Volume 3 Chapter 8 Hobbies And Financial Power

Edited by: Kanaa-senpai

Two months ago, when I started living in this house, Yuki-san moved in with her belongings next to the room that Risa-san told me I could use. If it had been a week ago, it might have been the room next to my room, which I was using as a guest room.

That’s because I’m not using the room on the first floor now.

The day after receiving life advice from Banzushima-san, I moved all my belongings to the master bedroom that Risa-san is using, based on her hope of wanting to “spend more time together.”

The clothes I brought are also in the closet of the room on the second floor.

Since we’re in the same house, I thought it didn’t matter where I put my things; it wouldn’t affect my life at all, but psychologically, it felt different.

It’s a trivial matter, but I started to feel the reality of “living with Risa-san” in various ways.

 ”Ah, I’m tired… It smells delicious…”

”I wonder what he’s cooking. Do you know, Risa-sensei?”

”I don’t know! I’m leaving everything up to Shuu.”

The two of them, now changed into loungewear, sit not on the sofa but at the counter in front of the kitchen. It seems they were lured by the smell of dinner being prepared.

”Should I prepare some drinks and snacks?”

When humans get too tired, they lose their appetite. Given how tired the two of them looked, I thought it would be better to serve some pre-dinner drinks that weren’t planned.

”Okay, then I’ll have a little drink. Yuki, do you want to drink too?”

 ”Yeah, I’ll drink.”

”Got it. I’ll prepare it, so wait a moment.”

I took out a chilled can of Chardonnay sparkling wine from the fridge and poured it into a flute glass with some cassis liqueur added.

Using a bar spoon I got from the owner of my part-time job, I lightly mixed it and placed the glasses on the table where the two were sitting.

For the snacks, I served a plate with large slices of cream cheese soaked overnight in store-bought white dashi, drizzled with a few drops of soy sauce, topped with some bonito flakes, and garnished with thinly sliced cucumber.

While waiting, the two talked about work for a while. However, as they drank the pre-dinner drink, Kir Royale, and ate the snacks, they began discussing the circles participating in tomorrow’s event.

I didn’t know, but it seems there are original sales events for doujin circles in addition to the summer and winter events.

I wasn’t participating in their conversation, but I couldn’t help but listen closely to what they were saying.

 (Where did my resolve go?)

While reflecting alone, I started preparing the next appetizer.

I sprinkled olive oil mixed with finely chopped garlic and chili peppers into a paste of anchovies over halved cabbage and took out a dish that had been baked in the oven.

After this, I planned to bake Risa-san’s favorite apple pie. I decided to keep the door open for deodorization as well.

”The funds have been good lately, led by futures, so the stock prices have improved, and I’m making a lot of profit from selling off. But I need to keep some reserves for winter.”

”Huh? But since I received dividends from the rights drop at the end of October, can’t you use quite a bit? I’m planning to use all of my dividends for this shopping, but isn’t Risa-sensei different?”

”I’m using some of the money I borrowed from my parents to pay off the loan for this house. I have to set aside that amount.”

”Oh, I see. That can’t be helped.”

It seems they were talking about the amount of money to use for shopping at the event, but for some reason, the conversation turned to stock prices and physical stocks. The range of their conversation was wide, and I couldn’t follow the flow of the topics. Is this how conversations between women go?

”Why does it have to cost so much! Every time there’s an event, I’m tested on my stamina and financial power!”

”I think it’s because Risa-sensei has a lot of favorite characters? Maybe you should narrow it down to just one.”

While I was eating the cabbage appetizer I had exchanged for the snack plate, Yuki-san offered a very calm perspective.

They only had one glass of Kir Royale as a pre-dinner drink, which was a small amount and shouldn’t have been that high in alcohol content… yet for some reason, Risa-san was in high spirits.

And the conversation among the fujoshi was broad in genre and deep in content.
