Puruun suddenly said she wants to go to royal capital with me next year, and everyone was shocked. She started explaining slowly so that Melon could understand.
First of all, the fact that the 4 of us are a family and that Ms. Akari and I are going back to our original world creates a big problem.
Right now, Puruun and Melon really need us to survive. So, Puruun wants us to stay together for another 2 or 3 years until she can stand on her own. It’s true that just because kids grow up and leave their parents doesn’t mean they stop being family…
But at the same time, she feels bad that our return might be delayed because she wants to start looking into things. So, she thinks it would be best for the 4 of us to move to royal capital as soon as possible. Melon seemed to get that, but she wondered why it was about just the two of us going.
Puruun continued.
”Actually… I think we can manage to have enough money for all 4 of us to go to royal capital. With my savings, the money from Imengi, and the reward Yuuta got, it seems like we can cover a bit more than a million pon per person.”
I see, so she’s been calculating that since yesterday.
”But if that’s the case, wouldn’t it be better for all 4 of us to leave next year?”
”Well, Yuuta, by the time we get to royal capital, we’ll probably have almost no money left. If we can’t find jobs or a place to live after that, we might not even be able to come back to the village, and we’d be stuck.”
”Oh! I get it. So, the two of us go to royal capital first, get things sorted out, and then the other 2 will follow!”
”Exactly, Mama Akari, you got it!”
”That makes sense. We’ve thought this through well. But that means for at least a year, the two pairs will be apart.”
”That can’t be helped. But I think it’s way better than just the two of us sisters being alone. Hey, Melon, can you stay with Mama Akari for about a year?”

Ms. Akari agreed with my opinion.
”Yeah, even if we decide to go, it’ll be in 6 months, so let’s all take some time to think. But Yuuta, Mama Akari, I’m going to start working hard this winter to save more money, so I’ll need your help.”
””Of course!””
And so, our plan to move to royal capital began.
A few days later, I went to talk to the Village Head about Puruun’s plan. Okia happened to be there too, so we all listened together.
”Yuuta, I don’t have any objections to that idea. If you can cover the costs yourselves, then it’s fine.”
”Really? If the Village Head agrees, Puruun will be happy. But is that okay? The village’s population might decrease.”
Okia answered that question.
”That’s fine. Normally, each village has to send a certain number of soldiers. But here, because of the recent beast attacks, the number of males has dropped, and we’ve been excused from sending soldiers for a while,” he explained, pausing thoughtfully. “So your proposal is actually a good thing for the village.”
He continued, his tone softening,
”Plus, I know why Barua has been saving money. He wants to send his daughters to school in royal capital to learn magic and help them succeed in a better place than this countryside.”
”I see. So, the sisters going to royal capital was also Barua’s dream. That makes me even more motivated.”
”That’s the case, Yuuta. I have one condition. I want Puruun to join the military. That way, the village will benefit too.”
”Okay. I’ll tell Puruun.”

When I got home and told Puruun what the Village Head said, she suddenly burst into tears.
”Hey, what’s up, Puruun? Do you not like the army?”
”No, I’m sorry… Yuuta, that’s not it. I was just thinking about how Melon and I always looked poorer than the other kids when we were little. I wondered why I couldn’t wear nice clothes, maybe because I don’t have a mom… Seriously, that jerk of a dad. No wonder he had a good amount of savings!”
”Haha, he’s a good father, right? Let’s work hard for Barua and go to royal capital.”
”Yeah, he’s really something to be proud of…”
While I was talking with Puruun, Ms. Akari, who was listening nearby, spoke to me.
”Yuuta. It seems like you’ve figured things out about going to royal capital with PurPur.”
”Ah, yes. But Ms. Akari, I know it might be lonely, but I will never forget you…”
”No, no, I’m not worried about that! I can handle being alone. But you know, it’s almost been 2 years since I came to this village… I’m feeling a bit sentimental about how far we’ve come.”
Even though she said that, I could tell Ms. Akari seemed a bit sad, and then she spoke again.
”Yuuta. How about we have a 2-year anniversary date tomorrow?”
”Wait, a date…?”
”Haha, it’s okay. This time there won’t be any surprises…”
Hmm. Does that mean there won’t be any exciting moments? Or does it mean we can really get intimate?
While I was lost in those thoughts, Puruun said to me.
”Yuuta, you’re getting too excited! But, you know, it wouldn’t hurt to do something nice for Mama Akari once in a while. We always get in the way.”

And I never told her that we’ve been pretending to be a couple for 2 years…
I wonder what would happen if Puruun found out the truth. She’d probably be really shocked, and thinking about that made my excitement quickly fade away.
The next day, at Ms. Akari’s request, we went to the mountain cabin near the river where the two of them first stayed when they came to this world. The old cabin was burned down by Ms. Akari, so of course, it was rebuilt afterward. But just a little downstream is where Barua fought the Goblin King, so it has a lot of memories.

We sat side by side on a big rock by the river.
”It feels like it went by so fast, right? Two years.”
”Yeah, it does. But now that we can finally see the path to royal capital, we still have a long way to go.”
”About that, Yuuta…”
”Ah, Ms. Akari, you didn’t seem too excited about it yesterday. Are you against this plan? I don’t mean it in a weird way, but I’d feel bad if I was the only one excited. If you have any thoughts, please feel free to share.”
”Okay, I’ll be clear. Yuuta. You should become a couple with PurPur!”
”Huh? W-What do you mean by that…?”
”It’s not new that you’re a bit clueless, but PurPur definitely has feelings for you.”
”Feelings? What kind of old-fashioned word is that? No way, really?”
”I can see it clearly from the outside. I think MelMel has noticed too. If not, a normal girl wouldn’t suggest going to royal capital together!”
”Well, even so… she’s like a little sister to me… My partner in this world is Ms. Akari.”
”You’re so loyal, Yuuta. Calling this lady who won’t even let you have a single moment with her your partner. But I’m happy. Alright, Yuuta. If you’re saying that, I’m ready. While we’re in this world, I’ll truly be your partner from now on. Can I ask that you become more intimate with me sometimes?”
”No, no, Ms. Akari, what’s going on? Is this another surprise?”
”No, I’m serious. I’m not trying to deny Yuuta’s decision to return, but to be honest, we still don’t know if we can go back to our original world. And after two years, we don’t know what the world over there is like either.”
She paused, her expression softening as she continued,
”Tomori has been on my mind, and I haven’t crossed the line with Yuuta, but if we can go back, I want Yuuta to make Tomori happy. And if we can’t, I want him to be happy with PurPur. In any case, by the time this migration plan succeeds and we settle in royal capital, I’ll probably be in my late thirties.”
A faint smile appeared as she concluded,
”So, I’ll leave Yuuta’s future to my daughters, but for now, I think it’s okay to prioritize my own feelings. As a woman, is it really so bad to enjoy life a little more?”
”No, I don’t think it’s bad! After spending two years together, I’ve long seen Ms. Akari as a woman. I’m not confident that I can act as if nothing happened when I meet Tomori back in the original world, but I also want to have s*x with Ms. Akari.”
”Yuuta, thank you. I’m very happy.”
”Then… here…” I started to take off my clothes. “Ah, but… I’m not really prepared…”
”Come on, don’t tease me now!”
”Haha, I understand. Let’s go into the hut.”
