Chapter 55 Shopping Date (Kazumi)

”That guy from earlier was surprising, huh?”
Kazumi, walking next to me with our arms linked, laughs.
”…What was with him asking to be my disciple…”
”I heard he asked Liz, Rena, and Martina too? …Well, he does have a good eye for women.”
”I warned him every time, but he just doesn’t get it…”
Yeah. That pick-up guy even tried to hit on Kazumi, so I got really mad. I unleashed my strongest aura at him.
He flinched and stepped back, but then suddenly sat down on the ground. He put his hands together and said, “Please make me your disciple!” I was shocked to see that ‘dogeza’ exists in this world too.

His name is Gorge Rombart. He comes from a fallen noble family and is now a free adventurer who hops from party to party. I thought he was begging to learn swordsmanship, but instead, he said,
”Please teach me how to date those beautiful girls!”
He looked like a pretty handsome guy, so I just said,
”You could get girls without pick-up lines, right?”
and left him there.
He still tried to cling on, but Kazumi told him,
”This is my date today! Don’t interrupt!”
and that made him quiet down.

”But you’re dating me, right?”
Kazumi looks at me with a worried expression.
”Kazumi is my future wife, after all. We promised that in our past lives.”
I can’t say it directly, so I answer while looking ahead.
Since Kazumi doesn’t respond, I peek at her… is she crying?
”Um… Kazumi? Why are you crying?”
”Because… I’m so happy…”
Kazumi finally lets go of my hand and covers her face with both hands.
”You don’t need to cry… I’m sorry…”
”Just hearing you say ‘I love you’ makes me so happy… and to be called ‘future wife’…”

I can’t say I don’t admire that kind of childhood friend relationship.
”Oh, that store over there!”
Kazumi pointed in a direction…
”Whoa! A lingerie shop!”
”What? You don’t like it?”
”…I was super embarrassed when I came here with Liz in the morning.”
”Hey, hey! What did you pick out for her?”
Kazumi asked with a grin.
”I said, ‘I think white would look good,’ and she bought a few pretty lacy ones… She even got a really risqué red one…”
Just remembering makes me blush.
”Pick out a few for me too… um, the… sexy ones…”
”No way, you are still a kids, right? There aren’t any sexy ones!”
Kazumi chuckled and replied to me.
”There are sexy ones for dwarves, you know. Since they’re shorter.”
”…I see how it is…”
Suddenly, I imagined Kazumi in sexy lingerie. No way. If she tempted me like that, my self-control would… I mean, me at 23 getting all flustered over little Kazumi in sexy lingerie is just wrong.

”That was unexpected…”
It seems they don’t have her bra size, even if they have the shorts.
”Dwarves… their bodies are small, but they definitely have curves, huh?”
Kazumi lamented about her underdeveloped chest. Those 3 sisters were definitely like that.
”Excuse me, are you looking for sexy lingerie?”
A shop assistant approached us.
”Yes… but with this body…”
The assistant whispered something to Kazumi, who looked like she was about to cry. Suddenly, Kazumi’s face lit up with a smile.
”Yes! Can I see that? Hiroya, wait a moment!”
Saying that, Kazumi was led by the assistant into the back of the store.

After a few minutes, Kazumi appeared with a shopping bag.
”Hiroya! Please take care of the payment!”
She had a huge smile on her face. She must have found something she liked. It cost about 3 small coins, but since Kazumi looked happy, it was worth it.
”The regulars say there are people (creepy guys) with that kind of taste. They can’t display it, but the assistant showed me some in the back.”
Kazumi told me in a small voice.
”Since I was at it, I bought a few… I’ll wear them for you next time.”
Kazumi blushed and said something outrageous. So my self-control…
(I wonder if I can hold out until I’m the right age…)
Yeah. I’m not confident. Next, I might finally connect with Rena.

”We’re all going to eat together at night. So, how about we go somewhere else for a bit?”
If we still have time… okay.
”I want to go somewhere with Kazumi.”
I took the shopping bag and grabbed Kazumi’s hand with my right hand, running.
I gave a little change to the old man at the entrance, and he let us in easily.
”We can go inside the clock tower.”
Kazumi and I climbed the spiral staircase.
It’s probably the second tallest building after the royal castle, the ‘Clock Tower in the Central Square.’ I thought the view of the royal capital from the top would be amazing.
Soon, I could see the bell set above the clock face.
”Look, we’re going outside.”
I pulled Kazumi’s hand and reached the top of the stairs.
”Wow!”
From there, we could see the royal capital. The houses looked like a miniature set. And it was vast. Of course, it couldn’t compare to Tokyo, but still, it was the first time I was seeing a ‘big city’ in this world.
”Oh, the sunset, Hiroya.”
The sunset painted the sky red as it sank behind the mountains in the distance.
”It’s beautiful…”
Kazumi, snuggling close to me, whispered softly.
”This…”
I showed Kazumi the silver ring I bought from the street vendor before meeting her.
”Wow! Are you giving this to me?”
It was a simple silver ring with small hearts carved into it, nothing else fancy.
”Of course, this is for you, right…?”
Kazumi offered her left ring finger.
”It’s just a small one for now, but I’ll give you a proper one later.”
I gently slipped the silver ring onto her small finger.
Kazumi’s eyes glistened as she looked at the ring on her finger.
The sunset painted both of us in red.
”We’re going to live in this world from now on, right?”
Kazumi murmured while looking at the red-tinted town/street, and I turned to her and said.
”Yeah. Together forever.”
Her eyes glistened a bit more at my words, and then she closed her eyes.
”Forever, together…”
I softly kissed her lips as she whispered that.
”Mm…”
Not in a greedy way, but our tongues lightly danced together.
Soon, the bell rang 5 times.
”That surprised me!”
Kazumi and I pulled away from each other in shock.
”Hehe.”
We both laughed and kissed lightly again.
”Alright, let’s go to everyone.”
”Yeah. We’re meeting at the guild’s second-floor cafeteria.”
”Okay, let’s hurry!”
I took Kazumi’s hand and we went down the spiral staircase again.
