Chapter 183 New Dungeon Exploration – Second Floor (Part 4️⃣)

Even though it took some time, the exploration of the second floor was going well.
We started running into high-class monsters along the way, making things a bit tougher. But with our team, it was still manageable…
Should we decide on a camping spot soon? I was talking with Liz when ‘they’ showed up.
”Above!”
Dorothy grabbed Kazumi and jumped back from the spot. A Goblin leaped down from above us. We were totally caught off guard.
In the sudden close combat, Liz quickly pulled out her short sword.
Me and Asuka, who were at the back, were a bit slow to react. Rena and Liz managed to dodge the surprise attack from above, but we were surrounded by 5 Goblins.
”Rena!”
The two of them weren’t used to close combat. I, ‘Yamikirimaru,’ charged in──but then.
”Hehe♡ It’s my first real battle!”
Rena pulled out her dagger, a smile on her pretty face.
(Oh! It’s the ‘dagger technique’ taught by Martina!)
”Don’t do anything reckless.”
Liz, while saying that, couldn’t help but smile too. Just then, the Goblins all charged at them.
Liz slashed down one Goblin with her short sword and broke free from the encirclement.
Rena jumped right into the Goblins’ range and blocked a club with her dagger.
In the next moment, she stabbed the other dagger into the Goblin’s chest.
(So fast!)
Liz and Rena move quickly. Liz, who got out of the trap first, slashed the Goblin that was about to attack Rena from behind. Rena, who had just taken down another Goblin in front of her, turned around and finished off another Goblin.
The last one left is…
”Guah!”
With a roar, Suu jumped in, swinging the backpack in her hand to smash it down.
(Ah… that’s the one full of ore. That’s gonna hurt a lot.)

”Rena trained hard with Martina.”
”She has been practicing a lot since coming back from the S-rank dungeon too.”
Hehe! They both had proud faces. I feel a bit pathetic for not being able to move so quickly…

”Ms. Kazumi must not get caught in close combat.”

Martina and Noriss looked up at the ceiling.
”They ‘spawned’ out of nowhere. Classic dungeon ambush.”
Rena picked up a dagger and a magic stone.

As Asuka said, we need to stay alert.

After defeating the high Goblins in the next room, we decided to camp there for the night.
We finished preparing and had dinner. While drinking tea, we talked about what happened today.
”Um, um, um… the, the, the monsters that ‘spawn’… are, are, quite dangerous… right?”
Sister Karina seems worried too. Kazumi and Lotta feel the same way.
”Even if I don’t expect Ms. Rena to be like that, at least I should learn some self-defense like ‘dagger skills’…”
Gièze is right. Luckily, our clan has Martina, who is great at ‘dagger skills.’
”I’m good with daggers too.”

Liz chuckles while patting Noriss on the shoulder, looking at Kazumi, Sister Karina, and Lotta.

If she really can’t get the hang of close combat, maybe she should learn wind or light magic for protection.

Last time in the S-rank dungeon, those 3 stayed close to protect Kazumi and Rena…
”No, we will do our best! Right? Ms. Kazumi, Ms. Karina!”

Kazumi seems to be trying hard, influenced by Lotta and Sister Karina.

”I hope we can somehow reach the third floor.”
”…They say we’ll return to the dungeon entrance with the teleportation magic tool by noon tomorrow.”
Gorge and Asuka are keeping watch with me. A strange pair, right? Well, there’s a reason for that…

”Tonight, it’s me, Dorothy, and Martina keeping watch with Hiroya!”
”No, Aluda and the others are watching Hiro!”
”It’s me and Rena, right? We’re the childhood friend trio!”

The rookie group, like Gièze, looked at us with disbelief…
”I’ll keep watch with you, Master.”
Gorge decided that firmly.
”By the way, Gorge, when will your house be ready?”
”They’re already working on the construction. It should be done in about one or 2 weeks.”
”Well, until then, we’ll be staying at Hiroya’s place, right?”

I can’t help but smile a little at Asuka’s words.

”Are you having a wedding or something?”
I asked the question that had been on my mind. It felt like a flag, so I hadn’t asked until now, but I really wanted to know.
”We’ll register our marriage, but we don’t plan on having a big ceremony.”

”Then how about we celebrate with everyone in the clan?”

I almost spit out my tea.
”What are you saying, Gorge? Of course, it’s everyone. Is he planning to make a woman cry behind the scenes?”
Asuka, why do you look so serious?
”Is that true, Master?”
”That’s the plan. But for the ‘house’ part, I guess I’ll be marrying Kazumi first? Since it’s a noble marriage, you know.”
”That’s true. Kazumi is in the main wife position.”
