”…Hiroya… you need to explain what’s going on.”
Dad and Mom are sitting in front of me and Kazumi at the table.
”This is something I did on my own… it has nothing to do with Kazumi.”
”It has nothing to do with her? I thought you were an honest son…”
Dad is holding his head and glaring at me.
”Exactly! How can you say Kazumi is unrelated? What were you thinking while dating her?”
Mom is really angry too. It’s true that I was secretly taking care of the Snow Wolves, but I didn’t want Kazumi to get in trouble because of it…

Let’s go back to a week ago, when we returned from the dungeon.
We rushed back to the village and quickly took the Snow Wolves to Mr. Rudolf, making sure no one in the village saw us.
Rena had already talked to him using ‘Telepathy’, so he understood the situation.

”Are they going to be okay?!”

Mr. Rudolf turned a little red and looked away from Liz.
”Snow Wolves are creatures with decent magical power among beasts. Some of them can understand Elvish, and their ability to sense danger and work together as a group might be magic they use unconsciously because of their magical power.”
Mr. Rudolf moved away from the treatment table and toward the window, trying not to look at Liz.
”And right now, these kids are fighting to turn the miasma they took in into magical power. If they keep getting affected by the miasma…”
He lit a cigarette.
”Phew. If that happens… they will turn into monsters. Hiroya, are you ready to take them down if that happens?”
”…Yes. I will take responsibility and defeat them. After that, I’ll apologize to the pack leader.”
”Okay. They will probably stay like this for about a week to ten days. They won’t be able to eat properly, so let’s prepare some liquid food. Just once a day. You’ll give it to them.”

The 3 sisters, Aluda and her siblings, said they would start making new equipment right away. After returning to the village, we headed straight to the shop. Liz, Martina, and Dorothy went to the inn, while Kazumi, Rena, and I pulled a cart we borrowed from the clinic toward my house.
”I want to sneak in. Rena, can you help?”
”Okay. ‘Invisible’ ‘Soundproof’.”
We made ourselves invisible and quietly passed by Mr. Raiden, who was on watch, and moved to the window of my room.
Kazumi and I rushed into my room inside the mansion and quietly opened the window.
”Fly.”
I brought the 3 Snow Wolves into my room through the window.
I laid a blanket in the crate and placed the 3 of them on it, then received the liquid food from Rena, who came in after us, and fed it to them.
”Hang in there. We’ll take care of you every day… you absolutely can’t lose to the miasma…”
”Rena wants to cuddle with you guys when you’re all better.”
”Work hard to turn the miasma into magical power and make it your own.”
Kazumi, Rena, and I encouraged the Snow Wolves as they drank the liquid food.
We placed a few Flame Stone Warmers filled with magical power under the blanket and closed the crate.
”Lock.”
Kazumi used the ‘Lock’ magic she learned recently to secure the crate.
”We’ll come back tomorrow…”
Kazumi, looking worried, spoke to the crate, and then we left the room.

I watched the Snow Wolves for a week and fed them.
Then today, when I came home with Kazumi… my parents found out.

”So… what happened to those girls?”
”…How did you know they were female?”
”Female!? …You’re saying it like that…!”
Dad’s face turned bright red. Uh-oh, I think I touched a nerve.
”…They were entrusted to me by the pack leader. I was told to use them as my bodyguards.”
”You don’t need bodyguards, Hiroya, right?”
Mom leaned in, curious.
”Well, I had to accept their offer because of the situation.”
”I didn’t get any report about the pack… when did they move in?”
Dad crossed his arms.
”Anyway! Why didn’t you just introduce them to us normally? Did Kazumi know?”
”Introduce them? It’s not that big of a deal…”
”Hiroya! That’s really dishonest!”
Dad slammed his hand on the table.
”Lord, please calm down. I knew about it too… and I was helping Mr. Hiroya. I’m just as guilty.”
Kazumi gently placed her hand on Dad’s fist.
”…What a kind girl… Instead of blaming Hiroya for being dishonest, you’re supporting him…”
Dad looked at Kazumi with teary eyes.
”…Hiroya doesn’t deserve her. Kazumi? You should break up with this guy.”
Huh? Did I really do something that bad?
”Master, ma’am, I’ve brought them.”
Ms. Stella walked into the room.
”Ah. Let them in.”
At Dad’s words, Ms. Stella came in with 3 girls dressed as maids.
”We found the perfect sizes. They just needed a little adjustment on the skirts, but they look great.”
Ms. Stella smiled.

The 3 girls hugged me.
”Lady Kazumi too.”
”Thank you for taking care of us.”

Beastfolk girls? I could see white ears peeking out from their white hair. A white tail was sticking out from a hole in their skirts…
”Wait? Are you guys…”
”Snow Wolves…?”
Kazumi and I asked in shock.
”””Yes! We are Sir Hiroya’s servants!”””
”Servants…”
Dad finally rolled his eyes and fainted.

”So that’s what happened… Mom thought it was weird since there were 3 n*ked girls sleeping in your bed…”
I explained everything to clear up my parents’ misunderstanding.
”Well, now I know how my parents see me…”
”Sure, Mom misunderstood, but Hiroya, you also made it confusing. You have all these cute girls around. Of course, we’d think, ‘Oh, here we go again.’ The real problem is that you locked them in your room n*ked!”

Dad asks the 3 Snow Wolf girls.
”Yes! If we can help Sir Hiroya!”
…Yeah. That’s a good answer.

”Wow! They’re doing well now!”
When we got back to the inn and told everyone what happened, Liz looked really happy. I found out later that those 3 helped her when she was attacked by a bunch of orcs. I can imagine she was worried…
”But to be able to turn into humans… they must have gained a lot of magical power.”
”It means they managed to convert miasma into magical power. That boss… was it Haken? He also had quite a bit of magical power.”
Rena and Dorothy were really impressed.
”…What about that fluffy fur… can we not have it anymore?”
Martina said sadly.
”Oh? I don’t think that’s the case. I think they can change between human and beast forms freely.”
