still, Risa-san’s work schedule is crazy.

It seems like it’s not just work; there are also social events at her workplace. After gatherings or summer parties, she gets forced to go to karaoke, where she has to listen to her seniors and bosses sing for a long time.

If Risa-san could sing, it might be a bit more fun, but she seems to hide her hobbies. Reading the atmosphere, it looks like she can’t just sing her favorite songs openly.

She’s not interested in songs other than her favorites and doesn’t know the popular ones, so she pretends to be tone-deaf and sticks to being a listener.

From the way read receipts have been showing up on her messaging app, it seems like having a full day off is rare for her. She probably takes half days off during the week to make up for it. It’s already been 3 weeks since the day my plans got canceled──about a month since the day I got help from her──and we still haven’t been able to hang out.

At this rate, it feels like our promise might just fade away. Just because I don’t give up doesn’t mean it will work out. A promise needs both sides. When I got a message from Risa-san saying, “I’m sorry, all weekends this month are booked,” I felt a sense of crisis.

My school isn’t a prestigious one, and I’m not really serious about attending. As long as I can graduate, it’s fine, so I decided to take a break.

’It’s okay if it’s not on the weekend. I’m fine with a half day during the week.’

I sent that message to see how Risa-san would respond. Then, unusually, I got a real-time reply: “Thank you! How about this Tuesday after 3 PM? I’ll match it to when your class ends.” …Class? Not a lecture?

(Does she think I’m a college student?)

Now that I think about it, I’ve never talked to Risa-san about our ages or my school.

(Yeah, I’ll just let her keep misunderstanding.)

Even if it’s just for one day, she might hesitate with, “Dating a minor is…” and she would probably stubbornly refuse any money I offer as thanks.

After thinking it over, I replied, “I don’t have a class at that time, so 3 PM works for me.” It’s true that I don’t have a class. I’m not lying.
