The next day──.
From Christmas Eve morning to afternoon, Risa helped me cook rice, make sushi rice, and put on the toppings to finish the chirashi sushi. During that time, she kept asking, “Are you sure you don’t want to help me with shopping? Is Shuu just going to stay in Japan after we go home together?”
Risa was planning to go back to Japan the day before the event and then return here on New Year’s Eve. She wanted to spend as much time as possible with me before I went back home.
Plus, she said to her parents that she wouldn’t return to Japan except for school events, so if she was in Japan for New Year’s, they would probably tell her to visit her family. This was one reason she wanted to keep her stay as short as possible just for shopping. If she met her parents, she felt like she would have to update them, and she wanted to avoid talking about her pregnancy for as long as she could.
”There’s no change in plans. I already told my parents I’m going back. I have to meet them.”
”What!? You’re acting too fast! Oh, I see… you already contacted them.”
Actually, the day before yesterday, I got an email from my guardians who were on a business trip. They said, “We understand about the pregnancy and marriage. We need to know the details and discuss what’s next. Please let us know when you’ll be back in Japan.”
So, I just replied to that email yesterday.
”Shuu. There’s something I want to talk to you about.”
Risa-san, who had covered the chirashi sushi on a tray so it could go straight to the table, put it in a shopping bag and said seriously.
”We’re going to Dr. Dornaada’s home party today, right?”
”Yeah.”
Dr. Dornaada is a friend of Risa’s former boss and the husband of Elishira-san. Risa has met him during her training, but I haven’t, and today will be my first time.
”I think we’ll go to Arshi’s room around 9 PM.”
”Oh, okay.”
Even if Risa goes to Arshi’s room and I’m alone, Elishira-san will be there, so it should be fine.
”I wanted to let you know that you’ll be going into the room with us.”
”Me too?”
”Yeah. Because you said you’d help with shopping.”
What does helping have to do with going to Arshi’s room?
”It’s an amazing room, so be prepared, okay?”
”…”
What kind of room is it? I couldn’t find the words to ask, so I just nodded for now.
