On the bed in my room, where the air conditioning wasn’t working properly due to the excessive heat outside, my childhood friend, Sakura Tomori, closed her eyes and gently brought her lips to my face. Taking a deep breath to stay calm, I softly kissed her back.

I felt her tongue enter my mouth, and then I was pushed back with force. She had surprisingly strong arms, probably due to her being a cheerleader. We sucked on each other’s mouths, and our hands explored each other’s bodies. Tomori seemed to be struggling with unbuckling my belt.

When Tomori was in first grade, her dad passed away. After that, her mom, Ms. Akari, worked hard to take care of her. While Tomori was in elementary school, her mom would leave her at my house until she got home from work, so we’ve basically grown up like siblings.
Because of this, we took baths together until I started middle school, and of course, we played house and doctor together. So, it’s kind of funny that we’re declaring we’re in a relationship now.
But once I became a middle schooler, I started to see her as more than just friends. When Tomori entered high school, we both realized we liked each other as more than just friends.
My parents and Tomori’s mom have always thought that we should end up together in the future. But since we’re still in high school, I wasn’t sure about having a serious relationship.
Last month, my kendo club lost in the prefectural tournament, and the third years retired, so I was feeling down about studying for exams.
To cheer me up, Tomori said, “Let’s officially be a couple.” I didn’t disagree, and I had been thinking about dating seriously with the idea of marriage in mind once we got to college, so I quickly said yes. Then Tomori said, “Well, then this summer, let’s lose our virginity together…”
I heard that kids in the cheerleading club are becoming adults one after another, and I’m not sure if our relationship is known among them, but they were asking why we’re still “pure.” Well, Tomori has always been a bit competitive…

It was a really hot August evening when I ran into Tomori’s mom, Ms. Akari, outside my house after studying for exams at the library.

”Hey, Yuuta. Have you and Tomori made any progress lately? When I talk about you in front of her, she seems a bit distant.”
Wow, she’s sharp. But I didn’t want to hide my relationship from my parents, so I announced it while being a bit vague about the details.
”Well, Tomori and I decided to date with the idea of marriage in mind… I’m serious.”
At that moment, Ms. Akari stopped moving, and tears started streaming down her face, which surprised me.
”Uh, Ms. Akari, what’s wrong?”
”No, I’m sorry. I’m just so happy… Tomori has been without her dad since she was little, and I’ve been so busy with work that I couldn’t be there for her.”
She paused, wiping away a tear before continuing,
”She’s grown up to be such a cheerful and bright girl, and I really appreciate you and your parents. I just want her to be truly happy in the future… So, if someone like you, a responsible guy, marries her, I’d feel at ease.”
She explained her feelings while trying to hold back her tears.
”Don’t say things like ‘rest in peace’! But thank you for your feelings. I promise to date Tomori in a way that won’t embarrass you.”
”Yeah, yeah, it’s okay. I had Tomori when I was 19. Nowadays, high schoolers can be a bit wild and not stand out too much!”
”Really? Is that how it is?”
After that, I said goodbye to Ms. Akari.
That night, I got a message from Tomori on LINE.
”Thanks for explaining everything to my mom! Now our parents know, so let’s have s*x again!~♡.”
Well, I can’t say I’m totally against it. I guess I should tell my parents about it too.
